It works with Spring Fever Rock Edging and Wood Edging but not with the tall fences. From what I noticed the Edging has a little mouse icon that says "Move" when you hover to select it and the tall fences don't have that option.

Could someone help me with the alchemist cottage build? I'm trying to add a second story to a base room. Does the second story need to be an alchemist cottage room or can it be a regular harvest house room? I know to remove the roof in order to stack on top, but when i try to add another alchemist cottage room to make a second floor it doesn't work!

Yes, it has to be an alchemist cottage. The bottom building is not allowed to have roof Addons (chimney, Ivy etc). So check for those (normal roofing is no problem).
Then you can stack the second one easily on top of the bottom one.

Pro tip: you can try placing 2 post apart, then placing fence in between them, then moving just the section in between, then repeat
It's time consuming but you get similar as what you have there but without the wide posts

When you first start it do it on the ground then with a mug stack it ontop of a stool or table to lift it off the ground then put on the wheels the paltech pipe and vents make up the extra bits

My platform looks really weird without a trim, but, I want to dye my roofs green, but, they also look weird with two red strips... :< I tried moving them to the other roofs, dying them there, and moving them back, but they went straight back red, and I can't directly dye them, either. Not sure what to do?

this is a known issue unfortunately.
for your side roof though, you might have to change that flat roof to a normal one temporarily to apply wallpaper to the trim

All you have to do is make your shape, without attaching the floor pieces, cancel place them all on top of one, then multi-select and slide them into place. When you place, it will snap the floor pieces back to where they were, but under the bin

Flicking is only possible on pc, but it is very similar to cancel placement. You hold an item that has already been placed into the world, and then stand in the way so it gives you "something is in the way" then hold in ur left moouse button and hit the number key ur overhang is in, and it will place that instead of what u r holding. What you were holding will jump back to where it was sitting

So for your roof, you can use a piece that will sit on that snap point, but turns red and just do the steps

Nah i mean like after the update i was no longer able to place anything ontop of my underground wooden floor as it seems they either added an unintended collision that blocks it or reduced the distance needed to place something on top.

Or they did it on purpose and as usual wont comment on it 😂 but my plot that took me several months to build due to learning techniques that are for pc and then actually implementing them and finding ways to make it work on ps is now half finished and i struggle to find enjoyment in stuff that cancels my work out. Autism 😂 lose my mind when i cant complete a task i started. Thanks Palia for the frustration and overwhelming agitation brought by this inconvenience 😂

Yeah there's a ton of glitches you can do though. Float items, sink items (to hide parts), merging items, flipping them all kinds of ways, building out of bounds (or out of plot), building over plot limit, etc

If you turn the grid off, you can sink the plate into the book, so you don't see it and it is flush with the surface it sits on. You just want the plate bottom barely poking out of the backside of the book.

You can play around with it you can get it to not float! Also you can angle books using the same method. I have books lying around that are almost flat but look like they are leaning on another flat book.

If you fish in Kilima Pond, no bait, you can get about 4 makeshift chests before ur rod needs repaired, sometimes more depending on ur luck

The Ashura bag with the mushroom caps? Those are a little bigger than the potato pod ones. And they are animated. The bag dimmensions itself I do not know, but have seen folks layer it into Spring Fever Chimera pot + Fever Fire Pit, to make it look like a cauldron. The mushrooms stick out perfectly in height over the Chimera.

You're just making the shape/size floor you want without connecting the pieces, then cancel placing them all in a stack , multi-selecting that stack by the bottom piece, counting how many squares you need to move and placing. They snap back to the shape u made them, but move under the bin.

Its still working 😄 are you on pc? If so, try pulling the item into your arm rather than the center of your body
Hold the mouse once its one small square into saying 'something is in the way'
Hold the hotkey of another item
Release they mouse and hotkey at the same time

This has been doing it more reliably for me than trying to click them at the same time!

Take the top pillar and cancel it away, put down the bottom pillar where you want and the rest will snap in place

The method where you move an item and don't actually put it down but just take another item out of your hotbar

You just take the top piece, move it out of the way (best is always to leave it outside so you're certain it won't collide with anything) and cancel its placement. The whole build will stay attached but your ceiling won't collide with your house anymore and you will be able to put down your pillar exactly where you want to, the rest will snap back on top once your bottom pillar is placed down

I only take your top pillar with the floors to cancel far away on your plot, so you still have the bottom one to place And I have a kitsuu plush in my hotbar to cancel (but really doesn't matter the item as long as its one you can put down on your plot)

I took a looong break from the game in February, and now that im back I cant believe just how much stuff has been added to the game.

i agree :x one thing i've been doing with alchemist houses is temporarly put stairs so i can access the attic. elevate the chandelier with a stool or pavers so it hangs higher once i remove the stairs. i do it with flicking, but you could do it with cancel placement or using the temp hole the stairs create

not sure it'll fix it with this chandelier specifically, but it has been helpful especially with the elderwood chandelier to get that pink light without the lamp itself that dont really work everywhere

every time i try to place down the white ,brown or raven faces, they place into the opposite position of where I want them to go, so like right now i lost about 80 fences because they teleported somewhere around my plot, sometimes they place down properly and sometimes when i place it down straight it goes off to the right side if i place them down on the left they go down another way etc, it is like i need to mess with what direction is best for what i think they will go @feral cape it is super frustrating, it may force me to use the elder wood fences until they fix this trickery

first thing to note tho - fences are mostly hard-bound to grid, this will lock your direction but it does not explain vanishing parts tho

multiple sessions every time i play and try again it is the same thing i cannot use fences, i got lucky with some where they happened to teleport to a spot where i am good with but if i want it to make it go a way i want they go somewhere else. @feral cape

i never had this problem before, it shows they yellow that its good to place and the grid underneath is white but they just teleport where they want to go instead of where i want them to go. I have played this game for almost 2 years and i never had this problem until i came back to the game from not playing for a few months @feral cape

They caused issues with builders floors if your using builders floors under ground to get stuff out of plot.

They have not commented it was intended or not as always a aire mystery and no real answers

If you mean angling it, that's called rotational floating/sinking. If you mean just getting it to face a diff. way, then all u have to do is turn it and place it before cancel placing it.

Gotcha. that's a floor only item, so that would require an anchor to do that, since when it's flicked, etc. it stays facing a cardinal direction. Do you play on pc or on a console?
