Our money does impact game play even if it’s not a pay to win. Our money is what makes the game. Our money pays the employees and developers. Our money supports the game to be able to come out of beta and every game has at least a main quest line. They are lacking or just plain lazy. They are probably stretched thin with resources. I have been a game dev for 16 years now (not for Palia) and I can tell you there is a lot that goes into creating this stuff. It takes a LONG time to get decent, bug free content pushed to production. It's almost never that the company or its resources are being lazy, but usually a financial issue or because the company wants to release a quality patch or product to everyone who will play it.

I haven’t spent a dollar on this game in months. I just want it to get back to being the game I was excited about almost 2 years ago. A huge part of beta is getting feedback from players so the devs can create the best possible version of their game. That was not a straight answer but i'll try to explain better;

Daybreak is not that big of a company. They develop DCUO which in itself is filled with licensing issues, since they are adapting DC related content.

Prior to the buyout, S6 had layoffs due to budget issues, but they announce since June/July next year that the next MAJOR content was Elderwoods but till then, we'd get smaller sized updates to keep the game running.

Now, this is a F2P game, this means their entire budget depends on selling cosmetics. They WILL obviously market that because they are not selling the game, so having big expectations for this game is not very fair considering their budget is a thousand times lesser than Epic Games or Activision level budgets.

It's not really a money grab if it's only cosmetics though. No one is forcing you to buy them to and the items in the shop don't change your gameplay or mechanics, or offer additional content. The reason why they can release this stuff is because changing a character skin is very easy to do from a dev standpoint, so they can create new skins (outfits) and release them quickly by using past ones as a template. Developing actual in game content however takes a very long time in comparison.

People forget that it's a business at the end of the day and the game wouldn't exist without the people S6 hire and need to pay as a result. So are the people supposed to work for free lol?

I would like to say this, I know the conversation has mostly past but it'd weigh on me too heavy to not state my piece. I have been a part of this game and community quite some time- not as long as some, but quite a while! I basically live here in the discord as some might have noticed. I go in and out of most of the channels and help where I can and redirect where I can't. The majority of the people in the discussions channel are some of the most caring, passionate, well articulated, kind, and hopeful people I've ever had the pleasure of sharing space with in an online forum. They're still around because they care and want to see this game succeed. Contrary to how they're often portrayed as the complainers they, as well as I, are the ones that are getting the literally life threatening, near year old bugs finally looked at and corrected. They are the ones keeping receipts so we can all be better informed and accountable. They are the ones submitting pages upon pages of feedback including the many things and points of data and voices of player majority opinions so this game can improve in the ways we want it to. Please, I truly ask, try to stop dividing these channels into us vs. them because it really hurts people like me who genuinely love occupying both and all spaces within the community here in many of our favorite games of all time. You got these torches from Sifuu during your quest in the Temple of flames, have you completed that quest? If not, T||hese torches are used to light up the braziers as you progress through the first part of the quest. First one is a small light brazier on the left hand side of the mural wall.. then you continue on using these torches inside to light up the large floor braziers that open up doors for you||

( NB: You only need one torch, don't ask sifuu for anymore.. (You can place the extra torch in your storage inventory at plot later to keep slots free in your quest inventory. Simply drag one of these torches when you are back on your plot to any chest and it stays there, it takes zero space up)

most have a reset button at the back.. depends on your monitor where it is located.
