This might be because of distance, actually. There's a limit (just under 12 small crates) of how far you can "float" something from its anchor

In this case you can do the same but leave the floor underneath the sign, then place some floors starting right next to it, without connecting them (so they don't have grass poking), to form a sort of "bridge", then go and group select from the last one (the farther back) and move them all, you should be able to place that last one closer to the edge of plot so the one with the sign is where you wanted
You can remove everything else afterwards

The bloom event in Kilima. The planters are recipe drops, so if you've done the bloom event, you might already have the recipe--check your crafting bench.

I have not done this, but I think you can do it by hiding a builders crate inside the cooking station (using cancel placement) and putting the item on top of the crate.

I put a builders block on a shelf. Then I canceled the builders block a mile away (okay, like 30 squares) on the ground. I put the plushie on top of the block. Then I picked up the block and placed it again so the plushie jumped the 30 squares away and sunk. Then I put the block at the corner of my plot so that the would be in the water off plot. They have stayed like that for months. Is there another way to do this where they wouldn't stay? I'm confused now...

alchemist cottage is in general a "base room" from cottages series, you can only connect it to other base cottages

The cottages are just base rooms that come with some of the add ons I believe

The cottages (A and B) are both base rooms with add-ons like windows, chimney, dormers, ivy. Once you build a cottage, you can take all that stuff off and it will be just a base room. If you pick up the cottage it will put all your add-ons into storage and it will be just a base room. There is really just a single alchemist room that only varies based on the stuff you add to it.

And they only connect to each other. You cannot connect alchemist line with the other housing pieces like hallways/rooms and fireplaces and doors.

What is flicking? What is cancel placing? What is alt selecting? Even the beginner's guides assume I already know these things

ALT selecting: You put a mug as an example on a table, put your cursor over it, hit ALT+SElect on your keyboard, and you get more "space" to manipulate whatever surface (table, etc.) you want to bypass conflict boundaries when aligning furniture.

Cancel placing is when you pick up an item, move it out of the way, and instead of left-clicking, you use an INV item (i.e., plushie/placeable item) to "drop" it out of the way. When you reload your plot it goes back where you moved it from originally. This usually is used when layering/stacking items.

yes thats good! smth i recommend is to find sashimi, sushi, poke bowls and similar cooking parties, they can give a couple hundred thousands for like a 45-60 minute party. and then put them on a plot (the starred ones ofc) and then when u need more money u sell them:)

I think I asked this before, but there is nothing in that bottom room, right? Nothing on the ceiling or near the ceiling or high on the walls? I noticed today that the houses actually overlap when you stack them, so something within probably a crate distance of the ceiling in the bottom room might cause a problem. (I have not tested this, just thinking out loud.)

I don't believe there is anything close enough to the cieling to cause a problem. That was one of the first things I thought. BUT, when I moved something (I was experimenting I couldn't tell you what I did), several items glitched either floating or in my cieling. I'm wondering if there's a problem with void items causing this.

ok so the room you are trying to place it on top of- pick it up in your inventory then place it down again so you are sure nothing is inside (sometimes things glitch inside of them) and then try to place the other one from your inventory

So it's not a perfect theory, but one of the things I noticed when I floated a house is that the underside is empty... But when you stack them, basically the underside of the floor is what comes into contact with the ceiling of the house before, and that stone foundation part goes away. So I was thinking that maybe that zone which is under the floor is the part that doesn't want anything in it on the house below.

OHHHH is that why sometimes when I've tried to glitch flooring down, and it looks normal, it wants me to "pick up [pattern name?!]"

I have a room that has this in it (and nothing else)... and I am unable to stack another room on top of it. But when I removed those builders pillars and walls, it stacked just fine.

I did take an empty room and put a crate up near the ceiling (pretty much touching the ceiling) and I was still able to stack on top of it, though. So it is probably certain items (pillars or walls definitely, since that was what seemed to be in the way on mine).

I have stuff inside walls, and I have had things disappear under floors, too. So any of those things could be blocking, too.

Literally anything touching it or too close to it can cause it. The best approach is to figure out ur layout with the base rooms before doing ANYTHING on ur plot. So no decorating of any kind near it/on it/etc.

One more thing... is there any chance it's the other room? Could there be something under the floor but attached to the other room that you are trying to put on top?

I don't think that necessarily means they're super far away. there are items that require you to stand at very funny angles in order to pick them up. I think they are probably near, but not grabbable.

Like the books I mentioned yeeted somewhere out into the cliffs on the base plot, past the gate, so idk where they are and can't see them, or the overhang I flicked on a new house piece that pulled from my inv. but instead of placing on the snap point, yeeted so far down that u can't even see it when u look under ur plot, but they never end up in the lamp zone. Which they should bc they are far past the point where they should un-anchor

Yep, the books I was trying to place on the edge of a plate and I clicked so fast they went rlly far out of bounds and not on the plate.

And the lamp zone is where any un anchored items end up, like crafters that u sit on builder's pieces etc. (right next to ur entrance, left hand side when u come in)

I have done this into an Appletree for aestetics, and got lucky when I strung a light through it overlapping that pillar. Its only noticable if the tree trunk is a seedling as it regrows. Mushrooms on trees would be a wonderful decor piece! ❤️

I've started working on a new kitchen design, now that the bones are there the REAL decorating can start And I'm so stoked the oven idea ended up working out! I had to float them anchored to builders crates outside the house, but that ended up being a lot easier than I thought thank god

1. place the pillar where you want its final position to be (relative to where you want the floating item to be)

has anyone had issues with placing bushes from the latest floral update into pots around the house? one of my bushes is stuck in the pot so I can't pick it up nor the pot without picking up the flower 🙁 I know there's issues with the bushes resetting to prior growth stages, which this is also doing, but I haven't seen this error before

You shouldn't be able to pick up the flower pot (into ur inv) without first removing the flowers inside it. The flower, a second one u had in there I'm assuming? May be hard to pick up bc it is either registering that you are trying to pick up the pot, bc you need to get the right angle in order for the bushes/flowers inside to turn green

The second plant inside the pot may be getting in the way when u try to pick up the other one as well, u just have to angle ur camera

Ok, first the item where you place the terrace is its anchor, you are floating the terrace from this anchor therefore you cannot remove it, you move the anchor piece to move the floated terrace and hide the anchor

but Im trying to float some lamps and such using the wall + shelf + paver method by cancellation, and for some reason it has locked 2 of my chests (from the 4 that are stacked) so whenever I move the paver to move the lamps, also the chests move and I cant remove the chests..

The floors need to not be connected to other floors, you can point away from previous floors when placing, OR place without grid, OR take a floor, place it somewhere else, put a paver on top and group select from the paver, this let you use the grid but won't connect to other floors

Nope. The camping fence and the log cabin fence behave differently, I think. I can get the fence on top of the terrace using a spring fever edging piece and multiselecting. But then when I try to multiselect by the fence, it lights up the crate but I can't move it. It only gives me the option to pick up the fence. stupid fence.

okay, so when u are placing on the plate, just before that moment u need to cancel the shelf down in same line - then if u imagine plate being where it was before, the shelf will sit lower after u put it on it (bc it was canceled below the boat sat lower, but as canceled - the anchor will snap back up)

So... between the step of pALT+plate/carry boat... I need to insert a step... of cancel-placing the shelf LOWER than it actually is... so when I place the boat ontop of the plate... it will snap itself into place and bury the plate?

Let me explain: place the bowl on top of the terrace, press Alt while you click the bowl (and it should select everything), and then place the terrace on top of the blue tables.

But with lots of cancel placement, I succeeded in getting the dining room and kitchen up "on the hill." Also, so everyone who wants to float cottages knows... if you are using the method where you snap a room to the corner of your stacked rooms and alt select to just pick up the upper floor, five rooms at once does not seem to work. But you can do one at a time and they snap together in the air so they are all connected!

I finally started learning how to glitch furniture and was super excited to make a third floor with a gate/fence around the opening with the flick method, but they keep resetting to my plot entrance every time I leave my plot. Did they patch that? I'm gonna have to tear down the entire third floor and redesign it if they did... tell me they didn't lol

Not 💯 sure it'll work but you can try this:

• place your shelf where you want
• place a pillar or crate on it
• group select from it to be able to place shelf on ground outside but cancel place it instead
• once the shelf is canceled on the ground place another pillar/crate near it and group select from the new item, place it in the same spot without moving, the shelf should jump back to the wall but is now anchored to the ground
  Place your chest on it

When multiselecting by fence, you put it on the ground but where it connects to the fence that's on the ground
