Itto's story is the single best Inazuma story simply because it builds on knowledge we already have, expanding inazuma and it's history. With the addition of Oni and how they executed it there is room for then to do something similar with Yae, I'd like to learn about the kitsune. Compared to Raiden's story his is extremely good. It showcases him as a character. Introduces the Oni and their history really really smoothly not to mention the beautiful fairy tale cutscenes. We get to learn about Itto, where he comes from, and see a bit of lore behind the Oni in Inazuma. I really wish they did these in depth stories with all the important characters

Yeah I’m on the other side of the spectrum where I really liked Raiden’s quest and disliked the first Zhongli quest sooooo I’ll have to see how I feel about Itto’s once I play it in a couple days

im ok with how shes seeing inazuma herself after like hundreds of years and dispelling that idea on how shes emotionless and only set on eternity (though what i got from the quest was that she will still pursue it and have that as her main goal for as long as she lives, yet she will still indulge in the fleeting things of the present)
yet it seemed like we forgot about the vision hunt decree, lives ruined and lost, and her friends but i guess i can excuse learning more about them with how they’re in things like the sakura cleansing quest, the whole orobashi thing, and weapon ascension/weapon description stuff

i felt zhongli’s 2nd story quest was lacking tbh lol

Yeah, the friends’ deaths and their relationships are meant to be learned through side context, if I had it my way I wouldn’t have even given them fully canon designs in her trailer back when that released (just leave em as shadows)

As for the vision hunt decree, Ei accepts that it is her fault about the previous and ongoing shit situation in Inazuma, and vows to make it better eventually (which I’m sure we’ll return to cough leaks)

At least in my opinion, all the male character's story quests in the game so far give a lot of story indepth compared to the female characters.

On the topic of the story quests, I really wished they still give story quests to 4-star characters, I'm worried if they do not care about any 4-star who has a background that would be interesting to explore (Rosaria, Ningguang, Beidou) and simply just give them a hangout :/

The other hand however, some 5-star characters I think deserve getting a hangout instead because they do not have so much plot depth to be explored. And I’m talking about Keqing or Yoimiya lol

Overall, hangout quests are great but I do not like the ambiguity of the ending canons, especially if the character at one point tell about their past, an example being Beidou revealing she lived in an old village where people believed she was cursed.
I think they should not restrict the usage of story quests and hangout quests to 5-star and 4-star characters respectively.

Kokomi’s quest is a glorified dating quest as well but the second half of her quest is pretty good

Her writing still makes her so incompetent for someone whose marketed as a smart strategic leader

yess compared to other characters that were added later in the game Shenhe and Yun Jin were by far done the best, they continued on already established bonds and events and both their entries didn't feel forced. Lack of information on Shenhe before hand was explained very well and Yun Jin had been mentioned before in Liyue it didn't feel as forced as it did with other characters Yanfei especially since they practically got story quests all to themselves

I sincerely hope Mihoyo continues going down this road. I was afraid the traveler and only the traveler would help Shenhe become a new person and she'd automatically be 100% alright with being in Liyue Harbor but I'm glad both of those things weren't the case. Shenhe had Yunjin, Ningguang, Beidou as well as us. And I'm glad that while she's trying to get used to living in Liyue Harbor, she still has some of the traits that she formed while training with Cloud Retainer as well as due to what happened to her.

Yanfei's small part in the teapot quest wasn't enough to really get to know her I would really like if they went into Yanfei's adeptus thing like how they did with Shenhe. Cast interactions are so cool even if they're brief makes things more fun, so many colorful and fun characters that mhy just neglects sometimes lol

although just pushing characters into things that don't belong there can also get weird but I thought this new quest was the perfect balance
