There isn't much in the game for player to player trading, but S6 has said that they are not opposed to the idea. Right now, making gold is mostly a solo effort and you are only selling stuff to NPCs or the shipping bin at your place

You are able to "request" a small amount of items from other players if you need, but it's mainly for if you are just short on something that you need at the moment if that makes sense

I had a similar thing on my first pin quest where I didn't physically get a pin but I was able to go to the last npc and give it to them anyway to complete the quest.
