it wouldn't be half, you get 50% speed up.
per 2 days 1 extra day of growth, so 2+1,2+1,2+1,2+1 lets an apple tree grow in 8 days instead of 12
Ooooh, gotcha. So itd be best to scatter it every 2 days or it doesnt matter?
For 3-4 days crops, only 1 is needed
2 for 5 days plants
May be more for pepper, blueberries, tomatoes and apple trees i think.
You can put more than 1 similar fertilizer at the same time, it will be used 1 by 1 by the crop(s)
also, it's me or the crops don't grow when i'm offline ?
after an irl night, my garden have to be ready to harvest but no
Does that not depend on if they are fully watered etc? My crops make no progress if they're dried up (i dont have water retain on all of my crops)
idk if there are other factors that it depends on, other than the growth time specific to each crop
Crops only grow one tick when you're offline
fully watered
it was what i'm thinking, thanks
Ty for clearing it up 🙂
there is a lamp that light in a wide area ?
at night, my soils are really dark
all my money comes from worms and p00p i am a worm and p00p farmer lol
i just have 6 apple trees with harvest boost, i stopped picking the crops im using for harvest boost and just only harvest/replant apple trees
and then i jam the apple and put the jam in worm farms
I have 12 preserve jars and 7 worm farms
i also put a handful into the glow worm farm for a source of glow worms, go fishing with the glow worms looking for makeshift furniture and sell everything else and the fish alone gets like 12k lol
im about to check my profit made overnight 🥱
i have 10 seed machines, 10 preserve jars, 4 glow worm farm
and 6 machines between fabric maker, forge, sawmill and glass furnace
even with all that, i have some congestion because my machines are all full
Ooooh LOL I love that! Where in the world can I get 🍎 seeds?!
my profits overnight from worm farm
apple seed is from
- Level 10 gardening and buying one with skill medals (only buy one and make more seeds yourself to save on medals)
- RNG from Zeki gacha (do not recommend aiming for this but if it happens randomly good for you xD)
- Level 3 friendship quest from ||Nai'o OR Zeki|| rewards you with one or two
- If you have randomly found an apple before you can request more apples until you have 10 and can make a seed
YES WORK IT WORMS
This is all very helpful. I will remember your kindness when I become Worm Queen.
Oh ok, i’ll give that a try, thanks!
This garden layout you responded to will get you ultimately 636 apples by day 30 (which is a lot).
If you have 5 or 6 preserve jars, then I recommend turning them all into apple jam.
What will happen is that once per irl day, you will get enough apple jam to sell for AT LEAST 10,000 gold.
I hope this helps.
It’s quantity of star quality apples over quality of overall garden.
@valid plank I now have 8 weeds on a weedplot, destroyed a crop so weeds can't grow on the same plot, and let a weed grow on an already finished growing harvest boosting crop outside of weedplot, I am now weed free on trees forever and safe from the growing in reverse bug
Hey guys I had a quick question about water retention. If I have 100% water retention, will my crops continously grow while I'm offline? Like If I alternate tomatoes and potatoes, will they be grown when I log in every few hours? Or does it cap at one stage of growth?
From my understanding and my quick test last night with a singular plot, the crops will stay watered, but will only progress one day even if multiple in-game days have passed. For instance, I planted a blueberry bush with alternating tomatoes and potatoes so everything is water retained, I then logged off last night and expected to log on to fully grown crops this morning, but they weren't even close to being fully grown. Is this just how it works? You must be online for the water retention to continously grow your crops?
Crops can only grow up to 1 stage per Palian Day as long as your online. Keep that in mind!
Ahhh okay okay, thank you. I thought I had this mastermind plan of logging in every couple hours to harvest a bunch of bloobs and make tons of money
i like to log in before the new hour to get 2 growth ticks in
the one from current and the next one
it just completes the current day, when you are offline and adds quite a lot of weed, if it isn't weed protected.
yes
So with water retention, you're basically sacrificing a bit of money output to be able to ignore your plants while you play the game?
your money output is fine if you seed or pickle the water retain crops and replace them
Yeah, from the start I was doing only tomato in a 2x4 garden and keeping my preservers full with start tomatoes and selling the rest. It's planting seaosn for me and I'm trying to justify making my plot fully water retained. What if I did alternating tomatoes and potatoes? Potatoes sell for a lot when pickled no?
I likeyour garden, it has something unique to it.
Something simple like this would be better than my all-tomatoes right?
Pickled Potatoes are best for fertilizer and getting worms in both farms.
I'm sorry i haven't played the game enough to understand that mechanic. You can get worms in your farm?
No, or... Kinda. There's a machine called a worm and glow worm farm for fishing
Oh right right, I have a worm farm
And it can give you fertilizer also to boost your crops.
You put the pickled potatoes in the worm farm?
Harvest and quality boost.
Yeah
it's this idea from Milk :)
Just if you have 9 weeds on the same plot it causes a bug, so i let 1 happen outside of the weedplot where it won't ruin anything (on a harvest boosting crop that finished growing)
i just water, harvest, and replace apple trees only
(left is for regular worm farm and right is for glow worm farm)
im retired from the hard work at this point
Idk why starred potatoes are the best, but it's convenient since I often have quite a few extra.
full document (doesn't work on mobile to view)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tr5KdvomPxOsA93HC9S7vDdP_bnffWifpwwQPCectdg/edit#gid=0
But how do you turn a profit if you turn your pickled potatoes into worm food
sell worms and fert
That's the neat part, you don't.
It just boosts the quality and amount of OTHER crops.
all my money comes from apple jam to worm farms
Also it'll help in the long haul for getting more easy access to worms.
Oh that
I get about 20k twice an irl day
i collect when i wake up and refill
then collect before bed and refill
so about 40k a day
I just get my money from selling starred apple jams and just saving time on that other step.
So the chart is saying that if I put in a single starred potato, I'll get 9 worms and and 22 fert in a regular worm farm?
apple math
And I just sell a bunch of apple jam. I don't care for crazy numbers.
i just like making money when i sleep
heehee
According to that chart, it seems so.
Maybe that's better to do.
I just did starred jars since someone told me to once.
It's whatever you find most convenient, you can ignore the un__Sen__sible charts from Sen and just do the casual style.
i mean i will never tell someone how they should play obviously
I just like talking about different strategies
That cat emoji just kills me.
Tons of ways to make money in this game always do what you enjoy doing
So ye, either jar the potato or just use potato by itself. Both seem to be the best option for it.
Is the worm and fert calculations for regular worms or glow worms?
regular worms are more money output, but i also toss a handful into 1 glow worm farm to use for fishing and sell the fish while i search for makeshift furniture
preserve potatoes and use in worm farms, or if you have that in abundance, you can use it as food as well or sell it, pickled potatoes are really useful.
jam, regular worm farm, glow worm farm, in the yellow boxes in that order
Gotcha, I'm just gonna do my own thing and figure out what works. Thanks for the tips and advice guys
of course, these are just options.
the fun part of palia is the freedom to do whatever you want and still get a good enough profit output
yeah, very balanced crops, it's really nice.
I think your method, @dusty kayak, is best for someone with a regular work schedule, because it generates most of the income in jars, which operate 24/7.
yeah it helps me not be distracted by palia all day XD and work on things im supposed to be working on
thnx for all the info! im gonna need more worm farms.
how many preserves jars / worm farms you run?
12 jars and 7 worm farms, 1 glow worm farm
k thanx. not sure how ill go yet. good info
i want more crafting licenses so I can stardew valley it
wouldn't that be nice
yes
so with the apple cider layout, do you pick the rice/wheat/corn and seed them as well, or do you just leave them alone and harvest the apple trees
Hey there! There is no way to have a 9x9 with 3 boost at 100% without fertilizer, right ? (Trying to do at least 1 of each and have harvest, water, weed boost on them all)
do you have a good layout for apples? As I can't achieve what I wanted, I now changed my mind and want to harvest/replant only apples and cotton.
So objective is to have all boosts on those 2 type of crops
Btw, does Weed stop the bonus also ?
weed has not prevented me from bonuses so far, my weedplot still shows it having water retain LOL
Can someone else confirme this?
If I put weed protection only on the crops that I plan to harvest (apple, cotton) even if other crops have weed their bonus still applies?
i took a screenshot of my weedplot and its buffs being active before
It's kinda strange because, somehow, I had to re-water ONE of my apple trees, but only 1 day, then it worked again. So I thought that it was because a potatoe near to it had a weed and thus canceled the bonus
So in theory, if I gather only Apples and Cotton, with this set-up I could totally ignore weed on my plot https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-CoPWOA.SA.SCrA.SA.S-CCoRA.STA.SA.SCA.S-CrOCoA.SA.SPA.SA.SW-RA.SA.SCoTCCA.SA.S-A.SWA.SPCoOA.SCrA.S-A.SA.SCCTCoA.SA.SR-WA.SA.SPA.SA.SCoOCr-A.SCA.SA.STA.SRCoC-A.SA.SCrA.SA.SOWPCo
Thank you. I managed to complete the first layout that you provided for me, but unfortunately it doesn't provide enough for my current needs anymore so I have to upgrade. It helped me tons until now though. Thanks again! I will slowly work my way to complete this new apple one then.
I am not convinced, that a weed plot is still necessary. I'm pretty certain that I pulled 9 weeds from my garden at least once and it is still running fine.
well, not from one soil plot, but from the whole garden that is.
weed plot is only neccasary for a perm weedblocking
however 9 weeds on 1 plot has a tendency to cause a bug where crops grow in reverse so i keep 8 on one and 1 weed elsewhere it doesn't bother me
it could have been it showed the buffs dispite not actually supposed to be showing buffs for me but i have no clue sometimes palia has wonk that's hard to calculate for
I'll just try it out and see I guess haha
like sometimes for forage the "i havent been picked" noise still plays, dispite it having been picked before
so, i'm trying to do the apple cider layout with a weed plot. using water retain on all crops except weed plot, because they are checkerboard tomatoes and potatoes (so they should always maintain water). i come back after a few excursions out to find a weed on the weed plot (good) but the tomato that has the weed on it needs to be watered even though the other two potatoes are right next to it. so weeds do block buffs from other crops
so, weed does block buffs FROM other crops, but it doesn't block buffs TO other crops right ?
also had to water an apple tree that had a weed on it even though it had water retention fert.
not sure fully, because the tomato with the weed is a corner and the potatoes to the sides of it have tomatoes as well buffing them
Hm ok, I guess it's still something I'll need to discover then
I don't really care if a weed block the buffs received, all that matters for my layout is that weed doesn't prevent from giving buffs.
it also looks like weeds will prevent fertilizers from doing their jobs as well
placed 99 water retain fertilizers on each of my crops when i placed everything down at the same time, and the apple tree that had the weed on it has 90 fert on it while the others have 81
Yea sounds logic, if it can't receive buffs from other crops, can't receive from fertilizer.
Next in-game day reset I'll definitly know if buffs are still transfered to the other crops if a crop has weed on it, or if the weed does also prevent the seed to give its buffs further
Alright, seems like Weed doesn't prevent a crop from giving its buff 😄 good news for my layout.
my pleasure, i'm happy to help. also after manually applying the 30 as the last day, this layout increased the amount of apples to 660 when Gardening level is 25 or above.
Thank you. Unfortunately mine is still Lvl10. But I'll save it for when I reach that level!
Sounds good 👍
really good passive fried rice set-up
you can use ferts or whatever but for set-it and forget-it this is functional
that's my EXP one for anyone trying to power level while making good background money
you can add more tomatoes as you get more money to invest into it 🙂
or even switch out for star seeds in the future for even more money!
hope these helped or at least gave some inspiration
this also looks really pleasing to walk through while pressing "G" 😁
obv if there is better exp farms lmk but i think for now these are cool?
there is not really an objective better or worse, all crops have just marginal differences and even the post-processing is roughly adding 50% value regardless of which kind of crop it is. What makes the difference is more your intention with your layout and what you want to do afterwards with your produce. As long as this is just seeding/preservation and selling afterwards, the differences are again just marginal.
Not sure if its the right chat...
I planted a tree. Will I be able to destoy it once I have a better axe? Or are they stuck there forever?
Tree will be there until its cycle is complete;
12 days growing with 3 additional harvests that have 6 days in between -> 30 in game days if you stay on top of taking care of them
It was the kind of tree that doesnt grow. Like I placed it though "H" menu if that makes sense. It looks like its cosmetic?
Guess "planted" was the wrong word, sorry!
Oh!!
Yes you can chop the trees you have planted with acorns, samaras, pinecones and juniper seeds
Yay, thank you!
I made some silly decisions. So nice to hear that its not permanent.
you mean an oak, juniper or pine tree? -you will be able to cut it down like any other cutable tree in the game.
iirc Hassian made you plant a tree as part of a quest to acquire permanent residency, which made you learn about the past, present and future
Yes! That's the permanent residency quest.
Thank you for your answers, everyone.
My axe sucks right now, so I was a bit nervous these will be prop trees and I won't be able to get rid of them.
I can be at peace.
it is good that we can plant trees, because those we cut on our property won't regrow, neither do trees nor bushes nor scrub, so be mindful, what you cut down on your property, because it is lost on every plot you might buy later on as well.
should i allways use stared seeds?, or does rank 25+ gardening no longer need to?
I think someone said that the chance to get a star quality crop is 2% chance per level + 50% if you use a star quality seed
Which would mean level 50 to be sure of getting star quality vegeables with normal seeds
i see thanks
not counting the fertilizer or nearby crops bonus effect
The idea is to have a bit of everything with 100% water retain, decent harvest boost and weed prevention without any consideration to quality boost (star seed and level 25+). Messy but it works
Hi all! My farming just reached level 10. What is your fav gold farm technique/layout implementing the 9x9 plots, the worm farms, and/or the preserves? Not currently concerned with keeping all crop types in stock in storage. 💚
personally, the way that i played it was until i was able to get blueberries or apples, i simply did rows of potatoes and tomatoes, seeding star and preserving regular. but once i was able to get blueberries (either buying a bag when you have the guild coins or doing badruu's level 3 friendship) and apples (nai'o's and zeki's level 3 friendship, guild coins or lucky from zeki's machine) i did for a while a pinwheel effect of apples and blueberries with tomatoes and potatoes to keep them watered. now i'm trying to do the apple cider layout (6 apple trees with rice and wheat for harvest boost and water retention fert)
everything preserve jars and to the worm farm they go
Is there a way to pick tilled farm land? I accidentally tilled the plots gifted from baduu , for a player who was very new to the game and it's not letting them pick up the plot anymore and they cant complete the tilling quest now.
are we seeing new crops with Luna New Year update???
yes ! ||can confirm from Adain lol||
will we get more dirt fields to accommodate the new crops?
spoilers: ||bok choy and cabbage||
ehh, kinda close
how does fertilizer work? does 1 stack last 1 day till the 6AM tick? is that useless? do i need to place it the day before they grow?
use it for ever growth tick, can stack up to 99 and absorbs every 6 am
but plants need a minimum of 3 days to grow before you collect, do i need to have fertilizer on them all 3 days for it to work? or just 1 day before i harvest
every growth tick
or you'll have none to very minimal effect
just stack em
i didnt realize this is how it works feelsbadman
dont have enough production to do that
i stopped using fert personally pretty quickly but that's me
just did water retention crops and picked weeds myself
should i just sell the fertilizer instead? feels a bit annoying to manage
what's bothering me with fert is the way it is managed with plants that take up several slots
it even gives you some back when the plant disappears, and some is left but only on one slot
I just got apples and blueberries recently, is the consensus for making money off of them to turn them into seeds and sell, or make them into preserves? I heard something about worm farms but unsure if I should put the fruit in there or the preserves??
i think what u need to do for those is put the same amount of fertilizer as the crop needs to grow...
when i did fert i just chucked a bunch down randomly and walked off lol
Oh thank you, I'll save that
is this list based on gold per hour they make?
ah i see thanks was wondering about per hour xD
im a worm and fert farmer though
i don't think about per hour i think about how much money i can make while offline
nice but why do u have normal worms and not bright ones?
also are glow worm farms or preservers more efficient for offline money?
i put a handful into glow worm to fish with but not more then i believe i have time to fish, otherwise offline/passive income is regular worm farm
wait why regular? i didnt check that one at all i thaught glow was an upgrade so i skiped it
you get more in the worm farm per jam than you do for the glow. 16/16 worm/fert vs 3/17 worm/fert for glow per hour
oh so how does it work, what kind of jam do you use? i am still new xD
just started pickling today only got 3 so far
apple jam is what im doing which your fastest way to get without RNG with zeki machine is level 3 friendship with ||naio or zeki|| which can be done in less then a week, like 3 to 4 days if you try hard
apples maybe tomorow after i get lvl 3 with 2 of the characters that give apples
ayy yeah lol
yeah i am allmost done i am hopeing tomorow i hit 3 with bouth
yeah keep talking to them every irl hour it goes by fast
yeah, apple jam is the way to go
noice
ok so after i get 8-10 glow worm farm so i can fish
apples into jam, and then the jam into normal worm farms correct?
yeah and it runs off line so load em up before quitting, rake in gold next time you log in
yep i am doing that rn as well loading everything up whenever i go in my house
ty didnt know this

what do u guys use for glow worm farm btw?
nonstarred junk like meat and sometimes a handful of the jam just to get some in inventory
also do u have a layout for the apple farm?
is the morels from zekis store fine as an alternative?
your first tree just make sure it's harvest boosted and turn some to seeds so you can make more
here's a before level 25 layout for apples i like
nice ty
nice love the layouts also look cool
last one looks the best boost and water retention on top of decent growth tickles my brain
forgot to ask how many seed collectors do u guys use?
i'm currently running 4 but i've ran more depending on what crops i was growing at the time
thanks i am running 3 right now seems like barely enough :}
looks like a good start, but I personally like this layout. this layout is focused on obtaining as many star quality apples as possible (so that you can convert them into Apple Jam and sell it).
This build focuses solely around providing the 6 Apple Trees with Growth Boost, Harvest Boost, and Water Retain.
Then to ensure the trees don't get any weeds, just sacrifice 9 crops (that will always have a weed on them). This way, no more weeds spawn, nor will they spawn on the Apple Trees.
Can weeds grow on unwatered seeds?
Wheat and Corn are my 'weed sacrifices' in this layout. Can I leave them unwatered or will weeds never grow on them, please?
From what I seen, weeds grow on any crop at random. It doesn’t seem as though being watered affects whether or not it will spawn on the crop.
yeah, water retain does not prevent weeds, I made the same observation.
I'll just leave this here. Best gold value for every crop list from most to least gold (got the info from the wiki).
Yup, from what I seen, weeds spawn on watered and unwatered crops.
Quick question is there any way to transfer plots from one lot to another?
like the farm plots? you can pick them up (can't have crops on them) and move them from inventory to the other lot
They also have to be untilled. Found that out the hard way. 😂
Is it possible to create a Layout wit out watering?
aren't potatoes better as a preserve jar?
Can someone please in the Europe servers send me some apples please? Trying to turn them into seeds for the 1st time. Thanks 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Not according to the wiki where i got that info from.
Hum ok
wait does harvest boost fertilizer stack with harvest boost from crops like rice?
I would like to know the mechanism of planting. Will it stop growing after it is offline?
it will stop growing after one palian day (from 6am to 6am)
Did we all see that in the trailer there seemed to be new plants??
To me it looks like bok choy or something 🤔
and cabbage but those could be the exact same bok choys at different stages after another look
I saw as well.
Best not be a tease from the devs!
Maybe we can finally make rath's lettuce soup as well!
I hope so! I hope we get a couple of things. Boy choy and lettuce would both make sense with like hotpot minigame
Or cabbage fits it too
Sadly this isn't accounting for gold per hour
If someone has more preserve jars then seed makers then pickled potato is faster gold meaning more gold
For example
But dont ask me for math i just note what im told
Gold per hour supposedly pickled potato is better then seeds according to folks
That being said people don't have to minmax or be as optimal as possible and they can stil make a good gold output
I'm making them as a preserve jars. Even if it takes some time to make them, for me it's ok, cuz I don't play like all day. So it's fine
Preserve jars is fine
If you get some more and split up across them its just faster gold
But thats not a priority yknow
Tons of ways to play the game and still make good gold
Quickest way to reach level 5 gardening? I just got the Your Order is Served quest and I don't have access to any fruit or spicy peppers yet and I need them before I even attempt to figure out how to cook the meals lol I think I'm at gardening level 4
Id say ask to make the food with someone else
I could probably help in an hour or so i just want to shower first xD
But if you wanted to level gardening you can do tomatoes with harvest boost and keep your focus bar up
Increase your focus boost at phoenix shrine if possible
I don't really have friends to play with so I'd appreciate the help!
This server is pretty easy to get help from others if you periodically ask in channels related to it
Not everyone is like available so you might have to ask a few seperate times
But its the nice part of this server
You can also join a community (advertised in #1135682474324807681 )
And then you'd have active players to ask there which also helps
But yep ill be around in an hour or so
You can add me it's the same as my server name Sen Aka
I'll add you now 🙂 thank you again! I'll definitely look into farming those tomatoes too 😅
as far as I have experienced boosts are binary, meaning it is either there or not, but has no specific value/factor other than that.
yeah had a feeling about this, thanks it only shows on or off and didnt find anything else about it
it should honestly stack but i get why they dont
i’m really having trouble maximizing my 9 plots 😭 can you guys help me? i’m level 11 with 3 seeders, 2 preserves, and 1 glow worm and 1 regular. should i buy some new crafters? i’ve tried some layouts that worked out okay but im on pretty often and would like to get more serious
it’s a little overwhelming lol
Hi guys! Quick question... I just got lvl 8 in gardening and i got the presentation jar, is it worth using quality vegetables? Can you get quality pickled vegetables?
And is it guaranteed?
yes
star crops give star preserve jars, in my experience just not always for seeds
i've still gotten 1 or 2 normal seeds even though all of my crops are starred and i'm level 32 garden
Put apples in preserves
I think we can be pretty sure new plats are coming at some point, hopefully soon, and recipes aswell.
A while ago there was a bug in the prep station showing preparations of some ''new'' veggies.
I hope we get them all this time!
Same here. I want more garden plots to be able to grow them aswell xD
Gosh I hope they add at least one more!
But from the video it at least looks like we will have cabbage and bok choy ^^
Super stoked!
does anyone have resources that they’d be open to sharing that could help me figure this out at least please?
all I have for gardening is this: https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GyPgetnBlxypFaYzvGSyhGPntXnpMxsm_q8zvXYHEqg/edit#heading=h.4rn3fsx0rkaz sen aka posted this a few days ago, credit to them. but if you need any other help let us know, can try to help further
thank you guys so much! i’m just a bit overwhelmed by it, those both help so much💕💕 @tacit stratus @clear kindle
i was just doing tomato seeds and potato preserves forever and i feel like that could be better
starting off, tomatoes and potatoes are the way to go, at least for me it was. once i got blueberries and apples i've moved up to different layouts.
Oh yea of course that comes into play, this was purely just a list of each crops highest value without all other factors taken into account. Also technically apple seeds sell for a higher price but at 10:1 is actually less good than jam. I guess though if you don't even have atleast the seeder than none of it matters.
Hi I'm wondering somethings about gardening. I'm currently doing a 6x6 setup and was wondering if I should sell all the plants, make seeds out of them and sell or sell them and make seeds to use. Or just buy the needed seeds. Or maybe cook it Into food. Would love to hear what to do. I'm a new player. Farm level 3.
i would put everything to seeds. seeds make more money. replant any star seeds back to the plot, keep some for replant if necessary and then sell the rest. once you have access to the preserve jars at level 8, star crops to seed and replacements and normal to preserve jars. eventually, as your level goes up, you'll get more star crops and less normal crops then seeds as needed and preserve jars combined
except for cotton - sell cotton straight from plot to bin unless you want to make your own fabric with a loom instead of buying it from tish's store
Hi, Mindy! I hope you're enjoying the game so far. I was going to add my two cents, but @clear kindle laid it all out as I was going to lol
Good info. ☝️
Awesome thank you so much.
Is there a way to remove a crop before it's natural life cycle is up?
not sure about pc, but on switch it's suppose to be with the hoe and press x, but i've never gotten it to work for me
Hmm I've tried my mining pick and the hoe, and nothing happened
You use the hoe and hold X or the right mouse button.
Oooh will try that, thank you
np!
OOooo it works!
This is a good chart to look at. Bottom left will probably answer your questions
tysm! i will start doing this today
Good luck friend!
question what does speedygrow actualy do? i thaught it speeds up the growth by some amount
the palia garden planner doesnt change anything when you add speed growth witch confuses me
hey, i just got my first bloobs! i'm currently doing a potato-tomato-rice-wheat combo and i was wondering how i would add in my bloobs?
This could work for you.
two of those could be seen in the trailer, bok choy and cabbage.
use the hoe with right mouse button instead of left to remove something from the grid.
you have to activate this calculation in the planner's settings panel, because this is an experimental thing yet and not guaranteed to deliver proper results - I use it nevertheless and it seems to work.
hi , I have a question. When my crops boost each others then I don't have to use fertilizer? or do boosts stack?
Like for example one of my crops is next to corn so it has the harvest boost, if i add harvest fertilizer then it means I will get even more quantity? or is it useless and I would be wasting the fertilizer?
Do crops grow at the same rate when you are offline?
they grow one tick (one more growth day) then stop
!crops (I just like using the bots
)
Crops can only grow up to 1 stage per Palian Day as long as your online. Keep that in mind!
Which crop is better to pickle for profit?
Apples
apples are the best crop in general, imho
What do you do with pickled stuff? Is it used in some recipes or do you just eat it? (this is besides selling ofc or using it for worm farms)
I sell it, if I'm not pressed on time I'll throw them into the worm bins and sell fert and worms. It's not used in recipes but can be gifted
Apples, potatoes surprisingly, and corn.
Also pickled potatoes are the best for worm farms.
What makes pickled potatoes great for worm farms?
for normal worm farms that is, the outcome of quality upgrade fertilizer is quite high when feeding pickled potatoes.
As for the usage, I use pickled corn as staple food and sell what I can't eat.
Apple jam is for glow worm farms, it generates the highest amount of glow worms,
50% more than blueberry jam.
what's the best way to make weeds grow where I want them to
Put weed blocker on the other crops until the weeds grow where I want?
Or just keep pulling weeds until they appear where I want?
don't forget, that having such a weed plot, is reducing your income by about 11%, which adds up within an in-game year. It would be about 187,000 less income with my garden for example.
Does the farm continue offline
!crops
Crops can only grow up to 1 stage per Palian Day as long as your online. Keep that in mind!
''As long as you're online''
Ah. That explains a lot thank you
Also something through my personal experience, if you are in your plot and your crops become ready to harvest, they will become dry the next 'tic' (at 6am the next ingame day). Even if they're water retained. So if you have crops that can be harvested multiple times, it is best to harvest it when it becomes ready to avoid having it stop growing and to rewater it.
Good tip thank you
Hello dear Palianers, i´ve need some help.
Is there a Cooking Beginner Helpfull Sheet for Plants with good outcomming that u could show me ? I dont play so long and have no real plan so i think its a good Thing to ask you all 🙂
I wish a super Day
Traumtänzerin
are peppers really not buyable from anywhere? :/
you can buy seeds from Zeki's store, or request them
sigh was supposed to finaly get my apple build started today, but instead im am making peppers xD i want a big stack in case i need it, got a quest that needs cooking with them
does a farming plot count as a crafting spot and I need a crafting permit for an aditional one?
That's what i did lol
Does not count towards crafter limit no that would be insane considering we only have 30 max crafter limit xD
Thats great, thanks! 💐
I found this list, which might be, what you are looking for https://gamingwithdaopa.ellatha.com/palia/cooking-recipes-list/
at start pretty much any vegetable is good (suggestion: carrots & onions) and some grain (suggestion: wheat & corn)
is there any way to choose how big trees grow from seeds? is it a time thing or an rng thing?
if i have a garden on a second plot, does it grow while im on the first plot?
tyyyyyyy
From seeds are instant and are identical for that seed type.
You can rotate them differently but a pine will always be the same size as another pine, etc.
100% water and weed prevention for 32 1x1 crops, or 4 2x2 crops and 16 1x1 crops
can exchange water retention or weed prevention for harvest boost just exchanging the pairings accordingly
I find water retain > weed prevention
I'm not sure, but it apparently gives a bit more than the others.
Also you're probably using apples for something else. (Though corn is a good substitute also according to the list)
It's only a smidgen better than corn, but I don't find myself making a lot of corn in my farms.
apple jam is great for both worm farms
I usually just sell the apple jams directly.
The profits don't seem worth the extra 10 worm farms since that'll be super late game if I do decide I want to do that, with how expensive it is to get more of them out.
Just wanted to share how I keep track of what goes where - customized homestead lamps! On lamp means star quality. Left to right it’s Apples, Tomatoes, Blueberries, and Potatoes (in the seeders) ☺️
Arent there 33 1x1 or 4 2x2 and 17 1x1?
What?
are limited on soil plots I can't seem to get more that 5
you can have 9 soil plots, bought from badruu each one goes up in price
naaaaw that not really what i mean. but very thank u 🙂
BTW for a system of harvest -> pickle -> glow worm it seems like corn is a really good crop. What do you prefer?
any site or place where i can see alot of diffrent paliaplanner layouts?
this tool on paliapedia can generate based on your input
https://paliapedia.com/tools/garden
i am useing it yeah :}

wanted to see how others do it as well tho was hopeing we have a saved database xD
yeah 1 of these the Credit: Paganochka, is probably the one i will use, high gold yeld + 5 apples
the 4 apples and 4 blueberry one looks good as well a bit less gold

there is another build with 6 apples but sacrficices a bit of water retain/harvest boost and gold for it
i am not sure if that would be better if i make jam and worms out of it
or is it an excess of apples
im doing this at the moment, out of lazyness, it just has potential to bug out
i just water and harvest and replant only apples and dont even touch the harvest boost crops XD
im a retired old worm farmer
but yeah multiple weeds on one plot has potential for crops growing backwards, so if that happens one would have to let a weed grow on harvest boost crops (which keep the harvest boost buff)
yeah you kinda have to sacrifice something for 6 apple trees
my style of playing needs more crafting writs. i'm maxed out and i need more preserve jars, but i don't want to pick up any of the other machines because they are all in use
Does anyone know / have a layout so i can harvest all crops? (but doesnt NEED fertiliser?)
in that guide - why does it have 'before/after level 25' does something happen at 25?
yeah starred seeds will most likely be starred crops, the chances for it max out at that level
so you dont need fert or cotton much for quality boosting
oh okay i get ya! thanks 🙂
is buying the seeds for 260? - the only way to get apple trees?
level 3 friendship with nai'o or zeki nets you some as well. you can also try your luck with zeki's machine
some have also said that if you have access to the apple pie recipe, you can request apples from trying to make it there, and once you have 10 you can place them in the seeder to get a seed. but i never tried it
i wish i could send apples but it wont let me send starred items
i have plenty to give but i cant XD
by the way folks, something I learned from my time playing mystic messenger
if you log in at the 10th minute of the hour or so (as every palia day is on the 15th minute of the hour)
water your crops then, then at the new palia day water your crops again
you'll be good for 2 growth ticks
just less logging in if that makes sense
i also wish i can send apple, i have a backlog of nearly 300 apples in storage waiting to be put into preserve jars. 5 apple trees with wheat/rice, tomatoes/potatoes and weed block fert is more than enough for me
Welp, this is proof that weeds can in fact suck out the water from crops (that are still growing), even if they have Water Retain.
My potato is still growing and it has Water Retain (and was watered yesterday in-game time).
is there a money making layout what doesn't use fertilizer and i don't have to water?
Were you inside your plot when the 6am tic rolled in?
OR were you out in Kilima/Bahari/Elsewhere?
i have been off my plot for a couple of hours, came back and found one of my crops with a weed on it with the water retention fertilizer and it needed to be watered after i plucked the weed
sometimes happens. try picking up the main house, moving it slightly to another spot and try again to place the building you want, then move it back to where you wanted it
i picked it up and it wont even let me put the house down where it was
Oddly enough, I think this happened when I turned my Switch on and it loaded me into my plot.
It seems to happen no matter where I am. I tested all the places you mentioned. It keeps getting the need to be watered even with water retain.
For the reason of the weed on my potato, it’s really not a big deal because only 9 weeds spawn on the garden. I’m basically purposely having the weed on my potatoes. That way, no weeds will grow on my Apple Trees.
ah, a weed plot
i've just decided to go with water and harvest boost on my apples with weed fertilizer so i don't have to do anything with it
i have to many apples to be dealing with it
Yup haha i got kinda tired of constantly pulling weeds from my apple trees.
That works haha i use SpeedyGro Fertilizer on my Apple Trees.
Yes there is but only 32 of them are water retained and weed prevented
what happens after level 25 gardening?
at level 25 i believe that all star seeds will give you nothing but star crops. at level 50, even normal seeds will give you star crops
so once you hit those levels and above, you don't have to worry about quality anymore
Sometimes when I put fertilizers in newly planted crops the effect will disappear later when I examine. Should I perhaps fertilize them later in their growth to receive the fertilizer (especially harvest boost)
fertilizer is used every growth tic at 6am. you can stack more of the same kind of fertilizer on the tiles
Does anyone happen to have that one layout for beginners that's just potatoes / tomatoes and I think either wheat or rice? I'm trying to help a friend but it's hard to explain it without the picture :(
make sure, that there is no weed on that crop, because whilst it's boost for other crop around is still there, the weed-prone crop itself cannot get the boost from other crop anymore, afaik.
Early game, it should make much of a difference but just do like a row of tomatoes, a row of potatoes, then a row of tomatoes for pure water retain.
Or add a row of carrot, onion, carrot to make it an automatic farm.
Or if they do not care for weed protection, replace the onions with wheat and the carrots with rice.
Since in the beginning I think you only have 2 plots? Or was it three. Idk
(then just turn all the tomatoes and potatoes into seeds for better profit)
because i had such a small backpack when starting out, i was constantly back on my home plot. so i was doing nothing but tomatoes because i was able to water them and pick them relatively easily. once i had more space in my backpack, i started tomatoes and potatoes to keep everything watered and allowed the weeds to spawn for the money and the achievement for picking weeds to get that renown. as you go up and get better crops that's really when you want to play with things
if anyones interested i have some layouts newbie to more leveled and some extras
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GyPgetnBlxypFaYzvGSyhGPntXnpMxsm_q8zvXYHEqg/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.4rn3fsx0rkaz
Is there any way to get an apple without buying seeds?
I believe you do get at least one apple seed as a quest reward. I don't know which quest, I haven't done it yet.
||Zeki or Naoi level 3 friendship ||
Thx
is the crafting licence limit only 30? T.T
how many preservation jars would i need for this, do i need even more if i use SpeedyGro fertilizer?
Depends on what you plan to preserve
The entire world =))
I would say one for each and mb 3 for apples, 2 for berries
Nice

2 for corn too and I'd think more than 3 for apples
What’s the most soil plots I can buy to plant crops ?
depends on what the end game garden is going to look like. if you decide apples will be the go to crop, and you harvest boost them with wheat/rice, you're going to be getting 120 starred apples for 5 trees
and 9 plots total as of now
Feeling pretty proud managed this without using the planner, its 100% water retain, i have to do ALOT of weeding though
never mind im in shambles missed one lol
the planner is no cheat though, it is just more convenient to work with, but you are doing pretty much the same as if you would actually do it on your soil plots. The other one, which auto-generates layouts though, could be seen as a cheat.
howre yall getting your seeds
do you buy them or rely on the seed collector? idk if i wanna buy another crafting license
@wary finch Oh yeah no worries with using the planner, I just wanted to try it my self since I hav ebeen using th planner since i got all 9 plots.
@fluid arch I have 3 seed collectors rotating, I kinda set one or 2 from each harvest through it
I use seed collectors to enhance starred crops, which cannot be preserved, and sell the starred seeds. For planting purposes just spicy peppers, blueberries and apple trees are starred, because I get no other qualities using quality upgrade fertilizer. In the beginning I made most of my seeds myself, but later on I just buy from Zeki (and get coins from him on a regular basis).
thanks!
In the beginning is relative though, because it takes a while before you get access to diy fertilizers.
This said, I have 3 characters running now, and the best start turned out to use quickly growing crops and use rice for quantity. This grants speedy returns on investment and quick level gain. But as soon as you can use peppers, blueberries and apple trees.
And keep a few weeds, 2 villagers want them on a regular basis.
Get your first main income from mining though, the chance of getting valuable gems outweighs the farming yield at start.
That is one or 2 more soil plots every ingame day, so yeah, mining is key at start.
Is this any good profit wise? I don't use fertilizer. All my harvest crops are star. I seed wheat, rice, and potatoes. Jar the rest (blueberries, carrots, onions, apples, tomatoes).
Fix the bottom center one so it's tomato - potato - tomato
And it doesn't look terrible.
You got the majority of the crops so that's impressive
Where do you find the planner?
hm, there is downtime today coming in, how long does it normally take until they are back up again? And will the time counter for buildings progress meanwhile?
I mean, this isn't EVE, where they say, we have an extended downtime and then it lasts 20 minutes instead of 8.
Crafters/buildings/anything that goes by IRL time should still progress while you're logged out.
the planner is especially useful, because you can play around with other layouts than 3x3, mine is 2 rows with 4 each and the 9th plot is shifted by 1 tile upwards from the bottom row. I use that layout, because I always buy 5 writs and extend the plot to the right 4 high and plant that garden within the forest there, looks very nice.
quite convenient with the water pond right near to it.
Does anyone have a clue, why the windmill has attachment points, can we mill flour eventually in future?
Do we still need to have 3 of a crop for it to take effect on apple trees? (Such as 3 wheat or rice for harvest boost)
just 3 effective ones, like when you put 1 blueberry bush adjacent to it, it counts as 2, if both touch the apple tree.
so I could do two potatoes and 1 tomato for water retention
yes
Awesome, thank you, trying to figure out a good layout for 6 apple trees
yeah, tomato potato tomato to give those three water retention as well
or 1 spicy pepper and 1 cotton for quality.
might be able to do 5, just want something that can kind of take care of itself
there are plenty of examples in this thread, just scroll back.
Yeah I'm going to look
i did five apples, with weed prevention fertilizer tomatoes/potatoes/wheat/rice. i'm getting 120 apples per harvest... it's actually to much
fertilizer only works for 1 tick, right? So, if I wanted to stack it for what, the 12 days it takes to grow an apple tree, I'd need enough fertilizer for 12 days, plus the additional time it would take to harvest the tree 4 times?
yeah, but the weed fertilizer is 40 gold for 20, so about 8,000 gold to get started
put blueberries adjacent to it, for speed boost.
then it grows in 8 days instead of 12.
what about speedygro fertilizier?
and with my layout, i only pick the apple trees. so the other plants never use the fertilizer
speedygro has the same effect, the boost is binary, it is either there or absent, it doesn't stack.
Ok so stupid question I'm sure but how the heck do you use a preserves jar?
Crop go in
Jar of pickles or jam come out
and each crop has a different time to make
Nevermind I am stupid I didn't realize it was a crafting station like the Wurm farms...lol
you are welcome cat, there are no stupid questions, we all were new.
in my case it is more like "have been" 🙂
Which row in the bottom center plot?
The center, the one going ↕️
middle bottom you have potato, tomato, tomato. switch the potato with the tomato to get the bottom tomato water retention
Awesome! Thanks @nova yoke and @clear kindle . Much appreciate the help.
Will there ever be a time where we have more than 9 plots or is that set in earth?
No definite word of there being more or exactly 9 plots
I guess it is a matter of balancing the game, more plots means more income and prices for other stuff would have to be adjusted in order to keep a balance between the professions.
but S6 can certainly do it, much like all the crop is pretty much balanced and higher value crop is adjusted in the time required to grow and post-process it.
Tilling the soil was the hardest thing I had to do on day 1 😭😭😭
I'm actually only using 7 at the moment and netting about 10k a day which suits my speed
I'm using the other two decoratively lol
Heya ive got an question. How usefull is it to take starred seeds on the gardenplott ... Would it give more or les starred Stuff ? Or is it better to use unstarred seeds ... What is ur Opinion
Chance of starred crops = level x 2 (+ 50% for starred seeds)
so i gues its a good chanec to get starred seeds back 🙂 Thanks
Is it better to sell the fruit and vegetables as seeds or just as they are?
everything is better processed. so seeds and preserve jars. except for cotton. cotton sell as is
you can see which crops do better as what
Thank you! ♥
so we are getting those 2 new crops to plant, wonder what the boost of those will be
but the only outdoor decor changes seem to be roof textures, that's disappointing.
we're getting the new crops, but what about more plots to plant them? i'm actually enjoying not having to water or weed my crops and i get more apples from my harvest that i have no idea what to do with them
one of the reasons I made 2 additional characters, who slow things down and avoid getting into the over-abundance phase of produce. There is nothing to buy with too much money in the game, so slowing things down is for now a good option.
It's more of my personal problem though, I'm loosing interest in a game, when it gets too easy to accomplish wealth.
well, and I'm not a gambler, so zeki's coins are of no interest to me.
I'm against any form of loot boxes, even if they are free.
The game has a few of those, I'm not using their contents.
Heya folks! This message will serve as a status message of the
Palia Garden Planner in supporting the new crops. Implementation of new crops will aim to be completed within 24 hours of the new patch dropping.
[ Status ] ☑️ Planner updated to match new version, errors may be present and will be checked when I wake up
do we know what the new crops buffs are?
I felt so overwhelmed with farming and found a plot guide for a 4x4 which didn't include corn, Pepper, or the fruits. Now there's new items 😅 I wonder if there will be a suggested buff placement in tine
probably water retain and weed prevention
MORE CROPS?
2 new crops
as a gardener I'm excited but as someone who finally has 100% weed prevention 100% water retain and growth boost on my apple tree and blueberry bushes I'm devastated
I hope they give us more plots to farm eventually
oh also every crop
I stole the base layout from a guy in here named wolf but this is my plot how am I gonna fit any god damn more crops in here (I hope for more plots too) https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-PCOTOCrOCP-TPTRORTCT-OCPCrOTPCO-CBBTBBPSpSp-AAAAAAAAA-BBCBBTSpSpP-OSpSpCTWCoPC-OTOCPCOTO-SpSpOWTCCPCo
Nice layout. I'm worked out one that is not perfect, but everything is watered and I have 2 apple trees, 4 blueberry bushes and 2 pepper bushes. The rest are tomato, potato, corn and onion.
You could probably just replace one of the old crops with a new crop that has the same buff
I change out corn for other crops when I need them.
I need every crop in the game Idk why maybe some sorta ocd
it took forever to get to this now theres more
I hope one of the new crops increases quantity grown. That'd be really nice.
hopefully one plot instead of 4
awesome news, thank you
is harvest boost different than that, I am bad at remembering what every buff does
harvest boost increases the amount of crop you can harvest
I think one speeds up time, one increases how much you get from each harvest. I also don't remember the names very well
Same lol, but you can replace like potatoes with another water retention crop or something, that'll keep your mirrored pattern and you'll still have potatoes since you have 10
ooo good advice, thankyou!!
harvest boost is what you get from rice, wheat and corn, speed growth is from apple trees and blueberries.
but what does harvest boost do exactly? cause I thought you get more quantity from it
AHHH okay ty, so it is what I thought
I read so slow
it's been answered already
jleanfjkefa
ty for your patience it's like my mind blocked out the first msg u sent
no worries
Ok so I have a question I can ask here away from the chaos. 🤣
My question is. How do ya'll tend to your gardens? Do you plant everything on day 1 and wait until all crops are harvestable? Or do you pick and replant as you go because gardening seems to be the one thing I really struggle with
I have my garden plan - done with the garden planner - and update my garden when I change that, otherwise I replant as soon as crops expire.
I pick and replant as things pop up. It seems like effects don't work if the plant isn't growing. Like I've seen things unwatered because the nearby plants are ready to harvest.
Replant as you go
it is easiest if you do one crop first then the next one, like all rice then the the next group of crops.
so what I do is, I will wait till something is done, then I will go through my garden picking it up and re-hoeing if it needs it, then I'll pick up the seed and go through the garden replanting and watering (I always harvest one crop at a time ex: all the carrots before I pick up anything else so I always know what goes where)
watering is always last* also
i have a layout of 5 apples that i only pick the apples and leave everything else, i only have to water and replant the apple trees
Yeah, this reduces the chances of you accidentally replanting in the wrong tile
and after watering, check for weeds, it can be that there are new weeds added quite a while after 6am, so check for weeds after watering.
Thank you all 😅 some good suggestions I may have to test out. It's hard finding the groove for it and takes so long for me to level and get enough crops for food lol
you could fish and grill those at the campfire.
just right at your plot, you have a pond there for fishing.
and if you cannot grill fish yet, then grill mushrooms.
so who is selling those new seeds?
Apparently you can buy it at Zeki's or in Delaila's event store
do we know what boost it grants yet?
Nothing official, Paliapedia notes it down though as ||Nappa Cabbage: Water Retain and Bok Choy: Weed Prevention||
We will see in 6min bro
cool, thank you
if water retain that's fine, but dang, weed prevention.... ehh
just lucky that my garden layout has neither of those, lol
it's all just about quality, harvest boost and speedy growth
Y’all are in already ?
Am I supposed to get a updated version or sum btw
quality boost becomes useless after a while though
yeah but I have 3 characters and the latest one still requires that
don't know how you can manage 3 chars 🙂
one at a time , not playing everyone every day
whilst the others have time to empty their jars and seeders, it is not too bad to have several
it is actually stress free, I select one to play with on a certain day and the others are resting.
all are independent though, no cheating here.
Y’all prepared yourself money wise (?
299,9xx
Money is spend that was never seen
I got 7 million lmao
My life savings are going in
no, I'll download it in 5 hours and play when it's safe.
I seem to be unable to locate the new seeds at Zeki's
I read they were in the market
I really wonder how popular palia will be, it's kind of a new genre.
Both
Im thinking they add them at Zekis after
Cause it wouldn’t make sense otherwise
after a quest maybe?
Nah you can just buy them in the maji market
ah ok
But il thinking after the maji market they stay
In Zekis then
the boost is very basic, no need to hide it behind a quest.
I just which we could scale wall textures some are so bold.
ok, guys have fun exploring the market, enjoy, I'm off for now.
no seeds at zeki, and no crops at badruu's stall. Anyone had a chance to check maji market stall?
Loading in maji just now
if it's same as before, stalls are only open during night
do we know where the 2 new forageables spawn?
Treasure at Reths stable
His oven
Another
At port
That’s the price sorry for that quality btw
Can't open the Maji Market stalls yet to confirm the new crops
4 chests found as of rn
Only midnight
New wardrobe piece
i found ginger in whispering banks
nice thx
and green onion too
Does anyone know if there's a chart online for the Perserves Jars?
I cant seem to find just a basic graph that shows the sell value of what comes out of the jar.
Thanks in advance
you can use that link to see the different items and if seeds or preserve jars are good
seeds are available at the maji market, they cost event currency (15 for cabbage, 25 for bok choy)
you get 100 tickets from kenli at start
Has anyone cooked up a new garden layout that includes all crops including the new crops?
Based off of this layout, mostly took an existing all crops layout and replaced some of the potatoes/onions
#🌱│gardening message
(Gold values aren't final, so not shown)
Are we getting more gardening plots??
the patch notes didn't mention it ☹️
has anyone gotten any of the new crops yet?
you can get seeds from a stall in maji market
Does anyone know if the Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage will be around forever or just for the event?
should be forever, they were supposed to be available from zeki, but they are not (maybe they will be after event is over?). As long as you have some left over to make seeds you should be fine.
The patch notes say that the new ingredients, foragables, and crops are permanent. The crops can be gotten from the luna new year maji market
no more plots available from barduu 😦
Y'all are the best, thank you
I take it the new crops have the same benefits as potatoes/onions?
Yep!
Palia Garden Planner now supports the new crops!
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app
Do check in case I made any errors, lmk if anything feels off or if you're encountering bugs
Gonna collapse and will see you all my next morning
Changelogs and credits for patch here: https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/changelogs
That was fast!
And https://paliapedia.com/tools/garden as well
there is an error in bok choy seed value, base is 15, so star should be 22. You have 30. Non-star is correct.
are you sure
I see 30 non-star
where do you see 30 for non star? in game or planner?
Ah he's right, non-star value is 15 gold so star should go up to 22. Fixed now! thank you gazar >:D
so you have updated your app already?
if anyone is interested, i updated my crop profit spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f39XkRS-H6WaeKaCwS_iyLZVhTvmfpu14irjb8K9awU/edit#gid=992716853
value for cabbage is based on paliapedia for now (still waiting for first harvest). It looks like bok choy is the new best crop for profit (best profit on raw crop, slightly less profit when converting to seeds/preserves; overall should be similar to potato) so that's a nice option to use for ppl that want weed prevention. cabbage on the other hand looks to be the second worse crop rn, above peppers. I still need to check if any of those 2 can drop additional seeds when harvesting or crafting seeds so that might boost bok choy even more (but given that corn still can't drop extra they might not)
where to buy new plants?
maji market, delila's stall
ty
hm, my seeders are totally silent now, is that just me?
wait, there's a new crop?!?!?!
more than one
AFTER MAKING MY SPREADSHEET ON CROP FIGURES, THEY ADD NEW CROPS!!!?!?!?!?!?
... that's kind of cool though, I'm not mad

I like that they are rather basic, so everyone can use them right from the start
I pulled up the planner earlier and saw the changes were up. Thank you for getting this out so fast!!!
I love we now Got 3 water retail crops… new plan on Way for garden
Well check the prices and they could replace the potato or tomato in the normal routine.
Na Im not in it for Gold… i want it varirity as if irl
cabbage is bad for profit so not very useful. Unless there is some new recipe that requires it, probably not worth farming after saving a couple dozen for possible future use
It seems like there are a few new recipes for cabbage.
even pickled?
yes, granted that profit difference for crops in palia is rather small (like 20% worst vs best), but cabbage is only slightly better than peppers
i see, thank you for the info! (sorry hit enter early lol)
My current plot layout only leaves one open slot for other crops sadly.
I need more peppers and blue berries for food items.
I like this windmill
If I plant an apple tree, will they also disappear once I harvest the fruits?
It's multiple pickings, like tomatoes.
I only have one apple seed right now
Oh
Multiple picking but eventually disappears?
Give it a harvest boost and it can give you up to 24 per harvest.
Yeah like 4 or 5 I believe
Okay, thank you!:)
It's the initial growth period, then every 3 days after the first picking (don't quote me on that however)
I updated my current layout to include some of the new plants. I'm in it for variety™️
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-PCbPBBSpBBSp-BkCrWSpCbPSpBkO-CrWCrCbPCbBkOBk-WRWPTPCBkC-AAAAAAAAA-WRWPTPCBkC-RCoRPTPCOC-CoRCoTPTOCO-RCoRPTPCOC
Only two.
One extra water retain and an extra weed prevention.
It's cabbages and bok choy
Hehe okay. Soon I'll be picking bok choy and cabbages and then make preserves (if allowed), pretending they are kimchi
kimichi is one of the new recipes xD
I'm interested in the price exchange of the bok choy since I hope it's more profitable than the carrots or onions.
Also there's now Kimchi Fried Rice sold by Reth in the market-
it is, it's one of the best crops for profit: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f39XkRS-H6WaeKaCwS_iyLZVhTvmfpu14irjb8K9awU/edit#gid=992716853
Is it possible to remove a planted crop if you put it in the wrong spot?
Right click with your rake
Rake/hoe
Oh wait, you're on switch, uh hold on
Ope, just figured it out. It's X on switch!
Thank you!
Oh, good!
ez
What crops give harvest boost?
corn, rice and wheat
Which ones give a harvest boost? Also, is there a place that lists what boost each crop gives so I don’t have to keep asking?😅
corn rice and wheat LOL
also the garden planner will help you
Sorry, I meant quality boost lol
quality is cotton and peppers
wow I tinkered around with the new crops. i hope im able to make that much in 30 days lol
Anyone having issues with game freezing while watering crops ?
yelling at my vegetables to go faster
btw, i think they're trying to hint at a third new fruit
New everything at max speed apples centric plan.
For those who need all the ingredients
Your out of your melon, just totally lost your gourd!!!
tbh it's pretty fast to grow. for the most part the napa cabbage slots neatly into where you used to spam your potatoes
i have hotswappable any crop spots so i put the bok choy there
time for more card games
Have layot for new crops but fully afk? No weed & water retain
on pc use your hoe with the right mouse button instead of left
no, doesn't happen to me
my issue is none of my machines are having sound or particle animations
strange feeling, so used to having these noisy stuff around my workplace
(it's the sound of money)
Who need all crops include new crops~ 100% water & weed
these wild green onions and ginger aren't plantable, is that correct?
im not sure where ot get new seeds yet maybe next patch
The new seeds can be bought from Delilah’s booth at the market.
The new green onions and ginger are foragables.
ok, thought so, but thank you for confirmation.
PLEASE tell me that you can convert the new crops into seeds
Im sure this has been asked plenty of times and ive tried searching for the answer myself with no concrete answer found. How does fertilizer work?
I'm going to sacrifice my apple and blueberry harvests to maximize stocking up on the new farmables, if possible.
@sleek mesa yuppers u can make them into seeds.
fertilizer is applied to your crops when they are planted, you can only place one type of fertilizer on a crop at a time but you can stack it and it will stay when you have to re-till the soil (except for plants that take multiple spots like apple, blueberries, and peppers for some reason it needs to be reapplied for those)
you can replace the fertilizer at any time by just using a different fertilizer on that plant.
you can see the different types of fertilizer here and what they provide:
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Fertilizer
@narrow widget thank you very much for the time u put into replying ❤️
no problem, if you have any more questions just ask!
forgot to also mention when you replace a fertilizer or when you are replanting those big crops, it does give you back the fertilizer the plant did not use.
this one uses a little bit of everything with 100% water retain and weed prevention, i am using harvest boost fertilizer on some of the crops to get the harvest boost to 100%
lol, this took more than 70% of your storage capacity, just for apples, what an achievement.
Ty lol took about a month
just, don't sell it, you know, gold cap is 300k.
I already sold 60 of em
We have Gold cap?
yes we do
much longer than this, the seeding is about a month with 30 seeders, ok, but you need 72,000 apples for those 7200 seeds, which takes quite some time to grow.
Ohhhh ok I didn't calculate just speculated lol
let's see, say 5 apple trees, 120 apples per harvest max, 4 harvests in about an rl day (if you rarely ever sleep) = 480 apples/day, which makes 150 days required to grow and harvest 72000 apples - or roughly 4 months.
I'd say even if you optimized growth speed, it took at least 3 months.
basically the work of a mad man, that makes it so impressive 🙂
hm, I encountered kind of a strange thing - I apply fertilizer right after watering my crop in the morning, but some of those consume the fertilizer as well at 6pm, which can just be a bug, I guess. Did you make the same observation?
well, I made a ticket about that, it happens consistently.
it might not happen with water retain, my garden has no water retain, so I can't tell.
That's my 2nd planting
My game is just freezing when watering, anyone else having this problem?
I'll close it and reload
yeah, sly reported the issue a while back as well.
hopefully not all the same crop type, because crops don't apply their boost to the same crop type.
So I’m pretty new and I’m only level 9 in 3 skills: Foraging, Mining and Hunting.
My Gardening is lagging behind at level 6 and I’ve only gotten a 6x6 layout. I’ve found a few guides on weed prevention and water retain and all that and it’s great and usually makes me about 4k per harvest. Love it.
But now my meaty stir fry needs Bok Choi and apparently there’s some other new food items? And I’m on a quest called “Your Order is Served” and it wants me to have spicy peppers?
Where do I weave all this stuff into my garden? I don’t have apples or blueberries or anything special yet. I’m not even sure I can get the spicy pepper seeds and I also don’t know how to level gardening quickly.
I guess I’m just lost because the guides never talk about these for profitability or for anything really. Maybe they’re too new?
anyone has an extra apple seed? i need one more for my layout. 🙏🏻
cant send star quality, or else i would give you one lol
at level 6 gardening you should be able to buy spicy pepper seed from zeki's shop. Skill goes up whenever you harvest something and skill gain is equivalent to the focus used in the process. I planted quickly growing crop at start, which can be harvested frequently.
And take your time, this is not a game where you would have to rush to end game for having fun. Invest your renown gained from interacting with villagers and quests in focus boost at the phoenix shrine (quest with jina required to have this opportunity though), that speeds up skill gain as well.
keep in mind, when you plant spicy peppers, that any pepper needs 2 boosters from each kind for the effect to take place.
For example rice and wheat for harvest boost, which increases the quantity of the harvest.
try this, an easy layout even using the new crop for 2x2 https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-11-11_CROPS-SpSpRSpSpCoRCoW-SpSpRSpSpCoRCoC-SpSpCrSpSpCoBkOBk-SpSpOSpSpCCbTCb
@verbal bridge
Didn't I head that tomatoes were really good for money making?
What's the best plot set up to grow a lot of star blueberries
water retain, bah, I'm all for rice and cotton in between peppers for as long as one doesn't have blueberries.
just make sure they have harvest boost and quality boost going on
how long do trees last when planted
all regrowing crops rn are 4 harvests total, for apple tree thats 30 in-game days total
great.. thanks!
this was my peppers and blueberry garden with 9 blueberries and 5 peppers, it worked great https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-11111-11111_CROPS-CoBBRBBSp.QSp.QSp-RBBCoBBSpRSp-RBBCoBBSpRSp-RBBCoBBSpRSp-NNNNNNSpCoR-Sp.QSp.QSpRBBCoBB-SpCoSpRBBCoBB-SpCoSpRBBCoBB-SpCoSpRBBCoBB-SpBBRBBNNN
it can be used for 14 peppers as well, but then the bush to the right and in the upper right corner has to be fertilized as well.
How do we get the seeds for the bok choy and cabbage?
you buy them from a stall at maji market
Got it, ty!
the reason why I suggest rice and cotton in between peppers or blueberries is, rice is growing quickly and you need cotton for fabric, when you'll add a bunch of preserve jars later on, so getting some cotton low quality for the loom and star quality for sale early on is a good choice -and you have harvest and quality boost as well.
Would be nice to have a full water retained one similar like yours!
convenience costs you money, being lazy is expensive.
Wow thank you!
Yeah my problem with the guide I was following is that it didn’t contain any cotton and I ran out of fabric for bug bombs and other stuff. Bummed me out. Also didn’t know how to incorporate peppers into my build
But I’m reading this new google docs sheet about everything right now
low quality cotton for the loom, star quality cotton for sale - you need fabric for the preserve jars later on, so it is good to start early with stockpiling cotton.
After my recent set of crops sells I’ll be able to afford my 9th plot of soil
Which is great I think
I love cotton
Also sometimes the Hunter guy likes it for a gift 🤷
Hassian
I just want a little bit of everything so I can make everything - food recipes, gifts, sell for money, enough to recycle plants to get free seeds etc
I do that in my garden whenever I would have to replace one of the blueberries or peppers, plant in their space those quickly growing required stuff supported by rice of course and when I have enough of those, I replant the blueberries or peppers.
like potatoes for pickled potatoes which go into a worm farm.
Suddenly hit end game recipes and was like… I am not prepared
I'm a lousy cook in game, but I have a lot of pickled corn to eat 🙂
it is somewhat expensive to do that though, replacing the rice with corn costs a lot of money in the long run.
I calculate my garden with 360 days, to see the difference it makes, when I replace a crop type with another of the same kind.
can be a difference of 500 gold/day sometimes.
I’m just waiting on payday to get my last soil tile
Then I can join the big leagues with huge grids
have you seen my weirdly shaped garden above? I really love it and it fits so well into a clearing in the forest on my plot.
I don’t think so
yeah but I have it upright on the plot, fits nicely to the right side, where the water pond is
can have an apple tree as well, but I'm not that fond of an apple tree actually.
How would I expand the 6x6 grid you posted to 9x9?
This one
What is the mistake?
this one, I didn't boost the left side correctly before. https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-SpSpRSpSpCoRCoCb-SpSpRSpSpCoBkCBk-SpSpRSpSpCoCOCr-SpSpRSpSpCoRCoBk-SpSpRSpSpCoCbTCb-SpSpRSpSpCoPTCr-SpSpRSpSpCoRCoCb-SpSpRSpSpCoBkCBk-SpSpRSpSpCoBkOBk
now it's 100% quality boost
but when you later on add blueberries, it has to be changed a lot to get the most out of it, it is just temporarily useful.
my somewhat rectangular garden is optimized for blueberries and peppers, it has just those bushes, rice and cotton, and requires just 4 fertilzer per day
Well im gardening level 6 so blueberries won’t be for a long time
you think so, but you will use nearly all of your focus bar per harvest
All the other crops are right but there’s way more than 9 peppers there
you have now 9 peppers with this layout, my weird garden has 14, if you replace all the blueberries with peppers 🙂
I need to cook something else until I can do meaty stir fry again 😭
But that’s one gave me a full focus bar in 1 go
The layout is showing me 9 x 4 peppers
yeah, that is what I meant, you will progress much faster now.
nah, 4 is one pepper bush
you have 9 bushes but a lot of other crops, my garden has just bushes and rice and cotton, no other stuff.
but I have 14 bushes
if I need something else, I just buy it from badruu's store at the farm.
the thing with my garden layout is, the peppers in the middle make quality boost easy for the whole of the garden, which then just needs some cotton in between to achieve that. Whilst the blueberries give everything including the peppers a speed boost and harvesting very frequently is faster skill gain.
and it takes just 1 bug, 1 meat and 1 mushroom every 5 days to fertilize the garden, because just one bush needs support.
the costs of meat and mushroom (if I buy it at all) is covered by the weed I have to pull.
it's like 6 weeds to pull every day.
I've gotten close to about 140 of spicy peppers and blueberries. I sure hope this'll be enough for cooking for at least a while.
Here's a new potential layout I'll be using soon, to incorporate the new crops, which leaves 6 spots to do whatever
Also do seeded and jarred cabbage sell for the same?
6 spots to purposfully leave weeds if you ask me
if I switch to another house plot, do I get another 9 farming plots for each? or is just 9 total?
9 total between all plots
You're right! It would be amazing if my plots just doubled for simply moving down the road a little bit!
No clue why I decided to make this, and then remove all the outlines with the exception of the hat.
it might work if you turn transparency on lol
My goodness, why didn't I think of that
close enough
What’s the best crop combos? I currently have tomatoes and corn. I like that the tomatoes keep the corn watered and the corn sells for good amount of gold but feel like I can do better.
I have 🍅 🥔 combo. No watering needed. I get a good amount of gold.
Also potatoes are the best for worm farms.
Do potatoes also give watering effect?
In terms of worms and fertilizer gotten per 1.
Yes
You can see what it gives by the seed description
Yes.
Put tomato and potato together, (and now cabbage)
And corn with either rice or wheat.
And to avoid weeds just do carrots or onions (and now bok choy)
It's better if they're next to each other in the farm so they give each other the bonuses.
🥔 🍅 🥔🥔🍅 🥔🥔 🍅🥔
Thats how I have the rows. They water each other.
Thank you I’m definitely gonna do that now
I also have a 🍎 and 2 🫐 blueberrys bush. And 5 onions to keep the weeds out from tree and bush cuz I don't like weeding those.
Im gonna use bock choy or wats it called now for weeding. And some cabbage cuz I think it might gow as fast as potatoes.
I saw potatoes are still best sellers. The cabbed is a bit less in pricing.
I need to check the prices for the conversion rate of the cabbage.
Since you get 6 cabbage seeds per 1.
Also unless Its lying, selling the seeds, gives the same value as when the cabbage is just pickled.
Also bok choy is now the 2nd best crop, seemingly
It shoul give just a bit more because of the precess it's going through.
Maybe you look at normal seeds and had star quality cabbage?
Well I haven't tried, It just says that on the website for plotting. I wanted to stock pile at least 20 seeds so it'll be easier to mess around a bit.
do you end up preserving most of the crops, make them into seeds, or just sell the crops outright? I'm still learning what the best route to take is when having a little bit of everything in my garden :')
You can also preserve then worm farm but its slower so best run over night / offline
word, I never have enough gold it seems so I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck while still growing every crop lol
I like worm farming feels like i make a lot of money not playing the game lol
I haven't messed around with the worm farm too much so is it the fertilizer that sells for a lot or the worms themselves ? or both LOL
oh!! thank you!
You're not able to plant/fertilize your friend's crops even if you're an editor, right?
Ok does anyone else have this happen to them
Without using quality boost fertilizer I'm naturally getting more star crops than regular ones
Maybe you have star seeds?
What's your gardening level?
Chance of star crops = level x2% (+50% for star seeds)
19 almost 20
Levels can exceed 10‽ Oh wow, I gotta check my character 's profile later
So you have either a 38% or 88% depending on if You're using star seeds
There's no max level people have hundreds in their skills (esp cooking with cake parties)
I never use star seeds it gets really annoying cuz I have so much star produce but so little star spices and meat it makes cooking frustrating
You can lock up your star produce and stuff, what I do cuz I have so many star crops is lock up star forageables and check the cook with star ingredients option
Yeah that's what they suggested in #🐣│palia-newbies
My lockbox is pretty much seeds and star forageables
I wish I could just pick and choose star ingredients individually
Can someone explain crops to me? The fertilizers? Some of my plants csn only have two fertilizers others say I have 3 different fertilizers
each plant gives a buff to the plant next to it. Fertilizer is the poop you make with worms or buy from vendors. for example tomatoes give water retention, and onions give weed prevention. if placed next to each other the onion won't need to be watered and the tomato wont need to be weeded.
Ahhh OK thanks
read on the seed packet's it will tell you wat buffs each plant has
Why didn't I think of that .-.
to the right of the crop layout you can see what I do with the harvest, I preserve all except rice, wheat, potatoes and 2 seedmakers I keep running to make seeds for planting 🙂
also the buff works in a cross, not diagonal as well.
why not having star spices would be a problem? The game automatically gets non star spices if you run out of them
I save them if there's another quest like "your order is served" and I need to make difficult star quality meals
I usually lock my rare star spices. that way the game will just use regular
Does new crops added after event are temporary? Or they will disappear after event. BTW can anyone share farm layout with these new crops?(combine with all other crops)
They'll remain.
what is the best money layout witch apples?
i'm going to switch potatoes for the napa cabbage
it's weed free, fully water retention, and i get 120 apples per harvest if all five trees harvested at same time.
ty
This is what I'll be rocking once I get my stockpile of blueberries up.
Idk if the cabbages are better than potatoes however.
And it even leaves me 6 slots for whatever other crop I may need.
It isn't the best but there really isn't anything crazy expensive that you'll need right away.
Anyone see major mistakes in this? Not weeding nor harvesting Corn or Wheat, so weeds only stay there.
I'd personally recommend tomatoes over potatoes(since you can pick them multiple times, but potatoes are way better for the worm farm so it's up to bias) , but I can't say anything else is particularly bad since idk the value of the cabbages yet.
You can always add water retention fertilizer from Zeki's store.
The difference between those crops is anyway marginal if you include the time factor as well. They are all more or less balanced out to provide roughly the same income, if calculated separately. What actually makes the difference is in the infrastructure of post-processing you have installed on your property - it is clear, that with more seeders/preserve jars/worm farms you can generate more income per time unit - this is basically where the income differences are coming from.
And with a limited amount of machines you can use, higher priced crops generate more income per time unit, if you are utilizing your machinery to the fullest.
So the bottleneck is basically how many machines you are using and how well you can utilize them and if you are actually using them, because if you have overwhelming produce outcome and are just bulk selling that directly, your income per time unit might even exceed that of processed crops.
The value of an apple isn't really much per time unit, if it has to wait on being processed in a preserve jar for an average of 14 days before you gain 50% more than selling it immediately.
Post-processing crops is useful though, if you have longer offline times, because it will work while you are offline as well and generate income.
how do I get to 14 days average - 1 apple can be processed immediately, the other 28 have to wait, so 28x29/2 divided by 29 apples = 14 days average
with 31 apples it would be 30x31/2 divided by 31 apples = 15 days average, so the more you pack into your preserve jar, the more the effect of crop just sitting there waiting to be processed has a negative effect on income per time unit.
tl,dr is - if you have a use for processed crop or are offline for many hours, then post-processing is good, otherwise it might generate more income per time unit invested, to just sell it directly without further processing.
Are you explaining for me Lys?
no in general
Did anyone take a look at my layout question
4433 gold/day post processed, I have layouts with 5200/day with less hassle, but it is ok. the lack of quality is not that good though.
itisnot the amount of apples which makes good income, but a clever layout.
What's the 5200/day look like please
I think it was this one with 3 apples in my weirdly shaped garden https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-11111-11111_CROPS-R.QB.QB.QO.QB.QB.QR.QOA-CoSp.QSp.QRSp.QSp.QAAR-AAAAAAAAA-B.QB.QCo.QB.QB.QRRAA-NNNNNNAR.QCr.Q-Sp.QSp.QASp.QSp.QACoRO.Q-AABAABC.QRCo.Q-BRSp.QBCoSp.QRCO-Sp.QAASp.QAACRCo.Q-AB.QB.QAB.QB.QNNN
mhm
design your garden and machinery use for what you actually need, the solution is not always the highest amount of apples.
I calculated it over 360 days, that makes a difference as well, because you can see the effect of faster growing crops in relation to those with a longer time frame
not saying you should do that,it is just a solution for what I needed at that time and adapted to my garden shape.
I think it's also important to estimate number of cooking parties you do per real life day, their needed ingredients and group income. Compared to solo play without cooking parties.
yeah, design it for what you need, that is what I'm saying.
you have 6 apples and raw value 1.05 million in 360 days, my weird garden with just half as many apples has a raw value of 1.22 million, if sold directly - so having double as many apples is not getting you more income than I have.
I'm not running an apple garden anymore, I have no real use for apples.
I'm actually running this, 4250/day post processed, not as good as that with apples, but even less hassle https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-11111-11111_CROPS-CoBBRBBSp.QSp.QSp-RBBCoBBSpRSp-RBBCoBBSpRSp-RBBCoBBSpRSp-NNNNNNSpCoR-Sp.QSp.QSpRBBCoBB-SpCoSpRBBCoBB-SpCoSpRBBCoBB-SpCoSpRBBCoBB-SpBBRBBNNN
and fertilizing it takes 1 bug, 1 meat and 1 mushroom every 5 days, it's basically free even if I would buy meat and mushroom, because weeding covers those costs
from a certain point on there is no use for even more money in this game and I'm not a gambler, so not interested in zeki's coins.
Why quality boost?
50% more value
How is that calculated? I believe all my crops are guaranteed star due to being star seeded and over level 25.
this is for pre-25, and I'm just using star seeds for peppers and berries, because I have no other quality.
those peppers in the middle provide most of the quality boost, and cotton completes it. rice is quickly growing between those berries and can be harvested quite frequently and provides the harvest boost. just the pepper on the left needs quality support.
I made this layout to boost the progress of my 2 other characters, because it can be used as soon as they have pepper access with 14 pepper bushes and before that those bush spots are used for other crop, it is a start-up layout basically.
and whenever I need to grow something else, I use one or more of those blueberry spots for that, pretty flexible layout with good quality upgrade support.
and it is simple, wherever there is no rice cotton is a bush spot, so very easy to maintain, when I plant something else in those spots.
