you don't need a recipe for the batter or layers, if you have the celebration cake recipe then you'll make the batter and layers as one of the steps

100% - as you go up, you spend more renown for less %. I’m at 86% and 100 renown gives 1%, so I still need 1400 renown to get to 100% bonus

It opens a window with a dropdown and a couple of options (ie Generous, Helpful, etc) and a text box for a message. But it also has an error box under it so it probably doesn't work. Nobody seems to know what it does lol

u also can only know a weekly want if u have the lvl with a villager
so u can know only the first 2 weekly wants if u are lvl 2

u can have multiple houses on one plot, but u can also switch to a completely empty plot to start another building e.g when u hit item limit on ur current one

The drop rate is weird. I killed 2 Sernuks and they only dropped the Leather, not the Meat.
Also took me too long to realize that Fish Recipes don't drop while at a Fish Pond (the circle in which you get Quality Fish).
Spawn rate of Quality bugs is also too low. I'm checking their timings and +2 hours to get a simple one like the Leafstalker Mantis.

Everything can only be caught with the specific bait it requires (nothing, worm or glow worm) if you're using the wrong one of those 3, you can never catch the things that need you to be using them.

It's not like, "this kind or better" like you might think. It's specifically and only that kind.

It depends on the quest how long things take, and what youre looking to complete Some are really as simple as 'go talk to this person and this person and then back to the original person' and others, like temple quests, have a larger focus on exploration which can take more time. If youre really struggling at the finding things bits, you could always look up a guide too

drink dispenser is a reward from one of the quests that triggers from the rummage pile + it seems to be a one time item so no recipe for its only one item we can get ever

||the initial quest for it is the signet ring quest that drops from the rummagepile after that a few other found items spawn on the map that have a small quest, the last one of the items has the quest that rewards the dispenser, but the item that triggers the quest seems to not exist, seems to be bugged||

I think that's where the need for flares originated from. Because of the fireworks and it's easy recipe, people started using it as flares. Until they made the recipes way more "expensive". They must've implemented actual flares later. I missed that update

I am losing my mind a bit with these housing add-ons. I'm trying to place a hallway on the left here, but it keeps saying there's something in the way. I've removed everything outside and I'm not standing there. It appears to work on the right side, though. I’m a little confused on the romancing mechanics. I know you can romance everyone at the same time without consequences, but what significance do the pins hold besides new daily dialogue? aside from just running around, pay attention to chat, people will call them out when they find them. the most reliable way to get flow wood is be in bahari at midnight because a flow tree grove will spawn and people (usually) call out the location. you can also use a dowsing rod, but they also point to other things like heatroot and brightshroom

I am not sure if i just haven't figured it out yet, but I am feeling stuck, like I can't progress. I have to build a bunch if furniture for Tish and it requires a lot of Palium, which I can never find, and a lot of flow wood, which I can never find, and when I do, no one is around to help me chop it down. It's really hindering my desire to play. 😔

It's a set of pretty advanced quests and I would feel the same if it got dropped on me when I don't know how to find resources yet. There should be other quests to do in the meanwhile, so there's no need to only focus on the one you can't do.

Flow groves spawn at midnight game time. That's the best time to get wood. Watch for call outs in chat or flares in the sky. Palium requires you to mine iron and stone around Bahari, and then loop back to see if anything spawned. If you're not finding any stone or iron, there's probably someone just ahead of you, and the solution is to go to the other side of the map or to change servers.

Is that the only quest you have? That one shouldn’t be introduced so quick. It takes a long time to get everything. The NPC’s all have quests once you talk to them enough, they will give you a quest. Try not to stress. That quest won’t go anywhere. You can unpin it if it bothers you that it’s on your screen. I made one piece at a time. Placed them in storage. I would just check to make sure I was making the correct pieces. It’s not a task for newer players. I think they should introduce it after you are leveled enough to be able to make silk. But they throw a lot at you quick.

i have, what controller are you using? If you use a third-party controller/xbox controller it should already be supported, i hear ps5 controllers work fine too. Other controllers than that need to be synced a different way.

I use a PS4 controller which isn't supported. I've had a little success with DS4, but it was pretty buggy and needed resyncing every so often. The most success I've had and currently using is force opening Palia through Steam, since Steam has their own controller support.

What I can tell you is that when it pulses, you can see it from a looong way off. But it's too late.

nodes will get a pulsing gloweffect 2:30 mins after they were mined the first time and despawn 30s after that with the glow effect pulsing faster and faster

the glow should definitely start as soon as it was mined for better clarity tho, which is not the case atm

once it was mined it will despawn after 3 mins no matter what

I decided to do a full reinstall just to see if the update had glitched, and now everything is back to normal. ohhh so it does work like that. the patch notes kinda made it sound like it's supposed to start glowing immediately so i thought i was bugged or something. so it's even more crucial to mine nodes as soon as you find them, 30s warning is not much at all

yeah patchnotes definitely mention them having a gloweffect immediately, maybe miscommunication or it is suppose to glow the whole time but doesn't atm
30s is nothing, but at least the despawn effect looks cute, a small "poof" should definitely be changed for better clarity

Yesterday I started a flare right before I started hitting it.

So if they do go off for the same amount of time the flare ended probably right before or at the time the flare disappeared.

I've noticed that the timer for the node will only start after the node is first broken. I've found a big pal, then called it, flared it. I hit it once. Then I can wait as long as it takes for other players to come and hit. After the pal is first broken, that is when the timer starts. So whoever comes after must break it completely before it disapears. I hope that makes sense.

while this is true, it's slowing down palium spawns by delaying breaking the pal. also a lot of people are using ore compasses now and don't want to stand around waiting while their compass runs out, but if you tap it and leave with the intention of coming to pick up your drops later, apparently your drops may disappear a lot faster than they used to (possibly because the pal was broken multiple times while you were gone)

You will hear an awful lot of rumors about the potential affect of skill levels, but I've never seen real data to back them up.

Farming is pretty verified (easy to do when max is 100%). Other crafts, I've seen numbers that strongly suggest a benefit (e.g. Cooking, hunting) but not enough to prove it or to get a specific percent nailed down. Before I ran into some frustration and took a break, I was working on gathering some data for the lesser tested stuff, but I never got enough to matter.

Worth noting that there's nothing really special about level 25 (or 50), they're just easy numbers for proving data when it comes to farming. It's a flat 2% per level for farming, and 50% for starred seeds, so at those 2 levels you can easily prove 100%. I'd expect similar for other crafts where they provide x% bonus (just unknown at this time) per level vs a special level worth noting.

Something needs to change with flow tree groves. The amount of times lately where nobody calls out the location and it gets chopped by 1 or 2 players is crazy. Palia community has turned toxic. The ones that chop it down early argue in chat that group play should be optional, and they shouldnt have to wait on anyone. ive seen this happen twice now in just the last couple hours. The devs should require the grove to have a certain amount of players. I thought this was supposed to be a community game

A few of my farming tiles are out of sync. They need to be hoed before the other ones. Is there a convenient way to address this? Will picking up the plots (and re-placing hundreds of fertilizers ) do the trick or do I have to skip an entire farming cycle/not harvest for a cycle?

you could probably just not water the ones that are ahead, assuming you don't have water retention plants

someone in #🌱│gardening might have better info - personally I don't sync anything and just harvest all of 1 crop, replant, harvest all of the next crop etc.

I'm kind of doing that, but 3 potatoes in a line of 9 got out of sync somehow. I like to keep the whole plot water retained so I kind of don't want to go back and water the ones that are missed, but I think it's just one grow cycle.

You can pick up a whole plot and move it to your inventory, right? Mine have been in the same place for a long time.

i used my normal hook and the pyroflow fishing bobber i got from the fire temple. The only food i used to catch fish was fish stew and occasionally fisherman's brew. I would get a fishing buff from folks that were fishing but that was it. You just have to fight it until you catch that big guy!
