yeah you'd have to glitch it I think. Depending on how your build is made, I would probably get rid ot the pillars, move away lower part (or maybe all) of the fireplace using cancellation method, then attached the floor ("shelf") part to the wall and would reload the plot

it all depends on if u want to learn it, its another skill like any other and its hard to start (btw try to switch bowl to this pillar+rug and what happens if u group by the rug or pillar, same mechanics as bowl)

To create this I used a large terrace and anchored it to a builders floor so I could sink the terrace later. I had it flipped to do one side and cancelled it and put flowers on and did the same on the opposite side (with trial and error to line it up) had to move the house away and cancel some landscape away to get the canopy where i wanted and then moved the house back.

Im not sure if the entire way I did it is switch friendly though.

I’m having trouble placing the double Unbraan fence around my plot. When I get to the sides (East and West), there’s a chunk of 14 of the little grid squares where it won’t let me place. There’s more than enough room, but it still says “This location is outside of the peaceable area!”. I’ve tried leaving and coming back but it doesn’t help. Is anyone else experiencing this? I was able to place normal fences just fine.

Delete them like any other item. There's a trash icon in your inventory menu bottom right

The only glitch u can't do on console is flicking an item. Everything else is possible if u adjust your settings. There are a few different ways to achieve this, but you would need to learn the basics first or it would get confusing.

I recommend looking up cancel placement for consoles on YT. That would be the easiest way to go about this. You would have to place the lights where u want them to go after moving the gazebo, cancel place them out of the way, and then move the gazebo back in place. You could also use a small terrace with the lights and a builder's piece on top and use another builder's piece to push it under the gazebo with multi-select, tho I'm not sure if that would show thru the floor or not

Yes, it refuses without grid as well. Can place outside on that same patch, but inside is "obstructed". The strange thing is there's an overlap between the side positions.

The walls tend to do this. A few things can cause it. Either something you have attached outside is getting in the way, even tho it shouldn't the game thinks so. You could also just be hitting one of those weird spots on the wall that won't let u place things.

It didn't used to do it, but over time with patches and updates it's getting worse

put it as close to where u want on the wall, place a builder's piece on top of the shelf, pick up that shelf by the piece via multi-select, cancel place it close to another builder's piece on the ground, and then move it however far u need to via multi-selecting the piece u placed on the ground

You can build the construct outside then push the builders wall into the house wall and it wont be visible anywhere

Tho note if u do this, u are anchoring the shelf to the outside ground

to anchor it back to the wall do what I said again, but place the second builder's piece u wish to pick up and place by on the wall. Cancel place it in the exact same location, then pick up the shelf after multi-selecting by the builder's piece on it, then just cancel place it on the piece on the wall, pick up and place the one on the wall via multi-select in the same location and it's anchored back on.

Yeah, I'm hitting the inverse on the fishing trophy shelf, so it seems to think there's an opening border I'm hitting, feels like.
I'm relatively new to the builders' blocks, I can try that out.

Also, if u ever change the walls, or move or pick up the house when it's anchored to the wall, it will undo it. And u can only go 6 crates high with something when anchored to the ground outside

Also, I decided to go with 4 ball billiards for the pool table, since pockets don't look that great. Now I just have to find something to make into pool cues.

The error I figured out. I kept picking up and putting down the one board in the far right corner, and it wasn't working.

So I took it, placed it elsewhere, and then put something on it, and placed it.

Now I can put stuff on that board and it's not throwing that mindless error.

So somehow, the game must've bugged out the one board for that error. I "reset" it by placing it somewhere else, and then placing something on it, placed it back... and I could do whatever I wanted with it...

I spreaded my preserve jars into a bar/drinking area. They don't look 100% like drinking barrels for aging alcohol in, but that was my attempt.

I put my worms by the garden and food prep area.

So you COULD make a eatery of some sort. Maybe you could use PalTech sinks or something, glitch it onto the barrel, and get away with a better design than I did.

I threw a palsink into a square, ghosted it elsewhere, then came back to my plot after putting the tree down... so now it looks like a maple tap.

That way it functionally looked like a scrap food / no waste.... fresh food... and on the other plot is where my bar like eatery is.

Edit: I'm too proud to tear apart the eatery, but it's DEFINITELY not the japandi vibe I wanted.

The crafters cant be put on builders blocks/floors etc because it has to be on the floor.

They will teleport usually to the front of your plot (might need to relog if you dont see them)

You can float them or use canceling so that the floors are connected (through other pieces) to ground

Also, if you do this from the start on a HH wall, it will compress it so the gaps on the external side of the circle dissappear

There is a way to do this, and also remove the gaps between the crates by building on the ground with a jig. Then u just have to flip it vertical. You get a more perfect circle this way. It's how I made my baths in the Greek Bathhouse. You can do it by multi-selection as well, but this way they are all anchored together and move as one

Is the issue getting the floor piece underneath it? If so, you can put one under there with cancel placement and multi-select. Take a floor piece, attach another to it. Cancel place the attached one out of the way and butt the main floor piece up to the shipping bin as close as you can on the side where the other floor piece was attached. When u place it, it will snap the other floor piece back on, and it will be under ur bin.

You can build the whole floor piece u want and do this so u don't run into collision issues. Just cancel place everything away from the main floor piece they are all attached to and line it up

You can build the whole platform where the terrace will be plus the extension in a way they are not linked together then group select to place everything on the floating anchor, this way you can take the extension and any unused floor and they are not technically floated far since the anchor is close

Of course this is dependent on how much space you have to build it longer

I did what Theo did and used sideways pavers sunk into the wall for some. I had an upside down umbrella leaned against the table at first, but compared to those, it was twice the size, so I nixed it.

how does one get tilted/placed down books? i see you did it on the table there

I used a shelf to rotate the table and place the book down on it with the help of a bowl, you can find loads of tutorials on youtube on how to do it

There's a few different ways to do it, tho it depends on how OCD/glitch savvy you are, which would work best for u, lol

I don't like the way they just barely float above the surface by doing the rotation thing, so I sink plates into my books to do it, so they sit flat against the surface

Plus if I ever want to move them I can. Tho doing it my way is a pain, lol. So only go that route if u r OCD like me XD

I did mount a whole jig just to float them, reliably, on 4 different tables just because I won't fight with plates and bowls on Switch

no they have to be attached to a floor piece and then cancel place it off the floor piece and then u can place that in the house and it'll snap in

floating by using the 1 cup method

or "anchorless" or "switch floating/sinking" it's been known by

Tho it isn't actually anchorless. You anchor to the house wall/floor or the outside ground

so no additional piece for an anchor needed

And u just move it around with mutli-select. I find it to be more precise than reg. floating, and better since u don't need the additional piece, but it does have a lot of rules u need to know before trying it

I planned to, but with having most of my plots maxed out already, I figured I'd wait until they release the animal husbandry before I do anything. I do remember how much the original housing biome has changed through the patches so I have a feeling we might not even get a housing item but maybe another section for animals instead, like with the path to Bahari

Yeah, the tish bug was also from the update (the for the boyz quest). The only known fixes were to 1) wait, it may fix itself. Or 2) trigger Hodari to visit your plot somehow.

You couldnt speak with her at all, it would just fade in and out😭 she was haunting my stream, chat thought it was hilarious. I couldnt do 3 quests cause of it

I've been touring boardwalk for a really long time and I still haven't seen everything there is, I'm sure. Your plot is mind-blowing! I hope you're the type to keep putting your plot on the board, cuz I absolutely need to visit more than once. Amazing work! You had to have worked crazy hard on this. Did you plan it out ahead of time or make it up as you go?

When I was little, my family went to see House on the Rock in Wisconsin. I The expanse and detail in your plot reminds me of that so hard. It went on forever and, in my little brain, there would never be enough time to see it all

Idk if i'm missing something but i'm trying to build an elevated area for my seed makers and jammers but for whatever reason the stone building floors wont let me place anything on top. If the stone floors are flat on the ground i have no issues. I tried finding youtube videos but the algo is trash

If you want to put your seed makers on top after, know that you'll have to glitch a little to anchor your seed makers somewhere on the ground or they'll teleport to the entrance every time...
