flicking on floor works as long as the floor is over the plot edge. otherwise i would function like a rug and the log would just stay on ground. then u just need to sink the floor a bit, cancel it away and move it inside the house

no experience here with flicking (I play on console) but I've read that it's behaving somewhat different since the update.
In any case if you cannot reach them underneath, try placing a chair in a shelf, turn it upside down so it's under and sit, you now can hopefully see and reach for them

hey yall! new to the game and the server, and just had a question about the furniture making skill
so for reasons ill get into later, the entire furniture making guild shop is completely inaccessible to me in my run (not a bug, a choice) so i wanted to know if there was any other way to get access to things like the fabric loom or glass kiln without it?

This took me FOREVER, because the pieces just don't want to play nice (like seriously, one side behaves completely different from the other, so getting it symmetric was nightmarish). And how many more of these do I have to build? 😬

I'm confused as to why it's inaccessible? The loom and the glass kiln unlock at level 2 or 3 (really early in furniture making), so they are not truly part of the guild store, because you don't get into the guild until you reach level 10. But I don't think there's any other way to get them except through the store you access by talking to Tish.

the LONG version is im doing a bit with my friends where i refuse to "talk to tish on your plot" in the "happy home, happy life" quest, and i assumed that it was there she introduced the furniture making guild, making it completely inaccessible to me. i had unfortunately, never tried just making furniture and levelling it up since lmao. it seems the happy home happy life quest is.. entirely unneccasary so this wont hinder my run at all i guess!

Yeah, it's called that but there are guild items and there are regular items. The guild items cost medals and you don't start earning medals until level 10, while the regular stuff just costs gold. And in the game, they don't even really talk about the guild until you reach level 10.

with alchemist housing, you can have 2 rooms stacked. maybe you still have some roof trims, or windows or ivy that get in the way?

essentially the 3 types are just, the base room which is always the same, and then the two other variants have different addons (ivy, windows etc). hopefully they make us able to buy those addons separately... but for now thats how it is, buying the base room with nothing on it is kinda useless bc you always run out of housing addons but not really the base room itself

you can remove the addons from A or B, and essentially if you remove everything you have a baseroom with addons in your inventory that you can play with

Just wanted to come back and say thanks so much for the help! For anyone else wanting to do this, what I ended up doing was creating a stack of crates on the ground, flicking the terrace on top, then using the pushing method to reposition it horizontally so that it clipped into the hilly parts.

Sure, since the bridge won't go on the post by itself, you can use group select from something placed on the bridge to change or extend its properties, meaning if you place a crate on the bridge and group select from the crate, the bridge now behaves like a crate, allowing it to be placed wherever a crate can be placed, same principle is what allows to use a smaller item or ones with less collision to merge furniture

Will this house behave pretty normally in terms of things placed inside? Does it actually think it's on the ground? (I placed the terraces underneath the floating house, which I floated using the corner snapping method.) I have left and come back from Kilima, and the tree has stayed on top, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's anything else that could act weirdly and disappear into the void if I place it on or inside the house...

You know what they should add though that i doubt they ever will…. Anyone played age of empires on pc in 1990s will remember this but the ability to sink and raise the floor, not stupid amounts but a fee feet down and a few feet more up so we create natural looking hills and lifts with drops into real water effects for ponds. Where you do steep ground elevations the grass elements on the drop switch to like mud or rock . Would be awesome for creativity and adding realistic elements to the plots

It's so easy! I had to move a bunch of stuff around, because you need at least three cottages to do it, but since I'm basically mostly starting over on this plot with this new idea... oh well. I'm going to have to buy a lot of extra cottages though, and I'm wondering how many you can float together... If only 10 can be connected, can I float five connected? Or can I only float 4 because that one snapping to the corner is considered connected? I guess I'll find out!

Yes, storage chest as well as crafters and cooking appliances, they cannot have something in between them and house floors, if you want to have them onto something then you have to give them a connection to ground thru other things that are not part of the house

If you anchor them together in strips like I showed you for the flat walls, you can extend that as far as you like without the need to add more wall/floor pieces

Oh I did! This is a short one for between the entry hall and the parlor. But I didn't use any wall/floor pieces except on the bottom because I wanted to use fewer pieces overall. So I did "chains" of two tables for each flat segment, and then they are all chained to each other by rotating and then placing the next pair of two. The problem is that weirdly, you can move the thing the same number of squares down and left or right on either side, and they still don't end up symmetric. Nowhere near symmetric. So I had to eyeball where to cancel place the entire unit each time and use a lot of free movement to get it looking good.

I did that first. I made this thing three or four times. 😆 First time was with walls, which I assembled standing up and then turned on their side, but then I thought, why not just use floors, because I need to place the tables on the floors anyway, and that would cut in half the number of floors or walls I was using. And then I realized that I could eliminate the floors completely if I just put the tables on each other. It was tedious, but the entire piece is just 28 items, while the other way was going to be like 56.

I'm not sure I understand. Would the tracing line just be to help position? Or is it part of the structure? Because I only used two floor pieces and no wall pieces. The nice thing is that it's all "on" those two merged floor pieces, so it's easy to move around and to cancel parts away to move it where I need it. I was having a lot of trouble with the walls because they weren't actually connecting and then group select would take other stuff with it.

Here's a picture where you can see the entire structure. (Yes, I did the flat sides on either side a little differently so it doesn't look symmetric on the outside, but you can't tell from the visible inside which will be all you can see in the final thing.)

It was definitely easier when the tables were all actually on floors, because I was able to place the floors pretty quickly with the tables on them, but it was a lot of extra pieces, especially when I decided to use the tables for the bottom half as well (the color of the wood is nicer). So I opted for trickier but fewer pieces! Also I hope you feel better soon!

All you do is make the wall shape, but anchor them together instead of using multi-select, then turn it to the next wall on it's side, cancel place the floor piece onto the next one and add ur tables

Once you are done, you can remove all the other wall pieces from the one you started on -

I'll take a pic of how I anchored the walls together for u one sec

Start with your shape (mine is a tiny version) and then add a wall on the top. This will be what you set your walls on before cancel placing so they sit lvl with each other. Add a wall on top of that wall, then pick it up and cancel place it onto the next one below. Add a wall on top of that one, pick up and place and they are anchored together. Do this all the way around till you get back to the beginning. You can also just do it like this, but you have to know how many to turn the wall by on top of the cancel placed one.

From here you just place it on a shelf to turn it sideways, add your floor piece to the first wall, and you can start adding your pieces. Take the walls off the shelf and turn to the next one so it sits lvl and cancel place the floor piece onto it, cancel place the tables you had on there off, and add the next strip. So everything will be attached to the floor piece on the wall.

The only way I can think of to do this, is to put a hallway on either side of each GHH, and then use 2 person placement in order to merge the hallway doors into each other

You could also use the Kilima doors as well, if u want shorter spacing between, but you have to merge the GHH's together so the doors merge

Yeah I think that will work better…. I was bummed to realize there would be no front door. Yeah, being able to move them around will also be easier. I was also dreading getting the outside things like the tunnels into the right place since I won't be able to move the houses--on the ground I can mark where the house goes on the grid, so when I put the house back after cancelling a terrace away, it goes in the right place. Not so in the air...

• I just found a way to float multiple alchemist houses with just one red present, they dont move as easily though one sec Ill send pics of what I did. It stayed when I reset the plot too

Oh okay, so if you put a second story on the alchemist house thats placed on a red present where you want the second story to float, if you select the red present it only moves the bottom floor leaving the top floating where it is still able to be edited. I dont think you can move the second story one from that point, but this changes my whole idea

This is correct and the 2nd floor becomes base again (with foundation), also I've heard that if you space the presents just right you can place multiple houses together and they can behave as linked together

You have to buy A to unlock the rest. None of the old things like hallways and chimneys and porches will attach without glitching. They only attach to each other. Also, both A and B are base rooms with add-ons like windows, ivy, dormers, chimneys. The base room is just a box, so it's not worth buying because you don't even get windows.

S6 themselves said to buy base rooms, and people did that and then were upset that there was no way to get windows and stuff for those base rooms other than buying another cottage.)

They all connect to each other, so you get rooms--they snap to each side and to the top, so you can have the linked in one story or you can have upstairs rooms. And you can choose whether there are walls between those rooms to make the rooms bigger.

TBH I think I'd be happier to see walls (partitions) as the next feature in the Socket series, but you drag/place it just like the chimney pieces... so then it's it's own wall and you can maybe have a bookcase shelving drop or something on it. Cheaper to make certain panneling illusions. 😄

I think this looks really pretty. But the new flowering bushes from the bloom event come in yellow and orange and red, and they are bigger. You could mix some forsithia in, too--it's yellow.

This is just a small area around my garden, but these are almost all the flowers we had before the flower event was added. So many of the flowers in the game are pink or purple (or close to those colors), but I think the yellow forsithia pop enough to make it seem less just pink and purple...

So my quest to be able to type a simple accent mark in Palia... French keyboard did not work. Switching language of the game to French did not work. What I do is to change my keyboard settings to English (international), that keeps the layout but allows you to use accents.
Very useful in a country that imports English keyboards but talks Spanish (or I'm lazy and already memorized the layout because the Spanish one is different)

the sad thing is that the bouding boxes of fish tanks makes the item inside not selectable (some times not, randomly)

that's the one I reversed everywhere

placed one on the wall then used a stone pillar to group select placed it on the ground took that pillar off placed it on another shelf on the wall and just did a repeat till i got the height and then group selected them all and moved them to their location

Thank you! Im on pc, so I used the flick glitch. However if youre on console or dont feel like it, you can put a pillar on small yardwork terraforms and alt select them, putting them on the roof. That then allows you to freely place outdoor items up there!

I've managed once before when using wallpaper on the floor, but never done it with furniture 😅

If its any consolation it takes me anywhere between 1-20 tries still, however there are a few of things Ive found help,

Stand straight with the grid, don't stand at an angle

With furniture you want to stand in the center of where you want the item, you can get a feel of where to stand by holding the item and looking down

Using smaller items like builders pillars, starred food, gourmet bowls, helps a lot ive found

You want to only go one small sqaure into the red zone on your body where it says 'something is in the way'

Only press the hotkey for the button you want to place once, and rapidly click with your mouse a few times, I cancel click out of that incase I accidentally pick anything up

It might sound like a lot, but its really just about lining it up, and clicking your mouse and hotkey at the same time

It gets easier and more intuitive as you do it
