I’m struggling with this too and it’s suuuuch a bummer 😫 My crafters on builders floors inside the pavilion did the exact same and for a while I solved it by anchor floating them with floors outside the pavilion, but this wednesday they glitched to the front again 🥲🥲🥲

I have not seen any decor items marked as rare and yet there's an achievement for making a rare or higher piece of furniture. Are they marked and if so where should I be looking to see that?

can also be done in ur worktable, the logcabin planter is rare for example

I wanted last year to do this. To fill a forest. And bought 700 candles. Ended up making a windy light path with candles on each side placed a lot of them, I think around 300 or 400 of them just for the path.

I decided not to do the forest because Item limit 😅

I think at some point I had to dim down the candles from the path so I can finish my house

This year I bought some more candles, to have in reserve 😅, think I have over 1500 in total.

I can look for one but it's quite easy to do without a tuto as well, you just put down your first furniture down, move it away and cancel the placement grabing something else from your inventory, put the second furniture right next where the first one would be (calculate a bit how you want them to merge) and reload your plot

Okay so apparently I'm not the best to answer for Switch questions because I mainly play on PC 😄 is it possible for Switch users to do the normal cancel placement? Because I couldn't figure out how to choose an item from inventory while trying to do the cancel placement on Switch. I don't think it's possible on Switch then.

On Pc it is easy because the inventory slots are all the time visible but while picking up an item on Switch the inventory slots disappear ( I mean while on PC when I cancel place something I press a number, for example 4, if I know there is an item on that slot in my inventory )

I actually learned this method before I learned the "V"-key cancellation method on PC 😄 I was confused when people where talking about the "V-placement"

It felt, well, not so practical because, when using the "V" you are immediately placing an item, but this other method let's you place what ever item you choose. But both work and sometimes I use them both.

There seem to be a bunch of items whose placement properties are messed up since last patch. The Maji, and, i think, Homestead lanterns, and the large dragontide planter are the ones I’ve noticed that will only place on the floor now. Plus the hunting trophies won’t go on walls.

So you’ve floated a builders floor above the courtyard? If you had to turn the floor upside down then the “floor” is now the underside and you can’t place any furniture on it. But I think you can place a floor piece on it! That floor piece will be right side up and you can place furniture on that. Not sure but that might solve your issue.

You can place things on top of that floor if you can see the grid from underneath. I’m calling this method ”my candle method”: you use the spooky floating small candle to obstacle flick things from underneath. I use the candle since it’s so small and handy. But basically that works with any item that says ”Something is in the way” (basics for obstacle flick).

^ try obstacle flick from underside of the floorpiece (or do what Smoodles said above). The key is the use grids to place items, with or without obstacle flick.

So I made a staircase with pavers, and made the floor based off that. I can put regular furniture up there no issues, sorry I should've been more specific. I can't place any outdoor decor on it, specifically the pergola, or any outdoor lights spring items etc.

I'm just not sure if bc they're an outdoor item it can only be placed on the ground. I tried linking other builder pieces to them, but it won't stay connected if I try to pick them up, even as a group.

if you are on pc, i would recommend using your computers screenshot options, and assigning it to a hotkey, so while in game you can hit the key and instantly have a screenshot. or you can use the snipping tool if you run on windows, and assign it to a hot key and use that program the same way. the snipping tool is how i do most of my screenshots

Server hop during the underground market time frame. If you zone out, wait several minutes and then zone back into the market you'll often be put on a new server with a different selection of rugs.

if you have items inside a house, i do believe you can click on the house itelf in H-menu, and try to pick it up. should prompt you if you want to pick up everything inside as a result? which drops it all into your bags, and overflow into your storage

Group select is not working properly when you have 2 item ex table sitting on paver then bowl on top.

I haven't done a river yet, but from personal experience with group select

Idk if there's an easier way to do it but I place a wooden crate onto the edge of the counter. Place a small rug ontop of the crate and then group select the rug and merge it with the bookshelf.

im not sure what you mean? you do not need to group select after the table is on the paver. The gourmet bowls is only used to perform the glitch with the paver, after the tables on the paver when you multi select on the bowl to move, You just pick the paver up and drop the table with it into place, I rotate them ever so slightly to do angles and merge them. You do not use the bowl to merge them together, thats only if they would be upon the group like showcased in the end of my video for switch users for that pond. I wrote the steps for sunken here below!

pic of the scene where i merge, its just drag and drop and repeat, angles will help you sometimes merge the tables which is why my water can look so sloppy at times lol You can also place a gourmet bowl on top of the terraform, multi select, to get a clean edge after you place ALL water down, it makes a clean edge so dont stress if it doesnt line up perfectly.

Thank you! The issue was that I wasn't able to merge them together like that once they were sunken. I thought I had to group select with a gourmet item to do that, but it wasn't working. I couldn't merge them without the bowl/plate/etc., either. But I did finally get it to semi-work using the building blocks/pillars.

hey yall! as i've been touring plots i've noticed some people seem to be able to place things much closer together or in different places than my game allows? stuff like furniture on the ceiling, rotated on a different axis or pushed close enough together so there's no gap. is there a trick to this?

Yes, there is many glitches for that. Yesterday Drake Lance was teaching me to use this rug-trick. For example: Place a rug on a crate. Place the rug+crate on a cabinet. Multiselect the rug (ALT-key on pc). Then move the stack so it merges with the other cabinet. Place. Move the crate+rug away.

But you could also use a Gourmet Dessert Bowl too, Or obstacle flick, or Cancel method. There is many ways to do these glitches.

I understand how to sink items into the ground, but I'm really struggling to try to partially sink the Bellflower Grand Fountain. I tried with pavers and with builders block floor pieces as the anchor, but I cannot get the anchors to highlight to pick them up if they are under the center of the fountain and if I put them closer to the edge so that they will highlight, then when i place the fountain, the anchor is visible off to the side of where the fountain sinks. If anyone can help me I'd very much appreciate it. I can't find any video tutorials out there on how to do this specifically.

Also to add that I'm making a pond by sinking capital chic tables so I need for the fountain anchor to not be visible.

Most people sink the Bellflower Grand Fountain using last years winterlights red present. You can sink it using a builders block, you would just need to distance the block a ways so that you can incorporate the block in a build somewhere not far from the pond. I hope I am making sense lol. The fountain will not sit on a paver to sink it. I used the capital chic counter as the height I wanted to sink the fountain. If the block will not work for you, the winterlight decor should possibly be coming out next patch. The red presents will work to sink the fountain and can be hidden easily.

From what I see from that picture above, I'd place the crate+rug on top of a cabinet then move it where the bookshelf stands. Would be easier if I see what you're doing. (plus, remember to use multiselect/group select)

You can obstacle flick it on a shelf but you can't rotate it. It will just float.

Place pavers on a shelf and turn vertical, then use cancel method when turning it to the normal/horizontal position (because when you move the pavers later, they will naturally flip). Then place the veggies. Then move the anchor (two pavers in this case). (Cancellation is almost like it never happened for the item if/when you move the stack it is attached to/ or load the plot, but if you attach something to the cancelled item, it will kind of follow the original rules of the cancelled item - not sure if this explanation makes any sense to you)

You also could cancel the pavers so that when those are placed on floor veggies are floating on top

OR you could use a builderswall or a pillar as an anchor (obstacle flick the veggies) and hide it inside a wall

For what I did, I placed first a wooden wall piece first, then attached a floor piece to it and drag it under the shopping bin so that the wall piece is still inside the normal building area. But I believe probably many other tricks would work, like cancelling etc.

Just to be sure, have you took the other floor piece (which is now seen red on top) (I presume that is the item you are using as an item to say "something is in the way") actually out from your inventory? So that it is actually placed elsewhere on the ground, and not actually in the way when the tree eventually drops there where you want it? So long story short 1. place the item on the ground you are using as a tool to o-flick. 2. make sure it is NOT actually in the way where the o-flicked item is going to land (when you are using it as a tool, then it is the short time for it to "be in the way").

sure the game being available on switch is one factor but the overall optimization of the game is the main issue, full 3k item plots don't even run smoothly on high end PCs.

Well you can do with the stone pillar as well, but it's harder if ur new to the game. You can out of concrete pavers. Same way you did with the wood

you cant - devs broke them - they edited by the big pond and raised the land - also they added in more foliage etc - also changed the grass height - note that you may do a sort of out of bounds build moving parts on/with the flooring pavers / building blocks
