For canceling u dont place down the hotbar item. U just take it out of inv to „place“ the other thing somewhere else.

When u hit ur number key for ur hotbar item, it pulls it out into ur hand to place, causing the item u were holding to temporarily lock where u were holding it.

• price doesnt get higher after purchasing one
• u can do a lot more with it than with the old houses
• u have rlly cool addons
• second floor and stairs
• it’s rlly pretty, especially the original floor and wallpaper
• more fancy stuff and options prob coming in future

There's a ranch house set (old) and a rancher's set (new)--the names are too similar! The fence is part of the rancher's set. (I'm guessing you are referring to the old one since you said "added at some point." Nothing was added to the old set--it's a brand new set this month.)

Okay, so I'm guessing there isn't a way, since I've tried everything I can think of, and this tree still ends up in the front of my plot once I leave. Is there ANY way to get it to stay up there? There's a terrace up there--I've tried putting it on the terrace before putting the terrace up there, I've tried putting it on the terrace after, I've flicked it onto the terrace... It refuses to stay.

It's not the end of the world if I can't do it, but it would be cool to have a couple of trees up there.

Well, I figured out the way! It's the terrace that's the problem. If you flick the tree directly onto the house, it will stay. I reloaded, I left for Kilima and back, I even quit the game and returned, and the tree is still there. Yay! I also canceled the tree out of the way to place the terrace, and it still returned to its spot on top of the house. Then I realized that you don't even need to cancel it because you can place the terrace there anyway, using the pillar. (The roots do come down into the house below, but that's actually what I wanted--I just wish they were longer for my purposes.) Tagging @umbral cape -- you can have a tree on your terrace!

Try this:

1. make a tower of 5 pavers
2. take the top one and put it on the floor
3. take it back and cancel it on top of the paver tower
4. take your table with multiselect from a bowl on it and put it on the paver
5. move the top paver away to activate the glitch

You can use this function to search for inspiration (change "word" for whatever you're looking for, of course) and use the "G" key on PC to see what the item you're aiming at is while touring houses (for consoles it's whatever key the little spyglass icon has on the corner of the screen)

Just to be clear for you... There are two housing lines. The old ones (harvest house and grand harvest house) do not connect with the new ones (achemist cottages). You cannot use the stairs for the achemist houses in the old houses without glitching. You can have a second floor in the alchemist cottages just by stacking and adding stairs, but you can't do this with the old ones (and you can't buy the stairs until you buy alchemist cottage A). The old grand harvest house does have a spiral staircase in the corner up to a second floor balcony, but it's not a second floor with rooms, and you cannot connect any rooms off the second floor either. I hope this clears everything up so you know what to get in order to do what you want!

Where is it not working? Step by step: Pick up the terrace piece to move it, make sure it's yellow-green like you can place it, hit the number of something from your inventory. You can't place that item from your inventory (hit escape), but your terrace should be placed down in the new spot.

You can try that. Sometimes I just quit and log in again... Periodically things just don't work. I've had situations where I can't place anything, where I can't move anything, where I can't use the shift key in chat (so no capital letters or punctuation). Quitting and restarting fixes it.

You can stack multiple alchemist cottages, yes. The roof sections (attic area) will not connect, but the rooms will. When you place stairs on the first floor, it will open up a space in order to get up to the second floor. You can choose whether rooms have open walls or door openings (no actual doors) or closed walls, so you can make rooms. But keep in mind that you can only have 10 connected alchemist cottages, so there is a limit. And you can't stack more than two.

Also there are no hallways.

I just did some quick math. For furniture it's 6 times the value of the materials that went into it--regardless of whether it's rare or common (at least based on the few things I checked). Or at least very close to 6--I got exactly six for the capital chic bed and a homestead armchair, but I got like 5.8 for stone builder blocks and ramps, and 6.01 for a bellflower dining chair.

I really do love the new housing line for being able to have rooms with really nothing else. Before the new houses, I was originally going to build this entirely out of terraces, but being able to have flooring and walls to hang things on (as well as wallpaper) makes a huge difference, even if the corners are a little square for a hobbit hole. 🙂

And being able to open the walls to stick things through them is fantastic, too. It's all going to be covered by the hill anyway.

I don't see this answered, a recent hotfix was to address the missing pieces if you leave your plot while construction, possibly picking it up afterwards should cause less issues too with missing add-ons
Otherwise they work (mostly) as intended

Apparently, it belongs to the list of things that need a direct connection to ground to stay on builders items, meaning that you can place it on them but need to anchor somewhat to outside ground, if you place the builders items with it on any house floor it will be yeeted

U don't have to pull ur floor apart, just flip a floor piece upside down, then sit ur flower floor on it

U may have to cancel place some flowers off tho in case they collide during attachment

You hold the item u wish to cancel place in ur hands, then move it where you want it temporarily locked (do not place it), then hit a number key containing a decor item, or a starred bug/fish/food. It will pull this item from ur inv. leaving what u were holding in the spot u were holding it, rather than having it jump back to it's original position

It is very possible. This is a ground only item, so it needs to sit on a terrace piece if u can't flick.

Ok, so if it is attached to the wall, u have to remove it by picking up the flower floor by the anchor piece (the floor piece that everything else is attached to). You then take ur shelf with the pillar on it and set it upright, add a floor piece to it, then flip it back upside down. Then u put ur flower floor on top of that floor piece

Ground only means it won't sit on anything but the ground, a red present or a terrace piece (the terraforming pieces from Kenli's Office)

You take a shelf. You put ur floor piece on it . you flip the shelf upside down, then take the flower floor and set it on the floor piece which has been flipped

The pillar is just a tool to easily get the floor on a shelf

Nah, you need to made a floor on a shelf and made it upside down FIRST, then plant the flowers on it.

After you take it from the shelf, the flowers will be at the right side.

Then you put it very high and put some pilars under it.

It's really hard to find the spot where the floor will attach to the pillar. In my first picture, I'm aiming at the pillar, but the floor is going attach to the wall behind it. In my second picture you can hopefully see that I'm aiming actually to the right of the pillar. This way the floor attaches to the pillar and only the pillar. You kind of just have to keep wiggling around until it goes where you want it. But once it's only attached to the pillar you can turn it over. (You will want to turn the shelf over before you do this for the flower ceiling, so that you are putting a right side up floor on the upside down pillar. Also, sorry i'm in the way in the picture.)

Once the floor is attached to the pillar only, when you pick the pillar up off the shelf, the whole thing will flip.

As long as you start with the shelf/pillar combo upside down (not like in my picture--I was just trying to demonstrate getting the floor onto the pillar).

Rugs act differently from each other, so some may give u problems putting things on top of them. If you cancel place the rug out of the way tho, u can place ur item and then just switch plots to get it to snap back

Do you mean opening the wall between them so it's one space? You can do it from H mode (the top down view) and edit each wall of the building.

I would not reccomend that, since the second u sit it in ur house it's going to detach the stations and send them to ur entrance

There are extra steps to do it that way

Whatever u set ur crafter on has to stay sitting on the outside ground, or it un-anchors. So you can't even put down a floor piece, set another on top and then add a crafter. Anything between the items anchor and the ground will yeet it.

Yep- tiny flower seeds. You get them from Piksi bounce (Elderwood Deep Woods - 10PM server dependent) and Killima flowers (11:45AM - 4:30ish~) and recrntly nightime.

I don't think the bushes work anymore. I used to put rose bushes in mine from seeds.

Well i'll try step by step:

1. Put a pilar on the shelf. Very normal.

2. Made the shelf upside down with the pilar on it.

3. Then add on the pilar edge the floor. Its tricky, but you can see how its placed on the video.

4. Put flowers on it.

5. Take the pilar after you done (it's have to be on the floor forever), your floors are automatically upside down then, when placed the pilar on ground.

6. Put it on another pilar.

7. Move the pilar to your final place.

Your floor is not on a upside down pilar. You flip the whole ground itself. Thats not working.

The trick works only with a pilar.

Because your floor is upside down. I think the whole issue here is that you need an additional piece between your floor and your shelf. The contraption on the right will turn things over, but if you turn the floor over, you can't place flowers. So you have to put something on the shelf, either a pillar or another floor piece that goes BETWEEN the shelf and the floor with your flowers. You turn the shelf over with that piece (pillar or floor) on it and only then do you add your flower ceiling floor to the upside down pillar or floor on the shelf. But that in-between piece that you originally put on the shelf has to stay connected to your flower ceiling in the end, because that's the piece the flips it.

THere's a single piece missing from your set up. You just need something between the shelf and your ceiling. It can be a pillar, a block, a floor, or a wall. Anything that you can attach your flower ceiling piece to.

You need always something like a pilar.

No, it just doesn't have to be a pillar. It can be any builder piece, but the in between piece is the key. That piece is upside down while you're making your ceiling, and when you take it off the shelf that piece turns right side up and flips the entire rest of the ceiling that is attached upside down.
