Yes, but it’s tricky. The easiest way is to actually put a builders item like a floor or pillar and group select with that item to pick up the terrace and place it on a floor.

By "new steps" you mean the wooden stairs? That come with the alchemist houses
If so yes, kinda. You need to place them in a house first, then place any floor item on them, and group select from this item, this allows you to place them everywhere else

You need them to snap them together here... The green dot will light up when they are connected. Then when you pick it up, make sure you always pick it up with the one that was placed down first.

My guess (without watching) is that you aren't connecting the floor pieces. When you put them down they snap together, but if you aren't aiming correctly the snap together without actually attaching to each other. You need them attached. When you're adding a new floor you want to make sure you're aiming at the next floor so that they actually stick together. If you just place it down next to it, it won't be attached.

If grass shows through the floor piece you've attached, it is connected. If the grass is not showing, it most likely is not connected.

Yes, everything being built with glitches always have an anchor, and to move the whole thing around, you have to grab that anchor, not the building you built ontop of it.

The way I do it Involves flicking, I put a paver on the wall with the spiral web, flick the tree onto the paver on the wall, and when I grab the paver the tree lays down!

However once the red present comes out I think you'll be able to use that for a non flick method

Sadly, but there's chance to recover by dicesct the one structure you moved in and reassemble it out in the open, aim for the piece that holds majority of the pieces above link to (not group move) and rebuild the surrounding. Unless somehow they're not connected together then

good practice is to always keep buildings like that on one anchor that u use to move it without using group select (u can make the thing, group select and put on top of floor or other building piece to anchor)

and trust me, i wish i started doing this earlier x.x there is a long list of things i had to re-do in the past :V

This is halfway a joke, and halfway not, and may not work for you... but it's been the inspiration for me to decorate more plots than not 😂

Invite a friend/a few friends over to do some functional thing (cooking party? game night? dinner party roleplay? scavenger hunt?) on your plot. Set the date a day or two ahead (arranged such that in the intervening time you will have time and energy available to decorate - but keep the timeline as short as is feasible for you).

You ONLY have to decorate the PART of your plot that will be used when your friend(s) visit. The rest can be blank or slapdash. Feel free to set up "no friends beyond this point" stanchions if you want! (Of course, you may decorate beyond that if you have the time and momentum.)

The idea here is to create a rough sketch of a space — only the one space. You are not required to keep it as it is past the friend visit if you don't want to; you can add to it, tear it down and rebuild it, reimagine it, or whatever, afterward.

The purpose of the friend visit is not to judge your decorating, but to do the activity you planned. The overarching purpose of the exercise is to give you a focal point to build around and also to imbue the whole thing with a sense of urgency.

When you don't have time to build the Most Elaborate thing, you have to put something down — at least in this one little area.

The hope is that this will then break the "blank page" paralysis and free you to iterate from there.

Now, if you're reading this and it's filling you with dread and anxiety in a bad way, then maybe it's not for you. Obviously don't do something that will make you miserable or that doesn't work for you for other reasons — but perhaps it will be food for thought?

What I did was make my that room multi-toned.
For example, I put the Halloween night sky wallpaper aaall the way above. Then put various different wallpapers in different spots.
In your case, I would put it on the second floor (where there’s a walkway), and then use a different wallpaper (likely a bold and separate but co color) to the walkway’s wallpapers.
And the bottom I’d suggest doing something like one side vs its opposite side of the room receiving a wallpaper/color, and vise versa for the other way.
Idk if that makes any sense though…but I certainly hope it helps :3

Any chance the room to the right of that is the same size as the room the oven is in? It looks like it might be? If so, you can open the wall fully between the two rooms and put your oven partly into the wall space and then close the wall back up. You won’t be able to do it with the wall to the left because it will open only as far as that vertical beam, but you could get it at least partly into one wall that way.

It's a shame you can't move the cushions otherwise you could play. Through its not much fun playing on your own, I wish they would allow more people at once to visit as I wanted to create a place for groups of people to chill out and meet up before or after a group quest but that's not possible at the moment unless I unlock the plot. I hope they will do it in the future though as unlocking my plot means I have to be there for people to use it.

If you mean for making stairs, you can use the dessert plate stack I think, but you can't remove them like you could with the bowls.

I put a floor on a shelf, then the table on the floor. After that, I rotated the shelf. Pick up the shelf again and cancel its placement upright to put the pillars on the table

the popular one i've seen posted is using the umbraan chandelier and the farmer's purple jar. you can use a red present to float them both to the proper height, to make the chandelier a skirt and the jar the bodice

I have this problem often, also on terraces. I end up building stuff outside (making sure it’s all connected), and then I cancel place most of it out of the way and just place the main first piece so that everything will then follow and snap into place with the anchor piece.

If you float it off a builders floor you can then put the floor under the dress form (or even sink the floor a little to hide it). If you cancel place the floor up, then put the chandelier on the underside of the floor, when you pick up and place the floor the chandelier will be floating above it in the middle of the air. (In case you don’t have a red present and don’t want to wait.)

Google told me that in order to make something look like it's floating, to place a paver on the ground then use the "hide" function to sink it into the ground to make it disappear and then place the item I want to float over the hidden paver. It told me to use Shift + scroll button. But it didn't work.

Look for videos on cancel placement. Once you can cancel place, you can float and sink. There is no hide function and even with cancel placement this is not how you do it. Also I don't think there's any function with shift + scroll.

If you cancel place the wall backwards (I think? I have a hard time visualizing this without actually doing it) and place the clock, when you pick up the wall and replace it, the clock will be sunk into the wall, so that the back of it pokes through on the other side of the wall.

Or, if you can't rotate and cancel place (hi, console here), you can just cancel place the wall 1 small square back and place the clocks, I think that's enough for the back of the clock to poke out the other side

Not sure if this is just an xbox issue but when I've chained together a bunch of building blocks and then select all, the "grip point" seems to jump around. It's not actually where I'm point to when I click group select but some randomly block in my build. I thought it was the most recently placed piece but that's not it. It's incredible frustrating and makes placing things correctly really difficult. Any tips or ideas?

When you group select, it will move the entire thing by the anchor piece, so it's the first piece you placed, or the bottom piece. I don't think there's any way to get around this.

What I don't get though is that it's not the first piece. I am trying to add a pillar which isn't even attached and as soon as I add it, that suddenly becomes the anchor piece (igoring the 30+ other pieces I've already placed). I thought maybe it was a recency thing so I placed more to see if the anchor changes, but it doesn't. It just randomly decides a new piece is the anchor every so often

If you build something like this, a pillar, up to 5 builders floors, and then builders blocks connecting to the ground when connected right it should put your cursor on the builders block rather than the middle of the build

If the pillar isn’t attached and you group select with it then it will move by the pillar. If the pillar is attached, it will move with the anchor piece.

When you group select the game jumps your cursor to the lowest unconnected or base item, even when all pieces were placed unconnected on the ground they may not all be at the same height do to micro variations in the landscape (some landscapes has a more pronounced and obvious variation)
But, as a general rule, if anything is on the same level it should pick from the one you're pointing to

But only if they aren't connected, right? If they are snapped together, then it goes back to the original first piece (I just tested this, and that's what happened for me).

Three builders walls snapped together--two on the ground and one on top. Group select by any of the three walls, and it will move by the first one placed.
If I put a pillar next to them and group select by the pillar, it moves by the pillar.
If I put a pillar on top and group select by the pillar, it now moves by the first wall.

Are you trying to place them in bounds or partly out of bounds? You probably have to place the big ones first and then you can slide the smaller ones into the big ones, but if you need to slide more than about half, you’ll have to cancel place one terrace out of the way first.

I've recently learned to flick and it seems there's one of my two plots where I can't flick trees? I've done it a dozen of times on the first one without any issues but I never managed to make it work on the other one, is there a reason in particular? The plot is not even near the decor limit, I can flick flowers but not ancient/coastal bushes and ferns for example

there are some plots that get bugged with flicking. for example i have two of my plots i cant flick on at all. one of them it started with types of items that i couldnt flick until it was all of them. for me it started after i was sending items to an over the item limit plot.
it seems someone fixed it by finding the item that was stuck far from the plot's grounds, but the cause is not really super clear either.

if you've tried flicking in exact circumstances on both plots (on the ground, not near anything, or near the exact same thing. try other situations too) and it still doesnt work, try if you can flick other things than trees. also if you can buy another plot and on there you have no issues too, then yeah that plot is prob cursed

Thanks for the insight! I have a terrace out of bound on this plot but apart from that I don't have anything outside. I can flick furniture without issues, and I've tried flicking in different situations like you said I don't have enough to buy another plot at the moment but I'll definitely try flicking on it once I do

the terrace out of bounds shouldnt be the issue. the idea is that its item that are supeeer far away. like way down, way up, or way out of the walkeable out of bounds area. okay so only trees and those plants you mentionned! if you havent already i'd try putting down an empty with nothing attached harvest house on both plots and test it like that, but honestly its probable its just cursed. good news its that for now its just those types of items
you can still get the tree inside though thats less straightforward :/. you would have to float it on a terrace thats on the ground outside. prob some cancel placing the tree at the end to place the terrace close enough to the house

Any floor that is connected from something will display grass, so if you move it to snap and connect from the one next to it it will show grass.
Normally people want the opposite, no grass, but having grass is easier

You're welcome!! It took some trial and error to get the rotations right. I try to keep my clipping tool on so whenever I get something I know I'll want to repeat but won't remember how to easily, I have it recorded 😂

If you want no grass to poke through, your cursor needs to be as far away as possible from the tile the new one is connecting to before it's placed down.

Pavers will work for some items in the way that the red present does, but not for all items. The red present is unfortunately unique. It will hopefully be back in a week or so!

so i created myself a platform, the point of it would be placing flowers on the bottom of it and somehow sink it to the ceiling. How can i do it?

You actually put the flowers on the top and then flip it over. So you will need something to attach your platform to that will act as an anchor to keep it flipped over, like another builders piece... you flip that anchor piece over on a shelf and attach the floor with your flowers, and then when you pick up the builders piece anchor, it will go back to "right-side up" and the platform with your flowers will be flipped over. Then it's just a matter of getting your anchor in the right place so the platform and flowers are on the ceiling.

It's my understanding (because I don't have either) that the gazebos work the same, except maybe that they need all the space under to be clear, unlike the alchemist houses, you can't be really close to the red present
The tip is to try to be higher so you can see more of the rp surface from a distance

Yes it can. You need to place a flower inside it to sit it on the anchor and multi-select by that, or flick a pillar or other small item onto the snap point and then multi-select by that to place it if ur on pc

Of course people can respond here, but just in case you weren't aware, there's a Housing Board at the entrance to your plot that allows you to visit a great number of player's plots, even while they are offline. It's a good place to find inspiration and ideas etc.

use the spiral cobweb to put the table on the wall. then use the cobweb to flick the scissors onto the table

You can, you just can't elevate them very high off the ground. After about 3 crates in height they un-anchor

I grinded non - stop for that quest, lol. The fastest way to get essence is either thru hunting or chopping down infected trees. I chose to force spawn trees when I needed it

how do you force spawn trees?

Force spawning is something we used to do before the grove was a thing. You go to an area and chop down all the trees in your sightline (only the smaller ones, 3 chops or less if going solo) then wait for them to spawn back in. Go thru and chop again. Keep repeating that and it causes either flow trees or infected trees to spawn in higher numbers in the area u chopped. It takes 2 to 3 times of chopping before u start seeing a good amount of trees but once u get going, u can get a lot fo flow wood/essence quickly

So as an example I can get about 50-60 flow wood easily once I get going in about 15-20 mins. You can get way more if u chop in a group

Btw, is anyone else experiencing rlly bad lag the past day or 2 in game? I can barely play bc of this. It's starting to get annoying. I have updated my drivers, cleared storage, etc. it's still doing it

This is a common issue. If you have anything attached to the other houses on that side, have stuff on the ceiling/walls in the room below/ on the side etc. it will cause this

It will help if you place a builders pillar on the front edge of the industrial shelf, and then place a builder's floor attached to the lower part of the pillar. Then you can put pavers directly on the floor piece and your glitches will align much nicer.
