Yeah
Ok
In English, Daisy Duck's nieces are called April, May, and June.
In German, they are called Dicky, Dacky, and Ducky.
Which names do you prefer?
🇩🇪 for German
🇺🇸 for English
What does dw shortcut means?
Don't worry
thanks the answer! ❤️
Buzz off means doing the sound of buzz in away (off) right and that means go away
Its how the idiomic phrases works ?
no. its just a saying like say, a person is annoying you
you would say "buzz off"
Where am i wrong at
Buzz : its voice
Off : away
Buzz off : make buzzing sound away
Saying "Buzz off" would mean that you want someone to leave or stop being around
I wouldn't consider it an idiomatic phrase
It is
Hmm, well maybe
Its saying like it in wikipedia
Mind if I see?
Wktionary
I cant send pic here
Its not working
Cant u look
By urself
Do u know what buzz is
And off
?
you arent lvl 5 thats why you cant send pictures
Buzz can mean many things. It can be the sound a bee makes, or referring to a hair cut, or a telephone call
I don't think so
Buzz : sound of ber makes
Off : away
Buzz off : make bee sound away
In idioamtic way
Or an insect, I mean
Like when a bug is flying around you, and it won't stop, it's buzzing around you
Right
But its idioamtic ofc we cant do that sound
Its refering to talking
Yes ?
Its figuratively
Isnt there a teacher here he’d say ure right why u guys keep being opposite of me
idiomatic phrases are phrases that mean something else than what's spoken
yea
For example: That's the last straw!
Mhm
what we are saying is somewhat correct
well what i said was ok
but pollygater is actually HELPING you
Why use buzz then
Yes it is
I know
To tell someone to "Buzz off", it's like if you wanted someone to leave, like an annoying fly
yes BUZZ by itself is a noise
but with "buzz OFF" it means what i and pollygator said
Well, we use "Buzz" because we would see someone bothering us as being like an flying bug annoying us
Yes
I wouldn't think of it as two individual words, but as a phrase that has one meaning when combined
Yes, what you are saying is technically true, but splitting it into two removes it's meaning
he did this to me yesterday
Those two words by themselves don't make the meaning, it's the two words combined that makes the meaning
it made ZERO since lol
No, you wouldn't
U can
Using the two words as one phrase forms the meaning of "Buzz off"
“Buzz there and annoy them”
Hmm...
bruh im in highschool...
I guess so, but I wouldn't use the word buzz, rather a synonym
Buzz is verb right
I have to head to college, sorry. Wish I could help more
no you werent tho
U can look at the origin of going to
"to go" is not a place
im done with this...why ask questions that you say you are correct to...
when you GOOGLE it lol
makes no sense
Google doesnt show its origin
Or how was it invented
Google says “ it is this “
Not how and why
or use wikipedia
then why ask...when you have the answer lol
Where
Everyone goes highschool
yuh
I'm thinking, if I say, "fell free to decide it yourself" would it be kinda aggressive?
no it wouldnt
It's being considerate to the other person asking them what they want to do and you would agree with them or something like that
Hi, i'm doing a translation of ma survey and need some help, so if you could tell me what words should i use i'll be grateful.
- There are two options for communication in discord - chatting using text and speaking via voice. I picked Chatting (mostly by text) and Voice communication, but not certain that it's the best, maybe you can tell me something more suitable?
- There are 5 kind of settlements in the survey, and two of them translated both as small towns, but in first there are from 50 to 300k inhabitants, and in second one from 12 to 50k. I used 'small town' for first and 'smaller town' for the second, is it ok?
- There is a point called 'Feeling like that I'm just one of a million people like me' - is it sounds good?
- I use word "application" for Discord, is it ok?
- Is CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) enough, or maybe i should point what countries are included into it?
I think these one most problematic ones.
And maybe, if you could spend some time and watch the whole survey, that would be even better..
Is that homework?
nope, i study data analysis and it's kinda a work that i want to do)
oh ok
anyways you should ask Topaz or someone native
cause I don't really know how to help you
Oh ok, i'll try to ask him)
I think that's her but you can try
I'm a man
Oh sorry then
You don't have to apologize
Idk why i thought you were a woman
Possibly because someone named themselves Topaz at one point and was a woman here
Hello @flat rune ! I'd love to help, and I have some feedback and possible answers regarding the questions you posted.
- Using both text and speech is probably the best way for language development on discord, so you're on the right track there. As for something more suitable, do you mean outside of discord, or within it?
- It's technically not wrong, so if that's what you mean, then yes it's ok. It really depends on your definition of a small town. To me, I would consider the first one a "City", and the second one just a small town. That's just me though.
- Like number 2, it's technically fine, but wordy. If it was up to me, I'd say something like "I'm like a million other people". Also, it's "Does it sound good", not "is it sounds good" :)
- Yes, that works. You could also call it a "Social network" or an "Instant messaging platform", or maybe even a "Social media site", although I don't necessarily agree that it is.
- Depends on how big you want it to be, and how large of an area you want to cover. If that's what in your area, then I think it works well enough, all depends on you though
Can someone tell me the answer and reason?
B
And it's because all the other answers don't fit
answer A example sentence : i did go to the store
in that question case, u should answer to go. example : I want to go to the store
tq
np
are u here
what?
Most of it incorrect
U dont have to make table like that to learn english. It will make u more difficult to learn. Try to understand english , not remember the meaning word by word.
which one is incorrect tho
Off topic
But in harry potter
Are mudbloods jews
And draco is a nazi
And voldemort is literally hitler
Yeah I thought of this before too
The analogy makes sense
the way you learn is wrong
english lesson in school is trash
Tbh I don't see nothing wrong with it. They all are correct for me
english is really depends on situation and condition , i'm pretty sure if someone learning in that way type of learning, for some certain condition, they will just speak what they can remember. which is , can be misunderstand. because they were just memorizing, but not really understand what it means, which word can suit, etc.
I must agree 😦 In general, teaching process is trash. But I think it's because it lacks of an individual approach. When one tries to generalize something, they often describe it for a broad spectrum of people - regardless knowledge, their "intelligence", social skills and so on.
yeah, true true, it helps , but , its not help enough to make ur english good in any aspect (speaking, vocabulary, grammar)
Hello what grammar is this
“He watched us fight “
“He watched us fighting “
“ I’m controlling them instead of them controlling me “
second sentence grammarly incorrect
i think
idk, im not sure
first sentence past tense
and third sentence is present continuous i think
because if its supposed to be past perfect continuous , it should be "he had been watching us fight"
but if its supposed to be past continuous , it should be "he was watching us fight"
Fight is what there
"We would meet (or will meet) someday." Either of those would be correct
but hwat is the difference bewteen met or meet
met is past tense, meet is present or future
"would" in that sentence implies that it's something that will happen in the future, so does not work with "met"
i think the second sentence right
haha but idk what type of sentence/grammar its called
for me grammarly correct are just for formal situation. if u want to learn for conversation for daily basis, u dont need to overthinking about are u grammarly correct or not. @hollow bramble
the most important thing is they understand what is the point that u want to say about
so for anyone that just start learning english can focus to another important aspects like vocabulary and pronounciation. rather than just focus on grammar but very trash at 2 other aspects.
this way of learning is to make ur progression of ur english skill faster rather than just focusing on one aspect. it will boost your progress. learning english should be really fun, and dont think too much and afraid of being wrong.
just watch movies and listen to musics (included understand the lyrics) again and again or play a games. and u will be better every single day without u realize
Reading books can help with your grammar and writing as well
And of course, along with vocabulary
I wish Bianca to go.’ Bianca looked stunned. ‘Me? But… I’m so new. I wouldn’t be any good.’ ‘You will do fine,’ Zoë insisted. ‘There is no better way to prove thyself.’
What's Thyself?
Do you think watching movies and tv shows help? I want to watch 1000 movies/tv shows
I'm at 23 out of 1000
🤣
well i've been learning english for 19 years apx.
but back in the day when i was kid i just learned something little by little without i realize till i graduate from junior high school and then i felt pretty good when i just got in into senior high school and from that moment i pushed myself at english pretty much , and in that moment i was being more often to watch many video in youtube that use english, movies, songs, learning lyrics meaning and pronounciation, and practicing my speaking skill by having a conversation with my english club back in the day in my senior high school and i'm the leader of that club, my club speak full english once a week.
its just about the time, dont worry
keep going on guys , y'all can do it !
Yeah
That's pretty interesting
Do you think grammar is important if you want to go abroad?
You are tue leader of the cult
If the purposes of going abroad just for vacation, doesnt matter, but if for education, business, surely it is
That's what I was thinking
Thanks for replying my question

My pleasure
a word or phrase for one thing that used to refer to another thing in order to show or suggest that they are similar.
example : "He was drowning in paperwork" is metaphor in which having to deal with a lot of paperwork is being compared to drowning in an ocean of water
What's the difference between guy and man?
Guy is a guy. Man is a man
Guys and men are basically adult human males. They are differentiated from each other by certain traits which are not written in some book but are personal opinions of people. Boys who grow up to be less responsible and more fun; who take jobs rather than build careers, and have not yet decided to commit seriously to relationships or a career are guys; whereas, boys who grow up to become responsible and settle in life are considered to be men.

Difference Between Guy and Man Guy vs Man A man and a guy both refer to adult human males. The difference lies in their attitude and the way they treat life. The difference between a man and a guy is also a difference of opinion in the eyes of the person who has a specific perception about men. In regular […]

Does present participle refer to ongoing action everytime ?
Verb+ing is either gerund ( noun ) or present participle ?
Please can sb native answer these 2 qıestion ?
Yes that tense means it is going on at this time
Its a present participle
Even if its adjective or adverb its still ongoing action right
The teacher interesting him
Its ongoing right
Or
I grew up watching ut movies
Adverb
The teacher intrests him
You would say the teacher is intresting
To describe someone
Intresting is used to describe something
You could say the student found him intresting
No i dont wanna say that
Or the subject intrested him
U said presemt participle is always ongoing
It is only used too describe things though
It is the descriptive present tense only used to describe things
@hollow bramble Yes, 'interesting' per se refers to an action in progress
But it is not a standalone verb
So it doesn't really mean anything without a helping verb
Are u native english spkr
Np
@hasty estuary look its always ongoing action unless its gerund 🤨 whether its adjective or adverb or when its used for verb tense
whos good at editing poems?
for?
so there is a poem called "she walks in beauty" and I wrote another poem like replying to it so I need someone to look at that
Can someone explain this sentence to me, "this was a little logical slight of hand, but the boy never noticed."
Any native speaker I'd appreciate your help!
if its for school i cant help
This sentence would be referring to a trick that the boy didn't notice, and would've probably been after the trick was explained to the reader
A "Slight of hand" is just clever use of what you have
Thank you!!
No problem! Did that help?
Definitely! Yes!
"Logical slight of hand" was a bit confusing
Awesome!
Yeah, the phrasing is a bit redundant, because a slight of hand is usually by its definition logic based
But it still works
It's what makes literature interesting.
Indeed!
Thank youuuuu
MY PLEASURE
Through, with, via, using; would be the more common ones.
Uh, what context is that in?
other types of communication software
Saying that is completely fine, imho. You can directly also just say "Other softwares..." depending on the context and what you want to say. So if you wanna say "You can use other types of communication software, such as...." You might as well as switch it to "Other communication softwares (you have) at disposal (meaning: that are available to use) are..."
thanks
Otherwise, 'type' can also be; 'kind, model' are what I can think of.
Types of c. s.
Other kinds of c. s.
Other communication software models...
Don't worry, you'll improve over time
yes I am

Hey guys are these words synonyms: Amazing and Marvelous ?

Amazon is the world's largest online marketplace you can find anything from electronics, books, food, toys, jewelry etc you name It's there. Don't waste your time going to stores physically. Amazon gots you covered just go to there website or download there app and you'll be ready to start searching for all the items you might need.
Have you ever wondered why Amazon is the most famous application in the world? There are many benefits from shopping on amazon, it has a lot of advantages than any other online applications, and that's one of the reasons why It's so popular and easy to use. First, shopping from amazon became more popular and effective to use these days due to it being a big time saver, and It made many people’s lives more easier. With the pandemic going on shopping from Amazon became more useful and a lot safer to shop from. Your health is what matters most so do what's right. secondly, It's more comfortable than going out to buy the same items from stores. You just need to open the Amazon app and search what specific things you want. Having the specification on the items on Amazon helps out a lot to know which item you want exactly. You also have many options to choose from and distinguish from to get the right pick. Imagine going to an electronic store to get a piece you need for your computer and then going back home to find out It's the wrong one. It's just a big hassle. It's a really good way to shop but going there physically is healthier because you are moving your body more and walking so there's good things about physically going there too. One more thing that i think is good about physically going there is that you may be able to negotiate with the price as with online shopping It's not possible. In my opinion i think people should shop online more because we have a pandemic going on and It's more safer staying at home and shopping, It's also more easier to find items you want. Shopping online has made our lives easier and better.

@flat rune hey
This is the check list
These are the things that the doctor asked for... Can you tell me if there's anything missing
Hey, guys, I have a question. What is the right way to say :
Add something in the storage facility
or
Add something to the storage facility
? thx
I still don't understand what is it that you need
I need to know if my essay is as the doctor wanted
.
This is it
it doesn't seems like an essay to me tho
yea lol
what is this lol
like uhm...we dont know your doctor...and that is just the main ideas?
Yeah that's what he wants
if that is supposed to be your essay, I would start by correcting the structure and everything, because it looks like a simple text
well it DOES
because if you tell me it is an essay, I will read and correct it like it is an essay
All am asking is does it have these
I mean, that is not an english question
👀
you should ready your own text and check if all the necessary points are covered
We don't correct homework
Your essay is fine. The message came across quite successfully, though, the idea is a bit hard to follow especially in the 'electronic store' part. Are you trying to convince the readers to use Amazon? Why point out then that it would be healthier to go to the the store physically? It defeats your argument
I don't know man I just corrected what seemed not English in there

Yes
Fair enough
That's right

But i was trying to say that going there physically can also help in a way too
Yes, I get that. But you did state in the end 'in my opinion, people should shop online more', so this healthy thing you said seem to be misplaced in the essay
@flat rune can you help in private?

How do you use 'dine'word in daily life?
I'm going to (abbreviated to 'I'm gonna') dine on this food later! Or, do you have anyone to dine with?
I don't commonly hear people using it though

Hello everyone
We'd like to say thank you to eveyone who helped us to raise money for Save the Children over the past year.
We have successfully raised $84,000!!
We have organised various interesting and fun events. First we had a Marathon in September and we raised $16,200. Then a lot of people came to our 1990s karaoke evening in Octover and we raised $68 000.
An don't forget, the next week there is quiz night.
There are some special prizes!
Save the Children will use the money to save children's lives and they will have better future.
Last year STC helped 10M children around world
Don't forget that a small amount of money can make a big difference. For example, only £3 saves lives of 8 children with stomach virus.
Would you like to help us raise more money for Save the Children ? Please look out fo the next event.
Thank you to everyone again for all your help.
Sam
it's correct?
uhhh what

We raised $16,200. and then
$68,000. And don’t forget
Octover should be October.
"the next week there" should be "next week there"
For "please look out fo the next event," , it should be "please look out for"
" saves lives of 8" to " saves the lives"
hello guys, I'm new here........just joined the server
#📚|english-questions rn I'm struggling with a word, I would really appreciate some help, are we allowed to ask questions here? sorry, i'm new to this server
Yes
#📚|english-questions @zenith ether thanks for the response. So with my question I want a one word for: "someone's actions influencing the other person", eg. if i'm helping poor and another person is in my company, they might like that too, so my actions are one_word_______ in the other person. If it makes any sense at all. idk why but rn all I could think of is the word "reciprocating". Please help!!!
Influence is also acceptable here btw
...so my actions are influential to the other person.
yeah that's fine, but where I have to use it, "influence" would be an odd ball
uhmmm
It sounds fine to me, but you can use 'impact' too tho
ok, i'll give u some context for my usage........so if i'm angry and its raining heavily.....then I want an expression such that.....my anger is __reciprocated in the rain. something like that
@zenith ether do u know any other servers or channels where I could ask questions like these cuz I've got plenty, lol. Though for most it's a crap, still I'm hopeful from the awesome community we have.
Skksks I know you're looking for a word but my brain keeps on paraphrasing the sentence since I can't think of any word that can fill in the blank of the sentence without rearranging it and ruining the context, but maybe Sir @still sluice (sorry for the ping, sir huhu) can help????
You can ask them here, a lot of people will be happy to help
How about aggravate, enrage or infuriate? 🤔
that's alright, you've been nothing but awesome and you tried its all that counts.
I don't mind pings at all. It helps me to find where to look :)
Yey, that's awesomeeee! Thank you, sir!
My pleasure
As in your anger embodies the rain? 🤔
woah, I got new words for expression of extreme anger. Though I would request u not to think in terms of anger but something around mirroring the action. Seems like "mirroring" could be one but its quite loose for the usage.
I understand
Reciprocate is the closest word I could think of, but it also depends on how much freedom you have using vocabulary.
A more formal and rarely used word could be requite
not the just the anger but any expression. Be it help, compassion, sadness, and more
Ah
wait really, if reciprocate has the similar meaning then it could for, for now at least.
Good
using requite will deviate the context, I reckon.
Use what you see fits the context best if you know the full context and the limitations
sure sir and yeah this discussion was really helpful guys @still sluice and @zenith ether, plus I'm really glad that I learned some new and cool words. Actually I'm trying to write a novel, never done it before and wanted to give it a try, so sometimes I get stuck with the words. My vocabulary isn't really great hence u guys 🙂
Oh, that's wonderful!
I hope you enjoy your writing, and feel free to ping me if you need any help
That's great! Good luck, Anil!
thanks guys @zenith ether @still sluice , will surely bother u for more stupid questions.
if someone is interested in reading I would love to hear the criticism. though its far from complete as of now. Cuz I get really lazy to actually sit and write, hehehe.

Nah they cant
It's a test, what do you think? 👀
nah i already did it yesterday but you don't get the answers afterwards
just wanna comfirm
B
can you tell me why? both my friends told me it was consequently
Sequentially is just not right
As well as consequently because its use is the same to 'in consequence...'
E.g., It rained yesterday. Consequently, she didn't attend her classes.
It is not acceptable since there is no consequence-related thing mentioned in the sentence
Subsequently = eventually
Eventually however, ...
Do you get what I am saying?
ohhh i though it meant afterwards
mhm thank you
Could also be that ^^

Hi there
When I use "easier"
Is just for comparison?
Or i can say "this champion is the easier to use."
Or i have to say easiest
Easier is comparative, the easiest is superlative.
The reason why you add 'the' is because you refer to one specific thing you're talking about.
"This book is much easier to read than the other one."
vs.
"This was the easiest exam I have ever taken." - this was the easiest exam out of every single one you ever took.
So, imagine I'm talking about question in an exam.
And the last is the easiest or easier 🤨
Because I'm comparing with the others.
But it's not cleat
Hello, what does it mean "payment with plastic" ?
It depends. If you say "This last question was easier", it means you are comparing it to something. But easier compared to what? So you should add the other object you compare it to.
"It was easier compared to question(s) A(B,C)."
But if you want to compare that one question to a group of questions, or to every question in the exam, you say:
"It was the easiest question out of them all."
When you say 'the', it's clear it is the only one.
So. Easiest is the correct one. Thx very much
The swing won't last swinging for a long period time.
Is this actually correct?(If not please correct it for me, tq ❤️ )
The swing won't last long .
tq
last long = long period of time (phrasel verb)
"ohh i think he won't last long anymore, we almost won.."
but we lost, haha.
Throughout the last week I was feeling like my pronunciation was getting worse for no reason at all, suddenly English stopped feeling comfortable in my mouth. But now, I'm feeling confident again, and I think that I would be perfectly understandable for native speakers. This is not the first time it happens, and I believe it won't be the last one. Am I the only one who feels that? Is there any reason for it?
It happens sometime.
I think all of the learners feel like you don't worry.
Hello, someone can explain what does it mean : " I almost wish ... " ? Thank you.
It conveys the literal meaning for me tho, I don't think it's an idiom
Almost = not quite done or nearly finished
Wish = wanting something to happen
You almost (or nearly fully) want for something to happen
what is different between " modest " and " humble" ? someone helps me . thank you
Modest is about having a moderate estimate about one's abilities or achievement. Otherwise being humble is about having a moderate estimate of one's own importance, I mean as a person

Hello! Can you check and correct my letter?
Well, you know, it's so cool to work with computer programs. By the way, i have IT in my school too. There we work on computers, study how they work and even program sites. I really like IT and I'm pretty excited about the next lesson. But i also have and other favourite school subjects, among them: history, physics , literature and chemistry.
Ну, ты знаешь, это так круто работать с компьютерными программами. Кстати, у меня тоже есть IT в моей школе. Там мы работаем на компьютерах, изучаем как они работают и даже программируем сайты. Я действительно люблю IT и не могу дождаться следующего урока. Но также у меня есть и другие любимые школьные предметы, из них: история, физика, литература и химия.

Hello!

past participle of fly
is it a phrasal verb
It means going in an airplane
uhh
now it makes sense
nope its not
I was struggling to understand what the character meant by saying this
Hi can someone kinda paraphrase this im a little bit confused on what its trying to say. " Reparations serve to acknowledge the legal obligation of a state, or individual(s) or group, to repair the consequences of violations — either because it directly committed them or it failed to prevent them."
flown is the past participle of fly
Yeah yeah I got it I was just confused because I thought fly back was a phrasal verb and I couldn't find it on a dictionary
hmmm you want a transcription of this to a more readable form
right?
yes please
oops typo
okay
what i meant to say is it saying that reparations is repairing the violations that was caused?
yep
hmmm
reparation is the act in which you because of your wrongdoings have to give something so the other party is happy
i am reading this article and it says "Reparations Committee" and I got confused what it meant
reparations is to make things right
Lets say they steal from your shop
LMAO yes
Think of it like that

question: is it "lots of variety" or "lots of varieties"?
It could be both
My advise is say it out load and if it sounds natural roll with it
okay so if I wanna say "Big cities not only offers young people lots of opportunity, but lots of variety as well"?
Yes that works
the result are back but to be sure
can you check this out
Sure
A b and c all make sense
B
it's ask for "THE BEST" can't understand what that means
C and b are the best just opposites of each other
Probably c because your saying it’s has good and bad
why tf do I choose A
tf
Yea I'm with B
🤣
wait why is A wrong again?
it should be varieties
isn't it uncountable?
whenever “variety” is used it is used with singular “a”
?
uh?
but there's a "not only" in the first term?
What
"city life not only..."
I thought the following term should be positive?
or maybe not
I could be wrong
a variety of flowers
varieties of flowers
there is no a, so answer A is wrong
sure but...
the correct answer is C
yes
but she could be wrong tho
like tho opposite of opportunity
so is B correct?
?
what tf is this mess
I think c is the strongest answer
i just didnt choose C because idk what that word means
lmao
because im not native
lmao
It just means the bad stuff
oh yeah
wtf
i didnt read the last words
lmao
yeyeyeyeyey
C is the answer lmao
How many words if the day is in the colors if the alphabet. India or British
i just lost my brain cells reading that sentence
jesus

good one, but nope
-5 brain cells
which one is correct look on the map or look at the map? and why
are any situations where i should say look at the map or on the map? or it is fine
i would use "at" if I'm like pointing it out and "on" if i want them to look up for something
to refer to a position or location which we see as a point
on:
to refer to a position on any surface```
In my opinion, if you look at the map, you're looking at it as an external object.
E.G.: "She spent some time *looking at the map* to search for her next destination." (Emphasis put on the *act* of looking, leaving your gaze somewhere for a fixed amount of time).
Whereas if you look on the map, you're specifically accounting for the fact that you want to search for something.
E.G.: "Look it up on the map. Look on the map and check for yourself."
If anyone disagrees, correct me. I'm also curious.
thank you guys
alseen👀
Hey guys i want some help to complete this
Complete what?
Please read the channel's description
The two seem fine to me
ok thanks💖
both are fine, but it would depend on what you are relating with them
And sorry if this is the wrong place ask that question
its alright lol
his characteristic
then that could be "relate to"
Thanks a lot @crimson dagger

Hey guys, i was reading Dracula by Bram Stoker and i found a phrase that i dont understand. Could you guys help me by explaning what is the meaning ?
"on the near side the sea-wall makes an elbow crooked inversely"
i am not sure how i suppose to interpret the elbow part LMAO
sorry if my english is bad X.x
it's essentially saying that the sea-wall on the near side is in an inverted L-shape
summin like this
like a bent elbow but the opposite way
do you already know the answer to this? i find the sentence interesting. like there really isn't a "best" answer
i feel like it wants to test if u can make contrasting ideas using 'but'
But the way the first part was worded it shouldn't be contrasting but similar ideas
not only x but also y
u know those tv shopping thing, they'll say something like
but not only that if you buy now you'll also get more freebies
it used "but" so I'm gonna go with C but will take note that the sentence was a bit awkward
if u dare u can tell the teacher the question sounds off lol

There would've been three of us If your sister had came...
In question would be
How many of us would there have been If your sister had come?
or
How many of us would have there been If your sister had come?
i understand both but I'd go with
How many of us would have been there
tks
ikr, but the teacher gave us the answer of C
@bronze maple Native role
it looks good OKAY
OKAY, sir native.
taste buds are or taste buds is?
are
thank you.
It is not a question here, so why are we using had in the beginning?
Please ping when you respond :))
Because this phrase is in fact a conditional.
Had we know has the same meaning as If we had know
I don't know much about gramatical rules but this happens a lot on books and poetry.
@frank glen is it dialectical or what?
Not sure, but I have seen this only on old books tbh
@frank glen so this sentence is only used with "condition 3* ?
Right?
can I replace it with that is why ?
It wasn't related to that conditional sentence question....
It was a different question!! 🙂
İ see him fall
İ see him falling
Whats fall and falling
Obect complement ???
Or adverb
The difference between "your" & "you're"
"Your" is used referring to a property you own OR Your personal BELONGINGS ex: your pencil
"You're " constraction of "you are" meaning you are pointing out at somebody ex: you're beautiful = YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
Is this correct?
Yes
Thanks
Yes
Falling is the process of falling, I mean, it is present continuous. Fall is simple present.
Nice explanation!
The top one is correct and if you used was it would be “is there anyone that was a tea addict before?”
thank you!
I would chose the one you put already
haha, same here
Is it okay to tell someone who is native English and male, that he looks sweet? (or that is appropriate for girls only?)
Well, I've never seen that term until just now. I'd say friendly/kind or cute instead of sweet.
Thank you! 'Cute' seems to be the right word.
Np!
What's the word of Take something back with force?
Mary Hall (2021) states, “ Governments have the capacity to make broad changes to monetary and fiscal policy, including raising or lowering interest rates, which has a huge impact on business (
im not sure how to cite a bullet point, if anyone can help then much appreciated.
Maybe "recapture?"
Kinda late but we just tackled this in our class earlier, LOL. Hold on, gimme a sec.
Try any of these two
You can either paraphrase so you won't need to put a page number or just put 'Bullet 1' or summin like that, ig
Or use superscript
I tried googling it and it had images of them just putting in the bullet point, but before that they gave a little info with the year of publication
Lemme see 👀
I hate midterms. I got a 75/100 on a draft because I wasn't reading the directions correctly. She said i was supposed to do it both written and oral. So confused because the directions had nothing about doing it orally

yea, only dropped my overall grade by a percent so its a 92 but still a drop

May can also be used in a formal context to convey a wish or desire for something to happen in the future.
