This is what happened to Shelby, she thought since she had the Gardener statue it meant she'd automatically have a chance at a ft seed, but couldn't get one even with the server hopping thing. So I was providing context because you do have to do another quest (and finish it, I recall having to visit the gardener like 3 times(?)) post receiving the statue to be able to get a chance at ft seeds. If the quest "the gardener's new Oneness" is completed in your quest log, the ft seed chances are yours

My best advice (at least that I've found) is mine ores as much as possible. Get ALLLLLLL those gems that you get from mining. Because some of those ores sell for a TON.

While you're out mining tho, make sure you have crops growing so you're making good use of your time
