I dont understand how to know what ingredient I am responsible for before joining the party. It doesnt say what each ingredient is required when I click the descriptions so I am a little lost. Its my first time trying to navigate how this works.

Do they tell me what I am responsible once the party starts or can I actually prepare ahead of time?

Ill be honest I dont got money to buy 50x let alone 100x for an ingredient and I haven't unlocked apples yet so im not sure how I can join cooking parties when I need to know the ingredients and have them ready before the party starts.

Because of this im not sure how to go about accepting parties.

when joining parties you usually sign up for a specific role prior to the party starting. majority of parties operate this way so you choose what ingredient(s) you want to bring before the party starts by selecting the role you want. there's roles that require no ingredients as well so they require you to just show up. for example in a cake party like you mentioned you can sign up for the oven role, or the spreader role, since neither require ingredients! its best to start out at cake parties in my opinion at those free roles if you can, and if not foraging 50 sweetleaf is the next best role in my opinion since that also doesn't cost anything except your time collecting the sweetleaf

okay so! it is through a website, paliaparty.app, that you just sign up for using your email and then you make your username the same as you palia username so the host knows who you are! when you click the description it just gives a run down and some extra information about the party, the plot, and the host! in there you will see the host's ign (in game name) and you're going to add them as a friend once you sign up for the role you're wanting and able to do (example of me wanting to sign up for sweetleaf in the pic)! and that's how you will be able to go to their plot, using the blue board at the front of your plot :) also all the times on the website are local to you so you dont need to worry about converting timezones

It means do your role only once per dish. So if your role is batter at a cake party for example, you make only 1 batter per cake.

they'd prob not be happy. if you want to bake 2 then youre taking the exp from someone else. if 2 people for example make a recipe that takes 2 steps, and one person decides to do 2 of the steps, then the other person is left out. if you dont participate then you dont get the exp.

if youre looking to cook solo, stock piling your preferred focus food, or putting 4-5 campfires in a circle and grilling unstarred fish and any meat would be your best bets!

or if youre open to cooking with others, cooking parties is absolutely the fastest way to level up! if youre not sure about them or have any questions please feel free to ask :)

Shouldn’t matter! :) When starting a recipe you can click “use starred ingredients”, but this still allows unstarred to be used. Not the other way tho, when starting a recipe with unstarred you can’t use starred!

The speed that you make it factors in (faster = better chance of starred) and using starred ingredients also gives you a better chance of starred food.

is there a "trick" to getting regular (not starred) meals when cooking? i dont have 1200 focus and i keep getting starred bean burgers which i cant eat yet without wasting a lot of focus? i am not using star ingredients.

and second question is.... why is wild garlic so hard to find?

getting the unstarred food is the same effort as the starred food so while u waste on eating compared ot eating hte unstarred
u more hten make up for it by making it starred

i mean this changes when u got excess unstarred

the output is abit random which one u get
so making it more unstarred would still cost u the same time effort ingredients to cook
but with eating hte unstarred u get slightly less focus if u eat near focus bar depletion

so when is eating only unstarred better
when u got tons of unstarred so probs eat those first(but i kinda doubt most poeple would cook that much asu would need to cook 4times more then when u also eat ur starred)

but now here comes the real kicker
if ur cooking for money eat ur starred burgers so uneed to cook less unstarred burgers so u can spend more time cooking money foods like epic sashimi or maws sashimi

I'm also not super into cooking often (I just want the personal completionist satisfaction of having found and cooked every recipe), but canned beans are fr the way to go. Pumpkin preserves are also good (starred is like 300 focus iirc) but less efficient as you don't get as many pumpkins each harvest compared to beans. Bean seeds are also super easy to stock up on if you're foraging often in the elderwoods. Other than that, if you hunt often steak dinner is a good lazy option, but you'd still need to grow wheat and either forage or buy spice sprouts from Zeki's store

also u get a ridicoulous amount of starred foragables from completing the kilima bloom event getting all the flower pot recipes takes a while

To add onto the convo above, my pumpkin stews haven't been coming out starred because the only ingredient I didn't have starred was spice sprouts. The other ingredients were starred and I did it in good time, and clicked the use starred ingredients option. So is that a bug?

that is not a bug and it doesn't work that way, there is no guaranteed way to make a starred dish and it all comes down to rng! there's things that increase your chances of getting a starred dish such as cooking the dish faster and using starred ingredients but it will never guarantee it

I chopped up all the ingredients and the only one that it wouldn't let me pick up was the meat, the last step was to put the meat in the oven but it wouldn't let me pick it up and do that

At the end of the chopping, the chopped meat would have automatically gone into your pockets. Do you have a second oven available to cook the 'bacon' ?

That means it was available to be added, so it would go into the second, empty oven to be cooked. Then, you collect the bacon and add it to the first oven where the oysters are being held. You may have had a one-off issue with the interact key not being available, perhaps.

if you select use starred ingredients it will prioritize starred but substitute unstarred once starred is no longer available! you can never guarantee a starred dish but using starred ingredients and cooking the dish faster improves your chances!

If you got Paliaparty.app and look at each recipe (when you create a 'new party' or by looking at someone else's), it'll break down every step and every station.

Alternatively, every recipe's wiki will breakdown each step, each ingredient, and each station need in a really nice table.

If you're cooking solo, two of every station will be enough.

If you're building for party cooking, you'll want to decide how you're running the party and where you want Overprep, which means extra of those stations.

it is luck based, but don't use star quality, make some mistakes on chopping, if it has a doulbe flip or stir do not use the first one and let if fail you can still complete the dish, but even then if your cooking is high enough it can still come out star quality

It means you need 2 stoves for that recipe. One were you start the recipe and add the indredients, and one where you prep ingredients. A lot of recipes ask for 2 of the same workstation. The best thing to do is have 2 of each and you're golden for all recipes in the game

The wiki has a list with how much XP each meal gives, so the best way to level up alone is prob to cook a bunch of high XP meals you have the recipe and ingredients for. And keep your focus up so you're getting all the extra XP.

I've been going to so many blooms to try and get the black and green flower nameplate. Of course I've managed to get both the other ones, but not this one.

You don't have to speak or talk to others. You can show up, do your role, and never said a word to others. A lot of people do this and most hosts don't pressure people to engage beyond doing the cooking (also, so many are on console and it's hard for them to type, so hosts don't really expect ppl to talk in these parties since they move closely)

And the "applying" is just basically signing up for a role. Pick something you have the ingredients for and are comfortable doing the mini game, and it'll flow smoothly!

Hey im having issues cooking meat on the stove. like the steak and the tacos. i think its the flip function. i press the button at the right time over and over, I've tried the controller and the keyboard on PC but nothing works and the timer runs out and all my work is ruined. anybody else have this issue? and what key on the keyboard is flip using a PC

It doesn't explain it well, but you need to hold the button until it's in the right place (the circle) and then let go

When you let go, that's when it flips

as the other person said its holding down the button until the dot is in the circle and then you release it once it is! and on pc, flip is tied to the mouse button with default settings

Yeah, some of the recipes you have to start on a different thing because thats where they "get put together" if that makes sense

Thats why the pies are in the oven, because their last move is to bake, and the sushi is on the prep table because their last move is to be rolled, etc

Im slightly confused, i have quite a few recipes that i cant find to be able to make but it shows ive made a regular quality one and I can't find the recipe in the room. Like the sternuk soup for example, its not in ashuras room and it shows thats where i get it from the courier quest but i dont think i can make it?

Have you checked the stove top to see if you have Sernuk Noodle Stew?

if youre open to cooking with others definitely join cooking parties as theyre the fastest way to level up! if you have any questions about them feel free to ask :)

if you prefer to cook solo either stock up on your preferred focus food or put 4-5 campfires in a circle and grill meat and unstarred fish
