I had a fun encounter today at Maji market where someone apparently had asked me to move from a spot while I was AFK. Then after popping balloons they had to repeat themselves and say I should be more courteous about others "personal space"(?).

But yeah, apparently they said I was dense for not seeing their initial message and then went on a rampage about it being their spot as if one can claim a certain spot for themselves and nobody is allowed to be there 😅

I will say though, I used to be nice in the beginning of the market. If someone was already at my pole, I'd go to the other pole so I wouldn't be in their face. But eventually everyone just kept coming to my pole when I was their first. I never complained, never said anything in chat, not a single rude word, but eventually I just said "well, if everyone does that to me, I'll do that too", and now I just go to the pole no matter if people are there or not. They don't own that pole, my pole, mine!

So, I just walked around outside the Kilima village to see what plants are there to figure out what plants to use for my Kilima bug diorama... and I've just realised how devoid the outside of Kilima is of plantlife. There is seriously so little plantlife outside of the village itself. It is just 98% cat tails around the waters, 1% bush I can't get and that's it.

If I'm understanding correctly that was my plan. Pillar hidden in wall, builders floor hidden under conservatory floor at the right height to make bath stick up. But since I can't move the bird bath once its placed (it still registers as placed on ground instead of placed on floor) I don't quite know if it can be done. But might just be my brain not braining.

I'd have to move the conservatory to place the pillars and all, then trick-move the pillar away to place conservatory back, then reload plot. Hmm... maybe it could work, but would still need object flicking.

Well, if the offer still stands I can do the rest of the setup for it.

Why does the player get to customise a romance pin (only slightly) and yet the pin given to the player by a majiri gets no description whatsoever and is implied by the icon to be a tiny silver portrait of them ? And not like “hey human here’s my interpretation of what reminds me of us, lovingly carved/sculpted/welded into a pin”

Make sure you have the loom crafter - the recipe can be purchased from the Furniture Guild Shop. Once you've reached level 2, talk to me and access the Guild Shop for the recipe!

Or you can even buy the leather/fabric/silk directly from my store! (Look for the cash register.)

Leather comes from animal hide, fabric comes from cotton, and silk comes from silk thread obtained from rare bugs.

You know what, you are right. I thought pets didn't have collision (especially considering the absurd movement and places they end up in). Butterflies and all I expected, not pets. No idea how collision would affect chapaa chase (too chaotic and crowded to do actual tests), but I'll remember to put it away for the balloon pop... although I'm always on a pole so I don't think it's in the way often.

Even tho it’s buggy beyond the veil, I might be the one person in Palia that prefers CC over PAC 😂 I feel like PAC is just gonna speedrun me getting severe carpel tunnel with the spam clicking and the not-so-obvious way of knowing if I’ve even hit a balloon or not or if it’s someone else that popped it 😂 my first ever game of CC was my smoothest (bc I imagine not many ppl had joined yet when the event had just started?) but it was so fun and at that point the chapaa:player ratio was better lol 😂

CC is in concept actually more entertaining than the balloon popping. But the extreme lack of enough chapaas, the extremely awful rewards for it, and the competitiveness it fosters from the way the devs have balanced it + having to find ways to compensate for lag and all ruins it for me.

PAC could have been better for people who are subject to hand issues if there was an auto-fire button much like auto-walk. Then the focus would be on aim and timing aim between shots.

I seem to not be able to figure out how to get auto sprint to work 💀 I’m just dumb. Like I’ve at the very least figured out the toggle to run/jog but I still hold down the button.
Sadly CC isn’t a problem really, but shooting in PAC is a nightmare for me - especially when I find a good spot to chill on and then someone comes along and walks almost on top of me to block my camera from any angle lmao

It's not gonna solve all the other problems, but for me at least setting the fov in the graphics options to max (130) seems to unintentionally also help with that. Takes a bit getting used to the weird camera, but the added view helps for me at least.

@south kiln I made sure not to move camera between changing the options. FOV 90 vs 130. Kept the gridlines on to make it easier to compare. At first difference might seem small, but it is enough to help me in most cases. When there's three people on "my fairground pole" I am still able to see where I shoot.

i think the problem for me is the lack of ways to make tickets. at lunar, i could play hot pot all night. and i suspect one of the reasons i averaged 10 more chased chaapas a night is bc ppl were engaged in a mini game and didn’t disengage from hot pot to participate in the chase.

i also struggle with not knowing whether or not i’ve hit a balloon, it’s v frustrating fs. and the emptiness of a server shouldn’t dictate your success in any one game; i feel like that’s part of what made hot pot so successful (other than the fact that it’s rull fun to play.) but it’s a game of strategy and thinkies and lasted the whole market and was so loved they made it a thing you could just play every ig day. i think you might’ve not even walked away from the market with as many tickets as you can now, but esp as a controller user who’s had to hone their bow aim to accommodate the aim assist, it’s been especially difficult to have to try to unlearn that for 3 minutes an ig day! (i’m particularly bitter cos i had to spend the first market on handheld Switch when i COULD play…)

i think the entertainment value of either activity is dependent upon someone’s personal preferences. i’ve never liked chaapa chase. do i think PAC couldve been implemented better? absolutely! have i ever liked chaapa chase? never did, and i suspect i never will. there’s nothing fun to me about “stealing” a chaapa from someone. it’s just not clear to me why they keep bringing it back, other than presumably it’s supposed to be a callback to the first one? idk it’s too competitive for a game that stresses how much it wants players to get together.

It's a bit more than that. Pillars and bath are ground locked. So if I got everything right:

• Move conservatory away
• Move wood pillar/floor to their mathed position.
• Object flick bath onto position on floor
• Fake move pillar, floor and bath away so it will let me put observatory back
• Reload plot so they pop back to their previous place (and merge with conservatory)
• Fake move shrine-thingy
• Object flick pillars onto conservatory floor at soup bowl math position
• Reload again, done.

has anyone else, "lost" their potato pods?? i had my duplicates in my chest storage, ready for trading, and they are no longer there. I am so upset, has anyone else had this issue? I placed 7 of my pods on my plot, but the duplicates i put in storage, the ones on my plot are still there, but the ones from storage are gone. Anyone else have this issue??
