They either used a red present, or flicked it onto something for the anchor. You can use a builder's piece, etc. for it if you can flick

If you use floors, tho, either put them up off the ground, or make a stack. When you flick, it will attach to the piece below it

i'm really late to this, but it's actually extremely resource intensive for a video game to make an actual mirror effect work where it properly reflects what is in front of it. taking shortcuts like the one you see in palia won't nuke your gaming system/computer with an unoptimized mess unless you've paid a very pretty amount of money so that your system can handle it. the vast majority of modern games will use that blurry mirror effect, or various other shortcuts that don't quite properly reflect what mirrors should be (like having a hidden camera angle that projects through the mirror texture). the answer to making true mirrors in games is ray tracing, but that's an extremely expensive, and resource intensive way of rendering that not many systems use (nor need to use).

and i don't intend to invalidate your complaint; it's a very understandable and common complaint towards the limitations of game development.

so what we have in palia is a tradeoff for game performance across multiple gaming platforms, and makes it accessible to more players

This would be the most simple way to put a terrace (partially) under a house, just use a large one instead of the small one I show here:

If you want to do it the complex way - the way I'd do it.
Place a terrace on the bed, but sunk below the bed so it's just below the bed enough to be under the floor and then you can place the bed posts

palia is, to my understanding, only optimized for SSDs (solid state drives), so if you're playing on a hard drive disk, you will be playing at a performance disadvantage. even still, it's not very optimized. I play on SSD and it has pretty jank performance

I just did the math on how long it takes to get the essence for the new gazebo, just out of curiosity, and it is insane. I went on the lower end with the numbers for force spawning trees, and solo it would take 5 hours of just non-stop chopping...

I’ve been doing honey lures for flame frogs/beetles grabbing the beetles for money they drop decent essence 5 lures you get at least a stack or more. 30k in bugs too.

Yeah, I've noticed connecting things together like the builder's stuff, and multi-selecting have been acting weird. That's how I was able to pick up and item without the multi-selected piece on it. I can place tables like they are a crate, etc, lol

This wasn't multi-select or anything. Just free placing while aiming at that specific area, and it just lets you place it below the level of the first.

I know, lol. Builder's pieces have been hopping around/not connecting the way they should lately. Have you tried messing with the way that the builder's bridge pieces snap together? I was able to make an upright box out of them without glitching too, since they bounce around on the connection point.

insects, however, require luck to spawn corrupted. trees, you can actually reliably force corrupted spawns

Possibly, with crafters/prep stations they have to be on the floor completely otherwise they teleport. So placing them on builders blocks will cause them to teleport or do other weird things.

Figuring out exactly where you want it is a bit of a puzzle, but if you just put a hallway piece on the back of a house, add a room to it, then put a room on each side of that room, then place it on the side of another house, whatever you put on the end of the center room will jump/rotate and detach when you place it on another wall. The only thing you can't pick up is the harvest house itself after the fact, or the rooms will merge, or the room on the opposite end of the one that had the wall cut

and where it detached, it cuts the wall off. You can pick up pieces too, so no extra rooms

many of them are extremely simple to use and user friendly. you do not need to be an architect or have formal education understand how to use them

many also let you do interior design! you can place furniture objects to get an idea how your space can be filled.

as for your first point, i understood that! what i mean is you can recreate the floorplan of these built/buildable homes in these online applications, and then use them to arrange furniture objects in them to represent your palia interior and exterior designs so that you could pre-plan things before placing them and then work from there. it's a foundation to work off of!

as for the other two points, that's fair; we all do things differently! i don't know you as a person or player, so it was just an idea to springboard off of that may have made your designing life easier. also i mess around with them too much, myself, and have used them for other games like animal crossing so i didn't spend more bells/crafting materials than i needed to accomplish goals (at least, before the HHP DLC came out) so i can't blame you on the third point :T

palia is so grind heavy that any way i can potentially help someone not waste a ton of time or resources they could have used on something else is a win in my book, and these online applications have done just that for me

I tried sinking a juniper tree already. The small terrace I attached it to sunk just fine. However, the tree stayed at ground level. When I moved the terrace, the tree would move as well.

My only concern with using "creative" methods on placing on the plot is that if they were to remove those ways of placing, how many hours, days that would be ruined for so many people. So I try to use regular placement as much as possible. It's just the odd thing here and there, like making the cozy camp frilly pillow so my flutterfoxes can sit on them and a couch made inte a L shaped couch. Hidden a couple lamps in display cases. 🙂

That's definitely safest. There were cries of horror throughout the land after a recent update that nixed ghosting. For me, I just mess around with the easier glitches until I get used to using them to do what I want. As my own worst enemy, I tend to do things in the most complicated way I can find. I enjoy being able to think outside the box tho, so I'll be one of the people who cries if any glitches become impossible in the future. Life on the edge, I guess

I tried both having the tree already on the terrace before attaching it to the anchor and placing the tree after it was attached. Both times the tree did not sink, but stayed attached to the terrace and would move when moving the terrace

The devs are aware of the glitches and that’s where the cancellation method came from. I don’t think they will intentionally stop the glitching as they can see the creativity that the glitches have created. They did not intend for people to do this but when they gave us building blocks they probably thought to themselves let’s see what they come up with.

They patched it you can still place things then move them with cancel placement and then place your gazebo if you are familiar with that. If not there is a bunch of YouTube videos to help with that

You can merge them inside of them, but they have to be touching the floor.

curiosity question - with the most recent update, has anyone else noticed that the builder blocks has some weird physics as you walk over them now?

I'm going to put in a report on it, but I've never had this issue before ☠️

I have noticed this, as well as the builder's pieces not snapping correctly, like how Theo showed he can sink a floor piece on another without glitching. Multi-selecting is acting weird as well, which i why I was able to do that bug where you can pick up a multi-selected item without the piece you mutli-select from.

while the floor thing is annoying, I kind of don't want them to fix the other 2

Th red present from the Christmas event will let you put anything on it, if you don't have one you have to "flick" the item on, which is a glitch
