thanks for explaining! I get it now
i've been using some basic items to get my focus up but since my focus is getting pretty high i want to start using actual focus foods but does it make a difference what ingredients you use? like more expensive ingredients give you more focus?
Hi everyone, does anyone know why I can't cook petit fives? I can't find the recipe, I don't know if I have to buy the recipe or buy the dish. I also thought that it had to be cooked by two people. Could someone please help me? Because I can't finish the mission "your order is served" 😦
I did manage to cook it alone do definitely can be done alone. I can't remember how I got the recepy tho sorry
Any recipe has only two possible focus values: base value and starred value (1.5x the base focus). Using starred ingredients raises the chance of a dish turning out starred (seemingly weighted by how much each contributes to the dish sell value), but doesn't guarantee it; other factors seem to include cooking level of the recipe participants and how fast you finish the recipe.
Starred ingredients also technically sell for more than their base versions, so the answer is "...sorta?"
Aahhh okii but there is not a difference for focus between for example a normal fish over an epic fish both non starred fish
Exactly!
Aaahh thank youuu
If you're gonna eat it, use the cheap stuff imo XD
Hahaha will do
Are you looking in the Prep Station? When looking to make it? You will need 2 of those. Not sure if you've checked that mentioning just incase cause I might be wrong but I think u should have gotten it with that question (maybe?) If not sorry I can't help
ty!!!! ❤️
Your welcome!
question: If you only have lets say 15 focus, but an action requires 50 focus. do you then still get the full boosted exp from focus? or just the base exp as if you had no focus?
i think u get the bonus for the 15 focus and base for the rest
This is correct. You always get the base XP, but you will only get as much bonus XP as you have focus to "spend" on it.
how long does it take to save for the kilima koi pond
It's 1,120 medals. You get 100 medals per week for completing your 3 weekly challenges, plus 10 medals each time you level up.
So, probably less than 10 weeks, depending how hard you go on the leveling?
thats not so bad.... thanks eliot !
Where are the weekly challenges?
weekly challenges are at the top of the achievements page, you unlock the weeklies for a skill once you reach level 10 in it!
Oh! Okay, thank you! I’m close to a lvl10! No wonder I hadn’t seen them
Is a catalogue of what the various wallpapers and floorings look like applied rather than just the preview in shops
guys.. is it a bug hat i cant chop the mushrooms while i make food?
Now ive gotten ruined food because it doesn't let me chop the ingredients.
Oh i got the chopping board btw.
It get stuck here
You need two chopping boards (you need two of every cooking station, eventually)
Hmm, alright! I will fix that
When one station is the place you combine ingredients, you need a redundant station for prep work
Thanks!
Np
This shouldn't matter for hearty vegetable soup
If it won't let you interact with the prep station, check that you don't have something selected in your action bar
oh it worked after I restarted the game.must have been some bug
I'm not sure if others have had the same issue, but I play with a ps4 controller, and I find when I try cooking, whenever I get to the 2nd cutting or rolling/activity, it won't let me interact so I have to 'unstuck' myself, which sometimes warps me to the very front of the property and I have to run back and hope I can finish recipes in time. Is this a common thing?
i know back in early beta the rolling pin used to get stuck and when you tried to move it the game completely froze and you had to exit to reset it (on pc at least)
did you plug the controller into a pc? id imagine that might make some of the controls weird because the keybinds are already so messy and complicated and they cant translate to cntr well
with so many bugs and inconveniences with the cooking skill in this game i mostly just stick to making a few dishes i know work and i dont have to use a rolling pin 😅
Does anyone have any tips or tricks on making non starred quality food? I’m trying to catalogue all the food dishes, but I keep getting star quality only, especially on some of the harder dishes…
huh, i thought if you made star quality it automatically gave you the non-starred version in the achievements. maybe they fixed it. but, to answer your question, let the timer go, do all of the steps except the putting everything together on the starting station until it's closer to when time's up. try to not use any star quality items, and mess up on the mini game portions a bit.
Okay, thank you, I’ll give that a try.
Also consider having someone with very low cooking level join you and handle some of the more valuable ingredient steps (though you would probably need to place the ingredients for them)
Any cooking parties going on rn?
https://paliaparty.app/
on here not right now but they might get added
I play on steamdeck and for some reason some things I can cut or roll hitting A and some I have to use the right trigger. Don't know if that's related to your thing but maybe try using right trigger if you haven't been
Anyone want to make some blueberry pies with me?
I can
Hello i have 30 FT.. someone can help me for chop? You can visit me pls 🥲
what would someone need so many planks for XD
Foraging XP, I suppose XD Or emberborn fencing? Furniture XP? 30 FT is only 300 planks or so
wut i get like 600 planks from that nvm that indeed is not that much
though its alot for my storage capacity curse u storage
It's ~10 flow wood per large tree, in my experience, plus party bonus sometimes
mh indeed not much i might actually be able to helpw ith that
For sell?
wait flowplanks have serious value?
Yes
Thank you! I'll try that!
11g per log; 1,100g per stack
planks are 13g each, 1300g per stack
...that still dont feel like alot to me though
idk, adds up with big flow tree chops given that they don't take very long
i mean i gues if u do 200+trees its nice
Depends how you value your time and how much you want dari cloves from foraging medals lol
true true i gues im just used to SUPER FAST methods to much
That seemed to work, thank you so much!
does anyone have the trout dinner recipe, and is willing to cook it with me?
idk if this is the right place to ask sorry
I do, and yes! Do you have the trout?
I do!
wait, I think I'd need to have it, lemme check
I went to cook it, thinking I had it and then I realized how you got it and am not really wanting to wait that long to get it lol
I have two starred trout stashed, so we're in good shape :)
we dont have to use yours, I dont need it to be starred, its going into the bundle anyways
The bundle requires it starred, last I checked
Yay! Glad to help
What's your IGN, Sky?
oh wait yeah it does
Puppy Sky is mine
thats so weird, its the only item in the bundles that needs to be starred
Added you! Come to my place when you're ready, got a few friends coming to get in on the recipe too :)
omw!
ty again <3 !!!
now I just gotta fish a hecc ton for the bundles
oh an apples
Question! What's the most efficient way to use the lockbox?
i put things in it that i dont want to fry by accident
whats the mostest coin dish u can make if using mostest coins ingredients?
wondering what hte highest value epic fish dish is
At least the muujin bahari dish doesn’t have to be starred, it’s a pain, you need 2 of every station. I have to expand my kitchen from small room to medium to fit the stations
oh I enjoyed that one
it was the first like decently complex one ive ever made
Someone can help me with trout dinner? I mean I put the ingredients but need somebody who have the recipe
@mortal quartz helped me with mine yesterday, maybe they are around
Thanks so much sky, but recently I can get the recipe!
all good!
Put all rares, epics, bundle stuff, hard to gets like gold bars.
I keep the things in it that I can ACCIDENTALLY craft/cook with but need to save for now: unstarred fish, uncommon bugs (I no longer craft Quality up fertilizer). I swap in various cooking ingredients as necessary for different cooking plans, but don't keep those in all the time except a small reserve of starred forageables and meats. Stuff you are saving for bundles or quests or that you don't want used automatically for any reason, basically. But my inventory in there changes according to my immediate needs.
Highest I've found is double Dari top-tier epic fish poke bowls, which are 994g each if star quality
("double Dari" meaning using Dari cloves as the "any spice" for the salsa in addition to the one required by the recipe)
😮 nice nice info very nice i asusme thats its starred value
ಠ_ಠ
...I think that's supposed to be napa cabbage. There are no insects required for that recipe...
wait lol but there ARE crabs required... but that's still the napa cabbage spot
Yes, "if star quality" as I said :)
(or 663g if unstarred iirc, but if you're using starred epics, the star rate on the recipe is like 95% if you have a full party of experienced cooks and don't dawdle)
even if ur other items are not starry? (like the heatroot
Yes, we regularly make the recipe with starred epic fish and starred onion/tomato ONLY and the rest unstarred.
ok now i finally know what hte profit rates are like on doing that thing man puts everything else in perspective
il redirect poeple who need insane amounts of coins more often to palia party then to join epic fish partys instead of just gardening
Not a bad idea XD
Also why it's a GREAT idea to call out dari cloves to the server and also flare them whenever you find them! Because people are frequently using them for epic poke bowls... ...and are happy to have you come overprep starred onions :)
oh i call it out most the time not evryone can always be bothered with interruptiong what ur doing for chatting
Yes, but I'm saying, the more people get to share that dari clove spawn, the more it ends up multiplying due to the epic poke
You can still do epic poke with heat root for the salsa, but you can't get around the base dari clove requirement
Not an obligation to call things out, ever, but still a good idea if you are up to it
how muhc do u make in one session fo doing that as onion overprep and how long does it take
Hm, a friend hosted a shorter poke party (60 rounds) last week, and it took about 35 minutes? That was on the fast side, though. We had a 90% star rate (some unstarred fish, I think).
Math follows: || [(994g * .90) + (663g * .10)] * 3 dishes per round * 60 rounds is...||
172.9k revenue, minus however you value 60 starred onions
But we have a dedicated community of fishers and gatherers: that had 3 people contributing 20 epic fish each, and 6 people contributing 20 dari cloves each, iirc
I see a lot of public poke parties that are struggling to get started because they don't have the fish or the dari people yet
i mean those are literly the mostetst important
but im surprised the daris are harder to find poeple for then the fish
There is also a functional limit of how many people can participate in a party, because the absolute maximum size of a server is 30 people.
Part of it is that you need twice as many of them
The other part is that dari cloves only spawn every ~35 minutes (if you stay on one server and don't server hop)
Meanwhile, 1 in 50 fish from a pond is a giant goldfish
(You CAN buy dari cloves for foraging medals! but a lot of people want to save those to buy koi ponds and bonsai furnishings)
yeay fair i gues the poeple wh o need most money are builders and they definitely wanna save theri medals
This is some bull crap
I fished in one spot for what feels like way more than 50 before and still havent gotten one
It's not literally one in 50... that's just the average over thousands and thousands of casts
okay I was super confused
2% drop chance
I feel like Im playing terraria 😭
Isnt it 5% in hotspots?
Not so far as I know
Wait I'm. Not familiar with the multiplication mechanic, does it mean when there are extra ingredients it makes more money?
I
I just opened 6 oysters and
I got 2 green pearls and one normal, wth is my luck
Ive opened so many before this and never gotten it but all of a sudden I get two
Nah more poeple getting daris is more epic fish partys and more money for the extra playrs partaking in it
Hey team, I'm struggling to get the Creamyu Carrot Soup after doing Manners, Manners quest. I can see the book, but nothing I'm doing is letting me interact with it, does anyone know how to 'fix' it?
theres more then one book right?
It's the book in the reeding nook where Kenyatta stands
who wants to do cooking weekly?
Now, or after reset?
(either works, just want to know)
crossed it as in not needed anymore XD but yeay its 3am for me so not after reset one day i learn to fall asleep when i want to
kinda sad it took 5hours before first response lol
ren when are the times u do those epic fish partys i wanna attend one cuz im running low on coins
I don't actually host any, sorry, lol
Anyone wanna get together and cook weeklies??
i was starter on a ricecrab focusfood party and didnt have any problems with it was saterday i think
were you holding down and releasing when it was in the circle?
how do u guys make it so celebration cakes use starred fruits but not starred sweet leaves?
put the sweetleaf in a lock box!
ty <3
run out of starry ones so it oauto grabs unstarry ones unlers ur overprep then lockbox the starred ones
uhm how many poeple can fit on one server?
what is the max size of a cooking party
Literally? 30 people, as that is the most a server can handle (normal server size of 25 + 5 extra through server sync). However, successfully filling a server requires asking everyone else on it to leave their house temporarily, so functionally, I would say 23-24 or so unless you start gathering for the party at least an hour ahead of the start time.
would anyone be willing to hsot me to cook Akwinduu Chapaa, Sushi, and fish stew?
ok so the absolute max is 30 which is obviously not always doable ty ow i can craft 30 of each workstationf or my cooking plot HEHEHE
Just make sure you don't place them ALL out at the same time, because the more stations you have out, the more lag you will get when cooking starts
oh cuz it has to send info and that whats cooking icon to stuff
That's my assumption, yeah. I had a friend who tried to have a single plot with party layouts for three different dishes, and it lagged to absolute heck even if we only had 10 people on it
looks like thats not an O=n factor then but O=x^N
That would make sense
Maybe lag comes from polling of station usage mh well i got the info i needed tnx ren
Is there a website with a list of where to get all recipes for bundles
there are on the wiki like this one, if you click on the item it will take you to the page of the food item where you can see the recipe and how to obtain it https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Palia_Chef:_Cooking_by_the_Book
Thanks
Additionally: https://www.paliatracker.com/recipes
Filter using the bundles :)
and also: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Bundles
Hi guys.. is there a list in accomplisments to know if I already find recipe from fishing? Like sushi
Not in accomplishments, but you can check the cooking station it starts from (prep station, in the case of sushi) to see if you've learned it
If you somehow caught the recipe but didn't learn it yet, and then destroyed the recipe item, you will still be able to catch it again. (I know this because I've watched someone reel in recipes twice in one session after they'd caught the recipe but didn't use the item immediately. xD)
Sushi and sashimi start from the prep station. Fish stew starts from the stove.
Check those first, but if you don't have them yet, keep fishing :) and make sure you aren't fishing in the fishing nodes (bubbles/hotspots), because the recipes do not drop from those
Did that answer your question? :)
Yes, thank you so much for your help 🙂
Now learning you can just fish anywhere?! I've always been fishing on the bubbles.
Yes, you can fish in any water that's deep enough! As a general rule, if you can jump in and "drown," you can fish in it, but there are also some spots that aren't technically deep water that still allow fishing.
Which npc again to upgrade pick axe tool?
Pickaxe (mining) is Hodari; he lives in Bahari Bay but travels to Kilima around midday
but the regular axe (foraging skill, tree chopping) is Ashura, the innkeeper
Thank you!
Preparing for that epic poke party. 🥴🥴 Only 18 epics so far. Just tons of rares
Are you hosting, or contributing to an existing party?
I normally join other people's party, with heat root or dari. . I haven't hosted a poke party before.
Ren are poke partys better then sushi or other fish dish partys?
Oh yes curious to know. Considering how rare daris are. Like does the profit % increase from bringing the fish.
i have never participated in a cooking party and i am scared to do now, its been too long 🥴
just join a beginners one first
I recommend looking at the party math spreadsheet and deciding based on what works for your group of folks.
see here: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
My group does a mix, tbh
Caveat: there may have been changes to this with this update. More info pending.
Edit: Giant Goldfish currently have no sell price (i.e., sell value is 0 gold for formula purposes), so, don't use goldfish, at least for now
Anyone online and want to party up to hunt? (:
You might be looking for #💬│lfg-chat :D
Signed up for a cooking party as a baker (cakes)
Do you need to pick up ingredients from other stations, or do they just need to be available (hand icon?)?
They just need to be available/on the "shelf" (hand icon/visible in the bar at the bottom of the screen)
Aah, I saw that doing the bacon-stuffed mushrooms. Thanks!
The cooking party went well! (And then immediately burned through all the cash on bags/recipes/crafters.)
On my own cooking: best way/area/method to get spice sprouts? I'll find like 4 at once, then nothing, and they're pretty expensive to buy each time.
I normally find patches while running around looking for copper (which I also need a better method of finding, Homestead furniture is copper thirsty)
After homestead there aint much to burn copper on xd
Paltech I think as well
Where to get sushi recipe?
Gloworms in pond 300+ attempts later yey
Anyone wanna do a cooking party?
Spice sprouts only appear in the NWish area of Kilima from Mirror Pond/Fields down to a little ways south and west of the farm. But if you make a couple loops of that area, they stack up pretty quick, as they respawn frequently
You can filter for them on this map: https://palia.th.gl
(These are not exact spawn points, just the areas they show up)
You can also server hop to find more
zeki sells spice sprouts
Yes, but, as Banrax said, "pretty expensive to buy each time" (especially if you're newer)
yeay he just need to make money instead in m y opinion but carry on with spice sprout maps and stuff
hey guys, can someone please help me make sushi ? it's the last thing i need for my bundle ! add me : Minalando
Lol sorry already logged off when I read this. Would've loved to help you.
it's okay, thank you ❤️
❤
if you still need it, I'm online now
What are the most profitable foods in the game?
Hello, could someone help me cook a cream of mushroom soup? I don't have the recipe
EPIC fish partys 😉
Cooking is not really profitable solo, if that's what you mean! If you mean for cooking parties, the most common one is Celebration Cakes, but the person in the linked message made a spreadsheet with a ton of info about dishes and their profits! #🍳│cooking-foraging message !
Palia party ap select skill cooking only go attend fishpartys
Everytime there’s a fish party I’m never on or they’re really early in the morning
I should start hosting
the button/key is supposed to be held down until it's in the circle and then release the button/key!
ahhhhhhh ok - that makes sense!!! Will try it tonight after I get the kids to bed - you are the best!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!🙏
The epic foods maybe. But mining is way better money especially with star stones drops.
Sorry, this is my focus food (and other things) spreadsheet :)
Cooking Party Math (cooking for profit) is here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1CqV_SHjfqaYcGcfqg4aVp21tYZACUDNMHYkTo9Wyu-8/
love the organization
Look at some youtube videos.
Hi ! Does anyone have the trout dinner or sushi recipe and willing to cook one with me ? I am desperately trying to finish my vaults
Hello, could someone help me cook a cream of mushroom soup? I don't have the recipe
Aww I just logged out! I have all those recipes! I won't be back online until later tonight though. Hope you can find someone to cook with you!
It's okay, I hope to find someone x)
goldfish are BACK
good thing i can't freaking catch one
I'm... sorry? D: Did you ping me on purpose?
i didn't know i pinged you D:
Ahh yes, replies ping the person you're replying to unless you turn it off specifically! No worries
https://paliaparty.app/jgo7ne
if anyone would like to join my friend
arent cake partys always with apples odd to be specific
Now they are, but in the beginning it varied, so the habit persists
ic ic
The best food to eat depends on your focus level!
it's easier to maintain with different foods that you unlock as you level up the cooking skill! i personally recommend stuffed cabbage rolls, tomato soup, or steak dinner until youre above 800, but the message im linking to has a spreadsheet of focus food options! #🍳│cooking-foraging message
Hey - I need an apple pie and a gold starred trout dinner. I dont have either recipe, anyone want to let me over and start the recipes (I only have 2 trout so it`ll be a short attempt)
Hey is there a way to mass cook? Kinda tired of being able to cook one piece of meat at a time
Do you mean on the campfire?
Yeahh
I have the stove and prep already - but I'm tired of cooking a singular piece each time xD
Yeah on the campfire you can only cook one piece of meat at a time!
Unfortunate
You can make multiple campfires and have multiple things cooking at once though!
I could, but then that's just more on resources and kind of a time waster going between all the campfires. Guess it's the only thing to do
would be nice to see if function like the smelter/loom and whatnot.
Thanks for the swift response.
Once you level up cooking more you'll be able to cook more recipes on the stove and prep station and those cook 3 at a time! And Im glad I could answer your question!
will anyone be having an apple pie cooking party ? cuz i could use it . it the fastest way to make money and it uses the less items to make it.
You can try looking in here

Random question.. why is Chapaa Masala considered epic if you can just buy the recipe?? Is it because of the dari cloves?
That's a good question. I think it maaay have to do with the overall value of the ingredients? (Dari cloves are 145, heat root 60, plus everything else) OR potentially the complexity ("spoons count") of the recipe, which is fairly high. Perhaps a combination of both, but I am not certain. Poke Bowl (which also has a heavenly spice mix) is also epic. Spicy Crab Fried Rice (which has a large number of ingredients on a short timer) is Rare.
I have found Poke bowl to be efficient and easy to make. One prep and two mixing stations, no stove or oven, gives 525 focus or 787 for star quality. I keep a batch on hand always to replenish my focus
As long as you can keep up the supply of dari cloves and heat root, the recipe itself isn't too tough. It's just a lot of rare and expensive stuff that goes into it, and a lot of chopping in a relatively short timer.
(As an aside, dari cloves spawn once, maximum twice if you get a starred one, in any given 30-40 minute period on any given server. It is possible to find more by server-hopping and/or region-hopping, but it's work. You can also buy them for 12 foraging medals each, or 8 per week from weeklies plus however many extra you earn by gaining foraging levels, but the foraging furnishings — bonsai, koi pond — may take priority there.)
They're also worth a whopping 145g each 😂
Hey guys, can someone help me make sushi for the bundle ? i don't have the recipe yet 🙂 add me : Minalando
Added you :) I have somewhere to be very shortly, though, so let's knock it out quick :)
oklay coming to your plot !
Thanks a lot ❤️
The recipe is so hard to fish
It's pretty rare yeah, just gotta make sure you aren't fishing in the nodes/hotspots and keep at it with glow worms in ponds...
Any cake parties I can join?
Try looking in here #1143270926394335282
Is anyone on and would like to party to cook? I have no food rn!!
I have no food either rn oops you said that 8 hours ago
hi guys, idk if someone has already asked but my cooking keeps bugging when i have to flip something (if i click it at the right time it just restarts) and I can't cook anything with a flip interaction. Anyone had the same and found a solution?
u dont click the button u hold it down then release when the cirlces line up
neither works
i tried every way i can click, hold or whatever and it just doesn't work like usually
It was fine a couple days ago :/
hummmm....
maybe try it with a tool in your hand like the hoe thats supposedly helps with cooking glitches
oh i didn't know that, imma try in a sec, thanks!!
I’ve been browsing the cooking parties currently scheduled but rn I have 100+ of starred apples, blueberries, tomatoes and peppers and want to make a large quantity of high value food. Never been in a cooking party but wanna chop some food with y’all! 😊
Off the top of my head, the highest-value foods for each of those ingredients are:
Celebration Cake (Fruit Frosting role, 1 apple + 1 sugar per round)
Celebration Cake (starter role, 1 blueberry per round)
Poke Bowl (chopped tomato role, 1 tomato per round, assuming the fish person is using high-value fish; usually poke parties will have OP open for tomatoes and onions, at least)
Muujin Bahari (Chopped Spicy Pepper role, 1 pepper per round)
Good to know! I’ll be on the lookout for open parties making those
Spicy peppers are also in decent demand for focus food parties (chili oil dumplings, spicy crab fried rice, spicy stir fry, among others)
Oh I’d love to make a huge stack of dumplings
Yea if anyone starts a new party and I’m not around plz ping me. I’d love to do it in the next few days, but I have flexible availability all week
Since I’m new I’d rather not organize and be in charge lol too much pressure. But I’m good to show up and handle tasks
Oh I found a cake party yay
Anyone with the Lucky Braised Fish and Mushroom Dumpling Soup recipes that I can cook with? Don't have access to those since they were Luna New Year recipes and I want starred ones for my plot.
Question cause I’m a noob… how do you get more recipes?
And can we make butter & flour and some of the oils/vinegars or do we have to buy them
You get more recipes by leveling up the cooking skill! So keep cooking on the campfire and then Reth will mail you letters in the mail about going to talk to him!
And no we can only buy those ingredients from Zeki's!
Damn, was hoping we eventually could
Maybe one day but not for now!
Damn… and milk/honey we can’t get ourselves have to get from farm or zeros right
honey is not an ingredient currently! and milk is also from zeki's! all ingredients are from zeki's except for farmed produce, meat and foraged spices!
Ahhh, so that bee was given was just a red herring where the text says makes honey but can’t get it in game >.<
We don't currently have foods that would require honey really! It's more of a lore aspect right now :)
Morning all
Do I need to use starred Sweet Leaf for the cake party?
Not if ur overprep but it does help to buff star chance of cake if not overprep bever required usually worth it unles ur saving it for something
what's the best way to get sweet leaf in bulk? i just went up and down bahari from the stables to Tamara's house for like 3 loops and came home with 20. What a grind
Let me know if u find out
lol
different subject, but cabbage rolls might be my new favorite thing to make. Not as much focus as the chili dumplings but faster to make with ingredients I have a ton of but don't use much.
I eat cake from cakepartys even the starred ones lazy cooking for the win
Yea, what are you supposed to take to a cake party to keep your focus up the whole time? lol
I have fun trying out different recipes at home though.
Lazy cooking? Preserves. I got 2 barrels for now. Need to save for those crafting licenses.
But thats do monetary inefficient
Cakes use up 340 focus per round, pretty silly! I forget to eat and end up bloopclunking if I have to manually keep an eye on my focus bar, so I personally like to bring starred steak dinner (337 focus), one per round. My group also likes spicy crab fried rice (400/600⭐ focus), but you really need a full party to cook it efficiently since it has a lot of ingredients and a short timer. And plenty of people just eat the unstarred cakes for time/effort efficiency reasons, but for me, if you're at a cake party to make money, the cost is too high.
the map provided on the wiki marks all the places where it can spawn, and a few youtube videos show the fastest collection route for sweet leaf
I go mining or fishing or bug hunting so preserves works for me.
well if ur only ever gonna cook cuz u have to do epic fish partys for coins and cake partys for focus
I wonder which is better... buying food (1 gold = 1 focus, typically) or preserves jars 🤔
Oh, definitely preserves jars, which are 1 gold = ~2 focus
Hah, funny... apple pies? not even 3 focus per gold eaten, yikes
and this is why i eat my cake party cake
Hey anyone have the sushi recipe and wouldn't mind getting a bunch of free sushi?? Just need you to start it at my house I'll make it you collect it 😏 I hate bugging a bunch of people when really they get free food it's just cause I don't have the recipe so I can't make it myself but I have everything to make it and can make it alone
Unfortunately, it won't truly be "free" for that person as starting the recipe requires dari cloves, and you can't "put down" starter ingredients like you can with other ingredient roles 😰
yeay the main cost of sushi is to start it
i can help out but only for like vaults not gonna spend all my precious cloves
What if you put them in lock box yes it will say you don't have ingredients but you can still start it and I have the cloves
Er... that's absolutely not how it works, alas.
then u cannot start it XD
Ohh
It will not let you start the recipe without the starting ingredients, haha
i can telll u how to get the recipe though'
What if you ask for cloves and I give you them then it's 4 at least
Fish with glow worms yeah been threw 300 so far still no recipe
Yowch, and fishing in regular water, not nodes, right?
recipes are from bubbles to (though idont know if thats lower odds or not)
quest items nope
Do you have direct proof of that, because multiple people's experience plus loot tables says nope
uhm i cant show it but i got mine from bubble all besdies sushi and theres a way to test it fast but it requires stuff
Yes fish regular and sometimes speicals but no I don't run around looking for speical places just fish were I go for diffrent fish and random spots
Bubble??
Bubble??
Ohh nodes or speical yeah sometimes
Well I got 19 cloves so if anyone is interested they can request the cloves I'll give to start the recipe then it's free sushi.....
bear i recommend hunting for ur starred goldyfish first by quicktraveling between bahary central and hideawaybluffs maybe u get it on the way if u gonna get that recipe urself if not since u can send daris i can help you
Normally I would be jumping to help just in general (have plenty of dari), but I have a bad headache rn
Well come help same name in game freindlymamabear
Feel free to friend me and when you feel better I'm always up for a sushi party lol 😆 😋
il help ya once i stop beign preoccupied
All good
I'll see about getting some folks together for it later :)
Again I don't mind giving the cloves so it's completely free to you all if your in party you don't have to do anything if your not then just putting them in the pot will auto make it think you cooked with us lol found that trick out
I don't think being in party affects it either way; starter always gets the dish even if they don't participate in a minigame.
il help once i stop being busyk
The criteria for getting credit for participation in a recipe are:
- start recipe (i.e., be the one who knows the recipe/provides any starter ingredients)
- complete a minigame (chop, stir, roll, flip; or take something OUT of the oven)
Adding ingredients from the shelf without then doing a minigame doesn't count, and putting down ingredients to be prepped (by starting a minigame and then exiting station) and then leaving without finishing the minigame doesn't count (though it still consumes your stuff)
So I just put all the food out and let everyone do the works?? Lol 😆 🤣 normally I do everything and my friend gets it sometimes when I have an extra person visiting or what not I tell them to put it together on stove and we all get food maybe glitch??
Yep, you can absolutely do that! Takes more time, but you can :D
put it together on stove
does it make them stir after?
Maybe but he can't flip so 🤷🏼
We actually use this all the time when inviting newer players to e.g., sashimi parties if they don't have starred rice. Someone with too much rice starts rice on a stove, new player finishes stirring it
New player gets the sashimi :)
Sorry hunting blue wolf lol
(rice person also gets the sashimi if they also do their own rice on a different stove)
Is that why you can make doubles and triples of stuff by accident lol
?
You mean like the transient ingredients?
like the cooked rice or the chopped fish or whatever?
il help you out in like 10-20-30 min
Ohh, yes, overprep (making more ingredients than the recipe requires) is a great way to cram in more people on a recipe :)
bear add me
I can't seem to find the Fried Catfish recipe
How i don't know your in-game name mine is same
yes
Ohhh ok
It's from Hassian's room iirc - do you have his key yet?
ur added if u dont c it relog
Yes, have key, I'll go look
Added
Found it thanks! . . . Another source said it was a quest reward shrugs
Hey friend! Did you still need those food items?
I own both of those recipes so feel free to add me & we can cook them sometime.
Hello 🙂 Yes please.
I gotchuu! My IGN is Raven V. Stryker
I can't find you for some reason, mine is DJ Swayde
I added you! I am logging off for the night- feel free to DM me to figure a day to cook! I got the ingredients ready ✨
Appreciate it and will do, thank you 🙂
Does anyone know off the top of their head if palia has cookies as a recipe?
There is recipe for macarons !
I believe Palia is lacking cookie recipes. I want cookies, tarts, cracker, crisps, pastries. I have a wish list for chief Chappaa 💕

Does anyone have the cream of mushroom soup recipe and are you willing to cook it with me? I’m nowhere near close enough to lvl 3 with Hekla yet and wanna complete this quest 🥲🥲
I just finished class, I have the recipe, I'll do it with you 😄
Awesome! Are you online? (:
About to be
Ok! I’ll add you (: thank you!
hey how do cooking parties work/find them? (i've stocked up on alot of wheat and some other ingredients and would love to join one, oneday)
Fish quality doesn't affect dish gold output does it?
Overall cooking parties typically work by signing up for a role and repeatedly doing that role until the amount of dishes are done!
I think cake parties are the easiest to start with, at one of the non ingredient roles like oven or spreader! The wiki has a cake party guide that explains the process of it all :) https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Guide:Cake_Party
The best ways to join them are checking here, #1143270926394335282, and https://paliaparty.app !
Only to the extent that it contributes to the chance of getting a starred dish, but the base and starred dish values are the same as you get with the same fish unstarred. However, very high value fish can SERIOUSLY push up the star rate if they are starred. The formula seems to take the gold value of each ingredient into account when calculating star chance (along with speed of completion and cooking levels of participants)
I say "seems" because afaik we do not have that formula pinned down yet (unlike the dish sell value formula, which we do)
If you have an overstock of wheat, especially starred wheat, you may be in good shape to participate in focus food parties in particular! (Chili oil dumplings uses wheat, for example.)
You may want to search the wiki for each ingredient you have and see which dishes it's used in, then look on PaliaParty for parties for that food. (And if you have a pile of starred wheat and just want to use it, I'm always down to cook more steak dinner XD)
sounds good, thank you! i've been saving alot of my ingredients so i can join cook parties in the future so i also have 100 + meat starred XD looking forward to join them soon. Thank you and Keykiah for your help!
Aka wittameta, looking celebrations cake party 100 est time afternoon thanks
Check #1143270926394335282 and PaliaParty.app :D
I will never run past sweet leaf ever again
That's how you end up with 600 sweet leaf in storage!
Does anyone get lag while cooking epic recipes? I was making muujiin bahari for the bundle and lagged badly. I was done to barely 1 minute left of the 6 minutes.
What is so great about the celebration cakes? It seems that the ingredients you have to buy cost more than the cake is worth even at star quality.
It's cost is very minimal when you cook it as a group, but profit is very high because you're only responsible for one role!
Oh I didn't know you could cook in groups
I saw a Twitch showing a cake party and everyone there got enough cakes to bill their shipping bin and made something like 30k-40k in gold from selling them. I've never personally done a cake party but that's my understanding.
That sounds like fun. I will have to join one of those sometime.
I think there's a channel that shows parties you can join
here's a guide incase you need it https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Guide:Cake_Party ! and the channel for them is #1143270926394335282
@gusty widget & @marsh drum Thank you both so much!
Can anyone help me cook sushi and trout dinner?
please?
for the bundles ( i dont have the recipe)
why cant i ask kenyatta to be my shepp?
are you at max frendship?
yh
then kanyata could be not a adult or it could be a glitch
I was assigned the overprep role at the cake party. Will I still be able to get the cake?
yes
if you still need help with this - make sure you have finished her lvl 4 quest and then wait a day or two and the option to ask should reappear. she can be a shepp
@obtuse condor thanks!
Confirmed, loot tables say nope, fished-up recipes including sushi, sashimi, and fish stew do not drop from hotspots, aka bubbles, special fishing nodes, fishing pools (DM for more info). They are, however, very rare drops (1 or 2%). So expect 200ish attempts with the right bait/biome combination, in regular water. Maybe you will get lucky earlier than that (or very unlucky and it will take longer).
try outside bubbles i probs got mine 1pixel outside of bubble
anyone wanna do a mini cake party? i wanna make like 4 lol
I just got sushi recipe from fishing at my housing plot while waiting for my plants to grow what the-
I've been fishing at various ponds for that recipe to drop
did u fish before in bubbles cuz apparently u cannot get them there
Housing plot water is also pond :) so yep, you can totally get the sushi recipe there!
its where i got mine after i had one starred goldy i tried to fish another one there for bundle
I fished at bubbles for most of the time for some quick fishing so IG that's why I don't get the recipe haha
Time to find the best fish to make some sashimi 🐟
i think i got one recipe from a bubble but ren said that some config file says its not in the bubbles so i gues i must have missed my bubble by 1 pixel
@errant python You might find the link in the message above helpful? :D
YOOOO thanks so much for sharing! This will be helpful
Guys, what kind of worm do you use to get sushi recipe? Do you need to get sashimi recipe first? If yes, again what kind of worm do you need to use?
To catch the sushi recipe: glow worms, in any pond, any time of day, NOT in hotspots/bubbles
No, you do not need to catch any other recipe first
To catch the sashimi recipe: no bait, in Bahari rivers (including Flooded Fortress), any time of day, NOT in hotspots/bubbles
Thank you!!
fish stew bahari ocean reg worms non bubbles
can someone w the sashimi recipe add me as a friend and then come over to my plot and start the recipe pls?
it's the only one i don't have for the cooking by the book achievement

any cake parties going?
Anyone know a good Focus food for fish recipe dishes?
Any cake parties?
You can scroll through here to find some
#1143270926394335282
as in, focus food cooked with fish? or focus food for attending fish recipe parties for profit?
Focus foods with fish for eating not for selling.
I have a ton of uncommon fishes I wanna know what to do with if I can cook it
where can I get a celebration cake
Hmm... well, if you've already got the fish and don't have anything more cost-effective you can make for focus food, I guess there's always catfish dinner for your stalking catfish. Seems a pity to use 200g fish for eating, though.
This assumes always using the cheapest fish (so, Kilima catfish for fried catfish dinner), so the efficiency comparisons won't apply, but at least you can find all the fish recipes in one spot: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
Just in case you decide you wanna maybe cook them for profit, here: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
fish stew might be a good choice for that since the other ingredients are easy to get
When you reach cooking level 9 you can purchase the recipe from Reth, then it will be listed under your prep station.
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Celebration_Cake#Obtain_the_Recipe
If you just need the cake (for a gift or something) and not the recipe, it might be overkill, but you could join a beginner-friendly cake party (see #1143270926394335282 and PaliaParty.app for listings) and have more cakes than you can shake a stick at XD
Ah I see. So common for eating
tbh at this point the only food-for-eating I cook with fish is fishing buffs, and then I use no-bait unstarred fish from my home pond XD only need 'em 10 at a time...
When I was a new player I used fish stew as my focus food for a long time, though
🤣
The answer to this will depend on whether you want to save time/spend the majority of your playtime fishing or whether you are concerned more with making gold
I'll check the spread sheet more when I'm on a desktop. It's a nightmare looking though it through a phone.
Yes, unfortunately, it's not very mobile friendly
Better with the Drive app, but not by much. I'm open to suggestions on how to make it easier to reference on mobile
Yeah I was mainly to know if there are like focus food equivalent of fish dishes like the chili oil dumpling for meats and spicy crab stir fry for the crabs.
Unfortunately, not really, at least not that are very money-efficient.
To start with, fish in general are very high in value as ingredients — even the cheapest no-bait fish (gillyfin/eyeless minnow) is 30g. The opportunity cost of any of the worm and glow worm fish will be much higher than that.
For comparison, Bahari crabs are 21g, though they CAN also be used as meat for any recipe that has a Chopped Red Meat step (including chili oil dumplings, cabbage rolls, spicy stir fry...). Meat is 15-16g (though do keep in mind that you can shove meat in a glow worm farm to make it worth 40-45g.)
I do have a friend who likes making bouillabaisse (any bass, so they use black sea bass (100g/150g⭐) since it's a byproduct of unicorn/blue spotted ray fishing). That recipe CAN be speedy with a full party and experienced cooks, but in my opinion there are more efficient choices since it also requires oysters (which the starter must also provide in addition to the fish) AND potatoes, which are worth a whopping 120g each when processed as seeds. x_X
But, really, it all depends on your priorities and how you reckon it.
The wiki does have a list of all fish dishes: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Fish#Recipes
I have a few total newbie questions on cooking parties that I don't see in any of the pins so...
- Does a station give you a visual indicator when it is ready to be performed, or do you have to watch everyone else to see when things are done and it's your step?
- If you start your step early (can that even be done?) do you mess up the entire recipe run?
- When you are at someone else's house, do you have to have your ingredients in your inventory, or will they pull from your chests at home?
- Is there a guide somewhere on how to setup a party-friendly cooking area? I'm a PC player so I have no idea of the needs of Switch players. Asking because although I do intend to be able to host cake parties in the future, I'd like to be able to set things up now to party beginner friendly focus foods (which I am always out of) and to do the cooking achievement that requires cooking every recipe with other players.
- What time zone does Palia Party run off of? I always see some time automatically listed, but I don't see anywhere on the site that tells you what time zone that is. I'm in the middle of the ocean so I want to make sure I sign up for parties that aren't when I'm supposed to be asleep.
Thanks in advance for your help!
- If your step requires someone else to do their step first (like batter, which requires ground sweet leaf to be done first), you can't do your step without having the prerequisite transient ingredients available. When they are, your will show up as "Ready to Craft" on the station's carousel, and you will also be able to see on the shelf at the bottom whether the prereqs are there.
2a) There ARE some situations where one transient ingredient type feeds into multiple step types: like there are 4 ground sweet leaf steps, and they go into 3 batters and 1 regular frosting. For efficiency, if you are regular frosting, it's better to go last and let the 3 batters finish their steps first so the ovens can get started baking the cake layers ASAP.
2b) The other thing to know is that if you do accidentally do your step twice in one round (which could be "doing it early," i.e. not waiting for the next round to start) that can mess things up, because it will keep the person who was trying to do the other one from getting credit for that round if they aren't able to pick up another step. (This can be especially problematic with the free roles in a cake party (oven and spread), for example - it's easier to do by accident because you don't have ingredients you're using up to keep track of what round you're on. XD
but it doesn't "mess up the entire run," just can cause a hiccup for that round.
- It will pull from your chests at home. However, it can help a lot to have the ingredients in your bags so you can keep count of the party rounds/whether you've done your role for that round. (It also helps you double-check that you actually have enough for the party. XD)
Additionally, for roles where there is a selector (like the "any fruit" on fruit frosting), if you don't manually select what you want to use, the game will look for ingredients to use in this order:
- if "starred ingredients" is checked by the starter (almost always the case), it looks for...
a) starred ingredients in your bags
b) starred ingredients in your storage
and if there are no applicable starred ingredients anywhere...
c) unstarred ingredients in your bags
d) unstarred ingredients in your storage
and ignores anything in your lockbox/safe storage.
So, the easiest way to make sure that you are always using apples for fruit frosting is to have the starred apples in your bags and no blueberries in your bags. The apples will be chosen automatically.
4a) General notes on plot setup:
This will depend on the recipe and how many people you have/whether you have people doing overprep/folks multi-roling. In general, it's best to not force people to "travel"/run around to access their stations, and to have at least one station per person doing each role (including overprep) plus a few extras in case of someone selecting a wrong ingredient and needing to swap. It can also be helpful to be mindful of lines of sight (space for the camera behind each station) and avoiding getting "yanked" by an oven, and so on.
Additionally, for certain recipes it can be helpful to NOT have all the cooking stations placed to avoid accidental recipes being started, esp. if you have mass numbers of people on stoves (e.g., sashimi)
The specifics of the ergonomics can be harder to explain concisely, so if you'd like to talk about specific recipes/setups, I'd be happy to meet up with you and share what I know from my own experiences and those of my party host friends!
4b) Re: Switch-friendly plots... based on reports from friends, so take it with a grain of salt:
- keep decor minimal (not none but having a totally full plot is rough; I generally aim for just a few hundred items beyond my global count)
- avoid having too many crafters, interactable items, or extra cooking stations not needed for the party
- complex builds with building blocks can cause problems since they have to be "re-built" by the game every time you load in
- some landscapes can cause more issues, but I don't have details on that
- anything that produces particles (fires, candles, anything that glows or sparkles or produces smoke...) or anything that does something when you interact with it (especially the arcade machine) will make things tougher
- things that animate or blow in the wind (mass numbers of flowers, to some extent trees) used to cause more problems but they supposedly optimized those better now
- having an area separate from the main party out of line-of-sight from other players can be very helpful at very large parties
This is not a complete list, so I welcome any additions or corrections as it is based on observation and not personal experience
If you know of a guide for this, please direct me to it!
@mortal quartz Thanks a bunch! I just did my first cake party since it conveniently popped up (thanks @timid shale !), but what you responded with helps a lot to fill all the gaps. Much appreciated.
- the time on PaliaParty is your device's local time
@mortal quartz thank you so much for all the info! You answered questions I didn't know I had yet lol - I have done 4 cooking parties and LOVE them - I for sure made the mistake on the first one of making too many dough each round but thankfully someone told me after a few rounds - I was not going to be able to keep up if I kept making 5 sets of dough every round but it said I could so I thought I had to ROFL 🤣
After learning that the parties are wayyy less stressful and so fun - and profitable! lol
XD almost everyone thinks they are super stressfull when they are almost too relaxed
cooking parties is something you just have to do in order to know it
Well I'm a believer now. Today I did a cake party that blew through all my focus food and then some, then a fried rice party for focus food, then a second cake party that used half the fried rice...but ended the day with my backpack fully upgraded and the iron chests that I thought were going to take me another month to get enough gold for. Yay!
Yeah, there are a lot of small tweaks and little considerations, ways of making things easier on yourself that are best developed through experience, even if some of them can be partially taught. The "why" doesn't fully click until you've tried to do it some other way and then you go ohhhh 😂
Hello where do I get tree seeds?
by chopping trees (med and large ones), you get those randomly
are the chances low for med trees?
if you need help and is online currently, you can party with me and we go chop some trees XD
I'm not sure about the drop rates.
I'm on rn
what's your ign?
I am new
What are cake parties? I’m new but I see people talking about it all the time, and I don’t understand what it is
Where can O get congee?
It is a campfire recipe awarded by a main story quest
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Congee#How_to_Obtain
Thank you
Cake parties are a group of players getting together at someone's plot to cook the Celebration Cake recipe together in bulk. Everyone brings part of the ingredients, which divides the cost, and cooking in a group makes it faster and easier on each person. When made with all apples, the cakes are worth 187g unstarred/280g starred each - and you get 3 cakes each time you make the recipe.
Hey ! Whats the max stoves/prep table/cooking furnitures needed for the highest recipes?
For solo cooking you'll need two of each station at most!
Thanks ! :D
ofc
does anyone have the recipe for hot hounds and would let me come over to cook it until its starred?
Does everyone involved need to already have the receipt to cook together?
No, only the person starting the cooking needs to know the recipe :)
Thanks
hi how much does cooking poke bowl with epic fishes sell for?
Depends on precisely which fish (epic fish have a range of values) and which "any spice" you use for the salsa, but the top value is 994g IF it turns out starred when using Tier 3 epic fish (goldfish, ancient fish, unicorn) and dari clove salsa.
See here for a tool to compare them: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
994 per dish or 3x?
Per dish
Thanks for the forward :)
In other news, I finished verifying all of the EXP amounts for all of the cooking recipes today. The only dishes that don't comply with the formula (cooking timer in seconds minus 20) are the Luna New Year recipes (see here: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Reth's_Street_Specialties#Maji_Market:_Luna_New_Year_2024-0) and Celebration Cake.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qPbCKTJg8xYlR1Pw60ZkaXAERRkXaMC0r3UZZKLWQ_g/edit?gid=160717569#gid=160717569&range=A1:N1
fun times:
Does anyone else shorthand the steps to their recipes when they're cooking? I got sick of referring back to the wiki for soloing dishes
Does it only make 1 like grilled fish or does it make 3?
Just 1, like all campfire recipes (except fisherman's brew) :( It's very expensive...
Same, haha
It's very fast XP if you do it right (circle of 4 campfires , r o t a t e - or some other similar configuration) and it's a decent use for fish you're just gonna sell. Lets you cram the fish in a glow worm farm if you need to, and otherwise unstarred fish have a chance to turn out as starred grilled fish. The +50% star bonus value is like getting a whole extra fish :) So even though I in no way intend to eat my 400g grilled stalking catfish, the occasional 600g grilled stalking catfish is a nice outcome XD
The Sporting good fish inside a worm farm always guarantees make a profit off of it because I'm I've been like concerned that sometimes I might not make the gold back?
I've got a Grilled Fish in a Glow Worm Farm spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qPbCKTJg8xYlR1Pw60ZkaXAERRkXaMC0r3UZZKLWQ_g/edit?gid=2046320579#gid=2046320579
Some fish do decrease very slightly in value; I think the overall range on a glow worm farm is something like -5 to +24 once you get out of the low-end range where rounding is giving you a glow worm that's worth more than the entirety of the food you put in, lol
But, also, if you are using your glow worms and HB fertilizer, you're making back that "lost" handful of gold several times over
crafter time is also value to XD
Depends on your playtime to idle time ratio, and whether a particular craft can run unattended overnight, but yep that is definitely a factor too
ive yet to do this!! that seems like so much progress in one day, and ive been playing for months as a consistently broke player lmao. i always miss the cake parties
dedicated cooking parties are GOATED
fish tacos is never done as epic fish partys right
Not never. It's a decent use for unstarred goldfish/unis/ancients, and also not-top-tier epics, since it doesn't require dari cloves and has one of the better returns for the fish contributors.
ic i have to have a stockpile of corn just in case then
so for overprep i need rice onions and corn incase i attend fishpartys
Yeah, that's the only problem is that corn is much slower to grow, so you have to plan ahead
at least its one of my fav crops cuz u can jar it as a harvest crop but then again leaves less room for planting rice of which u need more
renw hat should my stockpile sizes be for epic fish partys?
Hm... if you regularly want to OP onion at poke parties, those range from 50 (smallest I've personally seen) to 200+ rounds. You can also do tomato, but onion is easier. Same for epic sushi and epic tacos. It's like cakes: depends on how much people want to do at a go/how many resources they have to share.
I feel like 100x is very common, though
ic then i go for 100 cuz mpore then that will make me go nuts
Also, I had a breakthrough about the formula for cooking XP. I'm at this point about 95% sure that it's linearly related to the number of active steps and not to the timer. (The timer is also typically linearly related to the number of active steps, but not always, as with the LNY recipes (the timers of which are comparitively longer for lower-complexity dishes and shorter for higher-complexity dishes) and with cakes, whose timer was never changed after the 0.169 nerf.)
ren is our cooking scientist nice i can only make gardening layouts (and some fishing and bug magic)
I dabble 😂
Do i really need two of each cooking station or am i doing something wrong?
yes you need two. it's because if you start a dish at a station, you can't use that station for anything else because it's occupied by the dish you're making, so you'll need another one if the recipe involves other steps on that station
Party starting in 5 min - spots open ❤️ https://paliaparty.app/m82q8n
No way u need way more but 2 is a minimum for solo cooking
what's that, how does it work?
Hi, you register at paliaparty.app, then you select role (make sure you have ingredients shown next to it), add a person hosting the party and you cook with others and make a lot of money ^-^ check youtube videos - just type cake party palia and you will find a lot of tutorials on how it works, how to join, etc ❤️
Hi everyone, FAST cake party starting in 30 min ❤️ SPOTS OPEN 🎂Miishel´s 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 cake party!🎂 (x100) - https://paliaparty.app/s8ekmi

oh wow that sounds awesome! i need to join sometime 🥰 ty for the link
Upper right corner of E3 in caha bahari, there are two flux trees! Is there anyone who can help me?🥺
Calling that out in disscord doesnt really work cuz its only on ur server
I know, but there's no one near me, nor in the whole server...😔
Join a grove or ft party for flowwood
How do I join a FT party?
you can watch out for it here: https://paliaparty.app
cuz u need 2
Ohh okay thank you!
Specifically, any recipe that starts on a station type and also has steps that need the same kind will need 2 of them. The starter station is taken up with holding the recipe-in-progress and can't be used for prepping ingredients. :)
just make 2 of everything amd save urself headache
is there anyone who can help me to cut off a flux tree? d9, caha bahari, near the wooden little house...🥺
No shout that in yo server
Now there is no one, neither on the server nor nearby...I'm alone. 😦
How have you been so lucky to end up in empty Bahari servers twice in 24 hours? :O
Ikr im jealous
Maybe because I play from Europe, here it's daytime and I'm at home... I think I'm the only one with free time, at the moment. And it often happens to me to find everything and more but be the only one around on the server.😅
It's official, there are no player in the whole server. I wrote to three friends but no one responded me. 😦
Im eu to theres always poeple on for me often to many besides when i need together weeklies then its empty …
Here is the proof...no one responded mein the meanwhile.
...are you online, now?😅
I've been to Kilima before, there were people...but in Caha Bahari apparently there are nothing but chapaa, insects, fish, crabs, sernuk and muujin and that's it.🤦♀️
I usually wander around the entire map of Caha Bahari, every place where I remember finding something, and often come back dearer than a mule of things to sell and also rare things that I need. My friend on discord says that she gets seasick wandering with me, but then she is happy for how much stuff she takes with her.😓 😇 😅
And...another flux tree, always in the same sector. And a few instants ago I found some palium...
hanogn let me get online to proof ur just weird lucked
nope just you i got tons and tons of poeple in bahary
for flowwood attend groves with poeple in the server or fo to flwowood partys
poeple generally ignore the random trees
I found at least three or four within a few meters... I wouldn't say so random, eh.😿
I didn't walk around much, I found them all on my way.
A couple of players cut down what was little more than a sapling with me, but if they had just waited and followed me, they would have cut down a bigger tree. Same place, just a little higher up.😔
oculd be grove that noone cleared cuz ur on empty server
@vocal yarrow @tidal zinc
TYSM! Sadly all of us from the party are not working lmao
your avatar is SO cute.
the little frog on your head moving with your motions.
my plot is always open ur more then welcome to join here and we can try and cook party thingy
TYSM for your help!! Now it seems some are working lmao. Gotta love the bugs LOL again TYSM!! 💞
ofc np
i wish the bugs were fixed. i just want to place down a sink without my game crashing 😔
i just found an edit of Reth on TikTok. my life feels accomplished.
love how you agree.
accept my friend request bro LOL
We now on third plot and it's working. I have no idea ....🤣🤣🤣🤣
it could have been the recipe and how many things you needed to make it
Maybe. Just another day in the life of Palia 🤣🤣🤣
how many ovens and counters and mixing stations do you own
i have heard that cake party is most efficient way of moeny: is that right and if so, how do i join one?
you can either check #1143270926394335282 or check paliaparty.app website
"efficient" varies by how you reckon it (poke parties can be about triple the revenue in about the same or less time spent cooking, but load a LOT more of the work onto other activities), but cooking parties for profit are in general the way to go. If you mean money per effort/active time, that's probably gardening and processing your excess crops to sell (leverages idle time and time spent doing other things). But they can be quite synergistic, of course.
Sorry, I have a question: when a person enters to cook in someone else's house and they are not even friends, whose ingredients are used? Those of the host or the visitor? As always, thanks to whoever will answer me.🙏
Oh god, I actually wonder whose ingredients they are even when two friends cook together...🤔.
The only person who can use your ingredients is you. If someone else comes to cook in your kitchen, any step they do that requires ingredients uses THEIR ingredients, either from their backpack or from their home storage. (The only exception is if you start a step, back out of the minigame, and they step in and finish preparing the ingredient. Your ingredient was consumed as soon as you clicked Make, but they get credit for the step because they did the minigame. Useful if you want to share!)
Same deal if they go and interact with your storage chests: the chests are more like "portals to the storage dimension" - the guest is accessing their own storage, not yours :)
ditto the worktable for furniture crafting
Thanks for explaining it to me, I didn't know... anyway, I find it incredibly annoying when someone enters someone else's house without even being among their friends and then, without even a hello, does whatever they want. It's not polite.😔.
Once a player came to visit me and asked me if we wanted to cook together and so we did, and I was happy to have cooked with that person.🙏.
Do you have your plot set to Public? (only friends should be able to access your plot, by default)
Yes, if I'm not mistaken it was written that anyone could visit my house while I was present, I think... I did it because I was happy that the players could see the progress made in furnishing my house, as well as to get some more reactions.🥺.
There's also this... cute idea? going around, unfortunately based on a misconception, that if you cook at someone else's house and leave the food on the stove/campfire/whatever, the host gets the food when they clear the cooking station. So sometimes people will do that, thinking that they are leaving the host a gift.
Unfortunately, only those who participate in a recipe get the food, so when the host collects the dish, either it goes only into the inventory of the person who cooked it, or, if they have left the server, it just disappears :(
I've also heard people assume that the host will get the food even if you collect it yourself before you leave, but that's not the case, either
🎂Miishel´s 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 cake party!🎂 (x100) paliaparty.app/9pk4z0 - ROLES OPEN - starting in 3.5hr ! ❤️
i cant post there because it is bugged for me..
Oh, bugged how?
WWhen i wanted to post that party, i clicked enter and it didn´t post it, but it activated the waiting timer for 6hrs.... I wrote msg to mods, but they can´t help me - they told me, that only thing i can do is ask someone else to post that party up for me. So if you are willing to post that party to parties, I would be very greatful 🙂
Is it possible to "recycle" one of your old posts and edit/update it with new info and tags? (I've actually never used the parties forum here, only in other servers, so I don't know what the permissions are as far as edits.)
Dont know, i can try
If you don't mind, please report back, because I am curious :D
Whats the best stuff to cook and sell?
If you mean solo, then nothing really! cooking is only really profitable when cooking in groups!
Yep, only in groups, as kiah said. In general, recipes that use high-base-value ingredients (pushes up the dish sell value) and/or mass numbers of ingredients (also adds up to push up the dish sell value) and can be split among many people (divides up the ingredients to lower the contribution from each person) tend to be the most profitable — depending on how hard it is to organize the party and how quickly you can get through the recipe. Try this out: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
The only thing I recommend for cooking solo is if you have a bunch of common/uncommon unstarred fish that you don't have a good use for; in that case, the lowest-risk, fastest way to squeeze a little more gold value out of them before you sell them is to grill them. They have a chance to turn out starred, which gives you +50% value increase, and if they don't turn out starred, then you don't lose any value, either.
does anyone have the luna new year recipes and would cook them with me?
i dont got em sadly enuf
Yes I got all of them. Add me in game if you still want to cook
added! sorry just saw your response
I'm guessing you mean the 3 recipes you can't buy from the Tavern cash register? (the 6 you can buy are the only ones for the accomplishments, not that it's a bad idea to cook them together anyway lol)
No I mean the ones only sold in the market during lunar new year so like january I think? I dont have them but I want to use them as decoration
Right, yeah, the three that aren't at the Tavern cash register now — Lucky Braised Fish, mushroom dumpling soup, and... rice cake soup, right?
yes
Is it worth it to put celebration cakes in worm farms
Short answer: Not really, in my opinion.
Long answer: So, 3-apple cakes (typical for cake parties) do gain 17-22g of value each in either glow or regular worm farms. That's not TERRIBLE, but compared to most other things you could be doing with your crafters, the value added per hour is pretty low. In terms over overall value improvement, they gain a maximum of 12% of their value (unstarred in a regular worm farm), 8-9% otherwise.
Furthermore, they don't produce anything very useful once you no longer have use for QualityUp fertilizer (i.e., after level 25 gardening), other than maybe glow worms. Even so, those are some pretty expensive glow worms, costing you 25g apiece after you sell the fertilizer to defray part of the loss of the cake's sell value.
The real kicker, though, is that typical cake party cakes produce between 52 and 76 QualityUp fertilizer apiece. Fertilizer stacks to 100, and there are only 6 slots in the output bin on a (glow) worm farm — plus there are the worms to account for. As a result, either type of worm farm that is processing cakes will get through just a handful of them before the bin fills up and it stalls. You have to babysit them, clearing out the output bins every couple hours, in order for them to make any progress and make you any money. They will NOT run smoothly without continual management.
I guess if your only other option is to let your crafter slots sit idle, or if you just really need glow worms and cakes are literally all you have to feed them, then it's better than nothing. But, for me, I'd rather put something in them that's going to improve more in value and produce cheaper/free glow worms and harvestboost fertilizer.
Anyone have the fish stew recipe that can come over real quick?
Yes, definitely. I'll add you. How many rounds?
Just one to complete the achievement for me and someone else! Thank you!
o7
Anyone else having a problem cooking meat on stove? When it comes to hitting the middle of the circle, it just keeps going round and round or restarts, never completes it. Burned the whole dish.
Flipping is a little funny! It wants you to hold down the button and then let go when the dot lines up with the target circle. (Also if the target circle is at the 12 o'clock position, due to a bug, it basically never reads it right even if you are dead on — just hit your keybind to exit the stove and go back in to try again.)
Okay. I'll give that a try
Anybody who has cooked Lucky Braised Fish extensively: what do we know about the timers or ingredient triggers for the four flips? Any suggestions for cooking it efficiently with a group?
Hello ! I have trouble for cooking. For some of my recipes, like macarons or Petit Fives, they indicate that there is a missing station, like the mixing or prep station, the problem is that I have them, and they are the stations that I use to try and cook the recipes.... do you have any solutions for this issue ? Or maybe something that I didn't understand ?
Ok figured it out 👍 you actually need 2 mixing stations
i need someone to cook 3 dishes wiht me for weekly its not soloable
is anyone doing a cooking party today??
Is anyone not seeing Poke Bowl in their cooking list after buying the recipie?
It starts from the mixing table! Have a look and see if it's there for you?
is there more than 2 epic complexity recipes?
I believe so but let me double-check which they are
is it the chapaa masala and spicy rice cakes?
Okay, so, there are two different measures for dishes... one is the rarity of the dish and one is the "rarity" of the complexity (spoons count). Which one were you referring to?
the complexity witht he four spoons
there are 7:
...might need a translation on that GIF lol
its elmo staring blankly at the camera
Yeah, seems like 3 on the stove, 2 at the oven, one on the prep table, and one at the mixing table
is that a website youre using that shows which crafter and rarities and stuff?
It's my own spreadsheet XD because I recorded them all while trying to figure out what the hECK was going on with the cooking XP formula on the wiki
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qPbCKTJg8xYlR1Pw60ZkaXAERRkXaMC0r3UZZKLWQ_g/edit?gid=1536450613#gid=1536450613
see the "Cooking Experience (revised)" tab
I think the wiki may also have all this? but maybe not in a list? let me check
we need this pinned cause HOLY this is so perfect
Yeah, https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Dishes lists the dish rarity but not the recipe complexity
Seems like the wiki doesn't have the complexity recorded anywhere, actually, at least not that I've been able to find quickly
heyy, does the food rarity affect how much exp i get? For example if the food is rare or epic do i get the most exp for it? I'm trying to level up fast without wasting ingredients on low-exp foods lol
anyone planning poke bowl party tomorrow?
Experience is generally
'# minigame steps * 20' including all the chops, flips, stirs, mixes, and bakes.
However, you have to take the time factor into account, too. (Campfire cooking is surprisingly time-efficient for solo cooking, since using multiple campfires lets you start a recipe every ~5 seconds, but that's only solo)
see spreadsheet here: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
Any one having 100 celebration cake party, est time in us pls let me know thanks
Are there anything that's good for solo cooking? I'm still warming up to party cooking and sometimes I want to just cook on my own time. It's my favorite part of the game so far.
I am wondering if anyone can help me... I need to "acquire" petit fives, and phoenix relleno, chapaa masala, plus other dishes will come along in the future for quests. I really want to cook, I have tried, but I literally can't. There is some kind of Switch glitch where you can't interact with the station you're at. I have ruined so much food trying it after restarting my game or swapping servers. Is there any way around this? Like can I have someone over to my plot and have them cook them for me? I've tried requesting the items in the server but they don't get granted, which I am sure is because they are a pain to make. What should I do? Thanks 🩷
I don't know about the switch glitch, that really sounds frustrating 😦 If you would like, I am happy to cook with you for the dishes you need now. Just add me and DM when you are on!
thank you so much! I will add you
Even if it’s ruined, you can request them. I noticed that when I first ruined muujin bahari for the bundle. See if you can request any of those, then shout in server chat before requesting. Not everyone has extras in storage.
Will they offer those again?
i have requested them but nobody has fulfilled them, but maybe if i explain this in chat it will help.
spicy rice cakes
Thanks!
hope this is the right channel! I'm losing my mind trying to get emerald, it's just mining any copper rocks in Kilima right? There's nothing else to it?
Random drop. Just mine everything you see.
I was afraid you'd say that, thanks for confirming though at least I'm on the right track
Not everyone has those in storage. Also server primetime or weekends are better. I ll be in game in about 30 minutes. But I don’t know if I can search players names. Still sort of new to game.
I am not sure but Reth's booth is selling Onigiri and Poke Bowl.
I think it’s going to take me longer to log in. Copying important papers and printer is slow. I think if you join a cook party you acquire those dishes, recipes? Try asking in chat.
Those recipes are available from the inn's cash register and also Reth's register in the Underground :)
The three recipes that were added with LNY 2024 but aren't available anymore are not required for the accomplishment
You need starred version of everything for accomplishments but they can be cooked in a party.
I personally find Steak Dinner to be pretty ideal for solo cooking, if you're making focus food. It's one of the cheapest ingredients-per-focus foods, simple but (imo) fun recipe, gives you practice with all different role types and interfaces. It also adapts well to cooking with two or more people, if you want to invite people to join you once you get more familiar with the recipe.
Pan fried dumplings is another favorite, good for all different kinds of chopping rhythm practice (and practice selecting options out of the carousel), but not as cheap to cook solo.
Stuffed cabbage rolls ditto, though that one gives you green onion practice XD
For more options, I did a solo cooking analysis, linked here: #🍳│cooking-foraging message ("What to Eat" tab)
hey y'all idk if this is the right place to post, but a friend and i are trying to do a cozy cake party (she's a newbie host) if anyone wants to join! :D especially looking for frosters (so star quality fruit is ideal) bc i dont have any fruit as a n00b lol
Steak diner is quiet good but nothing beats eating cakes from cake partys xD
That's not solo cooking, though :)
If you're cooking in groups, that's a whole different set of math
and considerations
Check out #1143270926394335282 and #💬│lfg-chat! :D
Out of curiosity, how big of a home grove do people make for chop parties? Thinking of starting one but just recently started getting flow seeds
Seems most are 100-200 trees listed in there.
I got the chapaa masala, petit 5s, and phoenix relleno, but there’s no player search in game to look up people.
guys can someone help me with the petit fives?
If you still need help with this, add me, happy to help!
A few data points that you might find useful?
- one mature tree = 9-11 flow wood + ~8 sapwood/Heartwood, so 10 trees is on average a full stack of flow wood (plus extra from party bonus)
- max backpack size is 40 slots, minus whatever people carry around like food and repair kits
- with full focus bonus, 84 flow trees = 5000 XP (one level in foraging)
- 3 choppers will take about two chops to take down a tree. More choppers can be one chop if everyone is coordinated. 100 trees can take as little as 10 minutes to chop down once you start, if the layout is organized
- a flow tree takes 16 growth ticks at 6am Palia time to grow to maturity and yield a seed (and has to be watered manually in order to keep growing).
- 100 flow trees can take 5+ minutes to water, in an efficient layout.
If you ruin the cooking you can still request it. Just shout in your server chat.
built different
headless lmao
hey i am looking for someone to come and cook with me
My pal cat decided to stand ontop of my pan
Pan Cat Dumplings
Let them Cook
Anyone have tips for levelling up foraging faster? Cutting down trees is getting a tad boring, wondering if theres I way I can boost xp gain or something
for me foraging is one of the easiest to lvl up. you either just chop down trees or collect every gatherables on sight. to boost xp gain, you can commune at the phoenix shrine to increase the % if you haven’t fully max it yet.
idk maybe grow 1k flowers on ur plot XD it sure would be different though idk what hte xp is like
flowtree partys work to
or that thing that helps u find rarer foragables
i didn’t know that growing flowers can increase your forage skill 😅
i dont know if that works to but at least ur trying something different
Woah really???
Don't have the rare foragables thing yet so may need to ask someone for help with that but thanks!
i forgot what it was called but that radar thingy for rares XD
Perf, I have about 200 renown to spend actually
I just need the flow tree plank recipe for the glider lol
Sick of sprinting everywhere
dowsing rod xD
I anyone has a dowsing rod for foragables and wants to do a party i'd be eternally grateful
I do have iron cooking for the fine axe so should make trees a bit faster at least!
nahh i just found out on reddit that it did not increase your forage skills. they’re purely for decorative purpose.
so u get 0 xp u do get xp from flowtrees that u can also growe at least
flowtree partys best forage xp apparently
Ooo okay will be getting involved in all of the flow tree groves
Oh my god all this time I thought paper planes was the glider quest but it's like a bird instead and thats so much easier
I’ve been able to get to level 6 of foraging pretty fast by just picking up collectables in Bahari Bay
A way to collect them faster is to run and jump when you collect
Oysters at the beach, sweetleaf for recipes, any heatroot & dari cloves.
Make sure your focus bar is filled as well! Goodness knows how many times I've run out and haven't noticed
Flowers give zero XP toward any skill, sorry!
oops, sorry, later messages hadn't loaded in yet
As others have mentioned (just gathering everything into one post), the basic approach for leveling foraging is the usual advice for leveling anything - upgrade your focus bonus and make sure you eat so you can get the bonus working for you.
After that, it's just (a) gather everything and (b) also chop everything (except the trees/bushes that came with your plot, as they don't grow back!)
- Home-grown flow tree chop parties can be a good source of XP AND gold.
- Any tree you can't chop yet, party up with someone who can.
Here's this: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Experience#Foraging
What about cooking, it’s taking me ages cause it goes up so little even with full focus bar, is it higher the focus the better?
I everything is above lvl 12 but cooking, hunting and bug catching are lagging at lvl 8 even those are what I do the most 😫
how full your focus bar is doesn't matter as long as you have enough focus to cover the action you're doing without running out. if you run out of focus during an action then you probably missed out on some bonus XP.
best way to level cooking is to cook high level recipes like celebration cakes with other people. (it's a lot cheaper in terms of ingredients too since you share the ingredient cost with everyone)
what they said ^ but if you prefer to cook alone, just cooking a lot of focus food that works best for your focus level to stock up is another great way to do it imo !
What is your focus bonus % currently?
My focus bar is 700 is that what you mean
Does cooking with people give you more xp?
I’ve only cooked by myself
There are two numbers relating to focus: max focus and focus bonus percent
Does wiki say which dishes have more xp
Yes
Oh no idea will check next time I play
Thank you for your help!!
It's based on the number of minigames you have to complete to finish the recipe
But, that's just the base XP
Your focus bonus percent, which you upgrade at the Phoenix Shrine in Kilima (behind Phoenix Falls), determines how much of the base XP you get as a bonus when you do something that earns XP
(assuming you have enough focus available to cover it)
If you have NEVER communed with the Phoenix Shrine, your focus bonus is only 20% and you should go upgrade that as soon as you can
No, it's the same no matter how many people participate, BUT because cooking with others is frequently much faster, you level up faster (and more cheaply) than cooking alone.
But, also, don't underestimate the power of those campfire recipes. :) If you like to fish, and you're selling your fish anyway, try grilling them first. If you set up 4 campfires, you can just rotate around and it turns out to be about 5 seconds per grilled fish,, at 20 base XP (+ focus bonus) each.
If two unstarred fish turn out as a starred grilled fish, it gains 50% in value, so it's like a bonus fish worth of money. (As a bonus, grilled fish can be put in the worm/glow worm farms to get your bait back and then some, if you don't have anything cheaper to feed them.)
Does anyone know where I can get cave cap flowers
They drop from cerulean cicadas (https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Cerulean_Cicada)
Thank youuu
Is there another shrine to spend renown at, or only the dragon shrine? Cause I have thousands of renown points left and nothing else I can use em on
Yes, there are TWO shrines: the dragon shrine (upgrades max focus) and the phoenix shrine (upgrades focus bonus %)
Which phoenix shrine? In the waterfall temple??
But there isn't a whole lot to spend renown on once you've got those upgraded, writs bought, and wallpapers/roofs purchased
It's near the water temple but not in it. It's where you spawned in originally.
Head toward the Temple of the Waves but instead of going all the way down the hallway behind the waterfall to the locked door of the Temple, hang a right into the open hallway.
Ah ok, it's the one I'm thinking of then, thank you, had no idea I could use renown there
Yeah there's a quest that's supposed to walk you through it, but it's part of the huge firehose of info at the start of the game, so a lot of folks don't realize they can/should return
Be prepared to start needing to eat a lot more! lmao
I've dedicated one full line of slots in my bag to holding food to eat. I suggest Muujin bahari or cakes, they give the most focus from what I've seen
Depends how you reckon it. "most focus" can be annoying if you "can't" eat before you're almost out
If you bloopclunk (focus bar runs 100% out), then that means you lost part of the focus bonus for the last action you did, most likely, because you didn't have enough focus in your bar to cover the focus cost
I actually don't like carrying food that's more than ~500 focus. But, depends how you prioritize your bagspace, and also what you're doing, and what recipes you enjoy cooking/what your group of people tends to cook most often.
I tend to cook alone more than anything, and I keep 2 lines constantly dedicated to certain things, one is boosters like hunting horns and buzzy jars, and the other is a food line.
The bottom 3 lines are free for whatever I collect while I'm out until it overflows. I also pick 1 thing to focus on doing at a time, if I don't, it starts to get overwhelming. That way, I know that my 3 lines definitely have hunting meat and items, or a certain number of bugs flowers and silk. Helps me keep track of what's in my inventory, what to keep, and what to sell.
nodnod
Meanwhile, I'm a Grade A Squirreler and tend to prep my bags to do All The Things XD
and then sort it all out when I get home
Many workable paths \o/
It's important to know what works for you and go from there, which is why I tend to provide whole tables of information instead of "you should do X" recommendations
I have ADHD so I have the hyper focus superpower, and I've figured out how to make myself hyperfocus when I need to. But I still get distracted lol
It definitely is a superpower!
I can do that if I have a deadline, but it also pains me to leave behind useful things XD
you mean you want me to pick sweetleaf and clutches chest ignore the leafstalker mantises?
I just took down my whole house and almost my whole plot to change it around lmfao, all because someone made a joke about 1 idea that I had. Sensitive hyperfocus is the worst, but sometimes a good thing lol
don'taskmehowmuchsilkIhaveaccumulated
So this, I understand, those are limited bugs that you can only catch while foraging the leaves, makes sense to catch em.
But if I'm doing that, I will only forage sweet leaf and hunt mantises, I can't also hunt muujins or sernuks while doing it. It messes up my organization
It helps that if I just slap 1 silk thread into my otherwise-strategically-filled bags, then only the silk ends up in my backpack, and the bugs themselves just get sent home for me to weed out later.
If I hit 50 silk thread, maybe I should consider going home XD
I've sold so much silk thread it's not even funny
oh oh no oh please sell it as silk FABRIC if you can?
it's so incredibly worth the crafter slot time
It more than doubles in value in a loom ( 5 x 22g (110g) in silk thread -> 225g silk fabric)
Max is 30, but tbh I don't leave my loom out all the time
I don't have enough stuff to keep it busy all the time, so I put it away (and put out something else) when I have run through whatever I need it to process
Understandable, I stock up on things and keep the crafters constantly running, my garden as well
Yepyep
Water everything before I go out, stay out 1-2 days in game, and then go sell what I don't need and keep what I do to take it home and do it all again
I have a system that works for my brain lol
guys does anyone have any tips or can help me up my cooking skills?
i need to unluck fruits
You unlock fruit seeds by leveling up gardening and/or through friendship quests; unfortunately, leveling cooking won't help you much, except perhaps indirectly
ahhh true true
Fruit seeds come from being friends with Zeki and Badruu
well i still need the oven tho
so if i just level up my friendship with them i can get them?
Zeki gives apple seeds and Badruu gives blueberry seeds at a certain friendship level, yes. But for the oven, you do have to cook
Doesn't matter what you make, but I suggest trying to cook with starred ingredients, gives more xp I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that please
No, alas, each recipe gives the same amount of XP when completed regardless of ingredient variables, starred or not outcome, number of participants, speed, etc. The things that vary are focus amount (starred vs unstarred outcome) and dish sell value (ingredient base sell values, starred vs unstarred outcome)
If you don't have the oven yet, then your options are the basic chop-and-stir soups (hearty vegetable, palian onion - from a quest, fish stew - from fishing) and campfire foods OR to cook with someone else in their kitchen!
(There is also ramen, but it's expensive for the amount of focus it gives, so it's not my first choice for newer players; but if it gives you joy to make and eat more than it bugs you to eat your gold, then go for it!)
Interesting, how do you know that? I'm not trying to challenge you, I'm curious as to how you find that out
Lots and lots of testing/experience, lol. If your focus bonus is 100%, then each thing you do that gives XP will consume a focus amount equal to the amount of base XP. Makes it easy to check.
Respectfully, I looked it up and that is incorrect, foods that require more ingredients are supposed to give more xp, might be a bug rn
It's not number of ingredients, but rather number of minigame steps.
By "ingredient variables" I mean that if a recipe allows Any Vegetable, then using carrots vs. potatoes won't change the XP amount
That's not what this says
Okay, cool, test it out!
No, but if it uses 4 carrots instead of 3 you get more xp
That's what I just said though, "if it" meaning the recipe, calls for 4 carrots instead of 3, you get more points back
For a given recipe, that recipe will always give the same XP amount when you finish it, is what I'm saying
Yeah, if it's the same recipe repeatedly, I was suggesting that person do recipes that require more ingredients to get more xp faster
To stack it quickly
Okay, cool, then we're saying the same thing, basically
Lol yeah, I think it just got lost in translation a bit, hate texting so much because of the misunderstandings
I think that "ingredient count" is a pretty good approximation, but it still doesn't hold up very well for recipes that have multiple starter ingredients
Steak Dinner has 4 ingredients (meat, wheat, butter, spice sprouts); Ramen also has 4 ingredients (mushroom, egg, wheat, garlic); but Steak Dinner gives 120 base XP and Ramen gives 60 base XP.
Because with steak dinner, the minigame steps are: chop sprouts, roll wheat, mix butter, bake bread, and 2 flips on the stove (6 total). With ramen, they are chop garlic, roll noodles, and stir the pot (3 total)
The problem also comes in that more complex recipes take longer to cook XD
especially solo, because you need to do the minigames sequentially
I just do them all as quickly as I can, I try to get them perfect the first time so it doesn't take as long lol. Or I'll have mass cooking days where I only cook food and nothing else
I still think people are sleeping on those campfire recipes XD but also, cake parties are just... ridiculous XP
A friend of mine recently hit 9,999 cooking (the level cap, which I previously did not know existed)
Being able to knock out a 17-minigame recipe in 30-40 seconds is very powerful, especially when you're doing it 50-100 times in a row, lol
I like cooking parties, but hate that everyone makes cake, ngl
Yeah, more variety would always be good
I like joining focus food parties, tbh, because I like the idea of feeding people XD
Doing all that cooking only to have it all go in the sell bin, while incredibly practical and functional, doesn't have quite the same feeling to it....
I've done a lot of testing to try to find new recipes that could be viable for profit, but since dish sell value is based strictly on the sum of the ingredients' unstarred sell values (times a multiplier), your options are basically, like... cake, muujin Bahari (fun, but slow - 45 minutes for 30 rounds), and the any-fish recipes with rare/epic fish
Honestly I did a couple of "cooking" parties cause I was invited, and all they wanted to make was cake or pies. It was boring, and there were 3 or more people, would've been fun to cook something different
I kept telling them I have hundreds of meat from hunting, we could've made anything, and they chose apple pies and cake only
lol don't get me started on apple pies
I suppose they're just the best profit!
Cakes are... ...but not with three people :x
Yeah fairs
(though "the best profit" is also arguable based on other factors, like how much your regular group loves fishing, how much dari cloves you have regular access to, etc. Cakes are the easiest to host consistently and in bulk as the most difficult ingredient is sweet leaf.)
someone help me how to make crushed sweet leaf please
You'll need a mixing table and to have sweet leaf in your bags or storage. After starting the recipe that calls for the ground sweet leaf, interact with the mixing table to complete that ingredient recipe.
Before you start a recipe, on the recipe interface you can click on the icons of the different cooking stations the recipe needs to view each transient ingredient that is made on that station type
I already have all the items prepared, but I can't interact with the "make" button
Hm, mouse and keyboard, PC controller, or Switch?
mouse and keyboard
Can you show me a screenshot?
Should be "F" to interact
Oh, you need two mixing stations. That's why the "Additional Stations" area has a red mixing table icon.
The recipe starts on a mixing table, so you can't do the ground sweet leaf step on the same one.
You need 2 for macarons, try building another mixing table
@mortal quartz It's true! I just made another mixing station and now I can do it. Thanks!
Yay! Glad it worked! (Honestly, this is one of THE most common questions in this channel, which makes me think the UI just plain needs to be clearer, since it puzzles so many people...)
I agree, because in many missions I get lost and I don't know how to do it and what to do.
I've lost count of the amount of things I've googled for this game
My entire search history is Palia related lol
anyone want to do some Sernuk noodle stew? you dont have to bring anything for it. Just have alot of sernuk meat id like to put to use
If you've got meat, wheat, and/or spice sprouts you'd like to use up, could I rope you into some steak dinner? :) Same focus amount as the stew.
What is the best thing to cook for two ppl, to make money?
grilled meat i think
sashimi or fish tacos tbh, especially if you use rare starred fish
I favor fish stew if it's only 2 people, with you splitting the fish. Good use for unstarred rare fish! Super easy to invite other folks to come chop garlic, too, since they can go buy it at the general store.
But you can see a comparison of fish dishes here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1CqV_SHjfqaYcGcfqg4aVp21tYZACUDNMHYkTo9Wyu-8/
Keep in mind that the more ways you split the ingredients, the more profit each person makes (lower costs) even though each person's revenue from the party stays the same.
The maximum way to make fish stew profitable for each person may be a 3+ person rotary: each person brings 10 fish+10 any spice (more valuable = higher value dishes; recommend heat root as Dari is too precious/required for other things) and 10 garlic.
Then, for 30 rounds you take turns starting the recipe, chopping garlic, and adding ingredients + stirring the pot (free role) - scale up as your attention span and fish/spice stocks permit
(Of course, you can do that for sashimi and tacos, too, with rotating among the 3 roles)
Just checked and mines 30% thank you so much for your help!!
Ooh yeah get to upgrading that as soon as you can :D makes a HUGE difference
Got it up to 85% now to cook and see the difference 😅
Omg it jumped up so much 😅😭 it was always like a smidge and that almost went from halfway to full !! Thank you thank you thank you
Yaaay glad it helped!
I have a ton of shells, any smart way to use them? I mostly craft away my stuff, like furs and hides, but I dont what should i do that would eat up my shells 👀
there are some recipes from the bahari bay rummage pile that use shells! worth looking them up and trying to get them
Thank you 💛

hey can someone explain how the focus bonus works? is it relevant if you aren't playing in a group?
Yes see it as a xp bonus that depletes while using percentage how much bonus it gives focus amount 1 is consumed per extra xp it gives
could someone explain this one?
Luna New Year was the Maji Market we had earlier this year from January 30th - March 1st
You need to make these recipes listed in here
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Palia_Chef:_Luna_New_Year
The 6 recipes listed can be bought from the cash register at the inn (Reth's counter) or at Reth's bar cash register in the Underground
really?? i never noticed the icons for them, i think i'm blind. Thank you, i'll gather my experience and coins u.u
When cooking, is it necessary to do it in order? I usually finish chopping all ingredients first.
It depends on the recipe. In some cases, there will be an intermediate step (a flip or a stir) that happens when a certain amount of time has elapsed, or that is triggered by adding an ingredient. If you miss doing one of those steps, the output of the recipe is reduced. I'd say that usually it doesn't hurt to do all the chopping first, as long as you keep an eye on the stove. I can't think of a recipe that has a chopping step that must be completed after another step. (And lol, actually, with some recipes, you can actually do the "second" stir/flip first, before the one that is based on time elapsed, because the second one is triggered by adding an ingredient....)
I had the same question, though, because for certain recipes it certainly seems like you're supposed to add things in a certain order
The flipping or stirring thing I do notice so after chopping 2-3 ingredients I turn to the stove then resume chopping.
My question is mainly if affects the quality of the food.
All of these imply that the the green onion's supposed to go on last, like as a garnish XD but in my experience it doesn't actually make any difference, that I can tell...
Whereas steak dinner straight up tells you to add the baguette right to the pan before flipping... (but in reality, it's adding the herb butter that triggers the second flip, and adding the bread before or after the flip doesn't make any difference)
and I've cooked a LOT of steak dinners
I don't think they do. I cook with no quality ingredients, dump them all on the pot at the last second and I can still get quality dish.
That said, we don't have anything TRULY firm in terms of the factors that go into the star rate for foods. We know that:
- there is an unavoidable element of RNG (neither "no starred ingredients" nor "all starred ingredients" guarantees their respective outcomes). However,
- proportion of starred ingredients by weighted by unstarred sell value does seem to affect it, since using high-value starred fish can push star rates up to 95% or so, whereas using unstarred high-value fish can drag star rates down significantly, to 50% or lower depending on other factors
- time elapsed at recipe completion seems to be a factor, probably as a proportion of the total timer; it may also be "errors in minigames" BUT that's difficult to tease apart from time elapsed (and even just delays between steps seems to cause reductions in star rate, as with cake parties, where you can't really make errors in most of the minigames lol)
- and to some extent, cooking level of the participants seems to factor in also, possibly weighted by the value of each step/ingredient? but that's less clear
I am absolutely DYING to "do science" to this... but I haven't been able to figure out how to tackle it/design a study on it, because there are so many factors
Including just the fact that cooking raises the cooking levels of the participants XD so one of your variables is varying all by itself
does anyone know where i can find an abundandce of sweet leafs? im wanting to be apart of cake making tomorrow to get some funds
north side of bahari
They spawn in these locations in the northern half of Bahari Bay
ty!! ive tried to loot some but my god my luck in spawning them must be bad i only managed to get 4 going alongside thorny thicket and statue...
Try picking everything you see as you go along like the mushrooms etc to force more to spawn in, as they share the same spawn points
ooooo okay! ty i didnt know that
It also seems like there may be a mechanic where extra demand pressure on the spawn points activates new ones
So if you aren't seeing much, as Nostalgia said, pick all the morels, too, and after a couple full loops you'll probably start to see more. Also, the party buff can be really powerful! Occasional double loot AND two sets of eyes for spying sweet leaf and mushrooms :)
(And while you're out there, keep an eye out for dari cloves... from my research, they seem to spawn once every 30-40 minutes on each server, so when you see one, call it out, note the time, and keep your eyes peeled for the next)
tysm! all of this is super useful to know haha ill have to party up more often
If you need anything but can’t find it you can always try to request it
hey, so i really need to get my cooking up
any tips or tricks on how to increase cooking level fast? would anyone be down for a cooking party at some point maybe ?
Go to the palia partys website select a cooking party to ur liking
good morning, how do i get the apple pie recipe? thx ^-^
The recipe can be obtained by reaching Friendship level 3 with Delaila and completing either Fertile Ground (Quest) or Berry Blues (Quest).
It is a green book located on the countertop inside her room.
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Apple_Pie#Obtain_the_Recipe
thank you!
does anyone have a route that they do for foraging oysters?
i am trying to get einars last pebble 😭
or is it just kinda... run around and hope you see oysters instead of shells and pick them up lol 😦
https://paliaparty.app/ here!
tbh I would pick up oysters, shells, AND coral, because they share spawn points and you'll see more oysters that way :)
ooooh TIL
What are the odds of fishing up the sushi recipe? I've spent so many hours trying to get it with no luck. >.<
0% in bubbles
50% outside or something
FIFTY PERCENT oh god try 1-2%
The sushi recipe has ~2% drop chance, only outside of the fishing nodes (i.e., in plain water) in ponds, including the fishing area(s) on your home plot
Yiiiikes. Well thank you! I'll keep at it. I didn't know that about the bubbles 🫠
I’m a total boomer when it comes to this stuff. What’s a party website??
Your answer lies two messages down from the one you replied to :D
(and if that still doesn't answer your question, happy to explain further!)
Is it like to find people who want to do stuff in game with you? I’m looking at it but still confused
Yes, exactly! Mostly cooking parties, since those are more complex to organize, but PaliaParty.app supports all kinds of activities since you can choose any map and put down location markers and stuff
So is there a buff for cooking with others? I’ve received loot while mining next to people…is this similar like you get whatever the person around you is cooking?
Not exactly a buff, but if you cook together you can split up the ingredients and the work, so it makes it cheaper/easier/faster for each person
Everyone who participates in a recipe gets a copy of the food at the end
That’s awesome!
So like with Celebration Cake, there are a whopping 18 different steps, right? You COULD bring all that fruit, flour, butter, milk, sugar, sweet leaf, etc. yourself, or you could split it with 17 other people and make the whole cake recipe start to finish in, oh... 30 to 60 seconds?
repeat however many number of times and everybody gets lots of cakes to sell, just for bringing the ingredients for their one role \o/
(works great for focus food recipes, too)
This was massively helpful! I appreciate you helping me understand. Thank you!
Sure thing :)
for extra clarification: "participates" means either "completes a minigame step" or "starts the recipe"
the quality of the fish doesn't affect the fish buff does it? for sashimi or fish stew? just use any fish for the buff? and rares if it's for moneyz?
Correct, buff is the same no matter what. Use cheap fish if you're going to eat it, and use the recipe to share your fish wealth with rares :)
okie dokie! tysm
I’ve been playing for three weeks now and finally hit 3,000 trees chopped last night
… wth do u need so much wood for?
all the things? Furniture crafting? house components? SO much plant fiber and sapwood and heartwood, and that's before you even touch flow wood...
The spreadsheet this is from is rather out of date, so it is using pre-0.180 values and doesn't take into account the newest several furniture sets OR building house components like rooms, hallways, windmill, gazebo, etc, but just for an idea...
not to mention arrows for plushie hunting XD
i thought all furniture/buildings only adds up to 2k trees
I have all the ingredients for meaty stir fry but it’s not letting me cook
Dw found out u need two stoves ect
lol yup, stir fry on one burner (starter stove), need a second burner (stove) to cook the rice :)
okay something is strange.... i wanted to make Stuffed Cabbage Rolls, i have all the ingredients, all stoves etc. (2 of each), i was able to cut almost everything, only the spring onions wasn't even in the list to cut, also i wasn't able to cook the cabbage leaves...i am sure i cooked this receipe before..o.O
Oh, that's bizarre... do you happen to have a screenshot?
had a similar issue, cant cut ginger
no unfortunately not..i will try it again, maybe it happens again. it was so strange the recipe on each station was just not there
same thing happened with the spicy crab fried rice, couldnt cut cabbage or spring onion
I wonder if they were trying to fix the bugs with the LNY ingredients and something borked... 🤔 I have a pan-fried dumplings party I'm hosting later today, so I guess we'll find out! lmao
here we are again.. spring onion not in the list also the cabbage leaves..
strange, did you find a fix? or just after relog it worked again?
nope that didnt fix it, just making recipes that i know works now
Wuh oh
cant make pan fried dumplings or spicy crab fried rice
so far it seems green onion, cabbage leaves and ginger doesnt show up for chopping
Bet it applies to bok choy, too
just started getting into the cooking properly now it its broken
