With everyone's suggestions, I'd also like to add... you should concentrate on what you enjoy. You'll most likely do it more, so grinding it will get you more income. For instance, if someone told me fishing makes great money, I wouldn't make much because I hate it and get bored. I really enjoy running around hunting though and because I do enjoy it, I've found ways to be really efficient at it and gotten really good at it through practice, so it makes me great coin. And then yes, absolutely, have passive income, farm your crops and put them into preserve jars. Join cake parties as well, have you done one before?

There's ways to MAXIMISE profit but that doesn't mean someone is only farming for fun if they don't have a specific set up, they're still farming as passive income if they have it set up differently for their aesthetic and use fertilisers. Telling someone they are only doing it for fun and not for money can come across really rude. My plot is set up to fit the look I'm going for. I don't find it fun to farm, but it still makes me money. It might not be as much as certain set ups but I still make money on it with the benefit of it suiting my aesthetic.

Yeah some of the parties can be pretty hectic, like each to their own, one of the biggest premises of Palia is to play together but some can be really tone deaf or just straight up greedy. I've noticed an awful pattern of some super toxic parties going and clearing groves together. To me, that's one thing you leave for all players, if you don't want to flare or shout out lone ft or any palium, etc, like that's fine but clearing a grove and watching the chat where everyone is wasting their time trying to find it is really poor behaviour.

The only way that it's "better" is that it doesn't break, so it won't need to be repaired. But the upgraded bows can shoot farther and use the better arrows (meaning more damage per hit).

I didn't say the makeshift is worse, I said it has a shorter range. In order to properly test any theory, you change one variable in the same environment. In this case, we are comparing bows, so you would only change the bow. You wouldn't change the angle or how high you're raising the bow. You can achieve the same result with both bows, but my point was that one bow reaches the target at a further distance without my needing to change anything about my shot.

Okay. @plain wing I've done the testing. So, with makeshift you can still make the same range, however, you have to make adjustments to to hit your targets. My best advice, use what you're comfortable with. The exquisite has its advantage with ADS lower than with other bows, but they all fundamentally work the same. It's just a matter of figuring out how to make the arrows arch.

a million years ago it seems, someone said they like the range of the exquisite bow. the point has been made that the makeshift bow technically has the "same range" as long as you make adjustments on your end. my point is that when testing any theory, you only change one variable. if you test both bows while also changing how you're shooting the thing, then it's not a proper test. if you change nothing about the way you are shooting the arrow, the exquisite bow is capable of hitting a target that is further away.

I think everyone already reached their own conclusion. Semantically, "bows have the same range" is correct. Functionally, to reach the same range, you need extra steps (changing the angle).

I can't hang curtains on windows, some not even on walls. To make it even worse, when I used them on the modification bench it shows the names of the different colours but the curtains don't display in that colour - they stay the colour you get them. So, at least for me, the curtains are useless and robbed me of resources.

Of course. I hate bringing food when hunting because I want to keep that room for more valuables. If I'm fishing or foraging, something minimal, then food is brought, but for anyone else, if you're going hunting, forget about food. Bug catching, you can bring some if you're going for the 6pm-3am hunts of fairies and paper lantern bugs.

The modification bench preview is kinda broken. If you rotate the object in the preview it should update the colour. That said, one of the curtains only have a tiny strip that changes.

The curtains are meant to go over the regular small window and regular large window. They were apparently not designed for the Kilima Window extension (if that is the correct name... the one you have to actually build), not doors (although some fit over the small doorway). It is possible to attach them to the Kilima Window and doorways if you glitch.

It does seem weird if you are unable to attach them to bare walls though. I haven't tried the curtains too much myself, but they might need more space on the side than it initially looks like they do.
