For certain skills there's higher xp gained for specific things, for example furniture making with common and uncommon furniture, then cooking with huge variances in xp gained depending on which food you make, for example sernuk soup versus celebration cake.

Yeah I knew about the different xp levels, but like I go on an ore hunt every day whereas I only harvest crops like every other.

It's not just you. I do not cook in game unless it's for a quest/new recipe or bundle. I do SO much cooking irl I can't bring myself to stand at a stove in game. And there's no problem with your skills being different levels.

Here's an example of what I was describing with varying xp levels/gain within skill levels. It's definitely similar for mining with mining pal/getting gems maybe even being highest xp. Would honestly be interested to see these data points in one centrally located place someday!
