During the groves, I typically see the configurations that spawn with the Lantern Bugs (LBs, Fairy Moths, Stinkbugs, Garden Snails, Hairy Millipedes, and the rare Amber Beetle spawn) the most. Last time I was at a grove, it was mostly Brushtail Dragonflies.

You might just be insanely lucky, cause I also haven't got any stag beetle, lady bug or fairy moth plushies. I somehiw got 1 paper lantern plush after about 30 catch but then none in over 100 catches. Drop rate is way too low for plushies, they all need to be higher honestly, especially the beetle and ladybug since you can't use lures for those

I agree. I watched my spouse get their first plushie (A regular Sernuk) within a few days of playing. It took me forever to get mine. I swear, I went through at least 500 Fine arrows. (I know I missed a few times, but most of those were hits. X_x)

Yeah, I somehow got 2 sernuk plushies in my 1st week cause I was hunting like mad for gold, so I attribute those to beginner's luck lol. I've hunted a ton since and no plushie. If you're playing on low settings it's possible that you can only see the sparkling light effect if you're veeeeeeery close to it. With my old PC I only knew it is SQ because of the sound. (Same with Firworks btw they look ridiculous with low settings)

the jar has a 200m radius, after a few times you'll figure out how much you need to walk towards the mines to check if it's there or not

there is a chance a bugged lootdrop contains a plushie, but it's not possible that it's caused by plushies because the normal muujin plushie drop rate is only 0.2% and the bugged loot happens way more often than that for most people

the bugged loot is a known bug and is affecting pretty much everyone, hopefully they will fix it but we don't know when. if you're concerned about losing out on a plushie due to the bugs maybe just hold off on plushie hunting until it's fixed

I personally like to go to flooded fortress at 6 PM to hunt vampire crabs since they spawn in abundance there. You can always pop a buzzy jar and find a good amount of azure grasshoppers by running around (you may be able to get lucky and find a starred fairy mantis while doing this). Another way is to pop a ore compass (expensive way but can kill two birds with one stone) and while mining iron the purple centipedes spawn and you can capture those in between nodes.
To conclude, the first option is my favorite and the other options are nice if I'm already looking for bugs with a buzzy or need minerals with a ore compass.

you can also get gold ore from the kitsuu shrine, or exchange mining guild coins for gold bars, or use bug guild coins to buy honey lures directly from auni. so there's quite a few ways you could end up being able to get a lot of lures if you play a lot

I got lucky with the rainbow tip. For the duskwing I Server hopped for a few irl hours. Run the whole dragon shrine out to the bridges around it at 3am, go to Bahari, come back and do it again. I went to about 1pm game time every day and then did it again at 3am.

@valid peaki recently did a ticket because a bunch of us were hunting muujin and some got the loot but some didn't even though we all hit the target. S6 said you all get the loot only different if in a party. If you are not in a party you will get the loot but not the same loot as the party. So say the party hit the plushie, you do not get the same loot. That happened to me twice.

Try using a smoke candle while you're breaking the rocks, because it stops the ladybugs from running away and you won't lose any. Another tip is to use an ore compass that will indicate the large coppers and next to them there are always smaller coppers and stones, so you save a lot of time.

sorry if you're not looking for advice but I feel like with ladybugs being in the party isn't a bad thing, you still each need to pick the flower so you still get the same amount of chances and it means it's fine if one of you doesn't hit the bus because you're still both getting it because of being in the party

How I got the Rainbow butterfly was by semi-following a YouTube video titled Palia - How I catch epic bugs The person starts at 3 am in the south side of Bahari up on a clif near the bridge that people cross to go to the north side. The key is to ignore the flow tree grove because everyone is busy chopping it down, so they are not scaring bugs. I do add buzzy jar (the green snails are super easy to catch to make the buzzy jar) and the smoke thing that keeps you hidden from bugs. And I make sticky bombs and pelt them suckers until I see stars. I don't care if I waste them on the epics like a rainbow butterfly. The common ones are 1-2 bombs tops if they aren't starred. I found a starred and unstarred this way back-to-back. I hope this helps anyone catching them!

To me, the epic bugs felt much easier to catch than the epic fish. Ugh! I can make 400 bombs in a couple minutes if I have resources. With fish, I have to put stuff in the glow worm trays and they take several minutes to make 1-4, depending on what you feed it. And the bugs seemed to spawn easier for me, but that's RNG for you! I laugh that they call this a cozy game. I've never worked so hard to complete something, and the skills are completely out of our control because it's all RNG

I wouldn't say lures are the best method with them, starting around 3am use a buzzy jar, run around where they spawn, if there's none teleport to kilima and back, repeat. do that until around 9-10 am max, later they're mostly gone because people either scared them or cought them

also if you're at grove first there's always a magical animal or an epic bug that spawns there so that's a chance to get it too

can confirm that the smoke candle works for the stag beetle! they can still be startled by you sometimes but more often they're not, and it does make it easier to get that initial hit on them. sadly does not prevent them from glitching into walls, or getting stuck behind fences, and doesn't make them more likely to finally give you that sweet, sweet, mythical plush. lol

Yes, for all insects but if you touch the insect, even using the smoke candle, it will run away, so be careful not to touch it.

For the stag Beetle it's excellent and it will come out of the rock very slowly... None of them will disappear into the ground, it's amazing, you'll love it

whenever i tried to hunt it and watched every tutorial - it didnt work out so essentially i gave up

i need like 1 more bug (some moth from kilima) and a red ray or smt like that, again in kilima, and im done with those bundles

i saved some "instant catch" bombs for this bug only so... first hit and i had it

Good luck on getting these last ones! The gossamer was a random luck find for me. It looks too similar to the common Kilima moth to me, except it's a shade closer to blue...and they are in the same fields together. Mine is the void ray and the unicorn fish, so I feel like the song "Slip Sliding Away".

Being in the area when they first generate at 3 am is the best chance of finding them (and I buzzy jarred them with the smoke thing that hides you from bugs and I used sticky bombs). So many peeps are at the flow grove chopping at 3 am that there's not many in South Bahari...and those bugs are so skittish that it's the hardest after 10 am when there's more movement. Someone said honey lure in the hideaway area was how they got it. I hope these tips help

too many switch players imo, it's always the switch players who just run around, say nothing, and not group up 😛

I understand they need money to keep updating Palia, but I honestly sometimes feel the game lacks basic tools and instead has 10 times more shop stuff that is needed

just a simple party finder would go such a long way... on a shard of 25 people it's NOT easy to find a party when 99% of them are allergic to typing.

as a switch player, its really hard to type on switch! i was apart of a party few mins ago for about an hour & half (the second time i have ever partied up and the longest), being in a party started to make the game all buggy & slow ://

It depends on what you’re trying to catch! Certain bugs can only be caught in a certain area at a certain time of day, it varies depending on each type. I suggest looking at the palia wiki guide to see what you can catch and where 😊

I’ve caught over 300 paper lantern bugs and haven’t got the plushie. Took a break and decided to try for the lunar moth, got it after the third try ???? Don’t know if I should try for a second one or go back to the lantern plush lol 🤪
