Yes! Start with your paver on the shelf fully turned 90 degrees. Then cancel the paver onto the ground a little ways away (however high you want the beetle). You want to go in the direction that would be "above" the original position of the paver... so if the top of the paver is facing to the left, you cancel place the paver on the ground to the left of where it was. Then place your beetle, and when you replace the paver, the beetle will be above it. You can put the paver right next to the wall to make it look like the beetle is on the wall.

This is why I'm doing all the complicated structural stuff first. As much as I really want to start decorating my rooms, I am not going to add all those extra pieces until I'm sure I don't need to flick. Although the one cup method does remove the need to flick a lot of things--you can use it to get stuff in places that you can't even flick things into.

though i believe the right click in housing mode cant be changed so be very careful about that. most of the time its fine but i removed a pavilion like that and had to glitch it back on the plot and cancel place away a ridiculous amount of stuff (with limited plot space lol) to be able to place it back

Luckily right click is not a commonly done thing on a mac because there's no actual right mouse button. There's a way to do it, but since it's not something I do often at all, hopefully I won't screw that up!

Weird question, but I was trying to work on angling some terraces on switch to try to make a hill and the texture on the medium terraces went flat gray when placed at an angle. Does anyone know if this is just a switch bug or if it's just the object?

This happens with terraces. The more you tilt them, the more they lose their color. If you tilt them 90 degrees they turn completely white except for the edge at the top.

Usually it's just half of the terrace, so you can hide the white part in the ground. Or cover it with bushes.

After hours of math, ive come to the conclusion that the small builders box is 30inches by 30 inches, making the large squares on the grid 30inches wide 30 inches length, making the small squares 6 inches. This is a problem sometimes in certain areas of where the wall is supposed to be. Usually close to the middle or exactly in the middle. Is this an alchemist cottage and would the front door be there if the wall wasn't open? It's most likely something like that.

But what you can do... Put the table close to where you want it and put a pillar on top. Then put a builders block on the floor nearby--I like to put the block squarely in a square of the grid to make calculating the move easier. Group select your table with the pillar. Cancel place the pillar/table combo on the side of the builders block. Now group select using the builders block. Slide the block over as far as you need the table to move to be in the place you want it and place it. The table/pillar will snap back to where it was but moved over the distance you moved the block. You can do this repeatedly until you get the table where you want it, and then remove the pillar.

Oh yeah, you won't be able to get it to snap. You can get it to the right spot by nudging it with the block. I usually get close with the grid on and then turn the grid off to nudge it exactly where I want it.

Do you know how to cancel place? You stack the two walls outside somewhere. Then cancel the top wall far away where it won't bump into anything (it will move with the bottom wall wherever you move the bottom wall). Then place the bottom wall where you want it and the top wall will snap into place, buried in the roof.

Yeah, you have to learn to cancel place to do this. It's pretty easy, though, and incredibly useful for building! Cancel placement allows you to move something out of the way without the game actually recognizing it as moved. And since builders walls and floors stay attached to each other when you move them, you can use this to your advantage to get things to go where they otherwise won't go. I can explain cancel placement here, but most people prefer to watch a video, so I would search YT for videos on cancellation or cancel placement. Happy to answer questions or explain here if you'd prefer, though!

Also, if you're just asking what I mean by "far away"... you don't want the second wall to be colliding with the walls of your house or other items when you move the first wall. This will make sense more when you try it.

I'm not sure on PS5, but I just know it's possible. It's where you move something out of the way but don't actually officially place it, so that it will move back to where it was when you reload your plot.

You can get the pergola on the blocks the way you want with cancel placement. (And in fact I think they changed the pergola so you don't actually need to flick anymore--you used to have to flick it to get it anywhere but outside on the ground, so the videos are a little outdated. They changed this in the last patch, and I'm pretty sure the pergola is one of the things they fixed to go anywhere.)

Just found how to do the cancel placement on PS5 — so I’m gonna try it-! Thanks so much for your help!

In any case, with cancel placement, this is really easy... It just takes some measurement. You place your block down (or whatever you want to put the pergola on top of). And then place your pergola nicely centered. Then the measuring comes into play... You now figure out where you need the block to be in relation to where it is now. Once you know that you can pick up the pergola, cancel place the block into that new position at the corner, and then place the pergola on the now cancel-placed block. When you pick up the block and put it down again, the leg of the pergola will be on the block. Then you just put a block under the other three legs (it only needs to be attached to one).

Here are some photos... ignore that there are two blocks--you are only going to use one--I just have two to illustrate. In the first picture, the pergola is placed centered on the closer right block. What you want to do is cancel place that block where that second one is (the arrow). Then replace the pergola on it and you get the pergola with the leg on the block after you pick up and place the block down again. Basically the pergola is placing on the block where it was originally placed, but it shifts since you cancel placed the block. @craggy egret

Placing a wall across the pillar helps the curtain to find the grid, you then take the wall away
Also, if you have issues placing them on walls try placing another wall behind so that it doubles

And yes, possibly the same change that messed up the curtains the first time left something behind when they fixed it

I've used the spiral web to flick apple trees onto anchors! So I think it should.

For rugs you can use it its just that forr things the spiral web is allergic to it just has to be out of bounds or sometimes on the wall for it to work

I just tried it. I can't get it to flick onto a table or shelf with the web. I had to flick it onto an out of bounds plate and then move it to the shelf with the plate. @glad osprey, in case you want to try this... there are a couple steps but it's possible.

I will add that I did not try placing the actual table out of bounds to flick the cabbage, so that might work.

I also didn't try flicking with something other than the web.

Are the gazebos around the plot just decorative/there for vibes or can you place things in them? Like, did the one person I saw with the landscape just not use them or are they unusable? If they're currently unusable, have there been any statements from S6 that being able to place things in them is a feature that's being worked on?

because of where they're placed, (out of bounds) decorating them is not possible at the moment without glitching. i'm not aware of any plans to make those placeable areas. you can still do what you want to do, it will just demand more steps and learning a bit about glitching stuff out of bounds

also since they're elevated from the floor, hiding builder's floors in them is easier

i'm guessing its a possibility, but out of bounds glitching is quite basic, so imo it's not something i would be worried about compared to other glitch techs. also i feel the likelihood of it messing with what you've done in a significant way (making the items disappear, go back to the front of your plot...) is even lower.
i'm just wondering if its going to end up being more frustrating waiting for something, i think, if it does come, it wont be soon aaaat all. Rather than relatively low risk imo.
but that's fair though if you'd rather wait! :)

Agree with what Noucheee said... it's unlikely things will disappear if you glitch them. You just might not be able to do the same glitches in the future. People still have plots with ghosted buildings, even though that glitch was patched with the Elderwoods update. The stuff doesn't go away--you just can't move it or change it. But obviously up to you if you want to wait!

also s6 is perfectly fine with "creative use of game mechanics" if that helps. they wont break something intentionally. unless they just change a system (the grid changed a bit with the new housing system for example) and it happens to break a glitch tech. or if it really messes with the game from functioning correctly, which that too feels unlikely

It takes a lot of practice honestly, if you're standing close and can freely place it you either aimed too high or low, try the spot in the very center just under the ribbon at the top of the red with the middle of the cursor

If you try to float it, make sure the base anchor stay on the ground or it will make the cottage invisible and unable to retrieve when exit and re-enter plot.

You can anchorless float houses by placing a second story in h mode on the red presented house, and then moving the bottom story from the red present. The top story stays

I make my cottage float to a certain height and angle it diagonaly in the first attempt with multiple anchors but the base anchor was placed in the harvest house floor and not the ground so it disappeared but still attached to the red present. i got a question for all is there a limit on how many building blocks there are and can touch i know the over all limit is 3500 for total decor but i am under 1000 and having trouble building what i am trying to build, when i try to place blocks down it say it is to high but not any bigger then the character, i am not a good builder

There is a height stack limit both connecting vertically and horizontally. I believe it is 40 ir 50, I always forget the actual number

There is a way around it, but it can be a bit of a puzzle. You have to connect them with multi-select, and/or make ur pieces in chunks so they don't count towards the stack

Sometimes i start a own building, by placing the builders blocks at two difference places and build it like, at the end will be placed together visually, but its two staples.

The stack limit is 50, meaning that if you connect one piece from the previous you can do up to 50 pieces (direction doesn't really matter)
But if you place your pieces without connecting them to the previous one as much as possible or, as Lila said, using group select to connect several pieces at once, you can get around this

trying a bunch of stuff xD harvest house roof's curve is nice, but apart from being able to sink it a tiny bit, would have to stack a billion terraces, so nottt the best haha. BUT i like it on the pavilion's floor, in the right context it could be nice. like imagine with a path made with camping tables in the middle, and surround it with alchemist floor on the sides if you want to make the area bigger
the spot where you can flick it though is not easy at all though so i can send you the vid tutorial if you want

and honestly except the floor flicking spot thats hard to find its easier than sinking an alchemist house. and no need for red presents unless you want to put the pavillion higher

Yes I do believe so, Im too afraid to try though since I just have the one, but the depth doesn't seem to be an issue. I only go just over 4 and a half builders blocks down. This way the cauldrons slide right under if you want the effect in your floor. 5 makes it disappear underground

Theres a video on how to do it best on YouTube! But you grow them to a certain stage then have to turn them just right to have them grow into a spiral together at later stages. And you cant move them after, or you lose your spiral effect

if its just to transport them, builder's floors, otherwise you could do it on a yardwork terrace (so not group select here, not sure you can group select together a bunch of flowers without them being on nsomething, and so then.. rather just move what they're on)

Yeah, if the lines weren't so obvious I'd prefer it that way too! I will eventually find a way to cover them that suits me!

The water in the baths is somewhat see through, and there's no item small enough to fake being rose petals. You'd be able to put flowers in the tub and sink them to where they're barely showing above the water, but the rest will still be visible underwater

Edit: you could try the smallest homestead bottle flipped upside down and have the bottom of it just barely poking through the water, but you'd still see the rest of it through the water

Thank you! It's just pavers and makeshift cabinets or dressers or something. I just threw all the dishes on it for now to make it look less empty. 🙂 The back part unfortunately flickers a bunch from the overlapping pavers, but hopefully I can pile a ton of stuff on it so it won't be too noticeable.

Ivy 3 is for the roof of the alchemist cottage, so it won't place anywhere else without flicking. The other ivies are for the walls but will luckily place on the ground, too. Otherwise you probably have to flick those, too, to get them anywhere else.

Its one of those things that takes 1-a million tries, and theres a rhythm to it to figure out. Its definitely the hardest, please dont be discouraged!
