Try removing that alchemist log right of the entrance. Make sure no ivy on any wall near it, even if it doesnt seem that close to the room you're trying to place

Also prob not but.. to be sure, try removing that cobweb on the right that seems close. Dont think thats the issue.. but theyre tall so eh

hi!!! so it wasnt anything that was picture that was th problem, the problem was the decor in my base floor room, although it didnt look like it would cause the 'something is in the way' it in fact did. so i removed eveyrhting that was even close to the ceiling, after i put all that up i was able to place! but was able to replace evrything hopw it was before i removed them with no issues:)

Cancellation is when you have a placeable item in your inventory (I.e, #1 on keyboard) and you pick it up, and instead of left-clicking to place, you hit #1 instead to "place" it out of the wayuntil the plot reloads.

Every time i start a new plot I have the same problem. How do I want to lay it out? The last one I did I decided to do a farm theme and started with a barn in the corner. That way I wasn't committing to the whole thing at the beginning. Maybe you could try the same. Start in a corner and do it bit by bit.

Hold the mouse button

The door can attach to it fine currently, for some reason the porch is being onery.

Just checking that you don't have a door there. The porch comes with a door, so if you already have a door, you have to remove it first.

Id be happy to show you how to terraform, its really not complicated! I use mainly 3 glitches when I do it myself on my home plot and once you have these three you can do virtually anything
Flicking, cancelation, and alt select. But for others plots its a bit more limited since I can only alt select, and set up rigs for you 🙂

For that u need floors in ur inventory. place a floor somewhere near u on the ground, then take it and move it where it should be. Important is, that it says „there’s smth in the way“ otherwise it won’t work.
If u got the spot, press the key where ur floors are in inv and left mouse click fast at the same time. Timing can be tricky tho :> if u got it, do it with the other side too. U can pick the floor u used for it up after it.

You put your wall on a shelf, move the shelf a small square down (or two ticks it you count that way), cancel the shelf placement. Put your upper wall on top as you would and move the shelf to activate the merging @potent gust

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by a "flatter area" but the largest terrace is exactly the same height as the base of the cottage. So if you put one under your cottage (using cancel placement), you will have a perfectly flat surface from the grass outside to the floor inside (with just that little wood frame at the opening).

I have had this happen when my walls were not all oriented in the same direction--it's easy to see with the wood ones since they have that diagonal, but I wonder if the same thing happens with iron and you just can't tell it's not oriented in the same direction.

You can't connect them at all. The harvest house or the grand harvest house are the start of a building, and you can only add rooms to those. There is no way to connect another house to the rooms. The connecting of rooms is one-directional, so you can't connect back to a house.

yeah :) so let me try to rephrase it.. sometimes when you cancel place item A, away from its anchor, item A still goes in the way of other stuff on your plot. so thats why, when you cancel place the item A, you need to do it far enough, or sometimes higher, so this doesnt happen. because it will still follow the anchor

you can test this by just having an item on a table or a surface, then cancel place away the item. and when you move the table/surface, you'll see the item will follow, and if this item is in a wall or tree or idk, you wont be able to put down the table
