grinding is part of the process, it's how you optimize and practice, or in my case, find ways to make glitches reliable for runs.

also, everyone grows at their own pace, especially in art. it's hard not to notice how others may be ahead of you (especially when they're younger; i'm not too far off your age), and even harder to not be mean to yourself, but you can only ever do your best and that varies by day. some days your best is 110% of your usual, some days your best is 70% of your usual, some days it's under 10%! but as long as it's your best with what you have/can do in that moment, you're doing exactly what you should be doing.

speedrunning is the process of doing something - anything, there's even speedruns for SHARPENING PENCILS all the way down to a nub, i kid you not (https://www.speedrun.com/pencil) - as fast as possible, as efficiently as possible, using whatever tools you have available to you (and as allowed per your category rules). it takes a lot of different skills, which kiiiinda start leaking into everything else in life.

for me, it has leaked into making structures in a funny internet game using silly exploits and glitches

Cancellation is only putting something down, moving it away and taking an item out of your hotbar to cancel the placement, move your second furniture where you need it and reload the plot

It is, you use a glitch technique called flicking. You have to be on pc to do it tho

You have to set your frame rate as low as you can, bind a key for selecting and confirming placement (2 different settings). I use V. Then you take the item you want to place and assign it to a number key in your inventory. Pick up something you can place on the table, pull it into yourself until it says "something is in the way", then smash the V button while clicking the number key. It pulls the item from your inv. and places it instead of what you're holding.

Since ive read it somewhere, cant credit anyone since i cant remember where:
you also can simply hold left click down and then press the number key instead of pressing in quick succession
Everything else (something in the way, keybinds..) stays the same.

It's easier to smash it and then randomly hit the number key, because you have to hit one right after the other to get it to snap

The item you want to place, that's the number key item, the item you use to place has to be set down first, then picked up and moved into place

If it doesn't say something is in the way then it won't work

Ok, I'll walk you through it step by step: Take a floor piece and put it out of the way on the ground. Have your item you want placed in your inv. and remember the number key. Pick up the floor piece, and line it up on the table. Get close enough to it to where it says something is in the way. Now, push the V button a bunch, and hit the number key your item is in. It should place the item instead of the floor. May take a few trys. **You technically have to hit the number key right BEFORE the V key. Someone figured this out through testing.

Most consoles allow keyboards, but its up to the game how they are exactly supported. Especially for that glitch, the game would have to show the full keybinds setting (with alternative keys and so on).
Not impossible that it actually is supported, but Id say its pretty unlikely

Cancel placement. You have to be on pc tho. Pick up the planter, and move it out of the way, but instead of placing normally, hit a number key with a decor item in it. This will move it out of the way without actually moving it. Place the lamp, then pick up the block and place it again in the same spot to activate it, or just switch plots

Well, I couldn't find Einar's pebble :oD ! You have some amazing ideas and great color associations. The rocks in the main houses are so surprising but work so well ! I also love how you managed to have thematic shrines & cie (like the Alabastor mirror wall ? So fun !!). My main concern would be the navigation ? You sometimes have to jump over objects, or have a very narrow path, and you can easily miss some of the gazebos or rooms. And special congrats for the rattan greenhouse : I could live there forever ^^

you can place your extra storage chests on another plot and then move them to strategic locations on your main plot as needed. the chests are connected through the different plots. i have half on my main plot plus one lock box on my main plot right now and the other 4 storage chests and the other 2 lock boxes are on my star storage temp plot
