probably not. They are dropping the money making ball so hard. They don't know how to market a digital retail store. Like why do they think all the big MMO's have gifting options, more reasonably priced currency, more reasonable prices that the currency pays for and so many options of things to buy. They are trying to compete with larger MMO's that have it down to what people actually want etc. They might only want the hat from a set, or any pet other than a cat and they aren't listening. There has been much feedback turned in by everyone and still nothing changes. Do I blame the developers...not really I think these choices that are being made by people that don't really know how digital retail shops work at higher levels of management. Now don't get me wrong, some will buy no matter the cost, but the reality is that a lot of gamers are on a tight budget and they could exponentially increase their sales if they made some small, but at the same time huge changes.

You can turn chat off in settings. From default mode to streamer, chat off mode. However it'll just turn back on at some point because they don't know how to fix it.

I love how this game is very much play at your own pace and the only goals are manageable with a few loftier challenges like fishing and bug catching (gotta catchemall) and actually seem to be in the minority when I say I enjoy the RNG and how the odds are against me- I'd be so quick to min max otherwise as this is definitely hyperfixation game material for me.

I've been playing fairly on/off since open beta to be honest so I cannot give a proper answer on this- but I think the essence is that they've been trying to balance things based on feedback. And getting that balance is hard when you have a good chunk of the player base be absolute grinders, and the other chunk being casual players. ;;
the exp curve for skills, the accesibility of materials and everything else you mentioned is all apart of said balance.

They've made changes that SHOULD overall help the majority of the player base but it's still a bit tough to get it quite right.

I personally don't think they're trying to make you quit- but rather, they're in the process of figuring things out. I'm sure you're not the only one who feels this way!

As it is in Beta, I think if you're experiencing burn out and the so called ''feeling like the game wants me to quit'' then there is nothing wrong with being more casual and playing it at a pace that might feel better for you until the issues you have with the game are sorted out

Pallium is more spread out I feel, and I've been struggling with it too- but they've added those flare markers on the map that can help you find rare materials which I thought was quite nice.

Closed and open beta had nothing like that and honestly.. it was so painful.

I think they added a lot of awesome quality of life changes, that also affect the overal balance- in both good and bad ways ngl.

The balance isn't perfect but the overall gameloop to me feels a bit better than it used to back in the beginning of closed and open beta

and! the most awesome thing is that the devs are doing a lot of things based on feedback specifically. So if you're passionate about the game def leave them that feedback 😄

@outer patio So I am apart of several major communities, and my gf is a streamer. What I can say from the communities I speak with, I know lots of the hardcore grinders. who they are frustrated about the cake parties, but mostly, they just want more new content. so all the changes to getting resources/gold have been bad even by their standards.

As for the casual players, Most feel like they HAVE to be hard core grinders to get anything done now. Im kind of in the middle. Im not quiet a grinder, but I play pretty heavy, and I can tell you, I feel defeated. Progressing at this point takes way too long. "

I think this is awesome feedback and I wholeheartedly agree. As I mentioned above, it's really just a balance thing.

They made changes they thought could be helpful- which honestly- they were, but it still didn't change the main issue at hand.

I think the changes were very much a quality of life, but didn't solve the issue at hand which for pallium specifically was the lack of consistent resources. 😅

Logging on and feeling like you cannot make consistent progress is always going to be a defeating feeling. Cause in some ways, that's not your fault but the games design-

So I agree, and with Julian I can see what they mean, sometimes you find lots of nodes, other times, they are super rare and hard to find. I feel by them taking out the permanent nodes it just feels like a painful game of hide and seek, on a very large map.

The flares are nice, but the nodes often despawn by the time people get to the flared spot, unless they were close to start with, it may be that increasing node time after being mined would help with this.

I don't know about your communties, but I do know a lot of mine are quitting, I understand they are trying to find a balance, but I think it was better at the start, the point is for it to be relaxing and you to be able to build your dream home and have fun as a group, be an MMO. but yet, they nerf cake parties, which discouraged a lot of group play. You cant quest together, the temples you cant all go into. When Palium nodes were permanent, I would gather with strangers and friends alike and we all would take turns hitting the nodes, building good community gameplay.

It jsut feels like they are losing sight of their mission, making it very hard to progress so people dont get tired of the game so quickly, but its having the opposite effect on most people I know, where they want to quit faster because they feel progressing is so pointless now, when instead of nerfing community play and progression, they could have been focusing that energy on building more content. Shops in Bahari, a new zone where maybe FT's and Palium are like Iron and heartwood are two suggestions to start.

I agree that maybe they should take a look at the despawn timers of the nodes. Unless someone calls immediately after they loot, it's pretty difficult to run across the map and make it in time. Also a lot of newer people don't know it's good etiquette to call med/large pal.

Agree #2 on it being really strange that they nerfed a lot of the group activities. I thought that was the whole point of the game so it's... odd to me. I can only hope they'll take a second look at that and add some more back in or make them more worthwhile.

First off, I love the thought and energy put into this.

As I mentioned earlier, i've been really on and off since the beginning of open-beta as i was a no-lifer during closed beta and at the beginning of the open-beta haha.

A lot of these things I def think are things you notice when you play the game more consistently than I do.

These are all valid thoughts as well, and I can see how it feels like they're straying from their ''mission''.

I think it probably stems from them trying to make changes that people want through feedback.

I'm really hoping that the community speaking up on these matters will help, and they'll slowly but surely paddle their way back to the path they were on.
As Julian mentioned, it is a game in beta- some things won't work the way it was intended.

Some things are simple fixes I feel but they're not the biggest team either and might be having issues on the inside we're unaware of. I want to believe in this game though, so I'll continue staying optimistic- but also, I'm not the most active player either.
I play a lot during new patches/events and such and that's pretty much it! 😭

I enjoy cooking with newer people and tend to host newbie sessions for cakes, focus foods, bundle foods, and quest or gifting! Group cooking can be intimidating at first, and I definitely felt a bit out of my depth at my first cake party, but I've now leveled my cooking skill to 52 and it's one of my fav things to do now in game!

I have thought about a good way around the good etiquette. sadly that ones hard to get aorund as you see it even in Flow Groves, where people get impatient and cut the trees almost instantly. I feel the timers are the answer to that, specially if they put timers on flow trees once cut. But I do agree maybe making the timers so they last as long as a flare? thats what? 3? 5? min?

As for group activities I agree full heartedly. so many of my friends feel like this game was hyped up as a group and community game, but is falling short on that. I hope they eventually at least make the temples open to groups, and bring more incentive to flow tree farming and palium farming as a group in the future.

Just yesterday I helped someone who kept getting stuck at their mixing table, they couldn't progress past the food quests because of it, and it makes me sad to know there's people out there that struggle so hard with cooking stuff like that, so I try to help whoever I can with cooking.

I appreciate it, but I cant take the credit, as I said, I am part of a several large communities, and a lot of my feedback comes from knowing them and other players and sadly, seeing a lot of players leave and hearing why.
I am very loyal to S6 and Palia, but I do see the pain people are going through with the game atm, and feel it myself. I used to LOVE Palium farming, and now it feels so pointless and ruined.
The game strives to let people relax and build their dream home, farm or quest, go around and hang out with the Npcs, and I get its suppose to be a stretch, but I started a new plot right after the Palium nerf where they got rid of the Permanent nodes. Due to that, this new plot, has taken me a very long time to build, and I've gotten very little progress decorating inside, just due to lack of mats. So I struggle to see how their mission for the game is still being held true in that regard, as well as the community regard.

I do think a new zone could solve a lot of the problems, make it a zone thats a late game zone, maybe you have to get through some of the temples to access it? but its much more abundant in Palium and Flow trees, and maybe has new shops and challenges to explore?

Purposely not tagging since you're going to bed, but I'm wanting to add to this.

Dungeons. Dungeons. Dungeons. And I don't mean dungeons in the Fighting/Combat side of things simliar to WoW or anything. I mean dungeons where maybe you have to solve puzzles with 1-2 other players (pressure plates, levers). Dungeons where you might have to do super basic quests in a sense (gathering specific ore in the dungeon/place and putting it in a location, etc...) Make the "reward" for finishing to be materials-- more than you normally would get if you farmed for it and ran around a zone.

It'd help with the Multiplayer aspect and feeling, along with being rewarded for it and possibly helping with the material aspect.

Temples could also haev at least 1 other player to help with some of the parkour, and if you fail 3-5 times, then they could help "tp" you on the other side. Or find a way to unlock an alternate path for the other player, etc. Again, would help with the community vibe, but it'd also just help with it feeling more accessible in some areas, too.
