the reason berry and shore are too flat, and calathea to some extent is bc there isnt enough color depth. which is fine if that's what you're looking for! like in a well lit area and you like bright colors, but in certain light they just turn into one flat color

the reason alabastor works is bc they pulled tints and hues from other areas of the color spectrum, not just the same color at different levels of lightness

its tricky to do, but the effect is much better! this is a love letter to whoever at s6 did alabastor lol

They just work so well together with a paint job slapped on, which makes including other pieces easier (when needed. I didn't do much of that for my office)

I like variety too much to stick to one or two color schemes tbh. Sometimes I will even use multiple in a room (such as my bedroom primarily being classic, but the lamps at the bed are actually autumn. They were too grabby in Classic)

if you're just starting with glitching, look up videos on desert bowl/multi select glitches. It's super easy to do with any items that have a surface you can set something on. I almost only use that exclusively since it's so easy.

Courtyard creates slight spacing issue when connecting all around unfortunately, but there are workarounds with asymmetrical builds.

Yep. This is the free one I'm talking about. For some reason at the start of release, some people got two free of charge instead of just one.

Housing Slots represent different versions of the Player's Default Plot. After the Player has completed construction of their first Harvest House Harvest House, another Housing Slot becomes available to the Player, free of charge.

Don't know if that's still a thing that happens now. I was lucky enough to get two free, so I have 11 plots total.

take like 4-5 treasure chests, stack them on top of each other, put them in the bay window and line it up on the edge so you have a grid across the front of the chests, then you should be able to line up the curtains at the top of the stack!

hiya everyone. I am super disheartened; suggestions would be really welcome.

I spent hours designing a place to keep my preserves and worm boxes. They used to be on the ground outside my main house and i put them into a block building inside a standard building. first screenshot.

However, the game had an error when I left (the infamous one since last patch) and it shut down. when i returned to the game, the preserve jars have glitched. another player also has their machines shift to the front of their plot - same exact issue, but they are on switch and don't build with any glitching. my decor count is currently 2500 and they were fine before the error when i left and returned to my plot. I restarted again, and they're still floating at the entrance.

any idea why and how to fix it? asking here because decor savvy and knowing the materials are probably part of the solution.

i can pick them up and replace them... but if i have to do that every time i error, decorating and building loses a ton of appeal....TIA. edited for clarity.

I don’t mean stacked in a literal sense, you have items that are linked and creates a “stack” and yes if you can find a way to connect it halfway from the ground (anchor) item, (on the other end) you might get the effect you’re looking for

Builders blocks are nice for what they are.
If they could take building blocks and make them into more realistic looking walls/floors that you can snap together, just like they did with the new bridge things, then people could make their own buildings entirely with whatever layout they want.

Just make it so you can put wallpapers on them.

With them adding the bridge stuff, I actually do think they are moving in that direction, or at least I hope.

Glitching is fun, but the way I see it is if glitching becomes the norm instead of the exception, just to do basic things like laying a book flat, building stairs, etc...like just give us those items since they are so commonly used. When the majority of the player base is glitching because there's no actual in game items, that's just silly. Even using the building blocks for pillars or partitions in the house...you still have to glitch them to get it to fit in certain areas and can almost never use them as normal. Why not just give us the ability to customize the indoor layout or add ACTUAL partitions and pillars?? I feel like they release items half baked knowing we will just glitch it to make it work somehow.

The only reason I haven’t done a full builder’s block build is how unnatural it’ll look + decor limit. The snapping mechanism was botched during some update earlier this year, maybe late last year, and it’s just a pain.

I realise I don’t have any completely finished plots because of the decor limit. I know there’s a way to glitch beyond the 3k limit, but I just don’t have the bloody time for all that. 😭

I think it can happen with most items that can be glitched together, but its most common with the blocks.

Would you consider doing a breakdown of how you did the left wing of the house? I have had an abysmal time trying to glitch interior doors without entire walls disappearing. Also I'm guessing it takes multiple plots to get that many small rooms side by side. (I am still trying to wrap my head around a lot of the glitch maneuvers)

Which is why I’d like for them to give us water. When people have the capital chic tables dyed blue as water and merge them together, it’s just a bunch of flickering. 😭

im doing a sky village i like the view of my plot from up top as well, you can only connect a certain amount of numbers for each starting point. If you have reached that it will say stack will be too tall.

I'm gonna have to look. Even if I'm done with related rooms, sometimes touring can give me new inspo, something that kickstarted the dining room renovation. Rather, a screenshot. But it did the trick.

I'm focusing on the indoors for this reason. I dislike the heavy outdoor and indoor plots because they're simply too busy to appreciate the craftsmanship properly (if one can say that). They're really pretty, but just too much. Perhaps my next plot shall be the opposite, and be more busy on the outside...

You can glitch them onto building blocks, using the obstetrical flicking technique, but it's not easy.

The first plot I ever put on the tour board was bland outside because all of the effort was inside. The current plot I stuck on the tour board has a lot of outdoor foliage, with equal decor inside.

Thanks, yeah I'm trying to avoid having using glitch techniques since it looks hard. Placing objects without glitching is tricky enough sometimes. 😆

But to be fair, 4 of the makeshift items wasn't obtainable until I was level 70.

Though, I think my efforts to get them all early only helped to make the issue known that 4 of them weren't obtainable, which ultimately got that issue fixed
