You can't prevent it from happening. It will happen every time the connected rooms are different sizes.
I've complained about it many times in the past, but not recently. Maybe a renewal some complaints through the their official feedback channel now that S6 is looking to improve the building systems would be a good idea.

This isn't so bad, but a large part about why this is is because of the decor theme you went with. The Brown neutral tones are everywhere, and you've done well to cover them up.

1)Put dessert plate on shelf
2)Rotate shelf 90° to the right and place
3)Take the dessert plate and move it away, cancelling its placement down (cancelling=taking something out of inventory and not placing it down yourself)
4)Put the bridge down and put a pillar on top of the bridge
5)Multiselect from the pillar, move it on top of the plate and place it down (you should see the bridge being slightly higher if you're aiming right in the plate)
6)Take off the pillar and pick up the bridge, moving it away and cancelling the placement
7) Take the plate and move it to "activate" the glitch

I used cancellation Place it where I wanted it, moved it away and put a row of builders block where it was When I reloaded my plot, the plate went back to its original place (now inside the blocks)

Generally, canceling the placement of something is a required step to get something to float off another item.

If you can get the builders blocks to be touching the ground in some way, then that's fine.

Even if you did a large stack of building blocks. So as long as the very first block in the stack is touching the outside ground, you're fine to place crafters, and the like, on it.

Ahh, that explains why the other chest didn't go on a walkabout. Some of the blocks "float" a bit to make them fit between the pavilon pillars because they're uneven as heck.

Did you actually pick up the pavers, and place them again? That's probably why. I would have canceled them out of the way and then put the rug down.

The reason this is happening in the first place is because the pavers are not placed on the ground. They are connected to the paver next to them.

They need to actually be placed on the ground, or the grass will stick up.

I don't know why sort of glitching you're familiar with, so I'm not certain what to suggest.

You can place the pavers further away on the ground, and then use the magic of group select to move them where you want them to go.

You could use one of the "friendship" rewards Fun Guy plushies with the Summer Umbrella for Totoro. You may even be able to glitch the Elderwoods wall leaf thing on top of it's head. For the other, you could maybe the mannequin with the makeshift umbrella. You could make clothes out of the smaller rugs and some glitching techniques. The sign itself will be the easiest.

So to trick the hot bar you double jump when focused on the item you want to cancel place. When your glider is out, pick up the item, the hot bar should be available to use while you have the item in your hand. This is the first trick to cancelation on console.

Console cancel placement: In a nutshell, you will use the weird jump function (double jump i explained above), pick one thing up of your desired combination, your hot bar will be accessible. The item you are holding, move to anywhere it can place (this moves it out of the way for now.) To place it out of the way (it is not permanent, just temporary) select a decor item from the hot bar as if to place it. Then cancel that choice with the appropriate button. It should place the item out of the way for now. Now take the second half of the combination you want, and place it in the appropriate place for the end goal. Now change plots and change back. It should have both items together.

Up until this last update, there was a ghosting glitch you could do that allowed you to trick the game into giving you interior doors. It's more complicated than I'm explaining ATM lol. You may see some as you do home tours.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be a possibility anymore or at least until one of the glitch geniuses on this channel figure out a new way.

In the meantime, I've seen people use builder wall panels, bookshelves (like a hidden room bookcase) and dividers as "doors" and it seems to work fairly well even if it isn't animated.

that seems weird, only 2 ideas:

• had the issue that I was able to place the room on device A, but not on device B.. restarting twice fixed that one.. weird stuff
• no clue if thats still true: but the bundle rewards (like the Ancient Rock Garden) had really weird collision issues a while back. Does it allow you to place other stuff where the room would be, from housing mode, lets say trees or building blocks?

Trees, items, building blocks can be placed the area. The bay window or another door will connect to room. Only hallways or another room will not connect. Room limit on my harvest house is at 6/15 🥲

Hallways and rooms will connect to other rooms connected the same harvest house but just not to that area :/ I have also tried changing the room for a different room and nothing will connect in that area 🥲

By using a different spin, on the technique used for making arcs out of building crates. I discovered it can also be used, to place decorations outside the building zone border.

My spin on this... Instead of building ontop of your "root" crate, you build down. A crate can snap, onto the bottom of another crate...

When you then place your root prim, back onto the ground at your housing plot, everything snapped underneath it, will now be hidden underneath the terrain.

You could use a tent just for the chests, lining them against the wall one left and right with a rug in the middle, would look nice and glitch-free

No worries, we're here to help Most builders now use techniques that aren't really given in the game to decorate, which we call glitching most of the time However, it require an item to be used as an "anchor" for the rest to stay in place (for most glitches), but with functional items like chests and working stations, you'll have to have that anchor on the ground outside for it to stay put

I'd say for yourself not to focus too much on glitching if you're only at the start of the game tho, it often requires resources and items you get later while playing

I usually gather resources with my gf, so it's funnier and sometimes I get x2 loot For the processing of materials, I usually put them when I know I'll be doing something else, or just when I'm going to sleep

||put one of each normal seeds into your inventory, fill the rest of your inventory with random stuff. if it doesnt show "inventory full" when you are in front of the statue it's not a flow seed -> hop servers until it says inventory full||
