started dishes are RNG based, so they're never guaranteed regardless! star quality, cooking time, and accuracy during the mini games all increase your chances though! you could also cook together with someone who may have star quality meat to try and get it that way!

For new switch players who are still learning the map it's a pain to call out ft as you'll have to go to the map menu found out where you are, type out the instruction, forget about where it is in relation to direction, retype it again... by the time you finish it's 4am! So yeah it's a pain and easier to just flare

To keep your focus full, you need to eat. Which means before you join a group to cook, you need to cook. It's a viscous circle meant to keep you in the kitchen.

This is just anecdotal but i stopped having problems with freezing (mostly) when i stopped making inputs before the minigame fully loads. Like for example you can start mixing as soon as you have to bowl, but it takes a second for the UI element to pop up.

Is there any way (or future plans) for using star-quality crops in basic cooking? After level 25 gardening it becomes impossible to grow regular crops - which is nice on the surface, except that now if I want to cook anything, I also need star quality spices, mushrooms, and other foraging items which are considerably less abundant and do not yield a profit when cooking.

Yes when you start a recipe there should be an option to use star quality ingredients. Not all of your ingredients have to be star quality- it will use regular if you don’t have any

If it's about getting stuck when at the oven that is a common issue we usually solve by
Switch: left stick press in to open home menu then do it again to close it
PC: The same thing but it's the H key twice

If this doesn't work try to see if you can type /unstuck in the chat

Don't know if this has been brought up previously, but every time I try and make a blueberry pie, I have issues. First time I couldn't move and the second time and couldn't chop. I had to "Esc" out of the game. Has anyone else has this issue? I just want to know I'm not alone 😅 🥺

Yes, the oven may be bugging, you can try opening and closing housing menu (but it is now bugged, so it may not help). Just type
/unstuck like this and send it in the chat and it should help. When u can’t chop try pressing F/or I think A on switch and tge chopping might stop, if it does press F/A again to continue, if not send
/unstuck again

It's definitely a glitch that hasn't been addressed yet. I had this happening a lot when I was trying to make the oysters akwinduu recipe. Apparently you can open up the menu that shows you your whole plot to unstick yourself.

It's a rare spawn (once a day) on hill tops in Bahari Bay. A dowsing rod can help you find it. You can get the recipe for that from from the Foraging Guild Store. You can also buy that item or the Heartdrop Lilly there as well for Foraging Medals, but I'm not sure if it will trigger the achievment if you buy the Lilly.

For sure there are better uses for the medals. It's just better to buy the recipe for the dowsing rod with in game gold and make them to search for the Lilly. Then you can make them any time you need to find cooking ingredients that are rare.

The quest is possible to be done solo though. It’s still rng if the dish will be starred or not, it’s never guaranteed. I did mine alone and was lucky enough to get everything starred from the first try. You can also try to start the recipe one time to see what needs to be done and where, so u are more ready

And then when I left, he’d whisper me asking why I left. This went on for most of two RL days. I blocked him. If you want something while I’m on my plot, say so.

If you get your foraging up above ten, you can guy them both from Ashura. In the mean time, there is a plateau in Pulsewater where I know a Heartdrop spawns relatively often

I suffer from anxiety too. For me almost nothing stresses/triggers anxiety on Palia.. but the time limit on dishes does give me anxiety and i had a lot of trouble completing that quest too.
Especially the timed chopping under pressure gets to me. Not as bad that i had to quit doing it, but cooking timers deffo stress me

I hated it first - but I found that instead of trying too hit everyone - I did every other one , and I found that when I do certain foods , if I've chopped 2 items I know its time too stir / or flip I keep the stove too the side so I can see it , the more ingredients the more time it takes start with simple ones like soup , 1 item too chop and 1 stir don't stress over it you will get there 🙂

The stuff from Preserve Jars has been good for me. Let them fill up completely, usually take a few days. Gets you between 15 and 20k

it's always depended on the server. some people get impatient, but I always do my best to call out for stragglers

Most of the groves I've been in chop at 3 because it's a pretty good amount of time for people to get to the grove, even if they're a bit late.

It isn't uncommon for groves to extend past that for people running a lil late or are lost. I've seen them go much later. But they have to call out they're still otw otherwise it gets chopped.

I think it was put in place just to be respectful of everyones time.

Just logged back in, didn't get stuck on any workstation (though so far it's only happened on the oven and the mixing table for me) but then, it doesn't happen every time. Seems random. Which indicates to me, it is server dependent. One server, everything is fine. I go out of home plot, come back, go to cook and get stuck.

And I just realized, not that it matters, that I can put a plate of cabbage rolls onto one of the new dinner plates. Why one would want to, is a moot point. Just that it was interesting. Also single plates or dishes can be stacked if one desires, smallest onto med onto bigger plates, as singles. or bunches of.

The mixing station is the only one you could really get away with having one of for a while. There's a few recipes that need you to have two, but tbh it's not enough to warrant me keeping two out all the time. My preferred focus food only requires 1 stove/1 mixing/1 prep station, so my kitchen is pretty small, only having one of each station.

well, I took the picture most likely between 3 and 6am, while waiting for the next harvest. That is where and when I care for gardening, cooking and decorating. I removed all the standard ceiling lamps in all of my houses, because those emit much too harsh light casting ugly shadows on the avatar's face.

Another reasons to remove those lamps is a bug, which is moving all the standard ceiling lamps from alternative housing plots to the default one.

Could well be that I took the picture in one of the alternative houses, I have 3 houses with the same room layout.

Unless you eat when you're bar is completely empty, the math is irrelevant XD. Because different activities consume different amount of focus, so you will rarely get 750 focus so you can neatly top it off with 1 food item.

I’m not sure it ever worked with adding ingredients and getting the food, but it 100% does not now, you can only mix e.g without adding ingredient and it will count as taking part, but only adding ingridients does not count

Is it possible for me to cook with a mix of star quality and non-star quality ingredients? I tried to make Mushroom Dumpling Soup and it said I didn't have the onion, carrot, or bok choy (though the bok choy is showing up as a blank square that says carrot when I hover over it?) and I thought "Hey, I know I have those as star quality ingredients...what if I just put them in my inventory?" So I grabbed them, started the recipe, and the first step was chop carrots. I cannot force it to use my star carrot. Why not? Let me use what I have!

In order to do that u need to click on “use starred ingredients” before starting the recipe

U can still use the non starred for the things u don’t have starred

Just tried it and it wouldn't let me use my non-star quality sernuk meat. Maybe I've got something broken in my kitchen appliances. Used my last star quality spring onion and ginger and it didn't net me star quality soup either.

Or even worse...based on what I'm seeing now it'll definitely let you use them. But only if star quality ingredients aren't available. I want to choose the quality myself, not be bound to use up my star quality stuff first.

Yes, it only will let u use non starred ingredients if there are no starred or if they are hidden in a lockbox

If u don’t want to use some of your starred ingredients, hide them in a lockbox

I've just froze twice back to back whilst cooking. First time it wouldn't let me chop carrots so had to force close the game and then the second time my character wouldn't move after chopping carrots. Never had problems cooking before. if more than 1x of an ingredient is needed, they all need to be the same rarity. 3x starred OR 3x unstarred. you can put the 1 or 2 leftovers you have in secure storage so you can click to do the recipe

It's definitely going to be an issue when cooking solo. For cooking in a team, you can warn that you can only do stirring but not chopping or flipping (I assume flipping is an issue too). That would still let you help for a lot of recipes
