I’ve seen some mentions in this chat about how the chat feature has been fixed by people making sure the date and time on their switch is set to automatic. I cannot verify that myself though because I haven’t had an issue with it. But I have read it a few times in this channel.

Huh. It must be a syncing issue or something then. The servers are set to the correct time and date but the switch is saying it’s like (as an example) November 30 2030 and it just makes it freak out or something. I’m glad it worked for you though!

ive been wondering about the teleporting deer i cant hunt when they just disappear

You will get a hang of it!

What helps me is that I scout the area where it last disappeared! It is not that far from the area it vanished from!

What also helps me find it is generally going towards the area it was running towards!

watching vids of people hunting makes me want to ignore hunting.
i really want gyro controls , mouse and keyboard on this is so much better.
if the switch had gyro aiming, id prolly do more hunting

I went back to hunting to increase my levels. At first it was weird and difficult but now it seems to be better althought I make a rough estimate of the distance and shoot in the general small area of the animal. Not sure if it's a bug or some sort of assist but it usually hits the animal.

yea it does have a small aim assist, it helps when it helps, most of the time i see arrows curving and hitting the floor, maybe its a graphic glitch or lag, its also never consistent i could shoot 1 arrow at some and then the next one will take 10 arrow to the face standing still then go poof and pretend like it never existed. hunting with gyro would make chasing animals down more tolerable with all the zig zag and slowing down while aiming.

if it takes 10 arrows and it doesn't panic and still grazes it wasn't there and was a graphical glitch. in my experience, aiming for the head/neck area usually only needs 1 to 2 arrows using a standard bow and fine arrows. also, i think it says in the tutorial that the arrows do arch downwards

also, go into the menu and check your settings, i just found out that my aim sensitivity was all the way down to 0.1

Gyro will definitely help in most cases. The Bahari Bay creatures are very agile and resilient, I noticed recently.

It's strange that the game crashes multiple times for you. I've never had a crash on my Switch Lite. I also play for an hour or two continuously before recharging and playing again.
How are you playing on the console? Handheld or docked?

docked and it prolly crashes cuz im doing something dumb like getting stuck inside rocks. every now and then ittl lock up when talking to npcs. most of the time its something to do with the screem chainging to fast

character failed movement .. or actor is impassable or soemmething.. i know if istart getting errors like that. soon after it crashes

got a new one today about stuff trying to merge when it s not spossed to.. idk what that was even about

and someone like me will just get detterred from playing at all because every player looks exactly the same, its a brave move

I can, the problem is I had two plots right next to each other. Like they were touching. So I placed the apple tree down but I accidentally placed it in the middle, so it takes up a few slots on each plot. Which interferes with laying out crops a certain way yknow.

hi, didnt know where to put this so i came here, feel free to direct me elsewhere
my character wears the poppy dress (folk flowers? i think?) and ive noticed a few glitches with it
firstly, the knees cut through when running but honestly i dont mind that, it's not like i do the game backwards
the main thing is that about 90% of the time, when i use the glider, the dress will kind of glitch backwards? and so when i land, it remains kind of stuck and my poor character is just showing everyone her underwear (at least it's bloomers yk)
it fixes itself after i like jump around like a crazy person but it's admittedly getting a little frustrating doing that constantly

is this a known kind of glitch? is there a way i could fix it permanently? i dont want to give up the dress bc yknow i spent real money on that

you can use the camera in game and it saves to your album in the game, idk how to get those of switch tho, but you can open your pc version if you have it and have access there. but no you can’t take a pic mid convo lol

Hey there. I'm from Japan and I've been unable to play games on my Switch since last night. When I go to the character screen and select gameplay, it says "unable to connect". I've rebooted, reinstalled, but nothing.
The only thing I did before I logged out was put all the furniture out in the yard for renovations and added 4 more places. You don't think it's too heavy to log in, do you? Or did you get banned? I can log in to the official site.
I haven't tried logging in on my computer because my computer is currently out of service. I've made some inquiries, but...

Hi so sorry that your having this type of problem it’s best you got to #💻│tech-help with this problem and find someone who can help you out or go to in game support and put in a ticket.

This has been a recurring problem on switch and the developers know about it. Unfortunately this probably want get fully fixed until the next maintenance update which won’t happen until the team comes back from their 2 week winter break.

Hey, I'm having issues on switch with inventory, currently I can't move anything in my overflowing into a chest or into my main inventory. Sometimes I can't move inventory in general or in stacks but option to destroy works fine

if so, press the left control stick down to bring up your building grid, then press the plus button to bring up the plot screen and go to default, should bring you back to your main house

they are saved in the palia "recent photos" until you finally save them to your album. on the screen theres a button thats labeled "save to album" and another for "view album" recent photos dissappear at some point

its REALLY REALLY weird compared to what everyones used to on the switch since we have a "built in screenshot button" and album. most switch games with cameras save directly to switch, this does not.. you can tell they were thinking of switch users.

A while ago I approached Palia Support regarding the lag and stutters that became more frequent the longer I played the game. There were some software and hardware troubleshooting steps recommended but when none of that helped they told me that it's the hardware limitation and that I should contact nintendo support for further help lol

That's a switch issue I think, I had the same problem, on pc it does work normally

And they are called Sernuk!

When you use standard arrows you can shoot them once and they die so that can be helpful on the switch to hunt, otherwise I don't really know what you can do

Hey, not sure if this came up yet but I'd love to give some feedback on specifically the shooting mechanic in Palia on the switch. It's incredibly hard and clunky to use the right trigger and right stick to aim your bow. Would be much easier if we could use the left trigger and right stick, if that's possible? Yeah the candle quest is for prove your devotion. I can't do it through, because of the book that's on that altar, which appeared there once I did a task and got a treasure box there. Once I grabbed the treasure, the book was sitting there underneath. It doesn't say anything useful for this though, just sort of a lore thing and a small nod to the player.

I've had a few things that I'm sure are undesired effects:

• When I view recipes to craft, I get in-accurate ingredients despite moving and changing selection. I find I have to leave the crafting and re-enter
• when trying to move items from overflow to pockets, I have to enter the inventory menu sometimes up to 3 times to get it to work
• Often on my plot, I perform an action (I've pinned it to placing a crafter), then I approach a storage chest and it auto-opens without any interaction
• I've had errors trying to cook oyster meat. I couldn't do it for days.. Suddenly today I could..
• I've often had 'standing T' (where my character is just a model) when exiting my plot to the Kilima area
• Harvesting, sowing and pulling weeds is a bit so-so. I can't quite get the knack for where to stand or when to get the 'Harvest' prompt.
• Filling up watering can. Often after planting, andn water, I go to fill up my can and don't get the X to fill. I have to B to back out of invisible menu/status to fill up my water

Are all these things previously reported? Should we report things like this?

Report every bug you experience, every report of a bug helps and if you have video or a photo of the issue, it helps even more. More reports of the same issue helps to establish a cause, if it’s one person it might be their system but if it’s 1,000 people doing the same thing in game and getting the same bug… they can fix that. ☺️

Yes. Sometimes you can’t move items. Or something won’t select at all.

Many of the fixes I’ve found involve backing out of a menu and going back in.

So for example, if you want to organize your on-person inventory, press + and go to inventory, and if you can’t select or move something, back out to the view of your character, then press + again and go to inventory again. It sometimes takes 3 tries until you can select and move an item.

You’re not doing anything wrong, there are different types of chapaas and sernuks that you often see in Bahari Bay which are harder to kill (if you look closely you’ll start to see that the different variants have different colouring)

It gets easier to hunt in general once you upgrade your bow and arrows

Hey, you need actual silk, not just the threads for that quest. If you've ever had even 1 silk you can request that which is the finished product and costs 5 threads to make.

I do a lot of mining which yields me a lot of threads from the centipedes. I don't mind if you tag along to farm some. I'm not usually online til 3pm est tho due to work.

You can also straight up buy silk from the register at Tish's furniture store, but they're kinda expensive if I remember right.

You need 20 silk total for the quests so you could either spend 11,600 gold and be done immediately, or try to hunt down 100 threads to craft yourself which is roughly 33ish rare/silk giving bugs!

Okay, so I troubleshooted on my stream today to figure out why the inventory management (of being able to move items around from menu, vs when you're looking inside a chest).

So if you open up Inventory via menu when next to a chest (which as a A to open), it's a 'locked down' inventory.
As soon as you move away from the chest, and open up inventory via the menu, you're able to select items and move things around.
Might raise this as a bug

yeah, nothing gets lost when they move to full release, but as i said, nintendo doesn't like games that are still in beta to be released on their platforms, it's why the PC version has beta on the title screen, but the switch version does not. but you can tell that it's still beta by the numbers on the bottom of the title screen saying that it's only 0.175

yeah, they said for 2 years that the game was going to be free to play, while people paid to have the game in early access cough beta testers cough. then two days before they went out of whatever they want to call it, they announced that it was going to be a fully paid for game. which turned a lot of people, including myself, off from it

don't get me wrong, i'll pay for a game that i think is worth it, i will definitely buy coins for palia once i get another job, but i don't like the idea of how dreamlight treated the switch fan base

the one nice thing is that if you are playing handheld, you can touch the screen to type, still slow and annoying, but is a little bit faster than using the control stick to move to each letter

When you are stuck cooking, hit 'H' twice to unfreeze (instead, press left joystick then b on switch). If you are at someone else's house without permissions, sometimes opening the emote menu fixes this as well. Rearranging your kitchen so it's not close to anything can sometimes stop this from happening, but not in all cases.

you need to get to level 2 in Furniture Making to get the Loom, then you have to get to level 6 to get the recipe for silk

It’s not a glitch, you need more than one of some things to complete recipes.

It was pointed out to me that if you open a recipe and one of the stations shows in red, you lack it

I have made many recipes using one prep station for multiple tasks. You do need to be careful that you actually have all the ingredients, sometimes it say Ready To Craft when it really isn’t.

Yes, there are recipes you can complete with one. However, as you progress, you get more complicated recipes. So like when you go to make macarons, you need two mixing stations because you can’t prep the sugar AND mix the macarons at the same stations but both are done at mixing stations so you start the recipe at one and then go mix the sugar at the other then go back to the first one to add the ingredient and mix to complete.

Not all recipes require doubles of any station, but other recipes call for more requirements and stations to complete

If you are able to make macarons with one mixing station, then that is a glitch. Everyone else needs two 😂

You can’t mix the sugar without first starting the recipe and you can’t start the recipe without a second mixing station.

sometimes you can fix this by scrolling your hotbar to deselect anything that might be selected (happens a lot when you are eating focus food), or I think for switch it's left joystick in to open the building menu? sometimes doing that twice will "reset" you (even if you are on someone else's plot and don't have editor permissions, it should still work to reset stuff so you can interact again) and fix the issue. 🙂 another thing might be where the interact button disappears, and for that you just need to walk away until the interact prompt disappears and then go back and the prompt should be fixed when it reappears.

Hit + to open up the Main Menu
Under "Social Menus" choose Friends
Scroll down once then scroll up once and you won't see it but the + will be selected, then hit A
This will bring up a new menu, search your friends player name there and Add Friend
You will need your friend to do this too, both will need to confirm the requests
If you've already done this you can back out to the main Friends panel and scroll all the way to the bottom where it may say your friend is offline, if you are hovered on their picture next to their name flick the joystick to the right and it will now show you an option in yellow below to hit A to invite to server.
Since i've never done this before I don't know what comes next, so best of luck from there!
(There's a chance you both need to be on your plots and use the blue sign next to the exit to invite each other over).

Does anyone else find it incredibly annoying that you can't pause the game? If I close it down and return to the Switch home screen, but don't close the software, it'll still force me out of the game due to lost server and I have to start from the loading screen.

Even if I bring up the menu or just "park" myself in a corner while I do something for a few minutes, it still kicks me out of the server.

This probably has to do with the MMO aspect (which this is my first) but it's still annoying. I don't want to close the software everytime I need to go afk for more than 2 minutes.

that's mmo's for you, though. if you are idle for too long, you're taking up space on the servers (only 25 players per server) that other players could play on. If they didn't kick people off for non-movement, then other players would have long wait times to get on

at least when you come back you are still on the same spot (different server) that you got kicked instead of being on your plot and having to go all the way back to where you were

2mins is an awful short time though, I've left it running for 15-30 mins and not been logged out while i made and ate food. Its probably connected to the travel failure glitch. Before i dumped all my furniture out of storage i would also disconnect after about 2 or 3mins

it's so you can come back and get the loot, but i think it's on a timer as to how long you can come back for it. i'll go through when a grove hits, then go see if there's anything else in the area worth getting, then come back and get the flow wood after everyone has cut down the trees

I press ZR when the moving ball hits the marked circle. But it just jumps back to the start.
Or it jumps further ahead and reacts as if I pressed ZR there and fails.

Actually whenever this happened I had an audio bug of a continued clicking sound. It only was fixed once I shut down the game completely.
