the lag is the biggest hurdle here imo, nothing we can suggest will help if you';re lagging this badly that you can't pull fish or track them since you're on PC, it can be that your graphics setting is too high for your card to handle and its stuttering. Go to settings > lower your graphics quality. Hopefully it improves the lag?

hmm, palia isn't well optimized unfortunately it can be causing an issue if you have a really old graphics card

Also the tracking isn't a lag thing, it's a me thing. I can't predict where a fish is going to move, and I can't react well enough to track it before it gets away

if you're high level enough to unlock fisherman's brew, that'll help a lot because it increases the size of your ( )

If you have fish stew, sashimi, or trout dinner those also give nice fishing buffs

having a minor hook (craftable, recipe at Einar, I forgot what level of fishing) helps to reduce the speed of health drop I believe

it's a potion you unlock at einar at lvl 6 fishing. It only takes crystal lake flowers and emerald carpet moss which you can find all over the lake and coast in kilima

you can also unlock standard rod recipe, which upgrades your rod and makes it so that you spend less time reeling in fish

it did, before the change, if you called out a palium and someone came up and broke it, no one else coming could get anything. It pressured a lot of players to wait around for 10 irl minutes waiting for people to show up. People who didn't want to wait (because of using ore compass, or just not having that much time to stick around) were being called rude for smashing ore without waiting

The epic forageables should be on a 5 min timer. I can say with certainly that I have definitely heard the noise after they've been picked by someone else several times. Which means it's buggy or not true. It might also be that the sound differs in a way I haven't noticed. My personal guess is that the silent = picked was never really true and that it was just people guessing about the sound bugging out.

I think a lot of them kind of pulse with a glow effect no matter what, but I have been curious about this since the update.

Is there etiquette with flow infused trees? I'm not sure if it's a drop everyone gets or just one person when the tree is cut

everyone gets the loot as long as they hit the tree at least once. the etiquette is to hit it once and then wait. whoever called out the tree/grove will usually announce when it's ok to chop it down. just be careful with smaller trees as they don't have much HP and can be felled by accident if too many people try to get their hit in at the same time

I hang out by tamalas house cutting trees down to spawn them. Hardest part was finding someone to help without chat lol

ah yeah, don't worry about that. if you found a lone tree it's basically up to your discretion whether to even call it out or not. it would only be considered rude if you tried to hog a whole flow grove to yourself or you chopped down a tree others were waiting at

I've never seen a Grove of them! I saw on Reddit you can spawn them so that's just what I've been doing since it seems easier than searching.

ah, the grove spawns at midnight every night in one of a number of set locations. anywhere from 2-10 trees depending on the location. if you're in bahari around that time you should see people call it out in chat, it's pretty convenient

Anybody got some advice on trying to get the gazebo on my plot?? It says house expansion 2 and I've already noticed the default plot and the two other new plots. So assuming you have to buy the new harvest house to put on those new plots..?? So would buying and placing a new harvest house on one of those new plots enable me to buy the gazebo??

you have to buy 3 additional slots (in total you have 5 then) but you don't have to put a house or anything on it

you need to buy three plots (50k, 75k and 100k) to unlock the gazebo. you'll get a gazebo as a reward upon purchasing the 100k.

Lol I know you can purchase writs for more space on your plot and I noticed the default plot AKA your main plot, and the two new plots that I guess they just give you. But kind of glad I have been just due to a lot of things getting super buggy or taken away from the game cuz I sure notice since this last patch they're a lot of issues with rare bugs spawning, the starred star stones, and other minor things they have switched up on. So in that sense I'm glad I rushed around and stocked up on a bunch of fluid and pallium and got all the starred star stones. So with all the issues the devs have been having it kind of forces me to slow down and find me start working on my plot more

You don't need dispel arrows to hunt the Proudhorn, if that's why you're looking for them. You can just keep chasing it. And I'm sure you could find someone else who wants to hunt it, to help!

You'll just have to keep working at it; there's no shortcut. Try to catch a flow grove after midnight each in-game day. If you ask in the chat in Bahari Bay at the right time someone will usually be able to say where it is pretty quickly.

depends what you're after, a lot of people use mushrooms cuz you can buy them from zeki and the money you generate makes them free

that however only makes harvest boost fert, and I'm more interested in speedygro fert for my farm, so I put jam in mine, or sweet leaf if im out of jam

if you're after worms, then higher level dishes (like jam) makes more than 1 worm per item

yeah it's worth scaring the ones that could be scared away because they despawn, catching butterflies would free up the respawn slot for rarer bugs as well, but if I was on a jar I don't know if it'll be worth the time spent catching the common butterflies

personally I believe that bugs come in at least two types, ground and flying, and that each has it's own spawn table. so when I hunt for butterfly I catch common ones, when I was hunting for beetle I just scared all the ground bugs. I have no proof and it could be my own weird superstition

The signboard on your plot now allow people on the same server to visit open/public plots. If your settings are correct, then you could be bugged. For some people, allowing Friends and NPCs also allows randos from the server. I believe Private still works.

From what I've read here on discord some players have been testing out theories and seems to be a bug on switch that allows them access to anyones homeplot that's on the same server even when it's set to friends/community members/NPC only.

Each harvest house can have up to 15 additions. So if you want more than 15 rooms, you'll have to add another harvest house. The limit of additions on one plot is 30. And keep in mind that parvilions count towards that limit. I think that windmills also count, but not 100% sure on that one 🙂

my friends and i have a fun little strat we do sometimes where we load up on 2-3 honey lures, go to bahari coast during the daytime, and use the lures to catch as many purple crabs, snails, and stripeshell snails as possible. we go through about 200+ smokebombs, make about 7-8k gold each time (in less than an hour). it's become one of my fave things to do with a group that isnt cooking

There isn't a trick per-se since it's the same as trying to get a regular fairy mantis. My advise is just use buzzy jars. Go to the pulsewater TP and run around a bit, TP to hideaway and run around a bit (the buzzy jar will turn that into a really large area checked), then TP back to Kilima to change servers. Rinse and repeat.

There is a balance on trying to check the whole map vs checking a good percentage and not wasting time. Like running to Hodari's is probably not worth it since the area isn't much bigger and it's really out of the way. I think I would try to get within 200m of the top of the mine, cover most of the pulsewater meadow and the area between those two TPs. If you optimize for like area/time you can get one server checked pretty quickly.

thanks, never tried to change servers, will do that. Have quite many regulars, but no quality one. This and the butterfly are the last insects to be done with the quality collection.

Yeah, I think changing servers is key. Sometimes you're in a server competing with someone else using a jar. Sometimes the rare bugs are gone and you just have to wait around for them to spawn.

I don't know exactly how bug spawning works. I assume there is a kind of quota for number of bugs/unit area, but there are loads of possible variations there. For example, it could be that whenever a single bug spawns the game just samples a lookup table of rarity and then spawns accordingly. It could be that there is a sort of density of rare/epic bugs guaranteed, so catching one rare would (at least in some given time window) spawn another in a large area. It feels like once all of the rare bugs are caught they do come back. Not immediately, but in some time without player intervention. I don't know if bugs naturally despawn on their own allowing other ones to take their place.

These things are kind of too subtle to know without data mining.

there's two statues where you can spend renown, you've probably got them mixed up. one raises your focus cap (dragon shrine in maji's hollow), the other raises the percentage of bonus xp (phoenix shrine in phoenix falls)

Okay, this is for the fishing folks!! so I’ve used 100+ worms and already tried catching 7+ star bat rays but none of them was successful. Even equipped some boosters on both fisher’s brews and hooks. hi! so, once you go to your plot, you can either go into edit mode and hit whatever button/key that’s used to access “plot settings” (or something like that), then change who can visit/edit

OR, near the entrance of your plot, there’s a sign board (blue) that you can interact with and change your visitor settings!!
friends, party members, and neighbors just means ppl you have friended OR anyone on the server you’re in (kinda stupid)

private means only you can access it
and I think it’s called public ?? but that essentially lets anyone from any server have access to visiting

basically, after you've leveled up, you talk to Hodari (he is mainly in Bahari Bay) and unlock his shop. From there, you'll be able to buy the crafting recipe to upgrade your tools. Then, gather the required materials and craft your new gear!

Are Ancient Fish the rarest fish? I have the Something's in the Water achievement (that unlocks the fish) and still can't find one. I have multiple of every other fish and spent around 200 glow worms specifically chasing this guy.

Ive had it spawn after a honey lure, trying to catch shiny raspberries, when I just ran around daiya and the field to the south of the farm (honey lure was dropped at 6:30pm after catching/chasing all the nearby bugs away)

If I have unpinned quests as soon as a complete a new quest (leaving me with less than three) my quest tracker immediately pins some of those unpinned quests. I have to manually go in and unpin them. This isn't a big deal, I've been dealing with it for a long time, but I do find it kind of annoying. This is a feature, not a bug, right?

Okay, yeah it seems to only work on very specific walls for some reason. I was able to place it where I wanted it originally after removing the statues as suggested. But with them gone, I tried out other walls and I can't place them on those.

For some reason, it's only on my west side walls 😭 (Though before, I know I couldn't put it on that side either.)

Turning off grid did allow me to place it anywhere though!! So yeah, very fishy weird and finnicky decor piece
