Ahh ok I see, that makes a lot of sense. Looks like I am going to continue my hunt for a steam deck haha, thank you so much, I appreciate you!
do u need any help with a layout or u wanna make it urself?
I think for now I will try and find my own layout but if I continue to have super slow progress I'll be sure to ask for suggested layouts! I am technically casual and can only spend 2 or 3 hours a night, besides weekends lol

tysm <3
I need help 😭
Il help tomorrow gonna sleep
What are you looking for gardening wise? Money, food stuff, etc
I’m doing for both
Omg don’t worry take your time I’m taking my time in gardening 😂😂
One more question is there anything you don’t like doing? Pulling weeds, watering? Etc
If I be honest I hate and love decorating but in gardening it just watering I’m trying to get the well but I’m just in level 11 I think
It isn’t a crap ton I definitely have better ones. But this one is pretty good for starting off.
I myself tend to aim for lots of beans, some blueberries, and one or two things of apples for lures! I dislike watering as well or at least a dislike a ton of watering.
I am still working on a few more as well.
I have a bunch of everything garden layouts, they're all 100% water retain/weedblock and can be 100% harvest boost with a bit of fertilizer, and you can make good money out of them by processing the crops, too. Here's a compilation of most of them

U would still benefit from low lv layouts till lv25
I don't like Gardening in general but its because unlike more other things you have to... (shudders at the though) Commit to it till you get progress. /halfjoke
I also don't cook much because I be lazy so there isn't much of a benefit to it unlike other activities where results are faster.
I don’t cook a lot either. If I do I try to find parties so I don’t have to do all the parts
I just Buy Reth Soups and call it a day LOL
can someohe help me figure out if its better to go with potato/tomato or potato/cabbage for a bean farm? im using it mostly for animal feed as i dont want to bother with cooking.
I do Bok choy since it grows in 3 days and the seeds don't take long to come back
i tried bokchoys last week, too much tending. qwq as im busy doing the quests and playing other games
Fair
also idk when they added 100 stacks for seeds but hot damn is it so damn good
Ahahaha. I use beans for food. Any cooking parties I do I sell
Whichever u prefer tomato more work but more profit
So who here knows how to play sudoku?
This was hard to make, coz I had to redo the places to make it work
But a great time killer nonetheless
||```TPO|CGB

Solution above, I think. G is the big cabbage.
this was so fun!
It's a fun idea!
Either I'm having a problem or it's late on loading, either way. I can't see pic sorry
Wrote it as text, sorry. The starting letters of the various vegetables to indicate which one is where.
It appears like the spoiler curtain to me but I can't remove it. Anyways, I'm glad you had fun
If you click on the far left side it will unspoiler. Its a bit broken lol
It worked
Sorry, wasn't aware discord would mess it up.
Discord is just like that
new attempt at a high buff (excluding quality) design that doesnt hurt my brain too much lmao
it needs tons of harvest boosts fert want somet ips on how to design it?
i always take tips! and yeah i have so much fert im hoarding that i forget its not the usual lmao
reminds me of when i had 6k hb fert ....
ok so first of i u want 3 buffs on a layout then the corner crops always need fert
and ur placing blueberrys there so thats 4times as much needed then if it was a 1x1
further hold on a min il prep a layout to show a waterretain weedblock buffbelt
look at what im doing with 4 crops alternating this is one trick u can use to design lots of layouts with (it doesnt always work though)
buffbelting 😄
u can also do that in different shapes but this shows how to waterretain weedblock stuff while pputting hb crops in to
oooh tysm! ill fiddle around some more :3
u know that crop they accidentally gave us for fatthers day, does it actuially grow if we plant it? lol
Yes it does but you cant really do anything with it right now. I have one grown in my inventory just for fun 😂 im hoping we get it for real
and we can make soup
Am I the only one who saved up the gardening coils for a well only to find out that you can't even refill your water with the well??? It's a FAKE well and I'm beyond disappointed
You can fill your can with the gardening well, I got one last week and I'm able to.
Weird I can't for some reason. Just curious, does yours have water in it? Mine looks dry/empty, wondering if it's a bug on my end
Mine has a weird green tinted base, yeah. You might want to try removing it, relogging, and placing it again.
Will do, thank you! I'm glad to read this, I have hope again.
It worked, thank you @cursive plinth !
Hooray!! I'm glad to hear it worked. Enjoy your well!
Hi! This is my first time using the planner.... could anyone pls tell me if this is a good crops?...... and what does it mean on the bottom where it says "overview" & "produce"?... thank you in advance
Is it bad to keep farming all soil full of bok choy? 🥹
theres some uneeded fert (blueberries/rice/wheat give harvest boost so any crops touching dont need harvest boost fert)
At least use some 1tile harvestboost crops
Does anyone have a good layout for a very low level gardener, that will help get me levels and that would be good to either sell the crops, or make and sell seeds? I have the seed maker, but no preservation jars, yet. I wish the planner would let you enter what seeds you have, then plan the best layout for you. 🙂
Il send u
Here's another puzzle based on 👆
But I didn't use corn, used wheat so their sizes are matched if planted
Ony the corners get about 2 buffs but all mid get 3 buffs
This is like a daily sudoku to me

this owuld be super complicated to remember though when replanting
Really wish there a plan for having more than 9 soil plots
if i wanna have max of like 4 2x2 size crops in my plots what is a good distribution money/time wise? all blueberries/pumpkin/peppers/beans or a mix and how much? i only need beans occasionally cuz canned beans banger focus but i can swap blueberries out for em as needed
hey sorry for the late respond i been busy lol, but i can try this one and see how it goes
I recently swapped out cabagabes for tomatoes it felt so nice not having to manage it so much. 😭
Maybe if they add even more types of crops they'll up the soil plots limit
Wish they added a way to turn our crops into the cooking ingredients that can only be bought at Zeki's... Imagine, we have wheat, we could turn it into flour! Allow us to ferment our fruits or rice into vinegar! Make our own oil out of corn ! Butter out of milk and salt ! (That's ranching, but still a farm-related product !) Maybe we could have beets for sugar. It sure beets having to run to the General store because you ran out of ingredients.
But tomatoes are more maintenance since u have to harvest so many times
Oop I wrote that backwards. I swapped out tomatoes for cabbages.
That was what i wished ranching had included. 😭 Ormuus helping with the milling.
Our crops having use for feed that's directly used for them.
Having wool. From some of the animals.
And then of course converting and having more crops that can be turned into ingredients.
I know they probably are concern about money sink issues if they did that. But let's be honest the majority of people still buy their sprouts and mushrooms from zekis for parties even tho we can forrage them.
People who are ranching definetely don't buy mushrooms. I still have over 300 mushrooms left over from ranching, trufflets give a lot of those. And I haven't ranched since they added boovars iirc. Or the ferris, whichever came first. (Tbf I barely play these days otherwise I'd have much less mushrooms left)
I just got Elder Clam Mushrooms from one of my truflets! I definitely can see where you'd get a TON of shrooms!
Im almost level 10. I have apple and blueberries. What should I grow in my 9x9 plot and how
Waterretain harvestboost and quality up in a layout
Depends on how much you like weeding your plants. 😅
Haha now you’re about to be rich in mushrooms before you know it 😏🍄
someone got the link to that spreadsheet doc abt crop growth time to value ratios?
also what does it mean when the crop info says harvest boost 1+? is it a bigger harvest boost or like multiple days worth?
Multiple days worth
And a crop takes 1 fertilizer per day per square, so a potato for example will take 1 a day, while a pepper plant will take 4 and an apple tree will take 9 a day
I hate the middle stage when you are waiting for your previous plants to finish so you can try a new setup.
I know you can un-till the crops but that just seems wasteful
Especially if they are almost done growing too.
Right!! It’s like these have maybe one more harvest from them. But it’s usually the apple tree and blueberries that I end up waiting on
what would be the best thing to spend the medals on?
Definitely recommend getting a well if you didn't buy one yet
I just got to rank 11 on it and wouldn't be able to get it till rank 15
in gardening lots of wells
First time poster in this channel~
I'm always a 100% water retention and weed prevention type of gardener. 😆
Due to aesthetic reason, I gave up the latter in this garden. I've had this for months and I gave up figuring out how to get 100% weed prevention.
If anyone has free time and idea, I'd appreciate it.
Nevertheless, just also sharing my love for gardening here. It's my main money maker and skill in Palia~
That’s super pretty!! I myself aim for water retention I’m not too concerned about the weed block. I go for lots of beans though since they are my main food source
i wish he had an anti weed crop that was longer than 3 days that can be paired with the onion
For gardening... are we stuck with only 9 plots or do we eventually get more? I desire more plots XD
Hey, sadly 9 is max 🙁
Booooo T^T Also, how long do apple trees last for? I've been staring at my 1 seed like 'how many harvests tho?' XD
Four harvests total, 16 apples normally per harvest, after 12+6+6+6 in-game days where they're watered. After you log off, one more day will count, then the timer will pause until you log in again.
Ah. Thank you!
Thank you so much~ I really love my garden. ❤️
I now appreciate the look of the weeds in the 4 crops. It gives a more natural feeling so I won't do anything about it anymore. 😁
I make seeds out of beans and sell it. If I need to eat, I just buy from Reth. 😆
How far can i get through by exclusively farming and growing rice.
How far in what way? Money? Levels?
hello do u need help with getting a layout that matches ur sppecific needs and wants?
ooo, both, but i gotta go do some last minute cramming, i’ll ttyl
I decided to make my own chart today and it might need some revision once everything grows but this is the chart as of right now. I focus on water retention and harvest boost. If anyone has some tips for me, they would be greatly appreciated ☺️
Just a quick question: I’ve been getting a high yield of starred crops and few not starred. Is there a way to get more not starred?
Even if i plant an entire field of the same item it still happens that way. I have been planting not starred seeds.
It correlates to your level, once you hit a certain point, the only crops you will harvest will be starred. Afaik, the only way to get unstarred crops after that point is either buying them from badruu, or requests.
Anyone has a nice farm plot layout? One that has apples, blueberries and beans?
ah ok. Thank you very much.
Once you reach gardening level 25 (iirc) you start getting some starred crops from regular seeds, and the chances of getting starred crops from regular seeds only go up the more you level until you get only starred crops not matter the quality of the seeds
This is my layout if it will help.
Thank you. Appreciate the info!
This one is mine. I am going for the same thing you are. Apples, beans, berries
Full harvest and water retention
can someone give me their opinion?
i made a garden with 100% water retain & 100% weed proof but its SO annoying trying to remember what plants to put in each spot.
does anyone have a good suggestion on which plants to just grow for max profit?
i'm partial to this layout personally. it may not be the "max" money, but if you harvest just the apples and blueberries (or you can replace the blues with beans) you don't have to deal with any of the other crops at all, including weeding as the layout gives 8 slots (on the water crops) for weeds to grow. you only need to tend to this layout if you want to harvest everything, but it's mostly just the apples and bushes that you will harvest and everything else stays in the ground. if you don't care about the aesthetics of the grown crops ignore everything else
I have a potential better ond then silva send for the lazy jamfarming
Why not get the beans from Elderwood ? Unless you reallyneed them starred.
If you just replant as you harvest, you won't have to remember the layout. Either per individual plant or crop for crop.
Like harvest all tomatoes, replant all tomatoes, then the same for the next crop etc etc
If only this could attract moths like it would in real life lol
does anyone have any suggestions on how to level up a little faster?
im using a real apple tree for deco right now-
Does anyone have the chart that shows whether it's better to make seeds or preserves?
ty!!
Thank you for this, however I have a question. I was just looking at my crops., and some of the crops themselves sell for more than the seeds.. So why would we make seeds to sell if the crops sell for more? Or am I not understanding this?
Cuz u get more then one seed per crop (on most things)
Thank you! I wasn't thinking of that!!
in before since seeders got stuck so fast preserves always when equal or near equal on both but now im not so sure aboujt that anymore now maybe seeds is almost always better espceically since u dont have to keep seeds in storage if they are in the seedcollector and then u cant forget to make enuff sees on lots of crops
banks full, focus food done, quests done ranch is going on finely.
anyone have any good layouts for every crop? im also open to none 9x9 tradiotional layouts
This is my old, all crops layout. I just swap rice or wheat with cotton when I need it.
Thanks. I'll leave the cotton out. I figured out it's cheaper to grow bok choy and buy fabric with the money than itt is to grow cotton
Same reason I don't grow cotton.
I also don't grow other crops in my current layout. Too many seeds to maintain. 😆
I just focused on potato, tomato, bokchoy, carrots, beans, blueberries, apple and pumpkin.
If I need the other crops, I'd buy it from Badruu or swap it with the crop of the same effect.
Onions potato and cabbage are my main crops atm. I stocked up on beans before this to cook focus food and canned for my animals. I like these 3 cause they take a long time to grow so it's nice for when I was busy with the quests.
I've reached lvl 50 for all skills except for cooking so I don't eat for focus anymore and just sell everything.
Omg, onion has higher profit than carrot? Was it updated or I just wrongly checked before. 🥲
No I just like onions for cooking and the hassle free harvest. Idk if there more profitable.
Sorry, I got confused with the excel above. 😅
Hi, im wondering if there are other ways besides harvesting the crops/weeding that will increase my farming level faster? Im trying to upgrade my tool so i can go hunting artifacts, i need 1 ½ more levels but its sooo slow to grow things and im impatient apparently 😅
What I did before is make sure I eat focus points, this will give bonus level points every harvest.
And then, after work or during weekends while I do household chores, I leave my account online so that the crops will grow. I can replant and harvest multiple times a day.
Ah yep ok cool. Ill go boost my focus bonus and points bar now. Make it even faster. Thank u.
Does anyone have a setup that makes it possible to keep the entire farm plot watered? I know some plants have the AOE effect of keeping other plants watered as well (unless I read it wrong)
I don't know, but maybe this could help you out? You can plan out your garden and see the effects it will have too I believe: https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/
i've used one before but i dont remember what it looked like. i just googled smthn like "palia garden all crops watered"
only issue is weeds. if u dont pick em u gotta water anyways
I'm not really good with layouting cause even in other games where there's farming, I just plant stuff w/o much thinking nowadays, but would this work?
the potatoes dont have water on them tho, if you dont want to water at all
ohhhh it doesn't affect the crop itself, hmm lemme rethink then
maybe throw some tomatoes in there somewhere?
this is tricky now, cause the idea i had was to have the apple trees get the harvest boost and watered, and ig this one does water the entire thing
ig I'll just rely on the harvestboost from glow worms for the apples and beans
yea this would water the whole thing! as long as you just pick the weeds c: the harvest boost is tricky, i'm sure you could figure it out but it might be a bit annoying lol
ehh it's fine, I don't want gardening in general to be too passive anyway or else it becomes boring, it's kinda like why I don't like using automation mods on most farming games y'know :3
oh yeah another question: the description for the weeds say "it's not w/o it's uses", but is there really any reason to keep the weeds apart from some villagers sometimes requesting them for their weekly wants?
mm no, i think it's only used in 1 quest or something like that. so keep one or two in your chest, the rest you can just sell c:
offer of this one to get 100% harvest boost without the use/reliance of the glow worms fertilizer. the layout is set that the bushes and apples are 100% water/wee/harvest, but the layout is also set to only harvest those plants with everything else staying in the ground. if you don't care about the aesthetics of the fully grown crops you can just not tend them, the weeds that will appear on the water retain plants can be left without penalty
I was looking for more of a 100% water retain setup tbh but I'll save this too, I've stockpiled too much harvestboost at this point that I don't need my glow worm machines to run for a while so this could be an interesting layout to try :3
Just put rice in these spots, everything will still be fully watered and both your trees and bushes will be harvest boosted
oh damn yeah this works :3
I wish we had water sprinklers..
oh no i have more bokchoy than i can process 😭 so if you have like 55 bok chooy harvest boosted how many seed makers do you need to have to be able to process them without clogging?
Try 30
I’ve been trialing this one so far. Because I don’t mind pulling weeds but I hate watering.
Thoughts?
I can tell your focus has BEAN on making sure everything is watered : ^)
Yes. Very much so. It’s BEAN a singular focus because I must eat.
seems perfect for what u want it to do
since u dont wanna cook anyways u also dont really need hte single tile hb crops either
some apples to craft stuff alwyas nice
u like beans ALOT
blueberrys not sure what u do with em it hink u use em cuz larger and easy to buff the beans with i guess
I use the beans as both a food source and an income.
I really like lures so I use the apples for lures mainly. I was trying to decide if I like one or two trees to that.
I also use the blueberries for money. I turn them into preserves.
I’m not a fan of cooking because I feel like it’s time consuming and I can’t always find groups for it.
i only dislike eating jars (at my point in the game idc about the $ per focus difference) u have to eat so frequently havign to stop what ur doing to eat 5 things or 1 makes a difference
i approve of ur layout its good
Ahahahha. I get it. Right now I’m still new so I struggle for the money. I know a lot of later players just buy their focus food. I would like to eventually get to there but right now I can eat two cans of beans and get me almost full b
start leveling ur villagers gifting stuff to em and doign their quests and stuff gives alot of renown
in case u wanna speed up ur focus bar XD
dont have to fully lv em just some runs of weekly/daily gifts and a chat with em tons of renown
I’m that far I have the phoenix shrine fully maxed. Have done a couple dragons but not a ton.
sounds liek the classic discovering dragon late XD
Ahahah. Actually I didn’t. lol I upgraded dragon a couple times but focused on Phoenix first.
😮 since low focus amounts canned beans smart
Yeah!!! Easier to keep up with! Until I can get some more money
nobody asked but this is my fav gardening “method”
My first 9x9 Garden build! Early game player, advice appreciated!
quiet solid though lacking in quality up buff which is relevant at lower levels as higher gives star quality always anyways
100% 3 buff layouts with less fertiliser exist though are more complicated to platn and remember
I think this is a very good improvement. 100% will help with a good harvest lol
I also like 100% weed prevention and water retention in my garden~
Although I let 4 crops get weeds in my current layout for aesthetic purposes. 😅
Anyhow, idk if this layout will help you temporarily. I mainly did it to avoid buying weed protection fertilizer.
Once your level increases anyway, you'll end up changing your layout as you get other more profitable seeds, preserve jars and glow worm farms.
please s6 let us have more crafters idk what to do with my crops anymore i have maxed t-t
You used all 30 crafter licenses for only seed makers?
yes i grew too many bokchoy. and i still have eggs to process from my ranch
I have 6 seed makers so far, and juggle bokchoy, potato and beans. I only play after my work though so it's just enough for me.
If ever there's excess harvest, I just wait for the current batch to finish, load the new batch, and it'll be likely be finished by the next day that I will play.
I only have four seed makers
the joy of only harvesting apples and beans, i have 2 seeders and 8 jars
Ahahahaha I’m close to it. I e been harvesting apples, blueberries, potatoes, and cabbage. So four seeders and I think 8-10 jars.
So I was bored. Working on some designs. People are welcome to try them out. They mainly feature apples, blueberries, and beans, with 100 water retention.
Though one has a more symmetrical design and offers a little bit of wheat/rice
Any efficiency garden afk setup ?
I don’t have one. Perhaps someone else does.
So many what type u looking for?
As much money as i can produce ?
Are u limited by crafters?
Crafters, like to make jam ?
Yeah like seeders and preserves
I got 3 seeders and 8 preserves now but it can increase if needed
Maybe 2 more crafters can be added if needed
No amount u can use for gardening
And what is ur gardening lv
between 11 and 13
lv 34 !
If you say AFK farm like no need to go back to your plot every hour to water, this could be an idea.
For aesthetic reasons, I gave up 100% weed protection on 4 crops but it's 100% water retention and most have harvest boost.
Kindly note that this layout is mainly for plot design so I didn't focus on the profit computation but it does made the most money for me out of all the layouts I had.
I'm also no good with profit computation but my money maker consists of 3-6 preserve jars, 3-6 seed makers and 10 glow worm farms. I get the food for glow worms from ranching.
Mh thats low on crafters u font need quality up atleast
Not sure if u got the crafters gor it @sharp jasper
I have no jars and one seeder. I got a long way to go lol
Any recommendations for different gardening plots that I can rotate in order to grow all seeds from time to time? Thnx☺️
I need 30 crafters for this ?????????
More is better but it also depends on how many growthticks u log per day n if u forget to harvest
I don't have at the moment but with 1 layout, just swap out crops that have the same effect. So you won't have to fully change the layout each time you need it.
Great, thanks☺️
Above? Good enuff?
Yee thanks 😄😄
Got home and dug up some layouts I made before. I hope these can add to your ideas.

Thank you so much 🙏🏻❤️❤️
Fertilizer question. Do I need to apply it over the course of the entire lifespan of the apple tree, blueberry bush etc
for it to work 100% guarantee, yes. it needs to be on the crop at every growth tick (6am palia time). remember, apples take 9 fert every tick and the 2x2 crops take 4
you can stack up to 99 fert on a crop so you don't have to worry about forgetting
That is actually quite helpful
Thank you
Guys- so my garden has the dirt separated- does that cause issues with making a lot of money?
I did it mainly for looks while building my base and wasnt thinking about usefulness
putting them together is more crops bordering each other and thus giving buffs
edges and corners get less neighbours and thus less buffs
so it dont have to cost money but it sure costs u convinience with getting wwaterretain weedblock and harvestboost on everyhting
If I am using star seeds do I need to run the quality boost crops (cotton:peppers:pumpkins) or fert?
will answer in 5min
star chance is
25% at lv 0 +2% per lv
star seeds = + 25%
quality up buff = +50% (if on there all the time could be rnaodm chance at applying if on there less or partial effect idk why not have a buff htere 100% of hte time if u need it)
at lv 25 u dont get any benefit from the quality up
note to self at a graph showing the lv effects and which buffs u got etc someday
so star seed at lvl 6 = 12+25=37% chance of star crop
wait no.
Base 25% (constant)
Star 25% (0|25)
lvl 6 = 12% (2% per gardening lvl)
Total chance for star crop 62%.
Yup im pretty sure ud want quality up at that point i have layouts for it
That would be helpful
New build: Most of the noms
the going around and removing weeds doesnt bother me at least!
I normally always have water retain... but hm, I wonder if I should put the dirt together
Harvest boost is also very worth it unles u dont care about the production
Idk if this is a gardening question but please lmk if not 😅 how do y'all go about managing your crops in storage?
i do use that all hte time
I stockpile stuf i dont grow/potentially use in bulk in cooking partys
I keep most processed in the crafter til i can dump another stack in
Same for seeds
Crafter being seed maker I take it
Jarmaker to
Problem I'm having is I'm trying to keep everything at 100 and that normally easy except for crops and seeds because they all have different behavior
I use some for cooking and boom I need to regrow lol
For me, I don't keep crops in my storage. 😁
Once I harvest, I put them right away in seed makers and preserve jars. After it gets processed, I sell all of it except for 20 seeds of what I need for the next planting.
If I don't have enough crops for cooking, I buy from Badruu.
When I started, I'd keep 50 pcs of seeds and harvested crops but you won't need this much anyway.
My general rule for storage, I never hoard common items. I sell them or use it right away for crafting.
I keep 2 to 3 pcs of uncommon and up bugs and fishes. For any starred thing I can display, I display them on 1 empty plot.
For foraged resources, depending on the rarity, I keep 20 minimum for common and as much as I can for rare and up.
But for logs and planks I keep 200 each coz I craft a lot at times.
For ores, I keep 15pcs and craft the rest to bars always. I keep bars at 100pcs minimum.
And I prioritized getting the max storage. I'm constantly at 10k out of 14k.
Well i just did the math and it looks like I can fit 200 items into our storage 70x unfortunately I don't think that's enough for every product, gatherable, material and crop 😅
I'm not good with math so I just simply don't store a lot of what I can easily get.
Think I may adopt to that
Does anyone have a garden layout for everything
I have multiple, and they're all 100% water retain/weedblock. They don't have cotton cause past a certain gardening level it's just not worth growing Here's the link to the compilation of them I made in chat here a while back
#🌱│gardening message
If you want 100% harvest boost, yes, you can see there it needs 15. But if you don't mind not having 100% hb you don't have to use fert
You can see the icons on there
No worries, we all start somewhere. I was pretty confused when I 1st started using the planner
Thank you for this tho. It may be a semi perm to permanent layout
Ofc, happy to help
@mint sandal So I noticed there's pumpkin in the layout but not in the list was that intentional
It's what we usually refer to as a bush, aka, a 2x2 crop
So it's listed, that particular layout pribably says 2 apple trees and 4 bushes
Or I might not have specified bushes cause it was just one of each
Lol it's alright
@mint sandal I could hug you this layout is amazing!
Glad you like it
Anyone got ideas on what crop I should grow to feed worm farms? For harvest boost fertilizer/profit?
Also, I found this on Reddit, is this the most up to date profit chart??
I just feed my normal worms mountain morals and glow worms get apple jam
Do u think soo
Has anyone dealt with disappearing fertilizer? I put water retention on my crops (blueberry/wheat 3x6 setup) and one of the blueberry bushes "lost" 40. The rest of the plants still have their stacks, just 1 blueberry has issues
Yeay that happens for some reason
Apparently if to much fert is on a soil total it hlitches more often
Could it be because I have the blueberry bush on two different gardening plots? It is the only one to have issues
use to have this problem with my apple trees when i used the fertilizer, they were never crossing over plots so don't know why it happened
gosh pumkins are absolutely attrocious why haven't they changed them since release!?
takes forever to harvest, only has 2 harvest, focus is only a few points above beans. like i don't mind if its not a cash crop, we have plenty of those. but at least give this awesome cute crop a useful niche
I'm hoping we get a pumpkin plant crafting recipe like we did with the apple trees, beans, ect.
Imagine how cute that pumpkin field would be?!
They are used in dishes that are very good to make for focus
why do i have to re-till after every harvest of bok choy? is this normal
48hours after less till once no plant on a tile it until
im sorry, can you rephrase
When you harvest Bok Choy, you remove the entire plant, which leaves the soil untilled. This happens with most crops that do not have a "harvestable" tag that allows them to regrow (like Tomatoes)
When you till the soil, it will become untilled after 48 (real-time) hours. This time goes down even when there's a crop on there. So if you leave the bok choy on there for over 48 hours, once you harvest, the soil will become untilled. If you harvest before then it won't
Oh okay, thanks,
That was an old bug/broken code that was fixed over a year ago. Maybe 2 years ago. They really should completely rewrite the code line by line, remove the spaghetti that keeps messing things up and tossing old fixed stuff back into the mix and other things. Like the mix and match bugs. Spaghetti code sucks.
Send in a proper and complete bug report and when you get the return auto-message asking if you want a response say yes that you do. They have a page on the website on how to send in a bug/broken code report. I say broken code, because bugs in games, age just a cute nice way of saying broken code. Just like spaghetti coding is saying a bundled up mess pretty much.
I made my own, before we had the fake plants. Use the Halloween pumpkins, the ferns and the fiddleheads
For now, you can do it with some pumpkins during the Halloween event. I have two small patches in my garden where I plant the pumpkin, more for the aesthetic than profit.
Am I the only one who feels like 9 soil plots arent enough? 😅
nope many poeple wanted farming rather then gardening
are preserved potatoes or canned beans better for focus food? i keep seeing people say beans are the best but this post says potatoes https://www.reddit.com/r/Palia/s/OjPycvI9WM
pickled potatoes give 202 focus if star quality and takes 54 minutes in the preserve jar, while beans are 285 focus at star quality and take 33 minutes in the jar, so yes, beans are better than potatoes
what about the growing time
growth tic of one hour difference, potatoes take 5 growth tics to first and only harvest before replant, and beans take 6 growth tics to first harvest and then have three more harvests at 2 growth tics after
harvest boosted beans also net you 9 crops per harvest while potatoes only get you 3 with harvest boost
Is there a way for me to move my garden plots? I want them side by side
unless you have crops that cross over into other plots (apple or bushes taking space on two plots) you should be able to go into build mode and move them. if you are trying to pick them up and move them to another land plot, you'll need to wait until they de-till themselves (after 48 irl hours) and then pick them up
Ok thank you ill try the first option
I. Need. More. Soil. Plots. >:( man, I wish we had farming instead of gardening
u like hte plant growing part or just want more xp/gold
or need more ingredients for cooking?
I like the aestetic, and just the entirety of hoeing, planting..
we can give u layouts to optimise those things how about tryhard rice n bokchoi
and aesthetics uhm there do exist fake crops to grow(remembers fake ranching with cow plushies lmao)
I knoow, but Im not much into the tryhard hahaha
uhm at least ot garden more stuff u can farm flowers but htye are impossible to place ocd proof
or grow trees as well
Should I do potatoes or tomatoes? Mainly there to pair with my cabbages for water retain. But which is better for price wise.
Hi! I accidentally removed my first apple seed while fixing my garden 🥲 I don’t have any apples yet, so I can’t make another and I had no luck with the in-game request. I’d have to wait until next week for medals… is there any other way to get one?
Sadly no. But can help you if you want to friend me
omg i'd be so grateful ☺️
What is your IGN @low wyvern
Potato then tomato then cabbage best if constant harvesting snd best provessing
I just dropped a crops guide on Reddit, wanted to share here too
its kisimyaka
Added
Im at a friends house, shes afk but can you collect from those apple trees ? Would be great to free garden space and grow cooking stuff
Or are they just decorations you can't interact with
Just decor!
If you’re set to an editor on their plot, you can harvest and get the loot I believe. Same with chopping trees and hitting the rocks
They're from the Planterlife decor set if you want to add them to your own plot!
Oh are those the fake trees? Yeah just decor
I was asking more in a way that if I have them on my plot. Those are the planter apple thingies from guild, right ?
Yes
Sad. Then I'll stick to gardening apples for now. Make money selling apple jam hehe
Yeah they’re just for decor, but pretty to look at
When promoted to editor on a friends plot you can only help water, weed, and till, as far as gardening goes
u can do that as visitor and even on tours XD
Yeah nothing changes you are right
but someone had mentioned they thought editors could harvest and get the loot
Maybe talking about ranching as that could be different
You can harvest iirc but don't get the loot. Only thing you can get loot from is when you cook together and maybe if you chop trees/break rocks together? Not too sure about that last part though
i believe you get the wood and stone if you hit the tree with the host, since flow tree parties were a thing for a bit when people were able to get a lot of flow seeds on their plots
I've never been able to harvest on any of my friends plots, not since the beginning. Only thing you can do is weed, water, till.
You can't even put down fertilizer to help them out.
But as Duhscape and I were discussing, these things a visitor can do as well.
Yes. I want large scale industrial farming. 😭
Yeah I kinda wish the planterlife decors (or w/e they're called) actually yielded some produce tbh, maybe not to an efficient degree but more just similar to the kitsuu thing that gives u random stuff
Oh! The ability to get like 1 apple a real day or maybe 1 a week would be really nice. Somehow find a way to allow bigger harvests without making it overpowered
i would think one a irl day and it always be regular quality would be fine, still not over powered and allows for higher level people to get regular quality crops again for gifting until they allow star quality gifting
Hey. Could someone help me with early game 9x9 layout?
Anyone else slightly annoyed with how you can plant regular quality seeds and get 20+ star quality and only 2 regular quality? I'm gardening lvl 30 btw.
that's typical/standard, at those higher levels you're pretty much guaranteed starred produce.
if you're concerned about cooking, using the 'use star ingredients' check box on the recipe card allows both starred and unstarred. buying from badruu can keep you stocked on non-starred for requests, for some things.
I actually just logged in for this, so that answers that question
If I'm always growing starred apples how am I supposed to make honey lures?? I hate requesting apples all the time
Just make them with the starred apples
Everytime I try it tells me they have to be regular, should I put in a ticket?
You should see an option to click for the starred to be used. If you want to take a screenshot, happy to look at your screen for you
What crops do you have access now?
For the Gardeners oneness quest I have grown the acorn to maturity but the quest did not progress
Nvm I picked it up and placed it again
I logged back in today and checked again and it's working 🙌 thank you!
Please could you show me your gardening plot setups? im in need of some inspo 🙂 thank you
I hope it helps~
got an entire library of em so if u can tell what inspo ur looking for i can send some
Rate my layout
There's a lot you can find if you google it too
Classic max sticker
Here's a bunch of mine. All 100% water retain/weedblock. All but the cross layout are everything gardens
#🌱│gardening message
Does making star crops into seeds give star seeds?
yes
What's a max sticker
Soil tilling gives stickers n other stuff so anything that results in soil not having crops after 48h
Though just get ur stickers from someone who has doubled is better
Can I use that also to help
Am i too late? I havent touched the garden stuff :x all i have is the Basic ones
is there a way to pick back up seeds? i put the onion in the wrong spot
You can destroy it but not get the seed back, sry
Use the secondary action button/key. Should be the same as what you use when filling up the watering can
How can I get more even though I have the max
Hi. I would like some help with a layout 3x3. I would like to have tomato, wheat , batterfly bean and onion on it. I don't have pumpkin, Apples , pepper , blueberry or Apple.
Get more what? If you mean how to get more than 9 soil plots it's impossible cause, as you said, it's the max
Hi @steady gull These are some of my old layouts~
Where i can check ?
Oh, ok. Thanks!
Does anyone have a good layout for gardening where I only have time to like play like log in once a day?
40% bad
Yes got something perfect for u
Wow nice. I think I might try this but swap the berry for beans, cause I don't have time to do cooking parties anymore 😭
I chose berrys cuz u can leave rm alone gor longer but yes u can substitute
the only reason i'm not a fan of this layout is because it's reliant on the worm farms to get the harvest boost on the two corner bushes. if you don't do the ranching or much fishing to put into them, it's not as "set it and forget it" on the bushes
Can slso not use em stil better thrn ond les bush plus u can change corner 2x2s into any 2x2
Can someone help please…I can harvest, rake and water but I can’t sow or add fertiliser. I get a moving line circling the individual plot when I put either seeds or fertiliser and the plant appears over the plot but it just won’t accept it . The fertiliser won’t drop on either empty or planted plots. What am I missing? Just realised I can’t water a harvested/empty plot either, only one already planted. I am slowly running out of produce as I can’t replace what I harvest 🙁
How does your layout look?
The fertilizer can be seen if you click 'Examine' and it will show how many fertilizers are in a cell.
At times, the watering crops (potato, tomato and cabbage) will automatically water the crop beside it after harvest.
My layout hasn’t changed for months and I have been successfully replacing my crops after harvest in exactly the same spaces as before. I know how to see the amount of fertiliser - thats not the problem. It is like it is glitched and after the final harvest of say a tomato, the crop disappears so I rake the plot to get it ready to sow again but then it will not take a seed or fertiliser even though the new tomato plant shows itself over the intended plot. When I hit the button to plant it does nothing and the plot remains empty. I also have this moving line going round and round the square I wish to plant in or fertilise when I have selected the seed or fertiliser which is new. My garden is slowly reducing as I cannot replant after final harvest of each crop.
Does anyone have a 6 by 6 crop layout that includes corn
Is there some bug going on with gardening? I just woke up and my garden hasn't changed at all, there is nothing for me to harvest. I got a good amount of 8 hours of sleep or more, and yet there wasn't any growth tick. My crop layout has 100% weed blocker and water retention.
no bug, just working as intended, crops only grow one stage when you are offline then they stop
Oh I see, since the game runs even offline I assumed it would grow in each ingame day, thanks for answering my question^^
not a problem, and yeah, the crafters all still run their times, just the crops stop growing
Will we ever get lettuce? Or is it lost like the modification kits i still have as a souvenir? 😂 i almost forgot about these
This may be a dumb question but when I put the harvest boost fertilizer or any fertilizer the next morning it’s gone when I go to water it do I need to keep putting more fertilizer or does it stay cause I been using so much fertilizer just on 2 apple trees 😖
fertilizer needs to be placed on the crops at every growth cycle (6am palia time) in order for it to be 100% effective. you can stack fert up to 99 on a crop, but the amount used is determined by how many tiles the crop takes up in the garden (1 tile crops uses 1 crop per growth tic, 2x2 bushes and beans use 4/tile and the apples take 9/tile)
Ohhh ok tyvm!
do flowers still give out seeds when you plant and water them? i need a loot of certain plants and bushes and would like to know if i need to go to a lot of bloom events or can slowly increase them by growing the ones i have and getting seeds from them
Varies per flower/bush
Flowering bushes and cypress tree are ones you can only get from bloom plus one of the flowers. Not on atm and have brain fade on name but is the one with light purple balls of flowers. The rest are ones you can get seeds from
the one i need a lot of is gardenias, do you know if those give out seeds?
Yes they do 👍
Just a random thought coz I also joined the Ranching channel, talking about breeding traits like cosmetics and stuff.
I wonder if gardening can also have it like Electric Blueberry or Sparkly Apples lol
Nope just starred and unstarred
Yeap, I know. 😁
It's just a random thought for garden plants to have cosmetic traits as well like what the animals have in the ranch.
okay guys i have been away for over a year. how has gardening changed since then lol
does anyone have a layout that requires low maintenance and focuses on apples , blueberry’s, pumpkins, peppers, potatoes, and batterfly beans?
Sortof u can modify the following maybe
2 new crops dont have to use em though some new dishes not meta though so same crop farming mostly
thank uuu
alr i’ll try it out tysm
what can i change in that layout to potatoes tho that wont affect the maintenance of it too much
Cabbage turn into potato
Incase u dont want to use waterretain fert u need different layout
alr i’ll just stick w that
So, an inventory seen in the latest video teaser showed Speedy Gro fertiliser. Probably given as ranching produce, is my guess.
Do you reckon they might have fixed the bugs with it?
does anyone know how long it takes for the soil to untill? because i want to move my farm to a different plot but won't be able to move it until then... and i think i'm on like crop 3 or 4 of waiting haha
48 irl hours
Maybe I'm just being thick here, but I need normal onions and I'm planting normal onion seeds and mainly only getting starred onions. Why is this? I've tried planting just a few onion seeds and nothing else, spaced out, and still only starred onions. 😕😂
You do not need normal onions.
For cooking, just click the 'use starred ingredients' option.
If there are starred ingredients you do not want to use, put them in locked storage and it will use unstarred versions of the ingredients you have instead.
After Gardening level 38, it is impossible to get unstarred onions through Gardening (but you can buy them from Badruu I think)
Oh really? So I I used a starred dish and it needed, for example, a starred dari clove and I placed them in the safe box, it would still cook the meal using unstarred dari cloves and starred everything else? If so, thank you, I didn't know that!
Yes.
It's a common misconception, dw
Did they show speedy dpecifically not just fert?
#🐔│ranching message
All fertilisers
It might mean nothing, but considering that the father icon for Dawnspur is fert...
Could be devs unaware its hlitchy but more sbility to get it is always nice for lv grinders
Personally speedy grow means even more gardenwork sigh
Yeah, that's my thought - do they even realise?
Question do the seed makers and other things stop working once your online? before i swear they used to keep working same with your plants growing?
They should continue working until they run out of items to produce or out of slots to store the (unstarred, if applicable) end product in.
apologies if this gets asked often, but is there a current best/recommended layout that uses all crops?
There's no definite "best" layout since everyone's needs are different based on how often they play and what they do with their harvest. I do have multiple layouts that have every crop (except cotton) and are 100% water retain/weedblock though if you want. In most of those you can replace some of the grains (corn, wheat and rice) if you want cotton but growing cotton past a certain gardening level is kinda useless, especially if you aim for profit
#🌱│gardening message
thank you! is cotton/fabric not useful for crafting purposes after a certain point?
Not unless you craft furniture like crazy, so it's litterally cheaper to buy fabric and save your garden for more lucrative crops
Does anyone have the perfect layout for maximum profit and level increase?
#🌱│gardening message and #🌱│gardening message - exp notes
#🌱│gardening message - an old post of mine linking to lots of different good layouts (you'll probably want the link to profit based layouts). Nothing has changed in gardening since this post but it is possible Andrea may have made some new Everything layouts that aren't linked
Note that the most profitable layout is just pure Bok Choy with harvest boost fertiliser on everything. Manual watering and weeding, replanting every 3 in game days. It's a lot of effort. The linked posts tend to be a bit more convenient.
I'm wondering if we will get a 2x2 water retain buff crop from the update, or a different 3x3.
We got new crops with the EW update, so it seems likely we will get some more with this one too.
Naturally, I'm a bit more focused on the Ranching additions, but interested to see how Gardening might be affected too.
Hm, I don't think I made much more new ones, I been pretty inactive on Palia for the past few months. I litterally spend more time in the discord than in the game itself lol. Lemme check though
I just recently discovered this farm layout using all the crops, maybe this helps :) if anyone has ideas on how to maximize it further,i'd love to know^^
Understood, I kinda do the same haha - I spend more time checking Ranching channel than actually playing.
Perhaps the new adventure zone will shake things up, we'll see.
yeay go work on that dawnspur minmaxing guide for sure for sure
2x2s in the corners is quite inefficient as you can never get 3 buffs on the corner crops without fertiliser. Having those as 2x2s means you have more produce not getting 3 buffs unless you use fertiliser (but it also means more fertiliser needed)
Cotton is generally not recommended by the time you get apples simply because it's not a great cash crop and making fabric is on average more expensive than growing something like rice and selling that instead.
I'm not a fan of single grains that aren't paired with another Harvest Boost Crop personally either.
Astrea has made a lot of layouts using all the crops (some with, some without cotton) - if you wanted to just compare those rather than work on improving your layout, follow the links in the post 2 above yours.
- i am allowed to use 2x2s on corners cuz i k what im doing >:D
Sure, it's allowed, I just said it's inefficient. And if they aren't using fertiliser, I wouldn't recommend it
Ok, I just checked and I've made these 2 everything gardens after the ones you already mention as new after compilation
#🌱│gardening message
#🌱│gardening message
I should go see if I can fit all those in my compilation post
Oof, I only have 43 characters left in that post...thanks for checking though Astrea!
If you don't manage to fit them in your Compilation post, I'll see what I can do to save characters in that post tomorrow 🙂
Yeah, also I think I might've added the 1st 2 already, am double checking rn. If they're in there it means you'd be able to save characters lol
Not sure what we will even need to minmax a Dawnspur in all honesty. If it's just min-maxing for the most fertiliser (that's what I'm expecting regular Dawnspur to give), that'll likely be the same as other animals (unless Horses can't use normal treats and only mount-related treats...who knows!)
no i mean for riding
Ah, yeah, we'll see what is needed for that
Though from trait descriptions we saw in the video, it will be a compromise between speed and turning ability
but what if u can have multiple dawnspurs 😄
You can, species limit was shown as 10. But I imagine only 1 can be registered as your mount at a time
They are indeed in there already, so only the 2 I linked you are missing rn. Ima try and fit them in, idk how many characters I have left
@supple stone
Also, it is possible that speed/turning speed could be different between the different horse species, and I highly doubt they will all be ridable for free, so I may be unable to test that myself
Cool, thanks for checking! Appreciate that! I bet I could fit one in tomorrow. Unsure about 2, but I'd try 🙂
to keep my dawnspur questions gardening related i just have to ask should we feed em carrots, apples or sugar
they will have rocket turbo for sure
gues il stick to my apple jams to insta fill food bars
Think focus was /300 in the video, which makes Canned Beans still very good
Apple Jam is expensive, but it works
Ofc! But if you're gonna remove the 2 old links I assume the 2 new ones should fit in. I'll try adding them to my compilation 1st though, maybe you won't even need to link them
what if links to list of links
Yeah, my compilation is basically a list of links to my everything layouts. Rn they have also bullet points of extra things included (like more apples, bushes or grains) as well as how much fert is needed for 100% hb. I might have to drop those descriptions at some point to save character space though
Are there some gardening layouts for low (Level 5) with no seeding/jars yet? Something I can put it to both level up in a 9x9 grid and make some sort of profit? A lot of the layouts I find are level 25 gardening with expectations of (idk, I'm not there yet)
while u can run the 25 lv ones its just very suboptimal
il get u the generic low level
Thank youuuuu
Many thanks!
...I was being dense and not fully understanding. You're right. My pc is off for the night now though, but will do that in the morning.
Thanks for being the sensible one hehe
It's also possible that you might need to rework everything in a couple weeks to fit in new crops...
No worries haha, brains don't always brain, I know mine is fried more often than not after work lol
Then you'd have fewer Everything Gardens to fit into a post, so more space for descriptions!
Truuue. Though I hope they'll up the cap on soil plots if we get new crops
(And it is bed time haha)
I highly doubt it... But that's definitely going to be a common complaint.
IF they do actually add more crops. I'm just thinking it might be likely due to how EW added 2
Yeah. Though if they add in 1 tile crops we can definetely deal with that no problem. If they add a new bush or tree it'll be more problematic logistically when making everything garden layouts
100%
Though I would like 2x2s with water retain and weed block. I have no idea if I would use them (would depend on factors like profitability, yield and recipes), but they just feel like they are missing rn
Oooh, that'd be interesting to play with for sure
But anyways, you mentionned it is bed time for you so ima let you go to sleep now
Haha, yes, thank you. Night!
Goodnight!
Good news! You won't even have to link the 2 newest layouts as add-ons cause I managed to fit both in my compilation post thanks to some rewording
u playing character golf on ur messages nice
Uh?
u know how with golf less hits is better
golfing other stuff is reducing it like gold coding making a program with as little as possible code to ge tthe result
or golfing wha tu take with u on holidays just to see what u can get away with
Oooh
Thank you for this, I'd found a plan but it wasn't really making me happy and I like this one better. :3
Aw, thanks!
Guess I can free some characters by deleting those extra links too 🙂
So once you get the seed thing-a-mabob, is the goal to always convert crops to seed before selling? or are there crops I shouldn't be converting? That's before being able to do preserves
Hello! I've been trying to look for information about this but I've been unsuccessful. Why is it that when I plant my crops with non star quality seeds I still get 99% star quality vegetables? I really just want the normal quality for an easier time cooking. Is this because I have higher skill in gardening?
Also to add - I try not to plant quality boosting crops.
It is because of your skill level yes
Seeds will be worth more than the crops themselves, so yes sell those if you can! Whether it's better to sell seeds or to sell preserves (or other produce) depends on the crop, but until you can do preserves, seeds is the best.
answer is loading holdon
So forgive my newbie question. How do I go about getting more non star quality vegetables then? Or how do the higher level players make food? Cause I feel like foraging for things outside rarely net me star quality stuff. I also feel like I go through so much food when I'm out and doing stuff
ah the common misconceptiona bout needing starred forage 99% of the playerbase has
u just click allow starred so u can use ur starred veggies and if u run out of starred stuff u can select unstarred stuff
this does sometimes cuz a situation where u want to use ur cheapo unstarred spice sprouts for any spice but u only have a rare starred dariclove left so u then lockbox ur starry dariclove so u can select the unstarred spice sprouts
i should probably put the proper answer to this in my faq channel .... nah il do that later - he said last year to-
I didn't know it worked like this, Thank you so much for helping me! <3 Really changed my perspective on gardening hehe
ur still in bad luck if poeple forget the a llow starred checkbox or if u want to gift something to someone
Hi, very very new to the game. Gardening for the first time, on PS, can’t figure out how to water my crops. Help!
I know for Switch and Xbox is the left trigger. You can check the controls in the menu
Fill up your watering can with triangle in a body of water and water the crops with R2 iirc (if not R2 it'll be L2, I took an extended break from playing so am not sure which it is)
Is this layout worth it? Profit wise
Pumpkins take a long time to grow and don't have a great yield so I'd say no
What would the best bok layout then?
for which buff and gardening lv?
Ok any tips and tricks for us players missing the Hidden Mask quest from tilling soil?
Max sticker layout
Basically make sure u got plants that dont take all week to be gone specifically when u dont log many growthticks so faster groeing crops every 48irl h after tilling ur soil gotto be rmpty
I will give that a try I suppose growing Apples all the time hinders my chances, thank you!
Yeay that must be the main problem or u could cozy forever till one day getting it
Limited time playing every year 2-3 months, rl has to happen.
Could also just not plant anything for abit if u got no reason to garden
Only tilling
True
I think something is a little broken
it let me pick the same tomatoes and pumpkins twice
stonks
When gardening, is there any risk to leaving certain grown crops unpicked to keep the benefits they give to nearby crops? I'm further on into the game (most skill levels 15/20) but don't know some fundamentals about gardening lol
Their buff will still apply to nearby crops
Okay idk anything about gardening I want to grow blueberries and beans (both star) and idk what else any setup ideas? Maybe carrots potato’s tomato’s?
Is it just me or is gardening a bit overwhelming?
The profit from processing batterfly beans to seeds seems INSANE! Like much higher than other crops! Not complaining though i just chucked most of my beans into my seeders haha
Its overwhelming until you find a gardening layout/ process you like!
Would this be useful? They dont have all the buffs but when i have some time i could do one with full buffs
Also does anyone use gardening as their main source of income? i use it for a bit of money on the side but i dont grind enough for it to be my main money maker
That looks like the old numbers. They changed Bean seeds to need 2 Beans per seed
It was my main income source for a while. Now Ranching is.
I don't play much each day
Most people copy a layout from someone else and just stick to that. That's all you really need.
I have some garden planning tips and links to a compilation of layouts in this post #🌱│gardening message
Of course, you are welcome to ask questions.
What's your gardening level?
But Duh has a max beans layout with blueberries here #🌱│gardening message
If you want to ensure that everything is starred, might need some quality up buff, depending on your gardening level
I see! So gold value per bean is more like 70ish? I check against the 21 seeds i had and 21 beans and the profit is still reall good 21x star seeds - (2,835) 21 star beans - (882)
oh actually i have to compare to 42 beans
42 beans - 1764
Decent-ish profit. Whats the best method for slow grower profit? im aware that bok choy is the most profitable when it comes to gold per hour but its too hands on for me i like an afk farm. Would it be apples?
You might appreciate the table at the bottom of this post #🌱│gardening message
For multi-tile crops, Beans are most profitable but only take 2 days between their harvests. Apples are 2nd best multi-tile crop and the least effort intensive.
I still prefer beans though, simply because Canned Beans is actually a very good lazy food source
Thank you! With all my cooking parties i do im sorted for focus food for literally years, HAHAH
i currently do an afk layout with apple trees, bloobs and beans, but i might swap the bloobs for more beans cos i don't really need blueberries anymore
Sounds like the common afk apple setup by Sylvablade
do y'all not just plant whatever wherever and water it like twice an irl week?
Im unfamiliar with that!
It's linked in the post I just linked you, afk layouts link
Absolutely not haha
don't tell Badruu on me
Oh amazing ive saved it! Thanks
This is the one i used which is near identical haha :)
Course not. You can garden as much or as little as you like!
ill try the sylvablade one next
Probably won't be a huge difference in what you generate, but Sylva's idea was make it so that she could just harvest the Beans/Blueberries and Apples, leave everything else. Ultimate afk mentality haha
Oh yes thats what i do, i dont touch the buff-providing crops. Might just stick with mine then if the outcome is roughtly the same
Theres too much to do in palia to be tending to my garden all the time hehe
Main issue with yours for me is that the peppers don't have harvest boost buff imo
But it can be a hassle changing layouts haha
Nope it is
Yes i just noticed that too as you were typing that! i wont have to change much in the layout so i can not use fertilisers at all, will be worth it. cant wait to re-do it now haha
fully protected afk profit farm here i comeeeeee
I will say, I do half expect new crops in the update in 2 weeks.
That might shake layouts up a bit
Am i correct in thinking the fertilisers "applied" in sylv's layout just mark which crops are providing buffs to the trees and bushes? So the central bok choys are not "doing anything" and just for a teeny bit extra profit?
I honestly love finding the best garden layouts so kind of looking forward to this and seeing what people cme up with
Do ask for a personalised layout if u need it then id happily make it
So, those are the fertilisers you would need while the buff crops are growing if you want 100% on buff coverage. But it's entirely optional, and if you don't harvest the buff crops, completely unecessary
Oh so they grow/deweed without manual intervention? Yeah wont be harvesting so im happy for them to have weeds and be dry as hahah. Poor plants
Exactly.
Keep in mind that if u get 9 weeds total all crops “stop” growing though
Yeah, should only be a max of 8 weeds on those layouts though I think
Alright question everyone! whats the best plant or plants to grow for money every 30 days in game? what gives me the most gold and from that plant or plants what shoukld i do jam maker or seed maker? i used to do lines of bok choy and tomatos but i dont know if im really maximizing how much gold i could be making
No, because I don't know what you mean by 'every 30 days in game'?
And if you had nothing to give Harvest boost, Bok Choy + Tomatoes isn't amazing for profit. Non-Harvest Boosted Bok Choy is still decent, but not as amazing.
I'm going to refer you to this post for the moment #🌱│gardening message
Like whats the best plant you can grow so like the best profit you can get every 30 days if you compare plants and i did have harvest boost and than seeded the bok choy and the tomatos i put into the jam maker
Nothing comes close to full Bok Choy with Harvest Boost fertiliser, manual watering and weeding. Very effort intensive.
really? huh
exuse me the bullseye one, how does that work? cause 100 hundred percent of alot of things do the plants just do that or do i have to have different fertilizers?
The plants do it, but corners can only have 2 buffs without fertiliser so corners need fert for 3 bufs
Companion planting is super powerful :D
But there is always an effort-revenue tradeoff
oop i see now im stupid lolll
ah yeah i think im going to do that one tho i dont wanna have to water im lazy XD
yeah manual watering is... a lot
yeah i think this honstly does the best and only have to sacrifice planting wierdly.. besides loosing a few grand of profit eh
its still producing over 140k tho so
I'm hopeful that we might get a 2x2 water retaining crop in the next update
Oh how great would that be
Imagine a water retaining or weedblocking tree, that'd be cool too
Absolutely! Heck, if there was a tree that gave one of those buffs, you could have a grid of trees and only need a single type of fertiliser for full buff coverage (and considering it looks like Dawnstar proabbly gives fertiliser, it might not be too hard to accomplish)
(And that's not to mention if there was a tree for both)
Thing is, the planner's numbers compare the ideal results of the layout - meaning it assumes that you never miss watering/weeding your crops, and you also always harvest and replant on time. 100% water/weed layouts don't do anything about the latter, but they make the former much more likely to happen (since the buffs do it automatically)
Also, wb to the skill channels for this short stint Ren
basically, tryhard bok choy is much more affected by human error, and if the person considering them is, like me, VERY prone to human error... 😂
Some folks are bang on with the watering, weeding, and replanting, though! and more power to 'em
I was summoned, and now I fade away again XD
Well, know that your presence was appreciated!
There are definitely growth ticks I just don't bother checking my Garden, and if I knew I had to manually do stuff, that would be more common I'm sure
I'm just looking forward to hopefully having some new crops to play with. Preferably multi-tile crops for convenience haha
Omg, yeeees!
A water retaining orange tree could be cool. Or pear
even lazier tree layouts more lazy more happy
Did they increase the number of garden plots you can have in game ?
They didn't, no, it's still 9. If you're only looking for decorative plants, you can use the Planterlife decor though, it's available in the gardening guild store.
Ty! Didn’t think so.
I don't have any friends that play but wanted to share somewhere. I just hit gardening 50 and its my first skill to hit 50! I am so excited, total surprise because I wasn't really paying attention to it.
anyone later or end game mind sharing your garden layout and telling me what your goals or wants from your layout are? been working on a solver and unfortunately certain conditions or goals just arent fully solveable yet so wanna compare it on what some people use.
I can share any changes to your layout it comes up with or not up to you since I dont wanna step on any toes
If you want a bunch of different layouts, I'll refer you to this post #🌱│gardening message
General conditions people look for:
-
Profit. Most profit is full Bok Choy with HB fert, next is a mostly Bok Choy but with some grains to give HB to everything (the profit compilation link has one like this, see Aquajj's layout for an example. I think it might be possible to get 1 less grain in there though).
-
full water/weed buffs. Most layouts posted in those compilations fulfil this. This is for convenience.
-
'afk' layouts, where there's minimal replanting.
-
having every crop present (see the Everything Garden layouts)
-
quality up. More for lower levels as quality up becomes less useful as you a) get access to star seeds and b) gain gardening levels
-
fertiliser use. Some people want none at all, some don't want shop bought fertiliser (although it looks like this will be possible to get from Ranching soon. That said, harvest boost fertiliser will still be the easiest to get large amounts of using the worm farms, I reckon). Very few people would be happy to have very high fertiliser needs.
Also, some people might prefer to have fertiliser only on larger crops (less clicking to reapply a full stack but it lasts longer). I prefer fertiliser on single tile crops as it lasts much longer between applications and never bugs out if the crop crosses soil plots.
As for my personal layout, #🌱│gardening message
It's a compromise between a lot of the points I mentioned.
Mostly multi tile crops for more convenience, the single tile crops are slightly skewed more to bok choy for profit reasons. 100% HB/water/weed buffs. I tried to bring down fertiliser as much as possible, but with so many multi-tile crops, this was the best I could do. As I only fertilise single tile crops, I have no issue with bought fertiliser
Hope that's the sort of thing you were hoping for?
I'd say another good layout with clear goals is Duh's max apple layout #🌱│gardening message
Aims were max apples + full HB/water/weed buffs
my goal is max lazy passive income i use 5 afk blueberrys and 4 afk apples all harvest boosted and i only harvest the bigger plants
Oh, and another goal that people tend to like is symmetry.
symmetry is defintely not something my solver is even remotely good at currently lol
what xo u mean by mkaing a solver?
also im a solver to XD a human one ready to help anyone here
basically a "better" version of this https://paliapedia.com/tools/garden
makes significantly better layouts albeit requires beefy hardware
oh yeay absolutely noone hsould use that thing
that website is only usefull as a databse of stuf fin the game so u can look up items and quests in my opinion
here is what my solver currently has me using understanding I just started so my gardening level is 3. I cant use most things currently like processing or most plants
want a better layout for low levels?
this is the best 4 buff layout for single tile corps only
u can literly not improve upon it sadly
that website does show this one produces less profit per growth tick if I set both to either use star seeds or not use star seeds
might be a misunderstanding on my part though
oh nvm I clicked on the wrong tab LOL
u can substitute the crop choices for more coins
i just picked em to be easily distinguishable and since its an weedblock+water retain layout u probs want less work(choices also got most insync harvestreseed times) otherwise just ditch the weedblock unles u wan tmore money then get more bokchoit to seed
honestly I havent been touching fertilizer I should look at fertilizer setups
so far just been running without any
it helps make the layouts better tbh but it shouldnt be necesary
like this layout since its for lower levels they are earlier in game hence i designed it to use more waterretrain weedblock fert rather then hb quality up to 100% everyhting (cottond otn need to be quality upped since u just loom it)
as u can just buyt htose ferts from zeki
my layout was just most profit I could fit with no fertilizer and max water + weed just so I could ignore it while I did all my other things in the game
once u get higher level u can ditch quality up buff making the entire endeavor WAY easier
yeah already factored that in soon as I noticed that
eligos u could also go for a way simp[ler layout since u dont really need weeedblock
and u need the weedwhacker achivement as a beginner anyways
does anything accelerate time when farming? I saw one green fertilizer that I got as a gift did something but havnt seen where to buy
you referring to the speedygro fert? you can get more from buying from badruu's guild store
currently medals its kinda bugged dont use it unles ur speedrunning xp
I saw that fertilizer is kinda bugged and problematic
solid green one
medals ar elimited to so u kinda dont wanna consume em like that
rumoir has it dawnsspurs that are coming to rnahcing can produce that fert
👍
gardening medals buy wells the only medal furniture thats usefull and u probs want alot of em
alright implemented force symmetry as an option
just a quick test run not an actual output since I didnt actually give it enough time to run and looks like its working! thanks guys 😄
Ur running a super computer to make this or?
eh its not that beefy. I already had a pretty good program for finding solutions thanks to a different game that had a similar complexity problem. the spare computer im using to solve this is a 7950x3d
not using any gpu for it since this problem isnt linear enough to really benefit from it
alright what I have got so far all designed for early game before you have access to gardening guild. Fertilizer usage was capped to 20 and store only.

need to fix a few bugs before I improve this
Impressive eligos
(Still prefers his own layouts)
I would prefer you to prefer your own layouts! Luckily it's all close enough it's pretty subjective and everyone can like their own thing
does anyone want a 3 tree everything farm thats also pretty pleasing to look at?
Fairly similar to the 3 apple layout I use (only I have 2 more 2x2s in there and 1 more fertiliser needed).
Though, I don't have cotton, which reduces my fertiliser need a tiny bit.
Why is Rice present above the Blueberry Bush and Beans? Would be easier to have HB fert on the corners, without Rice, and that could allow a little less fertiliser as well
Yeah that would be better, it was just a case of its technically more profit I just hadnt taken the time to walk back the fertilizer cap yet and I probably should have done the
For me, as soon as I'm looking at an everything garden, then I'm not really looking at max profit, but convenience.
But I see your point!
can anyone help me figure out an early game afk garden (mainly water retain) for profit, i also raided ew for some beans so i dont have to cook focus food
❤️
With some of these layouts, mainly for profits, how many seed makers and preserve jors should I have? I currently only have 2 seed makers and 1 preserve jar. Also, if I don't do cooking parties (most of them are while I'm at work), is it even worth having apple trees or blueberry bushes?
apples are always usefull cuz u need apples for honeylures though u could let others bring those for u
apples and blueberrys are way less work more itles planted harvested at hte same time and they can be left alone for a long time if water retained and weedblocked
Took your inspiration and made my own hyper lazy layout I'll probably use later 😂
got a super super lazy no fert one with 4 blueberries and a 5 blueberry one that needs 4 fert
OH MY PHOENIX!!!
bruh u made the holygrail of garrdening layouts urs is even better hten mine
and they are even knapweed bug proof
Personally, I tend to go for something like this #🌱│gardening message
That was when it was the Jamboree, so more Corn than I would usually actually use (I'd replace the Rice with Wheat and the Corn with Rice, plus I tend to go Onions rather than Carrots)
I often don't bother too much with quality up, even early on, but that's partly being lazy.
I'm sure tehre would be a better layout that used a bunch of cotton and still had good coverage of the other buffs
bows in awe of @zenith jasper
i have been bested ur machine can make better layouts then i ever can
eh you definitely beat it in most areas and layouts! certain criteria is just easier for it than others
want acces to my entire library for training it?
oh its not AI so no training
im still gonn ause my own layout but thats just cuz i find it easier to remember and its barely worse infact its only worse cuz i needs some fert but i got tons of it anyways -cries in 6 overflowing wormfarms- fert usage at least helps with use fert weekly
but i shoudl so save urs
That really depends on your garden layout, how many growth ticks you get per day, how many crafter slots you have unlocked and if you have different crafters running all the time.
Some crops are more crafter intensive than others (eg seeding Bok Choy/Potatoes is slower than preserving most other single tile crops).
It's generally a case of adding more crafters until you are managing to keep up with what your Garden produces.
I think I have 17-18 seed collectors/preserve jars at present?
As for apples and blueberries. Apples are very lazy crops. So they can be good because of that. They're also the 2nd most profitable multi-tile crop, behind Beans (if you seed the Beans). Blueberries, not so worthwhile if you don't cook with them imo
Impressive layouts, but can't say I'm a huge fan of the look
gues it takes a while to get replaced by ai
-gets replaced by hard coded stuff instead-
alright it managed to prune the entire range of xy symmetry with fertilizer and not caring about weedblock so that layout is officially optimal for new new players. with weedblock timed out so needs more clauses first to optimize that
we should get eligos the wizard nametag for sure
its essentially fancy brute force https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAT_solver
I'll have to be quick if we do get new crops are released with the upcoming update, to try and make a new update I like before your solver 😄
il be sure to test the new crops if we get any
tell you what, ill wait a week before posting solutions with new crops unless people specifically ping me and ask for solutions
give people time to have fun and build their own layouts
i ttakes a whole week at least to get the data on what the new crops do though btu yes such a smart move
Nah, DW about it haha
Most people don't care about making their own layouts. And the race could be fun
This was said mostly jokingly
Thanks! I now only have 2 seeders and 2 preserve jars. I need to get more, but feel like I need to make a bunch more money. I can probably pull up a couple of other crafters.
Is there a good (read afk/profitable/lazy) layout with apples and beans that is 100% weed block/water retention around?
with harvest everything or without?
Both, if it's not too difficult, but I might try without harvest everything first. IF I can keep myself from harvesting stuff! lol
Afk and lazy are essentially the opposite of profitable layouts.
All gardening layouts can make decent money, but if you want to fully optimise it, it gets much less lazy.
I'd advise having a look through the layouts here #🌱│gardening message
Anything that has blueberries, you can generally replace them for beans (exception is if the blueberries are relying on beans for harvest boost)
See what catches your eye, we can help give things that suit you better if you give feedback on what exactly you want, like if there's a layout that looks great but you want more or less of one crop for example
so 100% harvest maximize how many apples and beans there are? give me an hour or so
actually wait, just swap the blueberries in this for beans. except that only lets you farm those. ill make one for farming all if nothing else looks good
I rarely fully optimize anything, honestly. Right now I don't have the crafters to fully optimize seeding/jarring, until I open up more land (which I can do, I have the renown), and buy more crafting licenses.
here is a 4 apple 5 bean with all three buffs maxed
Thank you!!!
if you dont like the fertilizer 4 beans probably lets us drop the fertilizer usage a ton
Thanks!
Decided to rip up my garden and start over and I have no idea what I was thinking
Except I dont have apples or pumpkins yet so i have no idea what to do. lmao
I've got two apples that I need to have fniish first
So that garden planner says 260 bok choy - Is that after the first harvest or after a few harvests?
i believe that is for one full harvest of every bok choy marked
ok
I'll definetely immediately try and get new crops in my everything layouts if we get some
Thanks cy!!
Is there a way to add the maximum amount of ferilizer with one click? It takes so long to click on every plant 100 times
Sadly not
Is Palia ever going to upgrade the amount of slots we can have. I hate hate I can’t have multiple gardens on different plots.
if they do, then they would probably have to redo the entire prices of all the crops, and at this time i don't see that happening. the only thing right now that players can get is the decorative versions of the crops
got a new design targeted specifically at brand new players. Crops are balanced around the most profit per day going by zeki's seed prices with max water retention. weed prevention was purposely left not maxed so as @floral talon pointed out they can still get the weedwhacker achievement. However I purposely left it so only 8 crops can get weeds so you can get the achievement and be lazy without ruining your profit. The layout is also symmetrical both vertically and horizontally so its easier to plant
Unique bullseye layout
Wonder if more quality up cotton would be better but meh u fly past the low levels soon so it probs dont matter to much
ran through all possible layouts so unless theres a bug in my calculator this should be guaranteed optimal given the constraints listed
(its totally possible theres a bug)
That's a lot of testing!
constraints specifically were
--width 9 --height 9 --level 0 --no-star-seeds --allow carrot --allow onion --allow potato --allow cotton --allow tomato --allow wheat --allow rice --allow corn --allow bok_choy --allow napa_cabbage --full-water -zeki --pretty --timeout none --fertilizer-cap 20 --cap-weeds 8 --minimize-fertilizer
Just in case
if the palia garden planner is correct for star formula then my script should be right too
I literally just copied the formula from them on that one
Oh so this one is when buying seeds and cant make ur own yet
yup thats what the --zeki argument does. limits it so it wont suggest harvest fert and also locks you to zeki seed prices
Eligos gonna replace all layout makers with that program for sure xd
10^21 iterations if I'm not mistaken... How long did it take? Did you fully brute-force it, or did you optimise somewhere?
slowly getting it faster at exhausting the layout list. this one took 11,759.307 seconds
https://developers.google.com/optimization/cp/cp_solver
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAT_solver
tldr; very aggressive pruning and fancy brute force
the solver internally learns clauses as it runs and prunes branches that I otherwise wouldnt have been able to
I see, thanks!
helps that I now have two 7950x3Ds to throw at the problem too lol
Calculation power always helps... Makes me wonder how far one could get with optimising (not that I'd ever actually use those optimised layouts, I'm too lazy and the most amount of optimisation I do is planting different plants next to each other. Mostly at least.)
honestly not very far. What I have generated tends to be only moderate improvements over existing designs so far
e.g. duhscape's 4 apple 6 blueberry layout was ALMOST the optimal one, he was just using 8 fertilizer instead of 4 the optimal one uses
I see!
Ever since switching to that i got to much fertliser lmao *blueberrys5
Whenever better it goes to my layout library
well ran all the tests and designs I needed so if anyone ever has any requests just ping me. Takes anywhere from 1 to 8 hours to generate a layout now depending on your constraints
At least one aspect im better at takes me 1min -2h(if its a really complex one) usually 5min
wonder what it would come up with if I gave it 1 minute for a design
best everything farm it could come up with optimizing for profit with max weed and water and no fertilizer given only a minute to solve it
Everything gardens dont need to have cotton tjough but quiet good
Hi all, I haven’t playing long but wanna make money before the horses come out, any tips on the best veg to grow and what way to grow them etc
still think its awesome how eligos is single handedly making the biggest gardening revolution
Let's not go that far
ok since figuring out the mechanics and the layout planner
Would probably be more of a breakthrough if I could get it running on an average computer or web accessible
it is "web accesible" we just have to ping u first and wait 24hours
Lol
so far in my playing, it seems better just to sell tomatoes as is and isn't worth it to make into seeds or canned tomatoes.
up[ to u but ithink u nered to own way mroe crafter licenses
Can someone help me come up with a good plot that produces apples, blueberries, beans, tomato, onions, and wheat?
how many apple trees do you want preferably and how many bushes?
I wouldn't say so. You are definitely better off money wise if you process any crop. Tomatoes do a bit better when preserved (and are quite quick too)
If you don't own many crafter licences, then sure, you can focus only on making seeds to replant and sell everything else, or use other crafters, completely up to you!
Hello! could someone send me the best profitable/lazy garden layout? I've looked up so many and i'm just lost on which ones to do, so if someone can just send me a link of the best profit/lazy one i would really appreciate that!
What's laziest isn't what's most profitable, so it really depends on how lazy you want to be.
If you only want to harvest the crops that regrow, one of these:
#🌱│gardening message
Replace blueberries for beans if you want more profit and are ok with checking back every 2 in-game days for the beans.
If you want to harvest the smaller crops, then you would want 100% water/weed buffs too.
You can do that with fertiliser if you want (see #🌱│gardening message for an example of how), but you could probably sacrifice some apples/bushes to get a much higher buff coverage without fertiliser.
But Eligos made a program that calculated this is essentially the most efficient lazy layout (where you only harvest the bigger crops for convenience)
If that's what you want, great, else you'll have to be a bit more detailed as to what you want
so i’m still new to the game to understand what’s best, i don’t mind checking in every 1-2 in game days, i have almost all seeds and crops, but still need a few more seeds star quality to have all star quality seeds, my question would rather be whats the most profitable and maintaining apples for jams (i use those for focus food) so i’d like to maximize apples and profit on the side, i hope that’s more clear on what i want, just passive income while maintaining star quality apples for my jams.
and my god there are so many layouts out there that i just get confused and lost on what works best.
First off, Beans are better than Apples for food, far cheaper (so you can make more money by selling those apple jams you are making) and the same focus.
You say you're happy checking in every 1-2 hours, but what do you want to be doing?
- Do you want to be replanting small crops every time you visit your garden
- Do you want to be using fertiliser?
Yes there are lots of layouts, but we can narrow them down significantly based on what you've said and the answer to these 2 questions
how are beans better than apples food wise for focus? turning them into what?
and no i dont want to spend so much time in the garden to keep replanting small crops, (unless that increases my income by a lot then okay sure)
what kind of fertiliser should i be using? I can use them yes and i can stack up on them.
Canned Beans.
oh how do i make those? o.o
This is why we exist tonhelp poeple find the right one
Beans in a preserves jar. You unlock the recipe by harvesting 10 starred Beans I think?
As mentioned before, #🌱│gardening message is going to be close to optimal for lazy profit.
For you, I'd say use the fertiliser it says on the small crops, and harvest then when you feel like it. Otherwise just stick to the big crops.
Yes, harvesting all the smaller crops will give a bunch more profit, but it's also more effort.
The other option is Duh's lazy apples layout, let me find a link
and this is why i came here to ask 😄
Wise move im gonna let cys handle this one
so each crop has a different fertil to use on?
#🌱│gardening message is Duh's lazy apples layout, it's very fertiliser heavy but is simple and nice and lazy
Not quite, look at the bottom right of each tile in the planner and you see some have a fertiliser icon
That layout uses only water/weed fertilisers (you buy these from Zeki)
says only 54 fertilisers used
Yeah, every in-game day
i see, so just copy it as it is exactly?
Yup
i saved the picture because i'm moving my farm elsewhere so i'll just copy that one exactly once i do
apples take 6 slots?
per soil?
oh 9, nvm 😄
Also, I should mention, we have an update in 10 days which could give us new crops, so what's optimal could potentially soon change
Yeah, a whole soil plot essentially
oh i know, highlands, for now i'll use this though until a new one comes
thank you so much btw!
All good. I'd probably say go with Eligos' Apples and Beans layout for you, as it sounded like you wanted more of a focus on the bigger crops and it has (slightly) less single tile crops.
It also uses less fertiliser and the fertiliser is mostly on the small crops, which you can leave if you don't feel like harvesting
is that a different layout? and since beans are better than apples then i'll prob focus on beans to be my focus food
(And it will give you apple jam to sell plus beans to can and eat. Beans are slightly better than Apple jam for profit if seeded, so if you start making too much Canned Beans, seed the rest)
#🌱│gardening message it was this one
well if beans will be better, i want to switch my full focus food to be beans
so in this case i need to make a lot of them because i don't have many of them at all
Apples are still king for convenience though, just because they last so long before you need to replant and you can stay away for a while with little consequence.
But if you wanted to go all in on Beans, #🌱│gardening message
I'd advise the Apple/Beans combo though. More convenience in the apples, better food in the Beans.
I have 4 Bean crops and generate enough Canned Beans for almost everything I do, so 5 should be plenty unless you play a ton every day
Yeah i'll stick with apples/beans, because i can still jam the applesa and sell them that way for profit
How many preserve jars do you have? I only have 2 atm and want to focus my preservers being for food rather than jams or pickles for profit as the difference feels minimal in value but focus is far greater.
2 dedicated for Beans, 2 dedicated for Tomatoes, 4 which are for Apples when they give me fruit, else other stuff as needed, and 2 extras (normally for my Spicy Pepper/Blueberry/Onions, but sometimes for excess Beans or Apples as needed)
And I have a bunch of seeders
are these wheat or rice that needs to be planted?
why can we not jar rice and wheat never heard of yeasting palia
Rice
I desperately need to invest in my crafter limit
It's one of the most worthwhile investments in Palia tbh
They directly increase the amount of money you can squeeze from your Gardening (and other skills too)
does the order they are planted in matters?
As long as they are in the spots that the layout indicates, the order in which you plant them doesn't matter at all.
oh sorry i meant in the spots the picture has, do i copy it exactly?
Yes. Each crop gives a buff to the crops that are directly adjacent to it, that's why layouts matter
to make sure i got the crops right, its: apple trees, batterfly beans, potatos, bok choy, and tomatos, carrots, rice, these are the only seeds that i grow right?
@supple stone i don't have any rice at the moment, what should i grow until i get the seeds?
If you have corn or rice, you can use them as they have the same buff.
Or, Zeki sells Rice seeds
oh nice, i'll buy them from zeki, thank you. 🙂
when everything grows, i just replant the same again? like the small crops, when they grow, do i harvest them and replant etc?
Replant with the same thing when you harvest a crop. Unless you need something for a recipe, then swap out something of the same size and buff ideally
hi, is it still supposed to be possible to hoe up crops you do not want? i tried to remove something and could not do it
Should be rclick with hoe in hand
i was using xbox just doing regular hoeing over the same spot. eventually the errent crop grew, was harvested, and i placed what should have gone there correctly 🙂
Wel that works to
Idk what button on xbox is ammo select but thats the one u should press for removing crops with a hoe
Same button as the one you use to fill up the water can. On switch it's X, on ps5 it's triangle, so ima assume on xbox it's the one on top as well
helllooo! how do i maximize my profit using this method of farm what do i seed jam ect? https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-P.HTBkOCrRBkRP-OPTRCrRTBkO-BkOP.HRCrTPRBk-TROPCrBkORT-BkOPRCrRPTBk-TROBkCrPORT-BkRPTCrRP.HOBk-OBkTRCrRTPO-PRBkRCrOBkTP.H
@supple stone hey hey! can you awnser my questin from above
Seed the rice, preserve the rest
If you have time to process everything without backlog, then the following gives the highest profit:
Seed: Bok Choy, Potatoes, Rice (also Wheat and Beans, but they aren't on this layout)
Preserve: Everything else, so Tomatoes, Onions, Corn (also Carrots, Apples, Blueberries, Spicy Peppers and Pumpkins, but they aren't on this layout)
Either: Cabbage
If you can't process everything without a backlog, then it gets into the territory of what gets you extra money fastest, which...let me find a chart
Courtesy of Bepop a Rebop here #🌱│gardening message
Essentially, not much changes.
- Bok Choy becomes slightly better value per minute preserved not seeded.
- Onion is mildly better value per minute seeded
- Potatoes are mildly better value per minute preserved
From things not in your layout:
- Beans are mildly better preserved in terms of value per minute
- Blueberries are significantly more value per minute seeded
Again, this is only beneficial if you can't process everything without backlogs.
Probably best to have that in #💬│off-topic-chat but I get why you put it here
Now back to your regularly programmed Palia Gardening channel
My bad. I fixed it
do plain flower bushes do something to crops? they shoot out water once done watering?
They don't, no.
💀
I could hug you buddy! sorry i didnt get back to you sooner! oh also for this layout if i put harvest boost on those crops will it work or is it just a waste seeing it has 100% of some things
oop i see quality up is actaully better
You need to put 4 Harvest boost on the corners, everything else is already getting harvest boost from adjacent crops, so putting more on will just be a waste - it won't get used.
Harvest boost is better than quality up as it's a guaranteed 50% more value. Quality Up gives a chance at 50% more value, and that chance decreases as your gardening level increases.
It is good in addition to harvest boost though, so if you want to put Quality Up fertiliser on everything, that would increase the profit you generate. Remember that each tile needs 1 fertiliser per day.
Does fertilizer need reapplying everytime is disappears from a tile? I've been operating under the assumption you fertilize once per crop...
You only get the effect if fertiliser is present for that growth tick. Each tile uses one fertiliser per in-game day.
This is fairly obvious for water retain / weed block buffs, but for Quality Up and Harvest Boost it essentially means that you only have a chance for the buff's effect to activate when you harvest.
For Onions that take 4 in-game days to grow, if you only have fertiliser on it for 1/4 growth ticks, you have a 25% chance of Harvest Boost or Quality Up applying (so 25% chance of getting 1.5x yield or 25% chance of the Star chance being 50% higher)
The good thing is that you can spam loads of fertiliser on a tile (up to 99) and forget about it for a while, but Apples use 9 fertiliser each in-game day and bushes use 4.
OH I didn't realise you could stack fertilizer that's really helpful. I wish there was an indicator how long crops are fertilized for.
There is. If you press G on PC, it shows the buffs present. If a buff has a number after it, that's being given by fertiliser.
Not sure what the button would be if you are on console, try holding X or Y maybe?
for the love of God, why haven't the Devs stopped randoms from pulling weeds in your garden if they dont have Editor?
yeya it was so funny to tour someones plot with the tour system and then attend to their garden XD
also why owuld poeple not wants weed removal service since strategic weedplacement is super bugged
2 apple trees and 2 blueberry bushes
I made this to the best of my ability, can anyone recommend me a better way to plan it out? Those crops are the only ones I want but I am not good at figuring out the best way to get that water retention and weed prevention
blueberry and bean bushes are interchangeable so is that 2 bushes total or 2 blueberry and a number of bean bushes?
6 bushes and 2 apple trees, the image I posted above, is it good enough?
still solving it, my solver takes about 1 to 8 hours to run unfortunately so needed that information
got this currently if you are fine with fertilizer, I cap it to only use at most 20
and this if you dont want to use fertilizer
Those 2 layouts could easily be improved at least ur script did the heavy lifting
Tomatoes without companion plant 🙁
One apple needlessly without hb
yeah its still running thats why
Dang wel im looking forward to the end result
heres the improved layout so far for the no fertilizer variant
thats just cause they only asked for tomato out of the water plants so when I give the script fert its just maximizing tomato and using ferts to offset lol
Symmetrical option, not perfect as 2 corners get only 1 buff so even with fertiliser you can't get 100% coverage of the 3 main buffs
5 spots missing Harvest Boost (corners and centre)
4 spots missing Weed Block (Top Left corner and the Bok Choy 2 spots below it, Bottom Right corner and the Bok Choy 2 spots above it)
Personally, I'd consider dumping 99 Weed fert on those 4 spots missing it and just leaving it for ages
With fertiliser (shame we can't get to 100% Harvest Boost like this, but that's the issue with corner 2x2s like this)
Although, no wheat, so this doesn't even work anyway. Oops!
I probably should have just started on symmetrical since that search space is so much faster to solve
Fitting in Wheat is tricky with so many large crops and trying to keep buff coverage high (only managed 2 here)
Also, if they really want ONLY onions/tomatoes as buff crops, it would mean a lot of fertiliser would be needed
yeah I took liberties and added in potato as well at minimum
Maybe haha
It's also easier for me to plan in my head haha
Gj cys
yeah cys layout is definitely great
I never thought about cheesing ghe outer qrcode layouts bufflayee
Huh? (I have no idea what you mean here Duh =/ )
-talks layout designer-
Can you give plants more than one fertilizer buff?
One fert per plant only
But more then one buff from neighbour crops giving buffs
Thank you so much! :)
Ty Duh
I normally understand you haha, just not today 🙁
U made imperfect outer buffbelts on a qrcode type layout
I would never have thought about making the outerlayer require fert like that to solve the corner patterns on the 2x2s
It was the only way!
Point for creative problem solving for sure
i need peppers is there a afk no weed pepper layout?
When you have a 9x9 layout, do you harvest the plants as they are able to harvest or do you wait for them all to be done growing to max profit? im so confused. because the garden planners always say like 25k or something and i never get that.
You should harvest and replant as soon as possible.
The garden planner has a certain number of days stated in the top right. The money it says is if you harvest and replant when available and process as stated for that many in-game days.
The numbers of days is configurable, but by default is the lowest number of days that means everything can be harvested on the last day (so it's far more accurate for estimating revenue)
Does that make sense?
So like, harvest the first thing i can and then replant it, and then harvest the second thing and replant it ..
I dont know what the last day means tho
Are you looking at a garden planner link?
That says 30 days of harvest.
So, it's assuming you harvest/replant whenever something is ready for 30 in-game days
Each in-game day (or growth tick as we often call it here), you'd generate on average 2222g
So over the 30 days, that's 66k
Does that help?
I think so.
I honestly think it's just the numbers and time that are tripping me up, because im bad with both numbers and understanding time because adhd. lmao
Just ignore them then.
The important bits IMO are buff coverage percentages.
Average profit number is useful too, for quickly comparing layouts.
But total money and number of days don't matter at all
fair. ty
the numbers dont matter that much in the end
growing what u use
the buffs THE BUFFS!!!
keeping add it more work inpout more money output
and yeya knowing what ot proces stuf finto helps i guess
is just growing 9x9 of tomatoes with fertaliser then jarring them a good approach?
at least in the interim while im getting back into the game before i re-learn all the best crop layouts. as i dont have many other seeds atm.
or can anyone point me in some advice. Just back to the game so trying to reconfigure it all out is all. Thanks in advance 🙂
I'm sorry ahead of time if this is a bit weird or useless to most people XS
I have been working with introducing one of my family to the game, because i love palia and they are very new to gaming and i felt like it would be a good 'safe start' for them. It's been interesting seeing a lotta the things they struggle with.. But in turn also curious trying to figure out the best ways to help them out a bit. One of those was gardening!! It was surprisingly difficult to find a good layout for gardening that was 3 plots instead of the starting 2 or jumping to 4... and even the 4 plot set up wasn't as common to find. I was showing them a basic alternating pattern for the 2 plot but for 3 i really wanted to make them something that would be self-tending while also allowing them a little more wiggle room to try new crops.
That is when i came up with a Layout i am SUPER Proud of!! So I wanted to share it here in case maybe anyone finds themselves in a similar situation or that odd 'starting out/middle ground' area. I Prioritized getting every spot weed prevention and water retain So that it would be easier on someone still getting use to the game's flow or, like in my case, the person may jsut genuinely be very new to gamign and struggling with learning the basics. At it's core, the plot thrives on having 2 plots that are fully self sustaining (The first picture on left) Which could also be used even with a 2 plot farm to allow a little wiggle room of 2 spots for anythign to grow. But due to being self sustaining it also allows for the person to add either top right or bottom left (3 plots) or /Both/ (4 plots) And have nice, large 2X2 areas that will let them try out any crop (other than apple trees) on a nice, small, simple farm ^.^
I Was Super duper proud of putting this together for my loved one and.. idk if others may have a similar struggle but.. i wanted to share jsut in case it helps anyone else out there ❤️ (Edit: 4 images below to show various stages)
(I will put the 'full form' image seperate so it's a little easier to see/read)
Addition - For the sake of the above and helping out and.. idk... me being weird XS
I have made a full 100% breakdown of plot-by-plot for.. my own design I guess?
This is a 2-9 crop plot design layout with each stage/added plot. Plus a 3-9 set up for apple trees just in case. All plots are 100% water retain and weed prevention to be beginner friendly and still allow for larger 2X2 areas so all crops can fit ❤️
Yeay thats beginner friendly for sure
Mini bullseyes and xp apple al be it ur variations of em
How do I get different types of fertilizer? I take it the worm farms but how do I find out which crop gives me which fertilizer type?
sweet stuff is quality up the rest is harvest boost
waterretain/weedblock bought at zeki
aside from blue berries and apples - what else is considered sweet? :o
of the crops only apples and blues, for other sweet items are going to be coming from cooking (or buying bulk of delaila's food at a food stall)
Thank you both so much! :)
yeay worms making quality up is almost ALMOST irrelevant (just ruins lazy produce ur own hb fert layouts boo (not that we need those anymore since we just made better layouts >:D))
true, I'm just trying to avoid making it so I wanted to make sure I wont lol
I sell any quality up I make from worms.
Apparently the max amount of soils you can buy is 9? Ever since I been planting tomatoes and potatoes as well some chili seeds and I have been making about 4,000 gold from selling .
Any other way to make more than that by gardening ?
- Process crops if you aren't already. Some are better seeded, some better preserved (seed Bok Choy, Potatoes, Rice, Wheat, Beans, Cotton and preserve everything else)
- Use Harvest Boost for 50% more yield if you aren't already (either from fertiliser or adjacent crops)
- Use more of the more profitable crops (Bok Choy is the most profitable, Potatoes second for example)
- Log in to garden more (for example, you can target when you log in for 5-10 mins before the 6am growth tick, harvest/replant, wait for 6am, harvest/replant if needed, then log in just under 2 hours later to repeat the process)
#🌱│gardening message - this post has a link to profitable layouts that tend to be more convenient than just full Bok Choy with full harvest boost fertiliser (which is the most profitable layout, but the most effort intensive)
Thank you for the helpful info , so in other words Bok Choy and potatoes are the most profitable? And if so you’re telling me that if I add fertilizer it could possibly be worth more ?
That message I linked to has a ranked list of what is most profitable, if you want to look at it.
Harvest boost means you gather 50% more items. That means you can sell 50% more items at the normal sell price, for up to 50% more profit (could be a little less if you still get some normal quality crops).
You can also use quality up buff to give an extra 50% chance at star quality, which is likely to give more profit too
How do you get harvest boost and quality up buff ?
Harvest boost - easiest way is to have crops adjacent to Rice, Wheat, Corn or Beans (having 2 rice next to each other won't give HB to the rice, things need to be adjacent to a different crop that gives the buff. I tend to alternate rice and wheat, for example). Alternatively, harvest boost fertiliser from worm farms
Quality Up - adjacent to peppers or cotton, sweet things in a worm farm, or you can craft it
There's also a guide to Gardening that goes into a lot of the mechanics in the pinned messages in this channel
Geez a little bit tricky thanks for the helpful info
So it has to be a pattern to get the harvest boost? Like rice , then wheat etc
Indeed. That's why layouts exist. To get good coverage of buffs.
As it sounds like you are early game, my preferred early layout is this one #🌱│gardening message
Everything gets harvest boost other than the corners, and it's all water retaining and weed proof
Others would recommend putting some Quality Up buff (IE cotton) in there, but it makes getting good coverage with the other buffs a lot harder, so I'm less of a fan personally
I'm off for the night, so good luck!
I would recommend giving Shepp Arenvanya's Guide from the pinned messages a read if you're unsure of any mechanics, or ask here and someone else will probably reply at some point
I have just hit gardening 10, but I am struggling with coming up with a solid layout for making money, I think the size of the apple trees and blueberry bushes is throwing me off. Does anyone have a recommended layout for good cash?
Did you check the pins 📌 in this thread?
#🌱│gardening message have a look at the layouts here, see if any of them catch your eye
Hi everyone, I am new to gardening and watched a bunch of videos and all but I don’t want to go to deep into the engineering of gardening lol.
In your opinion what is the simplest layout for having some good profits but not going crazy with the variety and placement of seeds?
I think this one could work because it is very straightforward and works for any number of plots wdyt?
Best profit of any layout is just all Bok Choy, all with loads of Harvest Boost fertiliser. Lots of effort due to replanting every 3 in-game days and manual watering/weeding, but it's a very simple layout.
You can manage a similar thing without fertiliser just by adding rice/wheat/corn in strategic places, something like this #🌱│gardening message
But, a few questions for you:
- what would be too many different crops for you? Could make some more convenient layouts with more types of seeds, but at what opint does it become too much for you?
- you seem to like Tomatoes, is that because it regrows?
- you don't mind placing fertiliser on every tile? Bear in mind that you need 1 fertiliser per in-game day you are online, so you might want to spam a lot of fertiliser onto every tile if doing that method
- what is your Gardening level?
- 2 max I guess 😛 (lazy strategy)
- Partially yes, and also because the profit seems to be higher with tomatoes and also we get a them from the start
- yes I know and tbo this is my “ideal” layout but right now I won’t be able to 100% fertilize the plots as I need more money first
- lvl 3
Thank you 🙏
Honestly, for 2 crops only, it's hard to beat Rice and Wheat. You could blanket it all with Water Retain Fertiliser (bought from Zeki) so you don't need to water every day too.
But Harvest Boost means you get 50% more yield when harvesting (if it was present all the way through the growth of the crop). If you have seeders, seed what you can, sell any excess seeds you don't need for replanting (as well as anything you can't seed).
If you want tomatoes, the most convenient layout would be to do the same thing but Tomatoes instead of Rice and Potatoes instead of Wheat. That way, everything wouldn't need watering. Not as much profit as you don't have Harvest Boost (and you may not have a bunch of Worm Farms to provide all the HB fertiliser you would need to cover a whole field).
When comparing profit between layouts, I advise you look at the Average gold per growth tick box, not the Total. Also, both these layouts aren't seeding things as I don't know how many seeders you actually have, but seeding crops always makes more profit (if you sell the seeds)
Later on, you can make much lazier layouts with larger crops too. Some people also have layouts where they never harvest the non-large crops, but use smaller crops around them to give buffs.
If you were willing to go to 3 or 4 crops, you could get something like these
Ok because I already tested the layouts you are showing (first 2) and the “total” number was not even close that is why I kept mine
It probably would be. That's the total if you harvest for as many growth ticks as it says. That's 12 real-world hours of growth in the first image, at which point it probably would give 28k.
The second says 10 growth ticks, so 10 irl hours of growth.
And to actually get a growth tick, you need to be online in the hour before it hits 6am Palian-time
But you are far from the first person to do a few harvests and say you aren't getting the total shown in the planner, it's a common misconception.
Oh, and you would need to be making sure everything was watered, weed-free and harvested every growth tick for the total to be accurate too. Essentially, the total is a maximum assuming everything is always growing for the number of growth ticks stated. That number of growth ticks is usually the minimum number whereby all crops have a whole number of full growth cycles, which makes the average more accurate
Sorry what’s a growth tick?
6am Palian-time, all crops grow a stage if they are watered, don't have weeds and aren't already harvestable. That's the growth tick. You only get it if you were online in the hour before 6am Palian time (which for most time zones is quarter past the hour)
So the best ROI strategy with 2 weeds would be the Rice+Wheat layout you showed above?
Yes, though you can get very close with Bok Choy and Rice strategically placed. But, equally you could do something similar with Rice and Wheat to be a more optimal profit layout too, but the difference is rather minimal. Bok Choy would be better if you were managing to seed everything though
At least, I assume you mean 2 crops rather than 2 weeds?
I don’t even know if I already have access to Bok Choy, I will take a look when I can. Thank you for your rapid answers ♥️
You can buy Bok Choy from the start I believe
I would say just stick with Rice/Wheat until you get a bunch of seeders, it takes a lot of them to be able to process everything, so you will get more mileage at first with just rice/wheat
Personally, I would use Water Retain fertiliser if you want the biggest impact on making your life easier, but for profit, Quality Up would be more impactful
Ok because atm I have none of these machines like for producing seeds or putting the veggies in jars… have to look into all that :p
Jars need a higher level, you unlock seeders fairly early
I did, that was the first thing I did. Nothing there says anything about layouts
thanks i will have a look!
So you noticed the 'Example Layouts' bit with links then?
Nope!
I am visually imparied though so it may not be obvious to me
I linked you to a post of mine which has a lot of info about planning a garden and links to compilations of layouts. I didn't say anything about pinned messages (though for general Gardening info, Shepp Arenvanya's guide is a good read)
The link to that post again: #🌱│gardening message
(Click it to be taken to the post I'm talking about, it has other links to compilation posts of different types of layout. Links are required due to Discord message character limits)
ohhh there was amessage before about the pinned posts, i think i blended that as the start of yours!
Yeah I am reading through that right now ❤️
Seems like a lot of the layouts actually dont use apple or blueberry and instead seem to focus on bok choi, is that more profitable at the moment?
The profitable layouts focus on Bok Choy, yes. There's a table at the bottom of that post of mine which ranks crops in order of profit based on how you process them. Bok Choy is right at the top.
Apples are lower-mid, blueberries rather low.
The benefit of Apples and Blueberries is the convenience of not having to replant
oooooh okay, that makes sense! so the apples and berries are for a more afk focussed layout.
I got you!
I will start looking at putting together the layout that fits me best from those posts, thanks so much!
Dumb question does fertilizer stack
You can stack up to 99 of a single type on 1 crop
Hai hai, just wondering what a good starter layout is for someone with only 6 soil plots unlocked? Asking for a friend, I played with the layout creator for a little bit but couldn't quite figure it out
@low lark Deyanira created a 2-9crop plot design :)
Will this help?
There's a starter garden layout here #🌱│gardening message
It's just 1 soil plots and you can put it on as many soil plots as you want/have.
Though with 6, I would probably go for an adapted version of the bullseye layout - not at my PC to adapt it for you rn, but #🌱│gardening message is the 9-plot version.
i see so many garden layouts, both here and online. little overwhelming, everyone saying something different is the best farm.
any recommendations for a layout that works well? im looking for an afk farm with minimal/no interaction needed
no fertilizer
max weed prevention
full auto watering
im just hoping for a simple one that i can ignore until i remember crops exist
most i find focus on apples. i would like if it has a variety for food and money
2 trains of thoughts with lazy layouts.
- Only harvest big things, and use the smaller crops to buff the heck out of them. Means you can fit in more bigger crops than you otherwise could
- Harvest everything. More profit, but more work. Everything needs to get buffs, so without fertiliser, you have to have fewer bigger crops
Bigger crops are the most convenient as they need replanting less frequently, which seems to be what you are after (hence why I'm talking mostly about bigger crops).
Which of the 2 methods sounds most useful to you?
And #🌱│gardening message has some lazy layouts, but they're mostly geared towards only harvesting bigger crops if you aren't using fertiliser, so you might need another layout if you want to harvest everything
maybe a combo. since i do want cooking materials. one that has plants i can swap out easy if im running low on a specific ingredient. but otherwise i can leave it for better growing of other things?
currently i was harvestign everything, but it sounds liek when they arent harvested they dotn get a growth tick (wont get weeds/lose water or anything?) but still benifit other crops? i kinda thought they needed a growth tick to share their buff no?
primarily though only harvesting the large things would be alright for some profit/xp would be alright and ill deal wiht whatever when i need to swap them out for any reason
Even if a crop has weeds or isn't watered, it will still give its' buff to neighbouring crops. No matter its' own stage of growth
@floral talon can you think of any no fertiliser afk layouts?
oh hey someone needs layout
midnight do u need the larger crops to?
almost no fert also good? do ahve fertless ones to but poeple used to not like em
ideally i would appreciate at least one of everything. so i can harvest for food/money/gifts as needed and not have to worry about swapping things out
currently i have this design that i like except its weed prevention isnt great
i have that to
how many 2x2s and how many apples od u need
fun fact u can grow blueberry at some point and hten swap it for beans afterwards
same with pumpkins and spicypeppers but i dont know how much of htose htings u consume of course
only consume i really do it food for the xp boost which can really be nearly anything. but my gf likes to do cooking for the weekly gifts and id like to be able to cover anything she doesn't have at the time
otherwise before i was using a pure bean farm since they grow fast and give good food
personally i just want simple food for boosting that gives a lot focus. idc what it is. (was using canned beans before)
but her wanting to friend/romance everyone is a small issue in that lol
finally found it
i aint gonna bother reorganising my layout library almost noone ever asks for htese
that looks amazing, can swap in some tomato/wheat/and onion easy.
any spot you may recommend putting a cotton in? to not hurt anything else much? it would be nice to make sure i can keep cotton on hand for other crafting as well
otherwise that looks like the best option
just buy ur fabric from tish dont bother growing it once u dont need hte quality up buff at lv25
its way mroe efficient that way
only downside u cant store the fabric in the loom
thats fair
dramatically simplifies layouts this way(and reseeding)
and its monettarily at least equally effective
then yeah, that farm is perfect and ill add the missing things that swap out easily
yes substitution
why i also said u could rrotate the blueberrys with beans
and spicyppeppers with pumpkins
hell u wouldnt even need 2 2x2quality up crops and 2 2x2 hb crops
lemme know if u need a variation wiht like 2 apples or wsomehting at some point
now jsut gotta wait for my current farm to be cleared since i started the other farm design yesterday...
to keep ur layouts and other info within reach i recommend making ur own discord server and use it as a notepad like i did
already do, been doing that for years lol
u sir outsmarted me
got one with some friends that basically entirely for minecraft modpacks and the config changes/qol mods they each need if we ever revisit them
thank you so much for the layout though. i love it
bro u should so ge t a black furred dawnspur and name it midnight revenge
might want that one to be added/pinned (maybe change it so it has the onions and stuff included) #🌱│gardening message
say its got at least one of everything except cotten but tha fabric can be bought from tish as you said. would be helpful for peoepl that want a good simple layout like me
oh wel u can only pin so much
i meant add it to the msg since that one keeps getting referanced
Oh, Everything Layouts are in a different compilation, I link to those and a profit compilation in this post #🌱│gardening message
Don't think any of Duh's Everything Layouts are included though (and I'd only have enough characters for 1-2 links extra I think).
I honestly thought you wanted more of the bigger stuff or would have linked the everything compilations rather than the Lazy comilation
Still, thanks for helping Wraith, Duh!
As for pins, only mods can pin, and nothing new has been pinned in quite some time
oh, well i had looked and didnt notice that layout the first time and still dont. since all of those everything say they use fertilizers from what i see so i dint even bother checking them because i cant be bothered to fertilize.
actually i jsut saw that one does use fertilizers
i thought it didnt
Yeah, I didn't link that, I linked straight to the Lazy compilation as I felt that's what you were asking for. Obviously, I was wrong, my bad for assuming.
Also, Astrea only uses Harvest Boost fert, so all of those Everything layouts, fertiliser is entirely optional - you still get 100% water/weed buff coverage
the one i send uses optional fertiliser aside from litterly one spot for weedblock but what are the odds ur getting a weed there on a crop that needs replacing after 3 growhtticks
hb fert is super ez to get though and u can just chuck a ton on it if u want to or not
i see that now as well. i can skip fertilizer without a big issue, nvm
still seems the best option
yeay its only a big issue if the layout needs alot of weedblock
or if it needs any waterretain
now if it needed alot of harvest boost hten its just a ineffcient layout
though i am at the point that idc how much my layout produces as i wont be needing any of it
Or it's optimal profit (Full Bok Choy, full HB fert)
thats still ineffcient if u encalculate the cost of the fert XD
though not by much but it consuems so much of it that its crafter ineffcieint an dul run out of stuff to worm
I thought it still won out over alternate layouts, even with the fertiliser cost.
Been a while since I worked it out though.
there were a few that were btter though
Were there? I thought even Aquajj's strategically placed Rice/Wheat with 56 Bok Choy still fell short of what full Bok Choy + HB made
I guess maybe if you went for using some HB fert and less Rice/Wheat (mostly the Wheat I'd guess), it might be more optimised? And that might beat the other layout?
Do you remmeber what came out top?
a mix fert rice bokchoi one with very little rice
