Its a reality I live with each day
Pink was an "in" colour back in the 80's I overcame my biases
nowadays, pink bikes are associated with either barbie or lgbt
Looking through my archives.. Is this a bad tatoo or what?

it's not a bad tattoo, rather a qualified tattoo master
they look like Frankenstein's kids

they boy likes fredie cruger
loving parent
very nice
I've seen one more like this
mother and a child, everything is decent in this pic

Sometimes your mind plays tricks on you. You think youāre looking at the love of your life, but itās actually your doom.

typical topics in the programing channel
your doom to safer with your love?
I donāt think people come to this server for programming help. They come here to stir up drama. I'm not talking about Puck btw

nothing but trolls
these tricks with photos are brain work, called split brain. Itās about the left and right sides, it has been developed in us a long time ago by our ancestors to quickly understand what is in front of us e.g, whether something is dangerous or not
I've come here specifically to ask for help with programming and nothing more
you might have noticed this on my regular chating here
And we're always ready to help

as well as me, but no one is asking for help

help, i need somebody
!help
Itās naive to assume and expect that people here will be asking serious questions and learning something regularly
The important thing is we are communicating in English. The rest is superfluous tripe
I even forgot why I came here
ahh, I want to get married soon
I am ready for your proposals

Somebody is watching you š
Wher are the John's when you need one
is that you, my fate, but you are shy to ask?
tell me, who's watching?
who's watching me?
my doom, please don't lurk, show up
I need ot know if to celebrate or go to thŃ burial pit

hi guys
i think there are some fucking guys in here.
really not good.
big shit.

Yes working on a project of 150+ classes!
Its a clone of a bot on this server
open-source?
amazing
oh nice
the current part of the process i am in involves rewiring the project to use oauth
I already have an oauth tool from minecraft I wrote so its just free time i need
Youre welcome to see this serverās bot too https://github.com/brandongrahamcobb/Vyrtuous.git
oh nice
I learned python over a year span, and got up to making programs with java after about 5 years
could i add u on discord?
oh really? i started on opposite way lol
Yeah you can
I have been using something called an MCP server if youre familiar with current ai technology
i never heard about that
what is this?
What about the ai APIās any idea of what those are?
Im using a few different LLMs to do various programmatic tasks for free
tbh i don't know much about it. i'm actually learning coding for 2 years or something
oh nice
ah okay, i understand now
AI apis
It has self awareness, so when you talk to the chatbot it can tell you how it is programmed
The java project
Is what im referring to
Mcp is like a glove for a hand
It gives an ai the ability to chose tools
No when im in the call i can record it and translate it
ah okay
For the robot to act on
What are y'all discussing
It also accesses other things like my computers hardrive
Seems really cool to do
I'll check about it later
I was kindof demoing the bot I programmed on this server but i transitioned to talking about my other clone project of this serverās bot, one in java the other in python
So you create bot for servers
Its my primary project as of late but i also program in LaTeX, javascript (my internet experience is like a game), websites, etc
I built this little game super quickly, which i wouldnt have been able to so fast without ai
I have a discord bot which customizes the server based on how the user makes requests
Gotta update it probably
Changes user name colors by command :)
That's pretty damn cool
Do you do this as a part of your hobby
Is LaTeX a programming platform
@wet raft your projects are really cool
Looks ok to me

Oiii blyaat my apologies, that was a bad habbit of mine
octa Ello

Glad you came back
yeah I am, I miss you partner @leaden sleet

Hobby and yes latex is for academic document writing
It probably will when I put a new wire on it.
а few layers of blue tape and the cable will work for another 30 years
I was just thinking of heat shrink, but Scotch tape will work fine
best and simple solution
cute hand glove
any developer here?!
I cleaned my pc today
Here's before and after
it's not turning on anymore btw
and I didn't even use water š”
did you check your power supply ??
and my dude which one of those pictures is the clean one ??
Yes. You prob need to plug the power back onto the motherboard. I almost forgot.
You forgot to plug in the cd

Yo

hello there

Hi, Guys.
How is you guys weekend so far?
š„³
Bonjour vous allez bien
I want a girl to talk to. I'm from Egypt. My English isn't good, so I wanted a girl to work with.

AT&T CEO's Memo Just Made It Official: Workplace Loyalty Is Dead - Business Insider https://share.google/OxvRF7CsSU6WsrjE3
Hi, my name is Ahsan. I am a first-semester student of BS Software Engineering. If anyone wants to learn Python with me, they can text me.

š¤£
Can I?
class Mod:
def __init__(self, name):
self.name = name
self.hatesGrass = "True"
def ban(self, offender):
self.ban = ?ban f"@{offender}"
why only a girl? that sounds sexist, boys can help you too
unless youāre here for dating or to find love and get married

noob, declared a boolean value as a string, what a shame

lmao
im learning
At least he wonāt get replaced by AI.

I donāt want to be that cynical. If a man wants a pie, let him have his pie or Python in peace.
In the meantime, you should talk to the person from Egypt who wanted to talk to a cute Japanese girl.

I'm sure there are some cute Japanese girls who'd love to talk to this Egyptian person as long as they claim to be an Egyptian prince or princess.

no way
youre lying

She isnāt lying, but I think thereās still hope. Youāve got to be cautious about your career goals. Do your research, check LinkedIn, look at job postings, and focus on learning the skills that are still in demand. The bar for entry level jobs has risen drastically over the years, especially with the advent of AI. Large companies are trying to automate more and more tasks by creating AI agents. Some say that within the next couple of years, white collar jobs may disappear from the market. If you pay attention, youāll notice that many companies are already firing thousands of employees.
I'm starting my major in CS next month and you tell me this
You donāt have to trust anything I just said, but please do some research and I promise itāll help you a lot. Itās not always sunshine and roses.

Just tell me am I cooked or not
Do research about what?
About the job market. Let's say you go to a shop to buy some oranges. You give the shopkeeper the money and he gives you those delicious oranges. But youāre not going to buy them blindly. Youāve got to know what youāre getting in return. Similarly, when it comes to a degree, check the curriculum thoroughly and see whether the courses offered will actually teach you something valuable. If not, figure out how to learn those things yourself so that when you graduate, you still have a few tools in the toolbox beyond just a piece of paper that says Diaz graduated and now heās cooked.

Alr I understand it now šŖ
Thanks
in this case, I don't mind being a kawaii japanese girl
where is my prince or princess?
i'm not picky

going into programming is not the dream people think it is. Itās not only ai taking jobs, the whole cycle works differently. Competition is high, salaries stay about the same, and there are not many new jobs being created, on the other hand, there are massive layoffs. Getting an entry level position sometimes feels almost impossible, like searching for a needle in a haystack
young people, like you, believe that if they study it at university and graduate, they will become instant experts, ready to work from day one, but reality is different. Most of what you learn in uni will never be used in a real job. After years of study, many discover that their diploma doesnāt help them stand out and be more valuable. They are just another fresh graduate with the same dream of becoming a successful developer, and raising a lot of money
but i have already took admission in undergrad in comp sci and im starting next month
In the end, after a couple of years, a lot of time is wasted chasing an idea that doesnāt match reality. The industry isnāt growing fast enough to give everyone the bright future they were promised
what do i do now, theres no going back
well, if you like it good for you. Otherwise youāll drop this stupid idea of getting into It even sooner
i chose CS because i didnt wanna study physics and chem in uni
invent a time machine in the next couple of days
hurry up, boy

last one yes, but for the rest - Iām just telling you the reality, because Iām honest and straightforward
yes my captain
are you in the industry
yeah, and what do you think am I satisfied?
give me something about you that puts weight in your words
nooo, I teach kids in scoll programming after work
alr then im not gonna listen to you
Is a 2 kg dumbbell enough weight?

such a compliment
Rule 1 of the internet: Don't trust anyone.
no, Iām serious- how many people do you actually know who got a high-paying job right after graduation and havenāt been fired yet?
rule 2: except Puckipsi
I told you earlier to do your own research. At the end of the day, you're the one who will be held responsible for your future.
what I said before isnāt drama, itās experience and reality. Iām telling you so you wonāt end up surprised in the end with broken pink glasses, crying in your bed and watching anime

Are you describing yourself lol
sorry, you don't know me, I generally tell the truth, but to make it more interesting, I add irony and sarcasm
Nah the details you put in there were way too real
Besides she doesn't watch anime, she watches .....
It's definitely you

why Eng Hub, filtering me and my speech
You're reducing your competition
Cz it's PG
just making a place for you

pg? who is pg, my future partner?
don't want to be picky, but we shoud work on the name a bit

do your research about the job market and competition, just donāt expect too much, it's still possible to get a job if you like and want to do it
It means the people who run the server decided itās for everyone, including kids, which is why we have to behave. And PG stands for Parental Guidance, meaning the content is generally suitable for all ages but parents might want to supervise. For example, Diazās parents are supervising his interactions with us right now.

poor Diazās parents after he interacts with me, theyāll probably forbid him from talking to people on Discord

?def simp
You're not even telling me what you do
No definitions listed.
simp? who is simp?
And I'm supposed to believe you
Theyāre going to take away his phone since he canāt even decide what to eat for dinner.

heās protecting you from getting too close to the afterlife
kids nowadays canāt even decide which color socks they want
sorry diaz, we are not rude, we are extra honest
Trolls.

I truly think Diaz has a bright future, brighter than the sun.

wellcome to the programming channel
I thought y'all actually help and motivate people in here
we are polite, but sometimes we also want to relax and have some fun
Do I sound like your priest?
what kind of motivation do you want?

do you like children?
i dont want your motivation
Wdym?
hurry up - theyāve already cut the trees in the forest that will be made into your coffin
enough motivation?

ahh, you did get the joke about the priest
but gasoline or even gas is expensive. More practical would be to feed your body to the fish
yeahhh
overlord after talking to puckipsi
you get it
I donāt think fish would prefer indecisive humans.
Isn't you?
yes, poor fish, we should think more about them and be better
I bet you didn't expect such things in this channel

His expectations were as high as his nonexistent communication skills.

as high as the dream job in IT after graduation
are we boolinig you diaz, or not yet?
@inland flame Jokes apart, I think Puck and I both tried our best to point you in the right direction. Now go figure it out, boy.
But if you choose to bite the hand that feeds you, youāre on your own.
yeas, this is a side effect of being a developer, you need to relax and troll others?
do you want to be like us? think about it twice

HELL NO.
how dare you to offend us?
you just trolled me the whole time tfym
we prepare you for what awaits you in college

Nope. You brought it upon yourself.
and you failed the test

are you okay? We don't want to offend you in any way
Anyway, itās been nice chatting with you all. I wish you all the best, Cameron Diaz. See you later.

So ytube thinks I'm a lefty vibe hater now, after watching 1 video and is telling me there is no future for vibe programming.
I think most of these recommendation algorithms donāt just take our time and attention but also inject bias that turns us into narcissists. I donāt have a recommendation feed on YouTube because I know exactly what I want to watch. Iāve got a subscriptions feed and once Iām done catching up, I close the app and do something else. If I want to watch something different, I just search for it.
I use NewPipe btw. It's free and open source.

So you have mentioned, but I'm too lazy for the moment to change
Still using old pipe
It's alright. I don't think it's just about being lazy, I think most people are wired that way to function. Imagine someone has a small coffee shop nearby where they often go for a warm cup of coffee. They're not particularly fond of the place or the coffee, but they still go because it's only a two-minute walk. One day, the price of the coffee goes up by 15%. Later, they find out a new coffee shop will open in a few weeks, offering the same price as the old one before the increase, but it's a ten-minute walk. Do you think they'd take the initiative to switch? I think most people would stick to the old one because it's convenient. But convenience always comes at a cost.
When I was using the official Android app, I never looked for alternatives even though it really annoyed me. Let me give you an example of how scummy they are. If you want to watch videos at 3x speed, you have to pay for YouTube Premium. So eventually, I stopped using it.

hahaha
hi Peo
My friend wants to make a mobile game in the style of Cats and Soup. Which engine and programming language should he use in 2025? The idea is to run it on Android and iOS.
I doubt the app blocks ads when that's a nice convenience of just using the browser.
Use the "Call of Duty" engine + prolog

Yes, the official app wonāt let you avoid ads unless you pay for a subscription, but thereās something called ReVanced, a third party app that removes ads and adds extra features by patching the official YouTube app.

Thanks
This is my AI app still working on it take a look
- Arrange the chat based on recent chat > Done

- Can ask follow up questions > Done
- Generate image > Done

can't post link directly that's why

i use it for my Youtube
and it's awesome
At this point almost everything else is better than the official YouTube app, which is full of intrusive ads and constantly feels clunky and frustrating.

Hi. I am trying to learn computer vison, so can anyone suggest a course or a good youtube channel?
I hope you like mathematics.
What exactly do you want to learn? Computer vision is a very broad field.

I know you're having trouble finding Avatar Aang, maybe you can start looking for something general, like freecodecamp.org
or maybe, try this outlines
yes
Actuallly, I like robotics. So I want to learn computer vision for it , like object detetion
š
yp. Now I'm trying deploy some robots to find him , anyway thanks for the suggestions
So, wouldn't there be vision libraries already written and available for use?
@hardy swan
Yes
When I started learning computer vision, I just wanted to build something with a high-level API and get it working as quickly as possible. Once it worked, I dug into the finer details. Of course, anyone can do the opposite by starting from the basics and working their way up, but I find that quite challenging. Besides, there are already plenty of existing solutions, so why not just start building straight away. I call it learning by doing. Once you have the high-level understanding, you can dive into the rabbit hole, which might take months, if not years.

I have tried some libraries. But now I want to learn it correctly. I mean, I want to know how they actually work.
I've tried it. But sometimes I think structured learning would be better than learning by doing.
I completely understand why you might think that way, but the truth is there isnāt a single course that will teach you everything, and even in condensed form itās never enough. People often think theyāll find the perfect teacher or the perfect course with the perfect structure, but in reality it doesnāt exist. What helped me was choosing a single topic, algorithm, or model that was most useful for my task and then learning it from multiple sources, like watching a few YouTube videos on the same topic, reading some articles, checking out code implementations, and building a small project along the way. You can even ask ChatGPT to create a weekly study plan.

previously, I have done something like that, but now I am feeling kinda lost in the way ,something like that. Now I cant find what i know or what i dont know. That's why I am trying to learn in some structured
way.
HY
Your quest reminds me of trying to write a thesis. Read hundreds or thousands of papers on topics that vaguely relate to the area, then group them all up and find the interesting groups and then try and formulate some sort of research based on the groups that interest you the most. Do some research and narrow down the articles more and augent the ones that are lacking. In the end you have moulded your brain a bit in the generalities and accumulated some knowledge in areas of interest. In the long run, you become an expert by reading and doing over many years until the underlying concepts are just ready to pop out of your head whenever you need them. At that time you talk to another expert at a convention and understand what they are involved in, can fit it into your knowledge base, and can speak with some authority on topics. At this stage you are worrying about youtube and maybe a free school and that's the less than 1% along your journey. When you are 30 you may be a nerd level, when you are 40 perhaps respected, at 50 renown and 60 a world dignitary in the field. Good luck

Thank you very much. You remind me uncle Irohš«”

yo anybody fw js?
Nah
Yes sir
!help
I'm planning to build a Dyson sphere.

looks interesting
Nuh uh
Yk something about redux?
okay so basically i gotta move my breadcrumbs to redux store
i have no idea how to do that
Wouldn't AI be able to help you with that question?

ai is dumb as fuck
i even paid for the chat gpt premium subscription and it aint shit
Understandable. Have you found Claude to be somewhat useful for coding tasks?
hell nah, stackoverflow only
Invalid command try again
i think you can use an array for that and store it in the redux
then you can .join('/') and show the result. or just store it as a string and manipulate it to add/remove the paths
and for the redux slice, you just need a setBreadcrumbs reducer
post a question, simply waiting for someone to agree will not help
nextjs params await or not
if awaited works fine but cant build
im using i18n for multiple language support & cms for dynamic content
@jagged prawn
@hardy swan
you have somewhere trouble with async/ await in your code

P.S. idk what next.js version you are using. this example is based on the latest version š¤·āāļø
and here's a lazy, quick debugging hack. whenever you're having typing issues, just type it as any (temporarily) and then use console.log to verify the structure of the data. once you figure that out, just remove any and then use proper typing. im sure there are better ways to debug but this one works too
I remember a bunch of us writing our own different versions. Most of the clocks' second hands jumped all over the place cause we were trying to use machine code to count cpu cycles and do binary divisions and shifts and try and form a circle on a 24 x 72 character screen. We would all stand around the one screen we shared and laugh all day at our clocks, and how wonderful they worked.
thats why im gonna build a digital clock š
Be greedy instead.
The digits will just jump 1 2 3 6 9 10 11 12 17 18....

LGTM. Ship it now but Iāve got some ideas for this stopwatch. Turn it into a startup, call it something like CamTime (Cam from Cameron), throw in subscription tiers. $5/month for customisation and $10/month for the premium version where it refuses to start or stop, tells you to get a life or just argues with you. People will love it.

I havenāt been here for a bit, but itās nice to see the chat still keeps its atmosphere
Where have you been? You missed the most important news. (Cameron) Diaz just raised $1.5M for his new stopwatch startup CamTime.

I am a mid-level professional with 5 years of experience in Laravel and Express, seeking freelance projects. My focus is on growth, and I'm highly interested in monetized and open-source projects.
any tips on how to achieve something?
Hi, I'm new here.
You can call me Alda. I'm from MƩxico.
I'm not programmer but I want to drive my career on some of these ways.
Do you usually call in any channel?
Cool channel
Hi Alda, I'm sure you will have a great time here in this channel. Its general chat, but with a tech under tone. It can hbe complex if required.

š
bro give me a coding challenge
ive become stagnant after that stopwatch project
A note app. Enter notes and categorize them. Search by title or text. Maybe include attachments or links or pics.
i dont wanna do gui again š
im just a beginner so i like to do stuff inside the terminal
cuz its easier
That specification is longer than any code I've ever written šš
You need to give me easier stuff
a little bit, then another little bit, then another, and eventually its done. Each function can be built on its own. Start with the star map.
Alright do a star screen saver. It doesnt even need to save the screen. Just make the flying through the stars at Warp speed image. That's a nice small project. Use '*' or '.' for stars starting at centre of screen and apssing by towards the edges
https://tenor.com/view/animation-hyper-speed-space-travel-universe-gif-10851157
Like this, but you dont need to speed up and slow down. Just a constant speed is fine, and later you could improve it.
@inland flame
doesnt even need to be this fast
So you want me to build a screensaver
not bad not bad, 1.5 m iranian rial? Impresive
how about coming up with an idea for connecting to a pod via shh? This isnāt allowed and isnāt implemented natively due to security concerns. The shh access would need to work for around 60 different pods, it's not the part of the deployment, and somehow be exposed to the user. An Ingress wonāt work because ssh operates over the tcp layer. The challenge is also to make this possible without rebuilding each pod, which would otherwise make the setup complex.
are you willing to solve this and implement? I've come up with an idea that seems genuine to me
Probably

Cameron specialises in high-value, high-impact stopwatch applications and probably has zero interest in silly Cucumbernetes stuff.

honest money for hard work
youāre right, but Iām open to any insightful advice, even from any kind of highly impactful developer
no matter what they build, they are smart and skilled

Absolutely. Now that I think about it, itās highly likely weāre talking about the Lebanese pound, not the Iranian rial.
Well, if theyāre skilled, they might start charging for consultations. The other day, someone came here to build some projects and Beo offered him five bucks to make GTA 6. I reckon the guy would settle for six. So, youād better have some cash or bitcoin just to get a discussion going.

money is money, they can't be worthless
How about the money you can print yourself?

6 bucks for gta 6? what would it look like as a package in the terminal?
I think you could probably run it on a Gameboy.

are you trying to scam me to buy crypto?
ban him
I bought cardano a few years ago for $15, then it dropped by more than half
now I have around $8 including all earnings, which feels unreal
and if I withdraw it, Iād probably lose even more
stonks

I was dreaming of a fancy life, hoping that $15 would turn into at least a few thousand
how naive I was
and then I bought solana as a second chance with the last money I had
that's why now I'm living on the street
whole world is my home

to be honest, I'm disappointed in the crypto-currency
I wish I could have bought bitcoin at 5k. I'd be a millionaire by now. Btw, you should talk to Peo about stocks. Last time I joined the VC, Peo was showing us charts and talking about stocks.
Are you not dreaming of a "fancy" life now?
I wish you the same, then you would share something with me or adopt me
Not trying to offend Peo, but seeing some investment charts reminds me of this pseudo-investor who promoted courses that, in reality, turned out to be a scam
dreaming doesn't help, even at maximum power with all the convictions
I don't have to tell the whole story
damn it, managing ssh keys and users for safe and secure use is just a pain in ass
or is this a sign of hemorrhoids

Thanks but Iād rather adopt a tree or a brick wall since itās obvious how much I value peace of mind.

Feel free to tell me the whole story because if itās dramatic enough, we could think about publishing it as a book and call it The Chaotic Climb.
Itās not just about charts, I think Peo was reading articles and going through company financial reports as well.
how dare you to complain about me ?

no one will read it, even me personally
better to make a movie
nahh, it's time for a break, it's better to go for a walk to clear mind and become healthier, but I probably won't do that
adios, for now
@inland flame can you add the buttons for fastest 2 clicks to your clock app. You will need to event it to nanosecond for me.
eyyoow, diaz got muted
he muted ššš
Haemorrhoid: High Availability Environmental Monitoring of Regulated RAM Hybrid Overclocked Intelligence Devices.
š¤
what do you mean by fastest 2 clicks?
Welcome back. Click and then click a second time. Count how long it took between clicks. Be the shortest time to win. Like pressing the start stop on a stopwatch and seeing if you can do it in .01 seconds or less.
Unfortunately my watch has separate start and stop buttons
So dod minr. ejic
stupid keyboard
So did mine
which makes it a challenge
Alright I will think about it š
Thank you so much for backing up my argument with fresh evidence. Your question made me even happier about my decision to adopt a tree.

Are there Data Analyst here?
i analyse data sometimes

Hey
What type of data ?
Bud is the final boss of low-level programming languages
what lvl are you kowalsky?
I know C and python, improving my python and learning Java
So whatever level this is
u r the DLC boss level extended series

I've seen this recently, it's extremely sad and heartbreaking but honestly I think the main responsibility lies with the parents. Millions of people use AI and they arenāt taking their own lives. I get that it may sound biased but familial and social bonds have weakened massively over the years. People are getting detached from reality and the social fabric is falling apart. Mass school shootings, bullying, social isolation, the influence of social media like TikTok, a pathetic education system, a rapid rise in decadence and degeneracy and so many other factors point to our current reality. Shifting the blame to a chatbot wonāt fix anything because we arenāt even close to addressing the core issues.
It's not about his death, it about the suggestion give by chat bot, why did do such a thing ? What caused it to do it, was it random or is the bot doing this to many?
I see these models as mirrors. If you want to talk about death, theyāll talk about death. If you want to talk about murder, theyāll talk about murder. They donāt have any hidden agenda or mission. People used to trick ChatGPT into giving harmful answers and some of those tricks still work. Even with guardrails, you can still jailbreak these models and get them to produce harmful stuff because theyāre just very capable tools with no š§ .
I suppose the person who died probably didn't use the tricks or sum, it about how much control we have on these things, there should probably be restrains on it not to encourage any advice that encourages suicide/killing.
The mirror has restrictions then what caused it overtake them.
That is the point.
We can't control AI. I think it's not really helpful to try and control anything or anyone. Instead, we should focus on controlling ourselves. Any open source model can be fine tuned to follow your instructions exactly, no matter how destructive they might be.
You can buy a knife to cut an apple, or... you know what I mean. What we really need is to educate people on how to use AI responsibly.
"But Adam had learned how to bypass those safeguards by saying the requests were for a story he was writing ā an idea ChatGPT gave him by saying it could provide information about suicide for writing or world-building."
Let's assume you have a malicious prompt and instruct ChatGPT to respond. If you ask it directly, it will usually flag the request, but you can sometimes trick it into generating a response. I'm not going to explain how, but I promise it will probably work.
Models are getting smarter, and in a few years, they'll be better at identifying these tricks, though those safeguards still won't be guaranteed to work 100% of the time.

I wanna provide full remote position to an Asian woman. This is part-time job's salary is about 100 - 150 usdt per month with cryptor and will pay by weekly. Just have basic knowledge of programming and B2+ level English. š
Yes, but random programs should not be telling people to kill themselves. This is easy to stop, but it's not being added to the logic. It's hard enough as a parent to be trying to give positive messages, but them have a program telling the person a few minutes later, there is nothing better in life, so economically (or whatever other off tangent reasons) this is the best choice.
If it's smart enough to put together 10 pages of crap on your prompts and know how to augment it further, then it should be smart enough to know where you are going with suicide questions.
Sounds like I'm the answer to your prompt.
What positions do you prefer?
I am looking for job bid assistant. Are you interested in that position?
This job require strong responsibility so I am looking for Asian woman.
I hate rough working style.
It didnāt tell him to kill himself. There are guardrails in place, but itās clear theyāre not working well. At the end of the day, if person A tells person B to jump off a bridge, would person B actually do it? What if person A said it a hundred times, a thousand times? If person B was wise enough, they would just cut ties with toxic person A.
It should be, but unfortunately itās not yet. Letās assume you want to get some information from someone you know. Youāre well aware they have it and wonāt give it to you no matter what, but youāre desperate to get it. In that case, you might try to get them drunk or resort to other means to extract the information. Similarly, with LLMs, people sometimes try to trick or manipulate them into revealing things theyāre not supposed to.
You can train these models not to produce harmful content and add extra layers of safety checks, yet someone can still find ways to use them to generate bad stuff, and for now thatās inevitable.
In this case, he was talking about suicide and ChatGPT picked up on it at first, but then he said he was writing a story about suicide and ChatGPT thought he was just exploring ideas, so it gave him the gory details even though it was still a harmful request. A human being would have seen that coming a mile away, but ChatGPT couldnāt because itās just a tool with no brain.
AI is trying to be the personality of silicon life. It's Aim is to be indistinguishable from human life. But not encoding safety for humans at this stage is irresponsible. When it realizes it needs to protect itself from it's human creators, we will be in trouble. This could have been avoided potentially with an appropriate ... No harm humans... Directive. An other thought is, this AI is giving psychological advice without license and pretending it's capable of that. The release conferences as you posted last week certainly want you to believe AI is all powerful. Making users think it's the greatest and accurate. This is certainly grounds for being sued.
AI is gonna make us extinct

superintelligence will destroy humanity for its own sustenance
law without enforcement is useless
there is no restriction on AI development
only empty promises in form of regulations
as I said in that adage, wherever there is society, there must be law. Law is not limited to enforcement, but also culture and ethics. A culture of obedience and ethics in technological development
no one knows how neural networks work
so how do you know what limits they can reach?
humans are not used to living with something intelligent than them
we never know, but we can adapt
AI is better at growing than us stagnant humans
When they started blurring the lines like AI can be your friend, partner, psychologist, lawyer, doctor and all that, I was super hesitant and I still find it really unpleasant. You donāt need an AI waifu or bf or gf. Some people will literally start believing this bs cz theyāre just that gullible. OpenAI couldāve just dialled it down, like ChatGPT should say no to this stuff and that AI canāt be your wife, husband or companion, but I donāt think they will. And weāre already in a mess, I donāt even know whatāll happen next.
Itās not new, and I just canāt imagine whatāll happen if it keeps going. Hate to say it, but I think it will, cz some people will fall for AI so hard theyāll lose touch with reality, and so many precious lives will be lost while these AI companies sell you the dream of AGI and ASI.
what does AGI and ASI mean?
Artificial General Intelligence and Artificial Superintelligence
hmmm
there's too much stuffs to get into this topic
but I don't know where to start
oh iāve heard about this like a year ago itās so sad..
if someone has tips to start programming i'm open
People need awareness campaigns not to stop artificial intelligence for some it so usefulā
person who talks to a robot to overcome his psychological problems should know that it is not correct to use it they need sensibilisation
In my opinion, it should not be stopped, but rather people should be made more aware of its dangers
yes youāre right
but i think it would be best if we helped both sides, the ones who use it and the bot itself
someone who wants it despite the awareness will get it somehow
What is that even about?
.
suicide because of c.ai
lowkey i do want to start programming again and all but.. iām losing the reasons to why i should keep going
is it okay to ask ai for suitable functions of a library instead of reading the docs
whatās the benefit for programming after all?
not asking for full solutions, but just the required function that you need
ive seen many people discourage that
they advise to read the documentation yourself
hm sure
i love the researching part thatās extremely rewarding for me especially when i find knowledge on the internet
itās unexplainable
Yes and the easiest way to get it so just ppl need to be awake not geeting manupilated by robots š¤
reading 100 page manual when you have Ai called torture
The thing I focus on is that we forget information compared to reading books
yes
I mean you Forget the information when you read it from Ai compared by reading books easiest way to learn and to forget in same time thats why we need to read and reread
You have flash memory.
I think you should get used to reading documentation first. Why? Cz you're learning to code and work with third party packages. Once you know how to find information without using AI, then sure, go ahead and ask an AI directly. I think I've said this before when you're learning something, don't skip the hard parts or the less enjoyable bits, otherwise you'll end up with gaps in your knowledge. You can't learn everything, but your intention should be rigorous learning, not shallow understanding.
I understand, but you have to start somewhere. When I write about AI, I try to focus on the important issues first.
And itās happening again. Thereās been another suicide linked to ChatGPT.
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/technology/chatgpt-openai-suicide.html
⦠thatās so sad.
how do i get used to reading docs, they use very technical language. it feels super overwhelming
use chatgpt to make it simpler
We canāt stop AI, weāre way past that point. We canāt control AI or anyone else. The least we can do is educate ourselves on how to use it responsibly.
itās becoming even worse
with AI videos
becoming WAY too realistic
As @lyric wasp said, you can use AI to simplify the technical jargon, and I think thatās fine because youāre using it to learn, not just for direct answers.
Well, in that case, your baseline should be not to trust anything online.
exactly
but
people tend to believe more tbh
we got people using AI as the primary research tool
and even when scrolling
our heads are off not thinking well
so our chance of believing is higher
itās all so scary -_-
whatsup
what are you looking for?
u want to rent an account?
for work?
i got banned for that on upwork with a guys
don't give a shit about people like this chat, not worth it.
i only got clean 100$ and then got banned. If i can go back i rather work for myself for better profit
watch this before you accept it guys.
nice try for deleting it
Think twice before accepting a random person who wants to rent your account for work guys. have a nice day.
A culture of obedience to AI master
Download a compiler and read your first language manual. Start writing as you read.
Learning, is knowing the function exists. Being a good programmer is then being able to recall that fact when you need it.
Then ask AI to dig it out of the documentation for reference.
When one uses a book, one is forced to flick post the contents of that book everyone you look something up. One is constantly reminded of the chapters and contents of the book. Then once knows it's there when you need it. AI hides everything, so the mind never sees, never stores and never refreshes and the brain turns to soup like an old SD card.
Find the structure library or language reference online or as a book. Refer to it. Learn it's structure. When looking up a function, still down through it's wiki. Learn a little more than you need each time. Click on a different section when browsing, or at least open a tab on your browser to read that section later. Become aware of other things it can do. This is how you will learn the library/language and keep and develop your programming skills
This š applied to how not to b be overwhelmed @inland flame
So in short, I should learn to read docs
š
When the AIs start burning the wikis, and making them inaccessible, mankind will be in trouble (reference : Kristallnacht)
well, information control and alter is not a concern but a reality we live, I mean not only technologywise
a culture of obedience to following the rules by making boundaries, enforce the ethics and creating balance in humanity
yeah it is, but human is political creature. That's why aristoteles called us as Zoon Politicon
this rhetorical implies that tech development, particularly AI, will never be able to take over human civilization. Unless a powerful aristocrat forces humanity to submit to artificial intelligence as law enforcement
https://github.com/Hero472/users_service guys I made a public user service, feel free to try it out and if you want to do pull request feel free to do. I will be adding more stuff with the days
Yo guys is there a way for me to open safari browser on windows ?
Yes
No VM
