the best strat is actually in dedicated rtb partys because they do it very specific with scouts and nobody is catching the og rtb so u get alot of rtbs from lures , they also set up 3 lures close to each other and because theyre like 20 ppl for the 3 lures they can catch the common fast

i personally just used a buttload of lures , bombs and time to get my rtbs which i need while playing as a duo

id say never just only hunt for 1 specific plush hunt like 2 to 3 different creatures/bugs at the same time , also hunt for these who who have most fun killing/catching and of course know the location where they spawn most commonly and on top of that a group of 4 would be best because u waste way less arrows and durability so u can hunt longer

as i said i enjoy wavebacks the most so i hunt then daily and i get atleast 2 of them daily while also having a chance for shmoles and frogs on top

Some people don't know but rare bugs and animals spawn with the growth. Great place to get rtb and other rare bugs.

People run up too quick to put a chop on a tree and that will scare the bug away

It should be spawn with the Grove

I feel like the frog parties are still fun without the exploit. Like, yeah, the numbers don't go up as fast or whatever, but I also don't need to bring three stacks of focus food. The frog-chasing and camaraderie are the same, just at a more sensible scale.

And there's more excitement to a rare one showing up. It's more dynamic. I'm glad a nice balance was struck.

Well, while buzzy jars and lures are optional, hunting RTB without either is going to be incredibly painful unless joining a RTB party

But if you just want a unstarred RTB for bundles, buzzy jar before 3am and chase the rare bugs you see
You'll want 2-3 buzzy jars for the day (I stopped after the 2nd as didn't want to waste half of one) if using this method
I liked lures though
Lure (+ optionally Buzzy Jar to see if rares spawn - helpful as RTB is easy to spook and very quick to disappear). Catch butterflies, scare off everything else. Works best in groups

RTB parties are definitely the optimal way to find it though

There's not really a route
If you follow a set route, you won't find it
It can spawn pretty much anywhere in the South half of Bahari (just not the Eastern tips where the beaches are) - look at the interactive maps if you a better visual understanding of the spawn area
As above, you have 2 options. Buzzy Jar and chase the rares (for best results, catch blue butterflies while doing it and scare off other bugs) or Lures - sit in one place, but catching all butterflies and scaring off other bugs becomes pretty much mandatory so you lure more bugs and get higher chances of a RTB spawning
Neither method is guaranteed a RTB

Ogopuus aren't too difficult to solo, just use jumping and gliding as a way to stop them from getting spooked till you're close to them, cuz most of them won't get spooked till you're close and at that point no matter how much they run you are unlikely to miss out on them, unless another Ogopuu is close by and makes your arrow curve >:c

Try this: Load up on your favorite bug bombs and one supreme smoke bomb, as well as a buzzy jar. According to wiki, the RTB spawns at 3am in Pulsewater Plains. I'd get there early, around 2-2:30am, and knock out as many of the common bugs as you can. This should help free up space to increase the likelihood that the RTB will spawn. Then at 3am, use your buzzy jar to locate any RTBs that may have spawned. This worked for me!

Do you have bag of illusion? If you get it and upgrade it to Max level, you don't need EW specific arrows or smoke bombs, the sneaky smoke bombs and fine arrows will work on them just fine.

I think it's a bit of luck and bit of where you put it. There's never a lot of frogs, but they are the one kind, so that's why it's a good place.

You gotta run around and scare away the beetles constantly and hope for the frogs 🙂

Uh. Pretty much in the middle? On top of the "small" ledge. And cut away the trees before. They really get in the way.

Lures alone don't do much. There was a good guide on reddit that I think still works. But, click a buzzy jar at 3 am and start to run around the area. Don't bother to climb high (unless the jar shows only bugs up high), it could be there but mostly not. Take out any spitfire cicadas you find. And I take down the starred common butterflies. Every butterfly down helps, but there's just too much. Ignore everyone of those damn blue hoppers.

I've found that there's usually a starred common butterfly in the rtb spawn areas, and taking them down I've at best had a run in with 4 rtbs in one run.

I have the Master Kilima/Bahari bug collector accomplishment, and I never caught the starred Jewelwing. I was surprised when I looked through to see what I needed and saw that it was counted, but it was definitely there.

When using the lures, were you catching the blue butterflies and scaring off everything else? This gives the maximum chance for a RTB to spawn, but sadly even then it's not guaranteed. And 10 lures with none is bad RNG
Did you have a Buzzy Jar active to see if rares were spawning?
RTB spooks very easily, and disappears quicker when spooked than any other bug from my experience, you only have a few seconds once it has noticed you to hit it with your first bomb, so I find Buzzy Jar very useful here

I think the just run around with Buzzy Jar method is probably better if solo though
At least, as long as there isn't a lot of competition for it on the server

You only really have a few options

1. Run around with Buzzy Jar scaring off everything to give greater chances for it to spawn
2. Lures. Also helpful to have Buzzy Jar active so you notice when one spawns and don't accidentally scare it off. When luring, it is mandatory to catch the blue butterflies as they block other spawns otherwise. Catch/scare off everything else. Lures do work better in groups as more catching/scaring potential to allow more spawns
3. Buzzy Jar, check out the hollow, server hop to a different server and repeat

I had way more trouble with starred Duskwing than Mantis persaonlly, but everyone gets cursed by RNG in different ways

my advice for solo hunting ogos is always going as close as possible to them before u start shooting then even wavebacks shouldnt be an issue. and of course using fine arrows

Mirror Fields in Kilima for Firebreathing can be done any time, also decent
Azure Stonehoppers are fairly common in south Bahari, and there's a chance at a RTB spawning

For max silk, catch butterflies as they don't spook so block further spawns and spook everything else that you don't want to catch

To add to this, chopping trees is definitely the best method, but it can be any Sapwood tree, not just Juniper (which is the orange leaf tree). So chop down every medium/large non-heartwood tree essentially

My personal preference is North Bahari though, as there are more trees

The biggest thing about catching rtb when using honey lures is you need to catch only butterflies and try to scare off the rest of the insects

Seen 4 starred ones, caught 3. Only ever seen 1 star fairy mantis and that sucker spawns all day. Been running around like a madman trying to find another one. Probs used 50-60 buzzy jars just for that one.

I kept finding my starred fairymantis when just doing other things since it spawn always unlike rtb which spawn spots get filled with bluebutterflys so unles ur in a rush id recommend comping the rest of bahary first

Easy rare bugs for silk thread imo:

1. Go around Bahari breaking mining nodes for centipedes
2. Bahari Flooded Fortress at night for Vampire Crabs/Stripeshell Snails
3. Do (or join someone doing) lures, anywhere

Oh, option 4, buzzy jar in Kilima or Bahari and chase the rare bug pings on your compass

But you need silk to make it (you will almost certainly get more than you use however)

If you do try for Rainbow Tipped, good luck. It's got low spawn rates, so very RNG dependent

catch chance is higher with better belts and lower with hgiher rarity/starred bugs
so it s abit random at times

It's all rng. Sometimes you'll catch a bug 1st try and sometimes it'll take 8 bombs for the same. Odds get better the higher level your belt is but you can still get unlucky and need a bunch of bombs

F9 as well. A4 brings a lot of beetles and a handful of Flametongues. F9 gives rockhoppers and Will o Wisps
