somber aspen
#

Nah if I'm doing LRGB, RGB gets nuked, then L gets like 0.6 or 0.7.

#

Can't remember the exact values for this, but maybe 0.5.

#

It's usually around there.

#

Nah I ain't lettin that slide

Crazy how much it differs between 6 and 5

somber aspen
#

Bortle scale is kinda difficult to compare in this instance because light domes are usually present and the LP maps just aren't super accurate to begin with.

#

But at zenith B6 won't be too much worse than B5, but the surrounding light domes will have the biggest impact.

somber aspen
#

So I'm guessing you don't have a massive light dome from an airport and small city to your south? Roblox_MADwithJOY

marsh fulcrum
#

Yeah, I think I'm inside the nearest light dome lol

#

Also I just realized I accidentally sent that to how it started and how it's going and not widefield milkyway pics lmao

smoky moth
# somber aspen

Yeah but in my "bortle 6" hardly looks any different from my b8 in terms of visual star count but in a single long exposure image the difference is night and day

#

I think it's mostly because i have a lot of local light pollution that doesn't allow my eyes to fully adjust to the darkness

One of the most difficult targets to process in astrophotography are ones with extremely large differences in brightness. These can include galaxies with very faint halos, or nebulae with very bright cores, such as the Orion Nebula; in all of these examples, the target includes both a very bright inner “core” area, and a faint outer “halo...
