It's unbalanced. Cooking fish often makes it less valuable. But like turning peppers into preserves is definitely better than just selling the peppers.

compared to let's say Stardew valley processing stuff in Palia simply isn't worth it

Yeaaah... I've gotten in almost fights about this before, but I think the goal is not to make everything about the gold. You make something because you need it. But agreed, there's some balancing issues all over.

Id be ok I think if everything worked on the ratio that spicy peppers do... I think you're growing something like 150% on that. But if you went from rocks, to glass, to bulbs, gaining by a factor of 1.5 material cost each time, that would totally make it worth it to me. Similar, like to say, to stardew or other games like that.

It's definitely no easy task to balance the economy in a game like this. I suspect that is why we can't sell furniture yet. The balancing is tough and really needs some serious player data to mack it up. They're certainly paying attention to the in-game economy, and we see it in things like changing the prices of the star stones and balancing some of that kind of stuff, if I had to guess I'd say they were waiting for more player data to understand how pricing furniture is going to affect the economy. My guess is that in order to make furniture sellable at a price that is comparable to what it takes to get all of the materials and stuff to make it would mean that many of us would become instant gazillionaires because of all the furniture. We currently have stashed and it would be a bit game breaking at least at first. I suspect they're looking to establish a fairly robust data model before they look into being able to sell furniture

Yeah you definitely don't want to end up with a game. That's all about the gold. At that point you basically end up with one of those idle clickers and the whole wonderful world is just ignored. There is definitely balancing that needs to happen, but that's the whole point of betas. The thing that really makes me happy is that they seem to have a really good sense of what they want the game to feel like and what rhe gameplay should be, so I don't think that's a pothole they're likely to fall into

Gardening is the base, that makes about 50000+ a day if I get a lot of time to play. Then it's fishing and bugs for me 🙂 I play a lot, so that helps

Gardening is my biggest. It scales a lot when you can unlock preserves jars. Also good when you can get worm farms going. Mining is also big for me. Gems sell for a lot and the seem to be more common recently. Fishing and hunting feel like low earners now, though I feel like they were better early-game. Bugging... Let's just don't talk about bugging... Let someone who can actually hit a danged bug answer that one lol

If you want to save your worms when fishing for a specific fish, there is a feature where if a fish bites and you don't want it, don't click to hook it and let it swim away! Afterwards you can reel your rod back in to fish again and it'll save you the worm you used! I hope this helps ✨

Which fish? Also, there's a trick to not waste so much bait. If the fish you hook is NOT the fish you want, just let it swim away, then recast your line. If the fish you DO want swims away, just leave your line in the water and it'll come back

They do lock it behind some progression, though. You need to get a few levels in furniture making before Tish lets you buy the blueprint for the Loom. If you get a bunch of logs / planks / etc. - start making one of every piece of furniture that you can to level furniture making.

Once you unlock the loom, it'll let you make leather and cloth.

At level 6 furniture making, you'll unlock the ability to make silk.

The thing I think is most frustrating is that this game isn't designed for single-minded people. If you go out for iron, and you get a bunch of rare bugs spawning, it's frustrating to many people because then they have to stop mining to get the rare bugs. If you go for 1000 iron and come back with 800 iron and 80 palium, 3 fairy mantises, 1 jeweled dragonfly, and 1 rainbow butterfly as well as massive amounts of stone, briar daisies, and even a few fish... Like that's my playstyle. I thrive on the randomness of material gathering .

Actually the seeders are a little annoying when making seeds from starred 1:4 crops because the hopper thinks the output is going to be nonstarred, so it stops after making 64 seeds (two stacks and 4) so you can only afk process 16 starred 1:4 vegetables at a stretch

It should just let you equip it, are you switch or PC? Leftclick and rightclick do different things to the pin, I think Leftclick on the pin to get the popup for wearing it
