ancient amber beetle the easiest way is to just chop a bunch of sapwood trees in bahari, it'll spawn sooner or later. there's a chance for it to spawn just on it's own or when using the lure so when people are doing one for the paper lantern bugs it might be worth it to join but chopping trees is easier I feel

spitfire cicadas sit on sapwood trees, it's easiest to just go around with a buzzy jar. they spawn 3am-6pm all over. personally I feel like I found most of mine near the bridge from north bahari to Pavel mines area but my theory is that it's just because people run there a bit less so they don't get scared as much

the lanternbug and the blue moth plushie is relatively easy to get. i suggest getting 2-3 honeylures and just place them in bahari at night or when the grove appears so there are higher chances to get the plushie since more people are there - worked for me
only the ladybug plushie i find hard to get since you need to find flowers and the flowers have to drop the ladybug to catch it (still working on this one)

i usually go to maji temple to get the rocks over by the wall, then go into that little ruin valley to get those, make my way over to the base of the mayor's house and circle that, then move across the river to hit up around the base of the graveyard (also can sometimes snag clay), then the small cliff behind the buildings of kilima, and then make my way to the cliff near badruu's farm, then either use the quick travel home, or the sign to travel

you can use buzzy jars for the veil moth, i did a loop of kilima, starting over in the open plain near the windmill where auni sometimes hangs out on the way to the fishing dock, then moved over towards the graveyard and the leafhopper plains i've seen them spawn on the side near the farm, then switched servers if nothing showed up. ran this 6pm to 3am. lures i find aren't a great way of finding them personally, but they could work

apparently the drop rates got boosted to 1/500 (0.2%) in the last patch but of course that doesn't mean RNG can't screw you over pre-patch, my first one took almost 2000 kills (~10,000 slowdown arrows). but i was able to get 3 more pretty easily after that

You're in northern Bahari, I can tell from the bugs you picked up. The Rainbow only spawns in southern Bahari... You'll catch a lot of blue crickets before you get a Rainbow, but not brigtheye 😁

i've taken to dropping a lure when at the groves waiting for people to show up. just after i get my hits in, dropping it and start catching bugs, others usually just join in

the lures are also somewhat great timers, usually it ends near 2;30-3 if was dropped near midnight. lure ends, chop trees and be on merry way.

I finally got the Beetle Plush.... Golden tip: use a smoke candle when breaking the rocks because the Beetle is glitching and disappears on the ground when it runs away. Using the smoke candle the Beetle doesn't run away... He walks slowly and there's time to catch him before he disappears on the ground

The Rainbow appears more on the ground , but also in the mountains... I've already caught 71 Rainbows... So, go with the hope that it will work out... If you have a smoke candle, you'll be able to get closer so you don't miss your shot

Jewelwing only appears at top of Pavel. While you're hunting Rainbow, when the buzzy points at the top of Pavel there's a good chance it's Jewelwing... Tip: Jewelwing runs away even though it's constantly shooting, so use a supreme bomb

Gossamer is pretty easy. Start the buzzy at 6 pm and go running around Kilima. You'll catch at least one... I've already caught 4 in a row in one attempt

Golden Glory is pretty easy too. Cut down the white trees in front of Delaila's house. At least once a day a Golden will emerge from one of these trees. Use a smoke candle because it runs fast and you will have to exchange the Ax for the bomb

I absolutely disagree. Did that once and didn't find a single thing, gossamer or otherwise, so I'm not wasting any more jars in Kilima. I've had great success with lures before, found 3 gossamers with a single lure. This time I only used 1 out of my 4 lures for gossamer since after it was too close to 3am, so I moved on to firebreathing dragonfly. I'll go back to hunt for a starred gossamer with lures later today when I have time.

On my best day I caught 1 starred Gossamer, 1 starred Raspberry, 2 starred ladybug and 2 starred dragonfly with a single buzzy... I even posted a photo here that day... Lure is a good option too, but I still prefer to use the buzzy in general

Ima stick with lures in Kilima, only starred bugs I need there are the gossamer and the princess ladybug, so with lures it's easier to target those specifically. I'll keep my jars for a tedious hunt for starred ancient beetle and starred rainbow tip in Bahari, they're the only ones I'm missing there iirc

You will find the Ancient Beetle with the buzzy, yes, but I recommend cutting down the trees with orange leaves (juniper I think)... It will be much easier to catch an Ancient Beetle this way

What I did for the rainbow butterfly is placing a honey lure at pulse water plains between the cliffs at 3:00 am. Since it’s right at the beginning of the day it’s more likely to spawn where the honey lure is, doing its spawn for the day. Not sure if I explained it well, but yeah, 3:00am, pulse water with honey lure

The blue circle is the only place I have EVER found fairy mantises. The red, I saw someone chase a rainbow butterfly into the red circle, but it looked like it was coming from the blue circles direction.

And I mean like every time I run into Bahari I check the blue circle area and will usually find one.

I swear Zeki's machine hates me. I'm glad I hunted the Order Plushie as it was bugged, otherwise I'm sure I'd never have gotten it. I only get lights. Dozens of lights. I'm always close to happy tears when I get a item I don't already have.

Have u tried catching them between 7-10am? (not later or they might already be caught or scared off)
Another possibility is trying a honey lure at pulse water plains- u may or may not get lucky

Ahh and if u don’t wanna scare them off u can wear a smoke candle and combine it with the buzzing jar

I think if you use lure you need to catch as many common bugs as you can so rainbow tipped gets spawned

I think the algorithm is not just a random RNG. I believe it is a combination with quantity. That's why I hunt all the bugs from 1 am until 3 am in Pulsewater before hunting Rainbow... Have you ever noticed that after losing a bug several times it dies easier the last time?

i find the best time to catch them is between 3am and 6am in server time for the same reason that its early morning and ppl haven't scared them oof yet. that time works best for me i have about 10-14 star ones catching them that way just run a buzzy jar at the same time so you can spot the rare bugs.
