Yeah, it won’t work. Rooms only connect in one direction, in a sense. The unconnected end of a hallway can have something attached to it, like another room, but it can’t be attached to something like a house. Only one end of the hallway can attach to a house.

if you have a hotkey for selecting items (i use V), you can open your camera, turn decorating mode on, zoom in on the object and select, then you close the camera and can move it freely

It's both fun and infuriating! You bounce and fly around trying to get floating flowers. I'm terrible at it (that's the infuriating part), but it's fun! You can get a bunch of different plants there that you can't get anywhere else. It starts at 10 pm, but it's best to get there before that. Look for the two giant trees that are glowing at the top.

Were you ever able to load that crazy Octo plot? I was not (on my Mac, which I'm thinking might have similar limits to Switch). I was able to load Ise Mariya's castle, though, with no problem.

in this case it was A LOT of cancelation method. i recommend checking on youtube for tutorials.
it basically allowed me to borrow space, to merge stuff together, like the elderwood rugs overlapping or the yardwork stone pillars.

on the pictures, you can see its kinda messy but i basically stacked stuff to have different the builder's floors at the right height. to have the bouncy shroom's top coming out just not too much on top of the rugs. i found the perfect height of the shrooms coming out for me was, a stool, 3 butcher blocks and a desert plate x)

the circle around are yardwork stone pillars. again cancelation method, and i took screenshots to help me see where to place stuff. it isnt a perfect circle, because 1: couldnt be bothered lol, but also bc im making a town, it would make sense that a fountain made by locals isnt necessary a perfect circle . compared to let's say a castle, it would have to be perfect. if you want to make sure its perfect you could help yourself by placing a round item in the center that you follow and count the squares. or just the bellflower fountain.

things that are flicked (method you can only do on pc): the elderwood chandelier on top of the pillar & the log cabin outdoor lamps. but if you use the log cabin standing lamps you can avoid using flicking.

one thing i didnt do bc i was figuring things out as i went, but recommend, is to make different parts separately and then bring them over. so you have less back & forth. like do the rugs on the builders floors, the circle of pillars w the shrooms in the middle, and then assemble. smth like that

You can cancel place your terrace somewhere, place the hedge, and then reload your plot. Cancel placement lets you overlap/merge things--it lets you move something out of the way so you can put something in the same place, and then when you reload, the thing you moved goes back to where it was. It's a really easy glitch, and it's SOOO helpful.

Hopefully the video helps! Basically to cancel place, you trick the game into letting you move something out of the way. Make sure you have a placeable item in your hotbar (it can be anything, a piece of decor, starred food, a plant, whatever). Pick up the item you want to move out of the way, move it somewhere where it can be placed but don't place it. Hit the number key for the placeable item in your hotbar instead. The item you moved will look like you placed it, but it's temporarily just out of the way. (And you can hit escape--you don't need to do anything with the placeable item you used from your hotbar). Put what you need to put wherever (except don't touch your cancelled item). Then reload your plot. The thing you cancelled will go back to where it was, and the other stuff you placed will still be there merged into it.

Yes, they have little numbers on them to tell you what stage of growth they are in. So when you pick them up, they will stay at the growth stage they are at. The fully grown ones have a little sun in the corner of the icon.

Like so... The 1 indicates just a seed and they go up to 4 (although the EW ones seem to go up to 6) and then you see the little sun when they are fully grown.

Or maybe that's supposed to be a flower, not a sun. 😂

If it has anything attached to the roof it will not let you. So like the little window PickelMommy used for the hobbit house? That can get in the way. So can ivy, chimneys, etc.

It's best to strip them all bare, get ur layout, then attach pieces

is anyone else having a problem with the hitbox for the spooky floating candles object (not the singular candle)? i was curious what it looked like so i placed one in a room of my house and now i can't pick it up. it's only happening inside - the one i tested outside was easily detected by my cursor and gave me to the prompt to pick it up with G like normal. inside, however, is not working. no matter how far or near i stand, what angle i approach at, how slowly i scan the camera over it, etc. the prompt to pick up the object never appears. i've tried coming at every individual candle from multiple angles, moved some objects nearby further away, and nothing is working

That happened to me where the prompt didn't appear but i clicked G anyway and picked it up. I haven't tried placing those candles since tho lol

I got kinda scared i wouldn't be able to pick them up, but if you line up your cursor really well with one of the candles it should work even without the green outline

This will make more sense once you watch the videos, but the one thing to realize is that you cannot sink things below the surface and still place on them anymore. Your terrace either has to be poking through the ground, or you have place everything on it first, then sink it out of bounds.

But if you want it above ground anyway, you will be fine!

There is! The easiest way, without any glitching at all, is to connect builders floors and just push them out of bounds--there just needs to be one in bounds.

You can also group the floors together without connecting them, then use group select to push them out of bounds. If they aren't actually connected, you can remove the ones that are in bounds and just leave the ones you pushed out of bounds out there. (I don't know how much you've done with floors, but they snap together, and yet they can snap together without actually being connected. When they are connected, they will all get picked up together when you pick up the first one. If they aren't connected, you can still pick them all up by using the alt key to group select.)

So cancelation glitch is moving an item to a temporary spot by clicking the hotkey of another item instead of clicking the mouse to place

So build your floors however you want them done while in bounds, and leave atleast 1 part that will stay in bounds after.

Pick up the builders floors that will be out of bounds and walk to an empty location on the plot, make sure theyre outlined by green!!!! Very important!!
And instead of placing with your mouse, click a hotkey button for another decor item and you can cancel click out of the hotkey item.

Lastly, move the part that stays in bounds on the edge of inbounds where you'll want the floors to be
(It will move all of the pieces you just cancelation glitched too so if its outlined in red they're colliding with something, just re cancel them to a more empty location)

Then you just have to go into H mode, load the free plot it gives you at the top middle of the screen, load back, and the floors should be there for you!!!

This discussion got me to try this again. I had failed to build out of bounds on my last try, or rather I did a little but only by stacking which looked bad. Just tried it again and it works and was so easy I'm kicking myself I didn't stick with it before -.-

Simply place a single block exactly at the edge of the boundary, then place/attach further blocks to the face that is facing the outside of the boundary. Not sure if this works with anything other than the builders items, but once placed, you can then place most items on top of the blocks (or slabs) like normal.

One issue with your image there is that I don't think you can slide anything under the sell box itself, you have to build around the sides of it and then across the front if you want.

It usually shows the grass when your floors are linked to each others, try putting it on the floor and not linked to another piece If still doesn't work, double the floors or put a rug underneath

That might be because of the landscape decor, those sort of branches... You could try to force it there with cancellation and multiselect tho Put it as close as possible to where you want it, then pick it up again and move it to an empty spot (don't put it down, only cancel its placement), take a pillar and put it on your paver, then take another pillar and put it in front of the other one. Multiselect from the pillar on the ground (not the one on the paver) and move it the number of steps away it was needed for the build to get in the water

Theres a few ways you can do it, but the easiest way to hang them on the wall at the moment is to add a spiral spider web on top, and group select from the spider web. It will then go straight on the wall! You can then remove the spider webs

Shelves are really easy, it's just multiselecting an item on the shelf and the shelf will get its properties, simply stack them up and you're good (Just like Ery, I use a pillar for that personally)

It actually didn't take any glitching except for the front and the very top. If you put a rug on top of a pillar and select by the rug, you can ignore collision with them to get them close together, and then just use a pillar to sit them on top of each other

Sometimes this happens when you add a new room. You need to go back in H and turn off the door and turn it back on

1. u take a pillar or anything else and put it next to the spot where the paver should be later when placed
2. u place the paver somewhere else and cancel everything else away from it so u just got the paver in front of u
3. after cancelling everything out of the way, u take the paver and move it to the spot u marked before in step 1 (so it has the right postion)
4. the cancelled stuff will jump back

if position isnt right, just cancel everything away again and move the paver according to that

u can have 30 add-ons on ur plot but u can only connect 15 to a house, so u could have 2 houses with each 14 rooms. It doesnt matter which rooms tho, they take all 1 slot.

In that case it may be because of the distance, if you float anything more than 12 small crates away from the anchor it will teleport to the entrance when you reload the plot

Stations when they're elevated on builders items tp away everytime... Your anchor needs to touch the ground (actual ground of your plot)

My best idea would be to float your stove onto a crate and hide the crate inside your house's floor with glitches

I would change the stone for wooden crates, or better yet floor cabinets (would require glitching for the cabinets tho) Another idea would be to use cancellation to half-hide the copper chest into the stone crates, giving a bit of texture and utility to the build

For the most part things stay. Sometimes something will get “fixed” so we can’t do it anymore but the things you did before don’t change. (You just might not be able to recreate something with the same method in the future.)

Yeah, ghosting room pieces is not possible anymore but you can still find plots where people did that. That went away not long after I started playing so I never got to do it.
