Ur just flipping something upside down

The in between piece is what tripped me up with rotating stuff at first. There has to be that extra piece which is what orients the thing you want to flip. The problem is that in videos and pictures, you can't tell that the builder's pieces are even upside down becasue they look identical.

I think the reason Lila said to not use the pillar, is because it's a royal pain to get things to attach to them. Another floor, or a builders's block, or a wall all are much easier to put attach your ceiling to. But whatever you use has to stay behind, so a pillar is small in that respect, which is why a lot of people use them.

Take the ceiling off the shelf first. Turn your shelf rightside up. Put the in-between piece I was talking about on the shelf, but make sure it's not attached to the wall, just on the shelf. If you use a block or a floor, you might have to place it on the shelf from the side. Then when you have a unit that is shelf and some other builder piece that moves together, turn your shelf upside down. Only then, grab your ceiling again and attach it to the block or whatever you are using as the in-between piece on the shelf. Place your flowers. Then you only have to pick up the in-between piece off the shelf. Once that piece is no longer attached to the shelf, it reorients itself to rightside up, which in turn flips your ceiling over so the flowers are underneath. Then you can place that piece wherever you need it to be. You can also just put it down somehwere. As long as you always grab it by the in between piece it will stay upside down. if you try to grab any of the floor pieces, they will turn rightside up again. The in between piece is what forces the ceiling to stay upside down with the flowers hanging down.

You don't need to raise or lower it while it's on your shelf. Once it's done, you can just place the in between piece higher up where you want it.

Also, if you can't get the whole ceiling to attach to the in-between piece, then start fresh and rebuild your ceiling attached--add the first floor to the in-between piece, then keep adding floors until your ceiling is the size you want.

The floors with hanging flowers wont work without the in-between piece. Its the needed "anchor".

I managed to get things to go into circles they aren't supposed to today by flicking them.

The ivy seems to be different tho. I just moved it around on the house, and it will only snap to the flat edge of the roof. While flicking it onto the house will work, it may be more difficult to snap it to other items. I'd need to test it

You cant remove it. Its the anchor, its needed.

You can choose yourself what anchor you wanna use. A box, a pilar, a builders wall... whatever you want. I use always a pilar.

There’s only one main door to the outside on each cottage. If you haven’t used it yet here, just rotate your cottage until the original door side faces out. But there are no other doors other than that one.

Sadly the cottage stairs are not placeable on other grounds. I was try to put one in my big harvest villa as a stairs for a selfbuild roof-room.
Even with the place-trick or chancel trick, its not work.

You could just decide the location, map it out w it on it, then remove the gazebo, place all of the additions where they would need to be, and then once they're all in place just cancel-place them somewhere else and move the gazebo into its spot

That's what I did for these pieces since they all have collision and the gazebo collision box in no way is even close to its visual model

I did some trial and error to get it good enough this time, but when I am doing it for real in its final spot I can map it out actually so my placements are more accurate the first go

Put a wall on a shelf. Turn it sideways, then place a floor piece on it. If the piece floats, flip the wall to the other side. It should merge with it. Put ur table on top, then pick up by the wall. Hide the wall in the crates

They may have set theirs directly onto a crate tho, while it was on the ground and sank it in, then picked it all up with multi-select, but either way works

I finally started working on my bridge to connect two alchemist houses 😄
Instead of floating it, I alt selected a pillar and attached it to a few stacked pillars that Im hiding with trees, but it still needs some work and wayyy more alchemist houses to fit a proper crafter build in the second house.

That's the idea, but you can do it solo-mode actually

You make the anchor for your Gardener's placement and put it down. Then you pick it back up to cancel it away, in order to place your window A simple reload of your plot will tp your Gardener into your window

With two player mode, try it this way :

Take the gardener away and not in the window's place. Take both account, move the two object where you want and try placing them at the same time

On PC, cancellation is really easy You simply put down your stuff where you truly want it first, pick it up and move it out of the way (not placing it), hit one of the hotkey for you inventory bar where there's an item and it'll cancel the placement

Once it's cancelled away, you can put down your window and simply reload your plot (hopping plots or going to Kilima and back)

Yeah, that was me before ranching when I couldn't figure out how I wanted to decorate the 2 plots I was working on (a camping/retreat and a witchy cottage) beyond what I'd already put down. The only real glitch that doesn't work anymore is ghosting, but it's already been a while since it broke

Also, for new glitchers... Ghosting =/= Cancelation

It’s more a situation of a few items not working quite like they used to. The basic methods of glitching (cancel placement, floating, sinking, etc) all work fine. Curtains are bugged, but that’s something they are going to fix and has nothing to do with glitching.

Hi folks, quick question here...
I seem to be unable to stack my alchemy cottages even when the roof of the room on the bottom is removed and made to be flat.Are other people having a problem with this too or am I just super overlooking something? I've read around a little and some people are saying Base Rooms are meant to be on the bottom and Cottages are meant to be on the top, and i've read people say the opposite, i've already started decorating my first level so I can't tell what was once a Base Room and what was once a Cottage anyway, and they all read as Base Room now when pressing H (pc) to access the overhead menu for building. I get a "something is in the way" error. I've removed twisted columns that might've somehow been in the way/removed flooring cosmetics, etc, and i'll send in a support ticket if this is actually something that's not normal. It was recommended that I ask here too in Decor.

Hi everyone!! I would like some help/advice. I’m trying to recreate the same plot as the trailer one. Somehow I’m stuck on the second building (right behind the first main entrance). From my view I built the first forward one as Cottage B, then a base one behind - flatten the roof and then my problem starts, impossible to add either cottage B or A as a second floor behind the initial Cottage B. If I separate them and do that detached from it, I can - but then cannot add the two floors behind the cottage B.
I haven’t gotten further than that, so any ideas on what I’m doing wrong or how to perfectly recreate this are highly appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻☺️💕

PS, no staircase or ceiling items or anything, it’s all blank..

The lights were meant to be allowed on decks like that, so its bugged as of now. That was an intended deployment bit that failed... so you'll need to glitch the lights on by flicking.

This is how I lie books flat. It's a little finicky to find the exact distance to move the shelf down, but you can get it to lie flat and you can then move it around and rotate it on the surface how you want (although it can be tricky to find the plate again underneath once you've put the book down). #🏡│decor message

Have you removed the addons on that front cottage? If there is roof trim on that cottage, it's probably in the way for second cottage/room that you are stacking. Cottages and base rooms are identical once you remove the addons, so it shouldn't matter which is on the bottom or the top, but if there's stuff in the way, you won't be able to stack.

The easiest thing to do is to just turn that front cottage into one without a roof--all the add ons will come off and go into your inventory, and then you can put the roof back and add the extras back on as you wish.

It's very very picky--it's hard to find the exact spot to get it to light up. Just keep moving around until it lights up. If I remember correctly, it's way low down by your feet in front of the barrel.

Please help! My brain just cannot figure out rotating and sinking/floating at the same time. I canNOT get this table to go where I want it. All I'm trying to do is to flip a ranch house side table on its side, but no matter what I do it floats it too much or sinks it. I cannot figure out how to cancel place the paver so that the table goes where I want it. Which direction do I move the paver when I cancel it??!! (I'm starting out with the paver rotated on a shelf, so I've got the sideways part, it's the movement in space after that I cannot understand.)

You can do this with rotation, but you need an extra piece. The ramps (I'm assuming that's what you mean by the slanted bricks) don't have a placeable surface, and they don't even lie flat when you rotate them, but you can still place a builders floor on top of the rotated ramp. Then you can place the pavers on the floor. When you remove the ramp from the shelf, it goes back to it's regular orientation with the floor and pavers at an angle on top.

Just the firepit is attached to the paver, right? You can rotate the paver and move it so that your firepit is where you want it and the paver is more towards the wall where it will be easier to hide.

Okay, so everything is anchored to the paver, though. So you should be able to rotate the paver and everything will swing around it. You might have to play around to get the position right, because you probably also have to cancel that floor and firepit away, but you should be able to get the paver somewhere easier to hide.

I pick it all up and move it until it's where I want it (but red so I can't place it) and then count squares and stuff to figure out where to put the paver once I've canceled the attached stuff. I use a lot of gourmet bowls as markers. Put a couple down roughly where you need the paver and then you can count off those to get it in exactly the right place.

(the bowls don't stay, you just use them to count squares and orient yourself)

some things that seem complicated are way easier than it looks :D (if you want to put floor stuff on those wall pieces, like i put the plushies, you'll have to take the floor that connects the rest and cancel place it elsewhere. put builder's floors at the same spot, what you want on it, and when reloading your plot it will be merged :P )

I have some flower rules by myself.

Use flower bushes from the flower event in kilima. They look good, are big enough and can be placed instead of 10 flowers at same spot.

You need always the builders set to made own ideas. But even there, you need to reduce the amout of the items. I wish there is an option, they would allow you use builder items up to 3000 items, decorate items up to 2500 items, flowers / plants up to 2000.

Every counts as their own limit and not outrule the other.

But i think the limit of 3500 overall are there for some reasons. Server data and such.

You need a pillar and a stone floor. Look up how to make flower signes just like that it works

You need to use a floor, place the table, then rotate the floor to vertical on the shelf.

I was trying out glitching flow trees upside down, did some other things and came back the tree was gone but still got the pillar. Anybody know what could have happened? and can I get my tree back?

honestly could be a lot of things, tree house, cloud house, could use the free space under it to make it a dock house, or put it on top of landscape terraces! so interesting
