According to my friend the cake party host's Q&A, 11 mixing tables, 4 prep tables, and 3 ovens. Total of 18, assuming you are going for maximum number of roles.

3 prep stations: jellied cake layer ("spreaders")

I've had this happen to me twice where before I start the recipe it says I have everything (and I check there is no red exclamation mark), and then once I start cooking something is missing(once butter, the other time vinegar) ! Muujin Bahari... The frustration I felt when it told me I had no butter..

I think that can happen when a recipe requires more than one of an item, but in two separate steps, so each step checks that you have 1 butter (or whatever), goes "yep, they've got one!" and passes you, but doesn't check that you have enough for the whole recipe

happens with spice sprouts in some other recipe as well

I think it usually happens when it's something required both in a starting step and in a prep step?

...ah. Yeah, Muujin Bahari starts with 1 butter, and then requires 1 butter in a later step.

Question for the flow trees on our lots. Does it work like the other trees where if you hit it once then you'll get the loot when chopped down. I am looking to have a flow tree party but want to make sure that I get the wood. Also would they need to be on the lot first or can I hit the trees once and then invite people over?

it works the same, you can hit the trees once and invite people over. btw you need to grant them editor permissions to chop, so i recommend a separate lot for it

Hmmm I think I found a bug! Stuffed cabbage rolls doesn't seem to be counting the sell value of the mushroom ingredient. 😂 No variation in sell value of the finished dish if you use mountain morel vs. brightshroom
edit: or the difference in value with the crab if you use crab for the chopped meat! with either Bahari Crab or Vampire Crab, yikes

Lot's of players clear a rather large area of trees because they have a chance to come back as flow trees, that's what they are referring to.
This is what we had to do before Flow Groves came into the game.

It's basically just "forcing" the game to re-roll the trees repeatedly until they come up with the desired result

They don't "reset" though, technically speaking - they spawn! The previous ones don't go away. Once two groves have spawned, though, no more will appear until the existing ones have been chopped down.

The southern half of the beach is kind of messed up RN so some of the spawn points are obscured by the terrain

The chance of a dish turning out starred depends on multiple factors, and proportion of starred ingredients is only one of them. There is no way to guarantee starred or not. (The others seem to be, at minimum, time to completion and cooking skill level of participants; some say also accuracy, but imo that's hard to tease apart from total time)

When you use a station to start a recipe, it can only be used to add ingredients or cook the dish. The intermediate things have to be prepped somewhere else.

Like if you've got a pot of soup on the stove, and it calls for rice as an ingredient, you can't use the same stove burner to cook the rice, because it's occupied.

Prep stations are a span of counter space, so, same idea: if you are assembling a dessert on one bit of counter space, you can't also use that for mashing up blueberries or whatever

...now. Why you mash up blueberries on a cutting board with a rolling pin is a different question entirely.

In general, my personal preference is to use foods that give between a third and a half of my max focus, because that way I don't have to wait to top up when I notice I'm getting low.

When I was at about that level, I used the fish stew recipe, because it requires zero garden ingredients (so you're not eating your gold-making potential) — BUT you have to fish for the recipe (worms, Bahari Coast, might take you a while), and then catch fish for the soup itself (use the cheap ones caught with no bait! I would fish in my home pond for them.)

If that sounds like a pain/if you hate fishing/until you manage to fish up the recipe, then the next-best 100/150 food is imo Palian Onion Soup, which is from a found item quest around the lagoon/lake docks area in Kilima. But this requires you to grow onions specifically to cook with, meaning you can't use those tiles for for-profit crops.

Both soups are very easy to cook solo while you get used to cooking (1 chop, 1 stir) but can also be cooked in groups of up to 3 if you want to split the costs and share the wealth :)

I actually still make fish stew all the time because I really like the fishing buff from it xD

The fish stew makes the fishing safe zone reticle (the parentheses lookin' thing) move faster, so it's easier to keep it centered around the bobber when you're dealing with a fish that likes to jump around

Personally i would just cook with others and divide the workload, when cooking with others I do chili oil dumplings , rice cake stir fry, or spicy stir fry. Prefer chili oil dumplings tho. If you’re not comfortable cooking with others than I would go for the steak dinner as well

Really the only money you put into it is the butter, since you can grow the wheat over and over with a farm and seed collector

The opportunity cost of the wheat also has to be taken into account, however, as if you eat the wheat, you cannot also sell it (as seeds or as anything else) - and arguably the cost of including it in your layout at all instead of some other crop (though imo harvest boosters probably pay for themselves in most cases)

but that is all splitting hairs, and there is no wrong way to do things as long as it is letting you do what you want to do \o/

It is also possible to "farm" (force-spawn) flow trees by chopping down trees in an area; helps to use a dowsing rod to find the resulting flow trees. If you chop down only the sizes of tree that you could chop solo if they came back as a flow tree, you don't even need to call anybody from the server if you don't want (but also risk people finding them and just chopping them ofc; goes both ways)

Yup, pretty much! I noticed very early on that when people were running around in Mirror Fields gathering spice sprouts, more firebreathing dragonflies tended to pop up... I assumed it had to do with the spice sprouts themselves, but nope, turns out just running around spooking the stinkbugs and leafhoppers opens up the spawn table more frequently, so you get more rare spawns XD

It took me a looong time to get used to the chopping minigames. If in the future you'd like a recipe that gives you lots of time to practice, pan fried dumplings gives you a whole 3 minutes to chop 4 things, mix once, and flip to finish. The main thing I had to learn was to trust my eyes and not my sense of rhythm. Also, there's no penalty for letting a bar go past the chop indicator without chopping; you can wait for the next one. (but I usually ended up chopping too early because my internal rhythm would speed up due to nerves XD)

In the meanwhile, absolutely valid to hand off the chopping to others :)

Just make sure to read descriptions sometimes people do things a little different. Most people are pretty friendly and are willing to teach beginners so don’t worry too much

small (50) cake parties is where I started. For ingredients, you can do oven (no ingredients needed) or sweet leaf which you find plenty of in Bahari. Just remember to pack plenty of focus food 🙂 Once you've done your first one, sell the cakes and buy milk, flour, eggs from Zeki to join the next one and contribute a bit more.

if i'm understanding you right, you need to go to a different station and do a step on that station before you can continue with other steps. for example if you need ground sweetleaf for the next step, you have to go make it at the mixing station. look up the recipes you're having trouble with on the wiki because there's usually a guide for the best order to do the steps in. e.g. https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Cream_of_Tomato_Soup

If you mention you're new to parties, someone will usually give you a non-ingredient roles (manning the oven or spreading jam). I've seen lots of newbie-friendly parties so don't feel discouraged ☺️ Sweetleaf would probably be the easiest item to contribute if you want to, you can easily find it foraging around Bahari. The "not for beginners" parties are because they expect people to do multiple roles/have lots of ingredients handy.

Hello bakers! I have a question to ask for those in cake parties. I want to know if what our party experienced just now was an us thing or is happening at other cake parties as well. We were only using apples but sometimes blueberries were somehow being used instead. The people responsible for fruit frosting swore they were only choosing apples, but blueberries sometimes appeared.

You have to be close to a plant that it can find. It doesn't do the whole map at once. There are no rare plants in Kilima unless there are flow trees. If you use a dowsing rod and nothing shows up, run around and you will probably find something - mostly heat roots but sometimes heartdrop lillies or dari cloves.

I remember experimenting to create a mini grove (there s 1 ft in it), i was chopping in the south continuously and read other players finding more spawning fts in the north, and til the sun goes down my 1 ft didnt multiple xD

yeah the RNG on flow spawns can be weird... a few weeks ago people on my server were complaining that someone chopped the grove without calling it out, so i spent 30 mins chopping at the outskirts and got about 8-10 trees to spawn. other times i chop that long and maybe get 1 or 2 trees.

I believe this is because the sell prices of foraging items changed including sweet leaf which is included in the recipe for celebration cake. New cakes made will have a higher sell price because sweet leaf have a higher sell prices, but it cannot be adjusted retroactively for old cakes 🙂

you can't grant access to storage! you can grant access to give other players "editor" and they can pick up already placed items on your plot and move them around, but they cannot bring out any furniture from their inventory and they cannot access yours

I guess only way to made it profitable is a cake party. Do it alone give you "-111 coins" (minus! And yes, I was calc it ^_^). Sell raw ingredients give you more money, and if count refined version of ingredients it even less profitable. Guess that is the way of the game - do not stay alone, but play with friends.

I guess only parties is a "Cake Parties". I used to cook Veggy Soup in solo. Very simple and most profitable in focus gain. Just Tomatoes, shroom and spice.

and I do not use Focus for forage, so gathering shrooms and spice for a veggy soup do not make it unprofitable

raw like blueberry, apple, etc. From Party it is not important. About getting more money from them I don't know, but think it is useless - better use crafting stations for refine other crops - making jam/pick or make more seeds, plus crafting resources also need time and stations.

i get the feeling that this isn't the most common problem because you have to not only be an advanced player to have grown many flow trees on home, but it's also a newer feature that wasn't added until the Vault of the Roots update which I think was only about a couple months ago

If you complete ||Vault of the Roots, you'll get a statue reward that you can place on your plot and that statue will give you a random tree seed every real life day. Those seeds have a chance of being flow tree seeds so when they're planted they can be watered to fully grown flow trees.|| You can also collect seeds from the trees once they are fully grown and seeds from flow trees will also be flow tree seeds so it eventually adds up over time

in cooking sim, it will be great, but this game for coop activities and, as I understand, preparing stuff beforehand will not be in devs todo list. Almost all food is not profitable at all if you cook it by yourself, at least those ten~ish recipes that I learned.

at least they has profit with "-" at low skill lvl in solo. Maybe if 50lvl of cooking wil give starred food from normal ingr, then it will be profitable in solo

If you cook for focus better try to figure out about "Cake Party". I was never participate, but it must be extremely profitable in coins and focus. If you cook for coins, start stockpile ingr and unlock "Preserving Jar", I unlock it few days ago and it is good way to passive income and less effectife focus food

The maji market is a month long in game event that happens twice a year so far! the first Maji Market (The Summer Maji Market) happened from late august through september of last year! the second Maji Market (The Luna New Year Maji Market) happened at the end of january through february! at these events there's limited time furniture, games, food, and recipes! they have said that all the items from these will eventually return and there's more info on the wiki https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Maji_Market
