i kinda feel bad for hodari not being able to figure out how to make hot hounds taste right. paprika no longer exists

that being said, i can confirm that every dish can be done solo as long as you have the heart of soma yukihira. it's probably a bit harder now because for some reason each cooking minigame now has a three second delay appearing onscreen

you can actually start stirring even before it appears, but all of the other prompts have to load in after the delay

i'm not sure if it was an intentional nerf to cooking, but it seems counterintuitive to slow it down further

Best way to find out what cooking station and what items a recipe needs is...trying 1 out for yourself and writing it down. That's what I did and I immediately knew the steps and stations needed etc

Anyone got an idea for good solo cooked focus food. I'm looking for something that gives decent focus but also is not too complicated to cook and ideally uses friendly ingredients (meaning crop, meat, fish, forage but does not require monitoring purchased ingredients)? I do use preservers for focus but occasionally I run low and I hope to easily supplement with cooking.

I cook cream of tomato soup (starred version will give you 412 focus), you need to buy only milk for it, and collect spice sprouts which are pretty close to home (or also you can buy them). I cook like 10 at once, so it's for 15 refillings (eat 2 to have 824 focus).

Meaty stir fry is my go-to when I'm solo but I've found it easy enough to get some folks to help make a few batches of chili oil dumplings so I can go mine for 10,000 years with a stack of 30.

I'd recommend Sernuk Noodle Stew for your situation. It's probably the easiest recipe with no purchase requirements and decent focus. Sernuk meat, spice sprouts, along with wheat, carrot, and onion. 225 focus, or 337⭐
Bouillabaisse is the highest focus food with no purchase requirements, but the ingredients are a bit more work and the recipe is more complex. Any bass fish, oyster meat, and spice sprouts along with wheat, potato, and onion. 350 focus or 525⭐ I recommend largemouth bass and smallmouth bass over bahari bass or black sea bass. All four types of bass are common. You can fish up bahari bass or black sea bass while gathering oysters, but they take different kinds of bait and are worth different amounts, so their cooked items won't stack. The largemouth and smallmouth bass are both fishable from Kilima Lake with the same bait any time of day, so you get a better yield of bass vs other fish. Large- and smallmouth bass are worth the same amount of gold, so their cooked recipes will stack. I don't make this recipe regularly, but the Maji Market event location produced Kilima Lake fish, and I ended up with a ton of bass from fishing while waiting for the Chappa Chase to start.

I believe you just have to left-click and hold to stir. You don't need to move your cursor around. I remember doing that too in the beginning until I realized you don't need to move the camera around to stir.

But, if you aren't exactly interested in trying cakes, you can go for other parties with different recipes too 😄 cooking is honestly one of the most profitable skill in game atm

For profit wise in cooking, best to have 2-3 ppl cooking together (then i think many recipes will be worth) or go into parties and get max profit

I know this is super delayed BUT if cooking for profit you'll want to choose the higher worth veggies when cooking. Carrots are always at the top of the list in the cooking UI but significantly drop the value of the final product. Instead cook with potatoes or another high value veggie and the end product will be worth more

I don't think the focus value changes though so if cooking solo for food to eat then use the carrots, it makes no difference that I've seen. Happy cooking! 😊

Silly question perhaps as a rather newbie to the game, but you are able to mix starred and non-starred ingredients while cooking? If I remember right I can only choose unstarred vegetables, mushrooms, meat and stuff unless I click on the checkbox for starred dish, but then I'm only able to choose starred ingredients 🤔

When you tick the ⭐ quality box to cook, the game will detect all your ⭐ quality ingredients u have first to use always. But, when u don't have that specific ingredient that is ⭐ quality, you can still use non star ones to finish making the recipe

For Chili Oil Dumplings there are seven roles. Starter (stove), Rice (stove), Any vegetable (Prep Station), Any meat (Prep Station), Dough roller (Prep Station), Spicy Pepper chopper (Prep Station), Chili Oil mixer (Mix Station). This one is tricky because there are four Prep Station jobs, and the two that are prioritized by the UI are any veg adn any meat. That makes it virtually impossible for your Spicy Pepper person to lockbox all the possible ingredients, and they just have to wait for the others to be done on a typical keyboard setup.

Yes, Chili Oil Dumplings are still the most common focus food, but there are a lot of recipes with similar costs and focus point results, Apple pie isn't that far off, actually. I'll also use Shepp's Pie, as focus food. Bouillabase from the cheaper bass works well for focus also.

Currently, with each person doing one thing, I believe the number of people in a cake party is 18. 3 Ovens, 11 Mixing Stations, 4 Prep Tables. If anyone knows better than myself, please hop in and correct me! 💗
You can make a cake alone if you want to, but it isn't particularly cost effective.
As far as other recipes go, I would have a bare minimum of 2 stoves.

Just the area close to the Bahari Central Stables. The mushrooms and sweet leaf spawn from the same nodes, so pick both and you will usually see sweet leaf spawn from the mushroom nodes. I usually do this route, with some wandering where I see some sweet leaf. I hunt sernuk while I do it, and usually by the time I'm back at Bahari Central Stables I get a re-spawn.

Hey, cooking folks--I'm trying to work on an Accessible layout for stations in Cooking Parties; has anyone determined how far apart you can place your stations while keeping them connected in the same active recipe?

(Reasoning for this is in part to reduce visual stimuli but in large part to try to reduce the volume of people prepping/chopping/etc. next to you so your own audio-cues are most prominent.)

Never kept track of how many of each I return home with after running that circuit for around 2 hours at a time. I can tell you that after 4 or 5 of those 2 hour runs I had so many mushrooms I was able to keep 100 in storage and have 3 full stacks of grilled mushrooms and almost a full stack of starred ones Along with almost 200 sweet leaf, after cooking cake 10 times (so using 40 sweet leaf).

TLDR: If done right, that is the BEST sweet leaf circuit!

I covered part of the 'chopping board' with my hand and it was much easier when I saw only one bar incoming at a time, now I'm used to it and don't have to do this anymore 😅 Focus your eyes at the end, in place where you have to click.

have you joined a cake party before? it's not much different, things work pretty much the same but it's quicker and personally i find it easier. just remember to lock the ingredients you're not using (bc of the damn jumpy ui sjsjsj) and that's it! but i promise you people won't get mad if you make a mistake, there's some really kind hosts out here throwing apple pie parties 😊✨

ahhhhhh okay! so you basically sign up for an specific role (and you can check the available ones in the thread, the host with share it there). like, in apple pie parties we have people who start the recipe and they need to bring butter. there's also people who chop apples, or chop spice sprouts, etc. there's going to be specified there exactly how much of the ingredient you need to bring with you for the role you choose. you go to the host's plot and stand in the station appropriate for you role. for apple pie there's prep station (apple, spice sprouts and wheat), mixing station (sweet leaf and for mixing the filling) and the oven (for the starter who initiates and finishes the recipe). you just need to do your task once per recipe and you'll get 3x dishes per batch!

yess, as anna said! generally, there's one person per role tho. but it really depends on the host. with apple pies is better if two or more people share the apple role. so if we're making 50x recipes, you'll need 50 of everything else but apples, bc in this case will be needed 150x (since you need 3 for recipe). so it's better to share so it's not unfair for the one bringing it.

The pie recipes have visual bug. The actual ingredients to make pies didn't change. Apple, blueberry and crab pot pies all have corn and salt as ingredients and seem to require making 2x basic dough and 2x cornmeal. You do not. Make pies as normal and everything works. Just ignore the 2x cornmeal and the extra basic dough.

the dough for the oven ingredient is variable, it accepts Basic Dough (1 Wheat) or Rolled Dough (2 Wheat, 2 Corn). I just baked both versions with a friend and these were the results:

if preserves work for you, it's fine to eat preserves. It's passive cooking and you have free time to do something else you enjoy. In my experience, star quality depends mostly on quality of ingredients.

when you open stove (or oven or another station), you can see "spoons" on top. try recipes from "one spoon" category at first, they require less steps and usually are just stirring the pot.

Rolled Dough is very much not a "visual error", I think we need clarification. Because the Prep Table UI shows unavailable ingredients like Ginger, Cabbage, Green Onion, and Bok Choy which makes more sense for the context of that note

Yes, you can make another way called Rolled dough and youll get higher money from the same recipe. Still, the developers ald told in the forum NOT to do it and to go follow prior patch recipes. If you still think you can do it, then you are taking a risk here

it feels intentional to me, but it's also confusing and unintuitive. My friend somehow failed the Rolled Dough step by starting it with inadequate ingredients. It's also really easy for the person on the oven to accidentally add the Basic Dough before it's been turned into Rolled Dough, which results in a basic pie and wasted ingredients

Just for fun, I did the rolled dough version of the blueberry pie solo and it worked. I also tried to just use cornmeal... I really wanted to make a blueberry taco. That didn't work. You have to at least do the basic dough for the pie to bake. btw.. you only have to roll out one basic dough and one cornmeal to make the rolled dough.

Someone suggested just grilling meat, fish, and mushrooms. I always do that before selling my excess, but what I'm asking is which recipes I can utilize my kitchen for without feeling the pain. Stumbled across the macaron quest and recipe tonight, bought the ingredients, and realized it would cost me money to make instead of earning money.

To be honest non of the recipe are worth it after the cake nerf. Cooking is now officially a group activity. Solo is really limited to grilling food and making fishing brew. Even for grilling, if you use star ingredient, you gain nothing except cooking exp. Unless, if you just need the achievement of cooking all food, you can always look for group at #1143270926394335282 .

Fisherman's Brew isn't worthwhile for profit anymore, they reduced the value to 7g normal, 10g starred (from 19g/28g). Getting normal brews is a net loss. Dishes which accept Vampire Crab (Crab Gumbo, Hot Hounds) can be 40% profit solo but yeah most cooking values were adjusted for focus instead of profit.

I was wrong about the Vampire Crab profit margin, I went back and checked my notes and I had calculated it using non-star crabs with star dish output. Starred Hot Hounds using star Vampire Crab is only 10% solo profit, starred Crab Gumbo with the same is 8.6% profit.

i need clarification: Dari cloves, is it better to pick then call or call then pick. On some servers people say don't pick but on the server I am on i called one and said i don't want it but would flare it and was told to pick it or it would despawn. Which is correct?

They will despawn naturally anyway, but I believe you want to call then pick as the wiki claims You have a 5-minute window from the first pick before it disappears.

But I guess depending, that might keep it around past the natural despawn, and long enough to let people arrive, so I could see why "pick then call" would make more sense. All just conjecture though on my part.

There is a sound the dari clove makes that you may be able to use to tell if it has been picked or not. This type of sound is most obvious with the sweet leaf and morel. For the dari, its sounds like a quiet pulsing swoosh, a bit like waves hitting a distant shore. I've only once seen a foragable despawn while making its "unpicked" sound, and it was exactly at 6am, in game time.

Some recipes require multiple of the same cooking station. Sushi specifically needs TWO prep stations. I'd recommend having 2 preps, 2 mixing, and 2 stoves to not run into this issue.

For foraging items, there are general areas for certain ones, like Brightshrooms only spawn next to ruins, and Heartdrop Lillies spawn on cliffs. As for spawns, your best bet is to use a Dowsing Rod and check the general spawn locations. It's not a hard and fast science.

I did some testing and found out, that the rare foraging resources respawn in waves - I don't have an exact timer though
for Dari Cloves and Heartdrop Lilys it was but complicated to test it
sometimes I used several Dowsing Rods in a row and couldn't find any and sometimes I found multiple Dari Cloves (2-3) in the buff time of two Dowsing Rods

although Dowsing Rods are bugged right now since they don't show you starred foraging resources on the radar

the best way to effectively farm Dari Cloves is to run circles in Bahari Bay (north) and pick up every Sweet Leaf and Mountain Morel you come across since Dari Cloves share the spawn points with them
Heartdrop Lilys have their unique spawn points

The best way for me to get everything done in the time amount for food in this game is to cook with a friend or two. We cook about 10-15 times and each pick the recipe we want so everyone is happy. We get it all done and all have the meals. Usually everything is starred and we are all happy. If you don't know anyone to cook with you can just ask in chat if anyone wants to cook a few meals. I usally get 1-3 takers and it has started some great friendships in this game!

Chopped all vegetables first.

Cooked everything at the stove.
Made dough and grinded corn.
Made all the breads.

i've identified the key thing with this dish: you gotta have starred muujin meat. the weight it has regarding the whole thing getting starred is way higher due to it being most of the components of the final dish

everything else can be garbage, but the meat being starred will push the ratio in your favor

thankfully this is also probably the easiest thing to get starred as long as you're willing to murder every single badger dog you see

I killed a few of the magic ones and got the fur from it but no star fur from it yet.

and it helps that the meal their meat is used for is very, very good.

I somehow got all 3 starred fur. I carry 100's of arrows (dispel, slowdown and fine). So I start shooting like crazy. I have to remember to switch from flare 🤣 I confused people by spamming them.

My only issue with hunting now is I loved having my bow on the middle slot because I could easily switch to it for a quick shot. Now it feels clunky going from axe to bow on the scroll wheel.

you don't have to. I have my kitchen decorated the way I want, then have a separate area for serious cooking with all the stations organized for best use. You could use another plot just for cooking, I've seen that done.

Hi, host of a Muujin Bahari party here. On the one hand, it is definitely the most gold per item. On the other hand it is more complicated than cake. We need to do some experimenting to figure out how to manage the roles to make it quickly. My event went for 50 minutes and we made 30 batches for 22k in gold. So far the pies (apple or vamp crab pot pie) are better in terms of gold per minute.

I would reccomend doing it with another person, It also depends on how long it takes such as stiring and frying as well asd wether you fail or not when chopping

It's used in the special Muujin Bahari dish that you learn how to make as part of the party-planning quest for Subira. recipe is super complicated tho, notsomething you are going to cook casually.

You know what would be cool? If the character didn't spend like 84 years sniffing at the food, she has made multiple times before, every single time, before I'm allowed to actually collect it. Especially compared to when it goes to Star quality and you get to grab it almost immediately after the jump XD
Although with the mini-game already seeming to be random in whether you get higher quality based on time spent or not, I'd rather not have more of my time wasted. Would be nice to shorten then 'completion' animation, unless it's the very first time cooking something. And start the mini-games when playing alone quicker

What if all my tomatoes are star quality? Can I just start the recipe with a star quality tomato and use normal ingredients for the rest?

as long as you don't have any other star quality ingredients yeah

in order to use any kind of star quality ingredient, you have to enable the star toggle

it doesn't matter if your other ingredients aren't starred

but if there are any starred ingredients you do not want to go in, you will have to put them in the lockbox
