You get onyx stucco as a gift from one of the NPCs. I think you have to give a gift first maybe?

You can use the “cutting tool” but you do need space on your plot to do it. The old way of switching between plots doesn’t actually work anymore, so don’t get a new plot for that purpose. (You can search in this thread to find the video, just be aware that the end of the video with switching plots doesn’t work anymore.)

Only one side has the actual door, the other three sides are just openings. You can switch all the sides to a door to find it and then rotate the cottage so the door is where you want it.

The Alchemist ones are so boxy. I actually like the estate stairs better. It’d be cool one day to customize the bottom half or something for a broom closet or a book book or something. If a variant of the alchemist stairs is released later and it’s empty under vs the giant box I’d be the happiest girl alive for freed real-estate.

I like the size of them, but not the placement. If you want to use them to access the attic, you either walk up the stairs straight into a wall, or the roof, or you have weirdness in my third picture where it opens a hole into both attics. Or else you have to put them kind of in the middle, which is fine, but it's just limiting. If you could open the wall between the attics, it would be much better, but alas, you can't.

Hi, guys! I’m new to glitching out of bounds. Does anyone have a good method for glitching trees outside of the plot bounds? I’ve been testing some that I found on YouTube but they weren’t working and I think it’s because trees are clipped into the ground.

Thanks! I tried using the red present but it just wasn’t glitching properly. I wasn’t trying to sink the trees. I also tried to use the floor method where the trees were placed on the wooden floor tiles and glitched out of bounds, but then u could delete the tiles.

Thank you for all the advice. I am trying to do a Narnia inspired entrance with the ravenwood standing lamp post and trees. I thought to do the trees first. I just tried using the present with the lamp and it also wasn’t working. I’m starting to think it’s a “me” problem.

Were you using anchorless when u did this too? To push it out of bounds? Pushing itself is fine, but if it was sunken using that method, even on the present, it will yeet it.

I attached my giant terrace to a paver, sunk by one crate height. In the first, picture, you can see my paver (the bowl is not necessary, it's just there so I can find the right paver if I need to) up on the crate and the terrace with the trees in the distance. Then next picture is paver in place, and third picture is the area at my entrance with the terrace sunk and the trees all there. And amusingly, I was going for a Narnia type look at first, too, so I have a lampost as well! 😆

Oooooo okay. That’s good to know. I watched a video where someone was able to delete their tiles and the item was left floating out of bounds. But it’s not working for me in this case. I figured it had been patched. So I was working on the red present, but it’s not actually swapping/glitching my red present for the lamp post or trees.

Which is weird because I have gotten it to work before.

They had deleted a chain that they had made and the floor the item is sitting on got left behind is prob. what they showed. It's just a diff. method to get things out of bounds rather than pushing, you are making a chain of floor pieces then turning it around backwards

What do you mean swapping the red present? As for the deleting the floors, you can't delete anything that has something attached, but if you use group select to get unconnected floors out of bounds, you can delete all the ones in between. Just not the ones with your lamp/trees on them.

You can't actually swap anchors, rather you anchor your anchor to another piece, creating a chain. Ppl do this to sink larger anchor items, so they have a smaller item sitting above ground, that way it's easier to hide

I’ll try doing a glitch with the unconnected tiles. I must be watching some out of date tutorials. She was using the butchers blocks and red presents to glitch items out of bounds. But if I can’t get the unconnected tiles to work, I’ll use the terrace trick and sink the trees. That’s one I haven’t tried yet.

For what it's worth, the terrace is unbelievably easy and you can anchor it to something like a paver that will be easy to hide.

You can also sink them to ground lvl and it will let u put trees on them when they are out of bounds with the anchorless method

Just have to be barely above the ground lvl so they can connect with the grid of the terrace

don't ask me why it lets u do that but not the regular way but it does XD

Yeah, it's silly because I can actually see the grid of the terrace even though I can't see the terrace itself, and yet I can't place anything without lifting it up.

If ur gonna place them after the fact, sink the terrace no lower than this, or the grid won't work -

Yes, decorate before sinking it, but you can continually lift it and drop it by the anchor to keep decorating. (That's why I have that bowl on mine--just so I know which paver it is. I can pick it up onto a crate and put more trees on it, and then put it back where it was.)

Once you figure it out, you place them further away and sink/raise them more to go with the terrain. The red lines show the edge of the plot and the circle is another terrace I sunk out of bounds. I had to sink it even lower than the regular plot surface, though because the landscape has a little gully/depression in this area...

If you can place on the stairs (like if they have a grid), you can place on them out of bounds (I have not really used them for their intended purpose, so I can't remember if you can put stuff on them).

For instance, if you hang builders floors over the out of bounds area, you can place stuff on them. You just can't place stuff on the ground out of bounds, because there's no grid. So to place stuff on ground level, we are basically nudging something or floating/sinking something with a grid into the out of bounds area.

you could get disheartened by the odd mounds not taking a reasonable shape
but they grew on me as i was decorating for a winterlight challenge in my community
i was able to used them on a Hollow Grove landscape lol (about 50% only of the ground)

It's probably hitting off one of the rocks or something. Cancel place the Gazebo out of the way off of the present, then move the present into position and place so it snaps back to avoid collision

I ran into this once, a couple things to try.

Try going to their plot then coming back. [For some reason after I did that it started working for me.]

Another thing is remove all people with editor privileges. Then grant them again to people. See if that helps

I only have maybe five. One of them used to be inventory storage overflow like for fish and bugs and random stuff. I don’t know what to do just yet with so many plots but my dedicated Conservation plot is now a scale for a diorama. And I LOVE THESE TINTS.

A conservation made me stop there once a day to water everything in one painfully long session to keep it growing and have more seeds.

It's all a matter of rotating your base object in the correct way (in all directions--up/down, side to side, etc.) and cancel placing it so that when you place objects on it, they end up in the right place.

This is probably the trickiest thing to do with glitching, because you have to visualize where you want stuff in three dimensions before moving your item for placement. Take the cutting board in that picture of the TV. You would need to place the nightstand piece sideways so that the side you want the cutting board is facing upward. Then you would need to cancel place the nightstand vertically (with the placeable surface upward) so that the top surface is exactly at the level of where the front of the nightstand was before. You place your cutting board, and then when you pick up the nightstand and put it down again, the cutting board will look like it's attached to the front of the TV although you actually placed it on the top. I drew a picture of how this kind of thing works (with a tree on the present) in this post... #🏡│decor message In the TV example, you would have your nightstand sideways (like the present) and when you rotate it to cancel place it vertically you would make sure to also move it down so that the top surface of the nightstand is exactly where the side of the nightstand was before.

Are you doing the double jump to get your glider open and all? The double jump is the key step to get to the proper sort of menu. You can stand closer to the present with the cottages, and it will just snap to the present. You will end up stuck in the floor but you can use unstuck to get out of it.

Also, the conservatory will not go on the present.

Sometimes it's just buggy, so try again, but also try leaving to kilima and coming back. Sometimes it just doesn't seem to work, but reloading your plot sort of resets it.

When Im aligning multiple rooms on red presents, I cancel place the bottom story away and I use that stationary top room to align the trim on the next room to line them up perfectly since they don't naturally connect doing this. Its easier for me than flowers or eyeballing!

Are you trying to do it in a harvest house? If I remember correctly, the issue was the harvest house. In the alchemist cottage (and likely the estate) it works more easily. It required a lot of flicking and cancel placement, but I can tell you how to do it.

For plot i seem to really enjoy the ones with a long path leading to the house at the back of the plot. Usually including some sort of exterior path from the sides of the home around to the front. Using the landscaping rocks to create different ground levels really makes everything look put together. I personally like a symetrical house so i start with a big room in the middle and work my way out from there. If you want to change your plot landscape then i would do that first because it changes the location of the gates slightly which would change your paths.

And if I am looking for a certain idea like piano I just hit the magnifying glass at the top right corner and type it in.

This is an issue that has been around for a long time. For some reason certain spots on the wall (where the nodes for house pieces are, or around door openings) will turn red and/or make your item sink into the wall.

But it's actually super easy. Put your present on top of another present on the ground. Then move the top present onto the ground next to the first present and cancel place it there. Then place your house on it (just make sure you put your house on the right present). Once you pick up the present and place it again, the house will be back down where it's supposed to be on the ground.

No, being next to another item shouldn't cause that. I believe your floor pieces combined with the tables on top just took u past the stack limit. A way around it is to simply split your piece into smaller pieces un-connected

I didn't have to rotate it, I just flicked it onto a plate. If u want all 4 on the same anchor, rotate the anchor itself, since it will flick/pull from ur inv. in the same direction every time

It's beautiful and I love it, but... First, it's extremely expensive. I waited until it was on sale. Second, it can be blindingly bright in the day, and for some reason it seems extremely dark at night--like the snow still is bright white, but everything else is so hard to see, especially inside. Third, unless you want green terraces, you can't really terraform on it--the terraces stay green.

That said, I still love it. There is a LOT of out of bounds area to explore (and use!) and it's just so pretty to look at. The auroras at night are beautiful. I think it's worth getting, but I just wanted you to be aware of the little drawbacks. 🙂

I love olive, too. But what I really like is that the tints go together better than the old ones. Like I can put olive stuff and harmony stuff and maybe some alabaster into a room together and it works. The old tints completely clash with one another, so I always felt like I was stuck with a blue room and a green room and an obnoxiously pinkish purple room.

I'm always trying out new ideas for windows... Use the original windows and stick lights in your walls. Use the door openings and block off the bottom to make open windows--I even made "glass" in one of mine--or if you're incredibly adventurous, build new walls out of other things. Or use the "cutting tool" to put bay windows up against the side of the open wall.

The circular arch/tunnel is all built out of ranch house coffee tables. It's a complex sequence of rotating and cancel placing repeatedly (12 times in fact) to get them all perfectly linked into a circle and connected so they move together by just moving the bottom table. It took a lot of trial and error and a lot of help from @heady spoke to create a sort of mechanized method--I have a "jig" on the wall of a house that helps me do each step of the rotation the same exact way each time.

The estate rooms are pretty much exactly the same as the alchemist cottages--same size, same method of attaching them. So if you know how to use the alchemist ones, the estate ones will work the same way.

Yeah, unfortunately with the cottages/estates, they are pretty much just blocks connected in a line, but you could rotate the ones toward the front on the sides so that they face inwards. There are roof connector pieces that make the roofs connect nicely when the rooms are at right angles to one another.

YES! That's what I was imagining! I think I like the right side with the ends stacked, but on the left side front, you can stick a roof connector in there so the roof continues into the stacked cottage wall (only something you can see on the outside--it doesn't add room on the inside).

Since its a new item im not sure if it has surfaces you can place it on, other than roofs. You can try a few of those: on a terrace, builders blocks. Red present directly. Not likely, but palia is not really predictable, lets just say. :p

Look if theres a placeable surface somewhere on the windmill, where you could put something and group select from it. I recommend looking for potential placeable surface with a spiral cobweb

I want cozy nice winter house with nooks and real windows, but also want to use all the icing on the house:(( but the harvest house pieces don’t work with other ( to get nooks and real windows) and the icing doesn’t work with harvest house
How did you guys worked with it? Have you found out how to put icing on harvest house or how to make cozy nooks in alchemist/estate house? And real windows?Any ideas?

They place on red presents, so you could float them off a present into place. (You don't have to use a new anchor for every icicle, just cancel place the last one off the present and cancel place the present to the next icicles location)

I was so lazy to learn Lila's method for rotating books, that I found an entirely other way to lay them down.
I'll post pictures when I log back in but,

But you really just put your plate on the wall with the spiral web, and then cancel place it onto a shelf placed on that same square. Add your books to the plate (you want to rotate them so the cover of the book is facing you) and then you can place the plate on the ground and they will flip and appear stacked on top of one another

I've been using this method to flip all kinds of things I dont know why it never clicked to me to try books

I can confirm that the windmill simply places on a red present. No flicking needed!

It will not place on any other roof than the alchemist/estate, and there's no placeable surface on the pavilion roof for example, so you would have to float it off the present to get it up there.

Yeah, if you interact with cancel placed objects, I think they suddenly remember where they are supposed to be. For instance, if you cancel place a plant and water it in the new cancel placed position, it waters everything around the plant where it was originally. (So this doesn't work if you are trying to keep some trees in less than full grown stage while watering another one.)
