hi everyone!! sorry idk if this is the right channel for this, but i just learned something that blew my mind 🤯 and i thought i'd share... turns out, you can flip/mirror the windows in the alchemist housing set by grabbing them from one particular angle!! screenshots attached; you cant see it too well coz of the door, but you can kinda see the two windows are the exact same angle, so it doesnt look super nice?? grabbing the window from the inside doesnt do anything, but i went outside and grabbed it... and it automatically flipped!!! this may be common knowledge but i had NO idea LOL, so hopefully this can help some people out!! 🫶 🫶

The barrel isn't being abled to be picked up. I've tried multiple ways to remove it but it is still not allowing me. I can pick up the stone under it, but that is it. Is anyone else having this issue? I've also made a ticket but unfortunately it is labeled as a bug so I did not get a response. Yes i have reset my game and moved plots. This has been an issue for me since the most recent update came out.

Playing with camera angles and not pointing directly may help

If you just want to move it, you can place something like a bowl on top and then group select (alt key on PC) by the bowl and it will pick up the barrel, too. This is how I've been moving mine around. Once it's outside with nothing around it, you can usually find the magic spot that allows you to pick it up (it's way down low, like under/in front of the barrel), but when it's near anything else, it's impossible to find!

You cannot connect the old rooms (including hallways) with the alchemist cottages. They only connect to each other.

New housing line is completely different from the old housing line.

Yeah, unfortunately, there's not much that really explains that. I imagine it's especially confusing for new people, because it would seem that houses should just connect.

The alchemist line is just cottage A, cottage B, the base room, and the stairs. All the other stuff goes with the old house line. Also, just so you know "cottage A" and "cottage B" are just base rooms with stuff added on (like ivy, chimney, windows, dormers, roof trim). There's no other way to get those add-ons, so there's really not much point in buying a base room--it's kind of just a box with a door and a roof.

I am struggling to get my alchemist cottages to stick together properly. It worked the first time then I decided to move them on my plot. There’s extra trim inside that wasn’t there and it won’t let me place my staircase. It looks like they are overlapping somehow? Anyone else having these issues?

Place it at another place where you can place it first, then put a builders block on it, mark the builders block and use "mark all". Then you can move the stairs and place it where ever you want

On the ceiling? Yes, you put together all the floor pieces you want and put flowers on them. Then you put something like another floor piece, a pillar, or a builders block on a shelf. Rotate the shelf upside down, and then attach your big floor of flowers. When you pick up the upside down pillar/block from the shelf, it flips back right side up, but your big floor of flowers turns upside down so the flowers hang down. You have to have that anchor piece on the shelf (pillar, block) in order to flip it and that piece does have to stay attached to the flower ceiling/floor piece. If you take your big floor of flowers off the pillar or block, it will flip back over so the flowers are pointing up. (I'm sure there are youtube videos out there that show how to do this, too, in case my explanation isn't clear.)

@novel kelp I posted this earlier just to help someone figure out how to attach a floor to a pillar #🏡│decor message, but the set up is what you want to use. The pillar is on the shelf, and then flipped upside down. Then the floor gets attached to the pillar rightside up (if there were flowers on my floor in this picture, they would be on top). A builders block or wall or floor are often easier to try to get the floor to attach to, though--the pillars are super finicky.

Hmmmm. I guess I would always place the hallway as coming from the HH room over there to the arboretum area which will make it easier to swap between them until I make a decision

Nah i was build special "stairs" with the bowls, use the auto-clip-in option.

I was made the pics to remember how build those stairs for another plot, and remove it. But then checked, they remove the trick.

I wanted to rebuild my entrace hall on a new plot.

So i was remove everything from the first plot - then checked - some tricks aren't available anymore. Bleh.

There was a reason for doing that. If you're new, your first plot has those stones, trees and clutterings what dont count in the limit.
On my first plot i have in the front area still 5 of those trees and i will never cut them down.

Sadly they don't fit into the new farm landscape, i was bought. So i decided, instead of swap the landscape, ill rebuild.

or pick up the stove in the way, move it to a valid spot, but instead of clicking the mouse press a hotkey for another placeable item (I usually just use my food on 1 for me) and the object will look/act like it's been moved. Place your cabinet as desired. Reload plot, stove blips back to where it was before your "cancel placement"

Pretty much had to pause the terrain piece investments until i suss up the core structure that everything needs to be built around

but my silly butt got a design vision in mind once I learned ghosting and cutting (w HH) and floating (w cottage) and have been committed to investing all of the cash and sweat equity necessary to achieve it ever since

Despite the fact that mathing out arrangements of HH units across 3 different plots to get everything perfect on the main plot literally brings me to nearly vomitting now that I'm trying to math it all out

This was either done with ghosting or 2 person placement. Ghosting is no longer possible, but 2 person placement is.

You can try placing 2 or 3 pillars side by side
Otherwise you can place a wall on a turned floor and it remains flush

You can use more than just a bowl for the 1 cup method. You can also use builder's pieces, so you can still move the shelf around on the wall

cup glitch! put a cup (any cup works) on one of the far sides of the top of one of the boxes, then hold down alt and put your cursor over the cup rather than the box, which will select the cup and the box as a group. you can now glitch thingies into each other! voila!

I checked on the fence count, the "classic" ones count 1 towards the limit for every 10 pieces of fence, which is 10 small grid squares, or per 1 big fence post or section. All this when placing continuous
The umbraan fence is more efficient just because has longer sections, also is more versatile

I've been chatting to support off and on for the last month or two regarding the issue with certain connecting walls not being able to be wallpapered and decor put up on that we've been experiencing since forever that I've been passing test results to them for rofl. Hopefully they have truly finally identified the cause for it . Their last response on my support post had the following in there :

Our development team has already found the root cause for this issue, and they are planning to roll out a fix in an upcoming patch. I do the thing where I place a bunch of builder floors on the terrace, a block nearby, then group select from the block. Sometimes it keeps it centered on the block and I can then do the out of bounds thing, but like 70% of the time it centers my mouse on the terrace and I have to reset. Am I doing something wrong? Okay- you can look up tutorials for more detail but the gist is to have the thing you want to glitch (in this case fence) in your hotbar, take a small item, place it, go to move it where you want the glitched item, put your body in the way so it says something is in the way, hold down the left mouse, then hit the number for the item you want in your hot bar

All going well, it should place the first part of the fence and allow you to extend it normally

No, it's not normal at all. I flicked this onto the roof, and then left my plot by the exit and came back. This is what happens if you flick above 2-3 crates in height off the ground. They don't stay where you flicked them -

When you group select it centers on the lowest item, I know everything looks at the same level but there are micro variation in the ground level (it's not entirely flat), and this varies with the landscape too (the autumn one is infamous for having a depression somewhere)

I think they're restructuring their engine use... the screw up may've even came from them messing with the Killima banner which had a grid. Thus, breaking other curtains. The bellflower was an exception, so they must've made that one different.

You have to craft pieces for inspiration to get these. If you finished the bundles and the quest, then something from the Rancher series is in your crafting bench (I can't remember what you get first)--you'll have to craft until you earn the recipe for the barrel and the wagon.

Anyone know how to get the doors on the cottages to stop resetting on switch? Every time I add a new room on top, the bottom one resets the doorway preventing entrance unleas I remove the top one and redo the bottom door. Getting really annoying for the amount of gold I spent on the cottages.

I have 6 cottages on the base and was adding some to the top. When I do, the bottom ones reset the doorways preventing interior access. I cannot click on them to fix it without removing the upper cottages. Which just resets doors to being walls when I put them back. I cannoy access the bottom cottages without removing the top ones.

Question about flicking the alchemist cottage dormer window roof trim.... is there anyway to flick it ON to something? I can flick it "on" to a builder's piece but it doesn't actually attach to the builder's piece--I can then just remove the crate or pillar or whatever from under it (and it seems to be going "on" to that piece because it ends up at a different level in relation to the ground based on whether I use a pillar or a block). I'd like to be able to move it out of bounds and sink it, but I can't get it to actually attach to an anchor. Any ideas? (And no, I have no red presents... if I have to wait until the holidays, then that's okay--this build is going to take me a year at the rate I'm going--but I was just wondering if there was another solution.)

Friends can help you to decorate and build, but you have to place the items for them.

And the permission is needed for friends to help you watering trees and flowers.
And chop the flow trees, if you have many and wanna chop them down.
