OK I can see how they did it on Wynncraft: It is still just as in Skyblock a "Treasure Chest" opened but the resource pack loads a custom texture - the Tooltips are done via invisible items placed on the chest grid at the location where the menu buttons of their texture is located. The additional "equipment slots" in their inventory is just made by using the first 5 item slots of your default inventory as slots for what to equip ... there is not much else happening

My point is: Now that we are on a higher Minecraft Version with 1.21.5 on Skyblock through the Foraging Update we are able to create ourselves or get delivered directly from Hypixel, resource packs that allow us to make the UI of menus not shitty

What we were trying to find out is: How can a resource pack in minecraft determine what menu was opened, there must be some file that says "If a chest with this label is open, apply this texture to its chest menu"

Yet we can not find any documentation about it

I just tried to somehow download the freaking wynncraft resource pack but that is one hell of a drug because they really try to secure their assets - it does not get placed inside the "server-resource-pack" directory, the file downloaded is an archive but actually not (.zip file extension but 7z and zip call it "not an archive")

Well the documentation you can find about server resource packs everywhere online is that the resouce packs of servers are downloaded and then placed under ".minecraft/server-resource-packs/

2. Go to #Releases
3. Go to the latest release
4. Download that release (it's on the page at the bottom in the assets section the .jar)
5. Put that file into your mods folder we opened in step 1
6. Remove any old Skytils/BSMod versions in the folder from step 1
