I'd say so. I have three harvest houses and one grand harvest house, and a few rooms added on. Lots of decor. I'd say it's safe to invest in fencing but maybe start with log cabin fencing or picket fencing though you may not have unlocked emberborn fencing yet. As for alternatives I guess some people use trees.

A good tip for hunting the magic muujin is to have someone chop the tree and you hit it with a slowdown arrow first, it will give the other person time to switch from their axe to their bow and try to get a hit also.
