As a potential employer and PM , I would be looking for a solution that has been well developed for my money and whilst I would say Angular appears to give that, React also has features that are of equal benefit. In the end, I would be employing someone who was familiar with both, A person that can understand the differences, will know how to communicate with a development team of mixed skills, and provide input into the development environment of the shortfalls of one over the other when they impact a project.

or cstdio if you want a c++ version of stdio.h and don't want other functions like std::cout and std::cin from c++ stl, just c i/o functions

vernal parcel
#

u are allright.

and printf is also working but with only %d

string EnumToString(enAttendOrNot AttendOrNot)
{
    string AttendOrNot_str[] = { "NotAttend" , "Attend" };

    return AttendOrNot_str[AttendOrNot];
}
viscid raft
# south rune Bro the function works well

The wrong thing u do is giving std::string as an argument to the printf function. %s takes char* not std::string, so u have to write EnumToString(arguments).c_str()

south rune
#

it works
so why should i use .c_str()

#

The function is supposed to return a strange so why doesn't it work

viscid raft
#

And your function returns std::string

south rune
viscid raft
#

Which is a pointer to the first character

south rune
#

yea yea

viscid raft
#

But in C++ the std::string isn’t just that but a class that contains methods, size and also the pointer to the first character

#

And the c_str method returns the pointer to the first character as an unchangeable area

#

a constant pointer

south rune
#

thx bro now i got it

violet solar

thank you bro, i will try

south rune
mighty robin
#

and if you want to work in IT, you can do that

#

any programming language is good if you understand it well, because you can transfer your skills from it to other ones

#

and even the knowledge of programming itself, in any language, is useful for other IT jobs, testers who know how software is made are more valuable than testers who dont

#

or security staff, who knows how to code, is more useful, because they understand exploits, errors, vulnerabilities, etc, way better

#

even system admins, who can code, are better, because they can understand the system apps way better, or just any tech position is way better for someone who knows how stuff works

#

Depends on the country ofc, but if you are 14 years old, and wanna start, then do that and dont even care about any fake news or people who demotivate you

#

if your tech gets obsolete somehow, then so it happens, your skills are not gonna be wasted, because tech skills are often transferring from one position to another

idk i just come from a point of view where every feature microsoft has can be potentially a spyware tool

pure copper
#

At least they admit it. But secretly what they don't tell you, is that when you have your camera on and mic on, they are not watching or listening.

mighty robin
#

when you use all social media and major companies products, you think everything is great

#

but when you look under the hood of every of that, you realize they are lying and many of their products are poor quality

pure copper
#

The play store and itunestore are just kids with plenty of hack thrown in. Unless you write your own phone apps, you are just laying down belly up to get kicked in the gut by every person that lists their app.

#

Well 🛏️cat_Sip ciao for now

wise forge
#

Well that was interesting

#

I mean seriously, we'll know that our electric devices can hear and see us, at this point is not a conspiracy theory anymore, but where is all this data I mean it must have a lot of data I believe they don't store this data, not permanently at least

mighty robin
#

they can afford the most spacious disks in the world

#

and third-party add companies are very happy to purchase some user data for advertising purposes, and so on, thats how facebook makes their money, or google

wise forge
wise forge
#

But is different use personal information like location preferences etc, but when you talk about an Apple for example recording each second in each of its devices it is a lot of data and very expensive to maintain especially since such amount of data require a very large istruture in real life to store all this doesn't seem lucrative but idk

mighty robin
#

hard to say, of course

#

but am sure they can find a way of managing this, if not permanently, then at least for some time

#

or at least data of some people

mighty robin
#

people call me old-fashioned, because i do not use products like instagram, facebook, tiktok, snapchat, or any of those except for discord, am eighteen years old, and honestly it is terrifying how normalized selling personal info has become

wise forge
#

But idk maybe Zuckerberg knows how to compress it all in one way that make it affordable

wise forge
#

I can't do the same though

mighty robin
#

i have a facebook acount, no profile photo, no location, no real date of birth, no nothing, just to be able to communicate with friends who use this

#

i dont even use that, only to answer them

wise forge
#

But it's true is anoyn the way that the user is treated as the product, and we can't do shit for example in YouTube even if play premium you will see ads inside the videos Netflix you see hidden ads too it is annoying

wise forge
mighty robin
#

i have messenger app from fb on my phone, not facebook app itself

#

but yes true

mighty robin
#

found a way around it

#

if you use brave browser

#

on android, at least, then youve got built in adblock, and youtube.com cant display ads

#

same for brave browser on linux

#

this forces you to use youtube as the web app, but there are no ads, sooo yeah

wise forge
#

Even after they block the ads bockers?

mighty robin
#

yeah

#

idk how brave does this, but they have it built-in, their browser is open source so technically someone could check this

wise forge
#

But still

#

The youtubers make they oun ads too lol

#

#

I think that's the only way to live in peace

mighty robin

good way is to just, not attack anyone i think

avoid online debates

real life ones too

#

ignore everything and everyone

#

"debates" as arguments tbh

wise forge
mighty robin

cats do that

Hello everyone, I have a question about 3D in Java. I need a program to show a 3D model, which is a panel with buttons, a screen and toggle switches. When you click on a button or toggle switch, the corresponding animation with this model is played. Is it possible that I downloaded this model from Blender with the appropriate animations, then when I click on a button, one of the animations is played?
Is it possible to transfer materials and textures from Blender and have it work in the animation?
If so, what is the easiest way to do it?
Is there an option to download the model in .obj format and use the contents of that file to animate individual objects (buttons, screen, etc.)?

i am worried that this solution might be too easy to solve for the client, in case they can access and edit the files too and they may have someone who knows how computers work well enough to find the lines of the code by searching for keywords such as "days_deadline" or even "opacity" keyword in the CSS property itself

#

the solution could be to not name the variables clearly, or somehow do that without opacity property, but thats all kinda unclear

#

well, regardless of what we could do, we shouldnt use var variable declarations as in the screenshot, const and let exist for a reason

Don't go into the interview trying to sell yourself as a coder. They want thinkers and people who are able to fit in to the holes in their business and projects. Sure your flexibility, willingness to try be things and different roles. Most importantly be passionate about "information" and technology and be confident.

Read about the company, people and projects and get a feel for the business. They want you to be a part of an organization that is building an integrated world. That is the key.

# shy glade when they realize that u have something important in ur brain they use everythin...

A very important point for all here, to remember, regardless of your employer. Over your life you will come up with ideas that actually are unique and have not been thought of yet. Typically they related to your profession, which is your passion and potentially also your hobby. As you read, collect info, tinker with junk, and just generally live, you will come up with ideas. Companies will claim in their employment contracts that anything you discover or think of while on the job, belongs to them, and they will take that idea from you if they can, and exploit it with little or no reward to you.

If you ever find yourself in this situation, never discuss it with anyone from your business. Even your best friends. Actually don't discuss it with anyone. Hold onto those ideas until you can decide to do something with it yourself. That can be either start building it yourself, or patent the idea (speak to a patent lawyer... And be cautious with them as well). Never enter any ideas into internal corporate 'ideas' competitions, as they are often the sort of things that may seem trivial at the time, but are worth vast amounts as a design that can save money for a business, or make money for a business, and that idea should be sold to the world by you, not an employer that pays you little and expects you to hand over anything and everything you can think of, regardless of whether it was on company time or not.

Patent law is one of the most useful and also counter productive thing devised on this planet.

shy glade
mighty robin
#

i bet it does, in my country it does

#

not sure about other countries tho

pure copper
# shy glade doese patent law work for programmers ?

Yes. Think of the wars between Samsung and Apple, regarding little things like fading colours or dark mode vs light mode, or round corners on s screen verse square corners, or icons with words or no words. Everything you see in the phone interfaces is carefully fought over, and they are trivial design differences. For decades companies have battles with each other, saying something that was inserted into coffee, was stolen from some other product. The reality is if one of the bigger companies likes an idea, they will put money into either buying it for a' trivial sum' relative to its worth, or cousin it was stolen from them, and while you out through legal costs. Even if it is your genuine unique idea. For many programmer that join the open source licenses, it's about fighting patents, and ensures that if it's a real idea that can help mankind, it can be attributed to you. That is the important legacy you can leave the world.

It will be hard for you to finance the development of some ideas as they will be too insignificant on their own, but can benefit one company or many people . That is the decision you will need to make. Even if you do parent an idea, it costs a large amount, money that needs to be spent across the world (it applies in a country by country basis) and even with a parent, will still be covering used and inserted into products of big businesses, cause they know, it's easier to to that and claim you stole it from them, than for you to fight them. That is also the case for certain larger countries that don't abide by international laws or act ethically.

#

(other examples... Basic finger swipe input. Tinder swipe left swipe right selecting/rejection) they are all worth higher amounts of money, and if you use these features in your programs without permission or license, you can be sued.

mighty robin
#

so even though i like open source ideology and i myself use it a lot, id probably never open source fully, because people are bad inherently, they are thieves and leeches

#

i lost all faith in this society and corporations long time ago, people dont have morality anymore, so i guess no reason to trust them so much

Because he wouldn't learn real programming without it

night terrace
#

Maybe he doesn't need it. You don't have to learn C++. Why are you scaring beginners

gloomy meteor
#

in my opinion, he must start with it, because Python is so easy and this is not a good start in programming

pure copper
#

Learning the basics of programming would be best started without the OO components. Unfortunately all the non OO languages are difficult to find these days. C is therefore ideal as it has all the features needed to a comprehensive journey into systems programming whilst providing the fundamental elements needed to code multitudes of algorithms. OO can then be added onto with C++ a little down the way with minimal stress. Following the acquisition of some basic programming skills, and some development of stand alone applications, one can move into some data storage or database work, and then finally adding text formatting languages like html and thin client work.

pliant echo
#

Any .NET Developer who wants to talk English?

pure copper
# mighty robin thats a great theory but id say most mortals would rather start simple, like fro...

When i was little, i started programming using fortran. The whole idea of getting a computer to solve a problem was what gave computer folk the pain to work with computers. Later when i was rummaging threw the system applications, i came across a few orgasms that formatted your text. They asked bolding, italics, headers future etc. It was a fancy little set of character markers that were placed around the word in a text file to make it pretty. Then it ran the text file through that stem program and it turns straight ascii letters into wonderful fancy text like i would see in books. Basically it was html. But it was invented in the 1950s.

I only ever treated it as weird purchasing, the stuff secretaries did to make their bosses documents pretty. The real work was in writing code. Then long time later in the 1990s wwe came along and published fancy looking pretty pages in browsers. It used html to make these pretty documents. It was still just document formatting. But not programming. I pretty much see the end of real programming as the people were all trying to write pure html. Xml d Strong in the 80s and similarly was only for the output and for file transfer interfaces. But never really treated as organizing. Programs were written to produce html or xml, but presents didn't actually write using them. They were just ways to get pretty output from the programs that did the work and which we used to solve problems. They used languages such as c, fortran, cobol, pascal, Ada, modula 2, algol, snobol, basic and they were all extended with lots of nice features as they moved from 3gls to 4gls to 5gl, then the world stopped and the new kids on the block thought html was a new coding language, when really the secretaries had been using it for 40 years. That was a sad day in the coding world.

mighty robin
#

lmao

#

C and all those low level languages are surely more difficult and more "serious", since theyve been around like forever and they are the backbone of the systems, not only software, but idk for me theyre not my kink as I can just write javascript which is the new rich cool kid in the neighbourhoid

#

and yeah youve got the point, you sound like someone very experienced, unlike me, but most modern programmers dont think like you, they just wanna do cool stuff that works and thats usually python or web dev

#

let alone non-IT people, who really think that paying a bit for some generated website like from wordpress is a good idea, while thats bloated to a point when even the html itself is bloated, css too, bloated with absolutely useless code repetition, not to mention js written in jquery which is full of vulnerabilities and shouldnt even be used anymore

pure copper
#

We all want to do the cool stuff or bleeding edge stuff. It's just different as time progresses . In 40 years you'll be talking about how people used to write web pages using things called "computers" that you had on a desk or carried in your hand. There new kids will laugh at you and say tell us some more if these funny stories.

Almost everyone here appears to do programming for websites. (Except me) the priority i put on the front end of a program did not warrant the need for such pretty pictures. The specialization of front end development as a role initially did not interest me, nor does it now, except that i still feel after 30 years since this became a thing, the 'industry' is still making a lot of annoying crappy human machine interfaces, that waste the end users time.
