it makes sene, actually. Salt's purpose is to emphasize flavors when used in a small quantity. That way you can use less product but really make the flavors pop. So basically you might like a more potent earl grey.

Ahh, okay. If you want to go cross-platform between PC/Switch, be ready to login to your existing Palia account on the Switch the first time you open the game on your desired profile - that's the only time you can link the two for cross-system play. 🙂

When you approach them to talk to them there a gift box w/a ? that’s how you find out what they want. Then there’s a plain gift box, that’s how you give them what they want.

You can gift villagers every day, however, if it's their desired weekly gifts, it'll give you a bonus on the relationship bar. Starting on monday, you can ask them once per irl day what is their desired gift of the week (the last button of the three appearing on the left of their dialogue box), as well as you have a chance to give them a gift (second button). Level 1 or 2 friendships will make them tell you something they'd like, level 3 and 4, somthing they'd love.

Nope, that’s your villager gifting system so to speak. Sometimes they will tell you what someone close to them wants instead of asking for themselves.

Weekly, there's 2 things they'd like and 2 things they'd love. Giving them their weekly liked gift will give you like... idk, say, 10 friend points for example. But if you get them a loved gift, well that'll give you 20 points. You have to be careful though, as sometimes when you ask them they'll tell you something someone else wants, not themselves. Like if I ask Tish and she says "I want a butterfly", that's a gift for herself. But if I ask her and she tells me "Jel told me he was craving petit fives", that's a gift Jel wants, not her.

The geyser gets you to the base of the lighthouse. If you want the top, you have to go inside and climb.

Any uncommon or rarer bug will get you silk. The ones I get most of my silk from are the purple ones that pop out from underneath rocks you mine in Bahari Bay.

Look for the vampire crabs, the purple grasshoppers in Bahari, etc, the green glow bugs (not the blue ones!), etc - all of these are uncommon or rarer.

You water your plants and at certain hour the game has to check and determine if it should let them grow, let them be thirsty again, or make weed spawn on them (weed prevents them from growing :c). But if you just let them be and water them daily you're gonna eventually see knapweed

because APAC is new o: heres the timeline:

Step 1. people from NA and EU could usually play no problem, switching servers around.
Step 2. Suddenly one day, half the people on ALL servers were kicked out while others were trapped in their house plots. Something about "a version of the launcher being outdated" even though all were updated and we had had no updates.
Step 3. S6 had to intercede and try to fix it.
Step 4. The usual fixes didn't work so they kicked everyone out of the game and did an F5 on the servers to freshen them up and roll.
Step 5. Suddenly people could play again, but people from EU were having problems getting stuck at their homes or being unable to go home if they played with friends from NA
Step 6. S6 decided to stop interconnectivity between continents while they figure out what happens AFTER the switch launch since this problem was kinda unexpected
Step 7. APAC server is launched, we dont know if they're gonna have the problem or not yet.
Step 8. Christmas holidays so we gonna have to wait for january.

You can only use one stove to start a recipe, but then can sometimes use the other stove to do parts of that recipe -- so for instance, if you're making meaty stir fry, you'll use one oven to start the recipe, a prep table to chop things, and the other stove to make the rice, then will finish it off on the first stove.

You'll be actively working on only one recipe at a time because you have to do all the cooking steps; you can't run two recipes simultaneously yourself.

If someone else was there, they could help you make the recipe or they could use the other stove, but it's better to have them help you to make one batch at a time - that way, they can supply some of the ingredients and you both get the resulting food.

Try cooking a recipe on the stove and look at all the steps it requires, and it'll suddenly make a lot more sense. Sticking meat over a fire is easy. Baking a cake is more complex.

Oh, sure. You can build two separate kitchens and you and someone else can be in two separate kitchens if you want - but it's faster if you're both in the same kitchen making the same dish.

The plainest way I can explain it: when you're using one of the cooking fires, it's "put food in and wait". However, when you're cooking at the stove, it's not - for instance, to make meaty stir fry, I have to start the recipe on one stove, chop 3 separate things on the prep station, stir the pot on the stove, make the rice on my second stove, add the ingredients, stir the pot on the stove again -- and then I have that recipe done. And you're timed, so if you take too long it burns.

If you need materials to build your house, it's likely stone bricks and softsap lumber - mine stone in Kilima Valley and chop down trees in Kilima Valley, make enough gold to buy the furnace and a wood cutter, and turn the stone into bricks and the wood into lumber 🙂

||You need to reach lvl 2 (or 3? but I think 2) in both mining and foraging/woodcutting, at both respective levels Hodari and Ashura will let you buy recipes for the machines to make planks and stone bricks. You'll need to put wood and stone in the machines!
I'd suggest not being conservative with your food either like I was, it helps a lot with leveling up||

Villagers all have things they like, and those things change each RL week. In addition, as Hat said, you can only gift each villager once per RL day.

If you open the dialogue menu with them, the bottom left button will allow them to tell you about one thing that either they or another villager want. But most villagers have some base things they'll accept whenever -- for instance, Tau will never turn down grilled meat. 😄 (but what dog WOULD turn down grilled meat?)

Am I wrong to feel like all of the communal aspect of this game is being stripped out? Groves mean people don't really get together to farm flow, the new palium spawns mean nobody seems to call it out or form mining parties, I was in Bahari for 2 hours tonight and saw 3 other players and the server was stone quiet. It feels like the whole vibe of the game is entirely different and not in a good way.

It's hit or miss with those because if there's no palium to direct you to at the moment, it sends you to the next best thing (which is iron). Unfortunately that's the downfall of them right now. 😦

If we're still seeing a downturn in activity in Jan, then I feel like there's a genuine problem, but I can't say it's the case yet -- we had two big patches, a HUGE upturn in activity for the new temple, then the Switch release (which was crazy all last week), and now people are just going "whew" after all that stuff back to back and focusing on holiday stuff. 2: Depends on what you like to do. Anything can make money, but I recommend mining/chopping trees/picking plants in Kilima for early game -- you can sell them at Zeki's shop without running home, and you can fix your tools at Sifuu's forge.

This, if you're after palium, you have to mine regular rock and iron in order for palium to spawn there later. So your best course is to do a loop and get the iron and rock, then loop again to check for palium.

Rocks are mineable throughout both Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay. (If you like having rocks at your home plot, don't mine them all as they do not respawn!) The ones in Kilima/Bahari do respawn regularly. In Kilima, you'll find clay, stone, and copper. In Bahari, you'll find stone, iron, and palium.

They spawn only in Bahari Bay at midnight in game, you will hear a weird ghostly sound indicating the spawn, then you need to look for a pink glowing cloud in the sky and watch general server for people to call out the location.

If you're in Bahari Bay at midnight and one spawns close to you, there is a loud sound, you'll know.

Second campfire is actually useful -- after you've done some fishing, you can grill fish on both at the same time. 🙂 Second sawmill will be useful later!

It is, same with the treasure chests and waterlogged chests, the chests also don't count against home inventory storage, only backpack storage.

They could, but they had low latency and so some people in Apac waited to play until there was a more regional server

They should add some kind of incremental barrier. The longer a flow tree remains unchopped, the weaker it gets or something. That way you could eventually solo them if server is dead or ignores your pleas.

Depends on whether you consider the native Switch keyboard interface (where you're using the directional sticks to move a pointer to a letter and then clicking, etc) as being "borked". I can say it made me avoid chatting while playing ACNH with friends if I didn't have the Nook app open -- but then again, people may not chat much anyway.

But unfortunately there’s a bug fix I have to now wait for if I wanna visit a friends plot as the game crashes on switch if me or them tried to access their plot which is more developed then mine on Switch. this game's controller support is not fully complete and playing on switch makes it glaringly obvious. there are several things that straight up do not work if you try to use a controller to do them. such as moving items out of overflow.

The problem I have with the whole thing is that they promised a lot more than they have delivered so far. Even though it is a beta, the full version should be out this winter. So far there has been no announcement of a roadmap of what is to be expected. That doesn't make you feel quite so positive
