Well, my theory was essentially that she was a survivor of the Angel race, and that Mavuika erased her name from Natlan's history to sort of like, pretend to be her?
Like idk if you've ever watched the movie Coco, but there's this twist at the end how the main villain murdered this guy and then stole his songs and became famous with it
My theory was that Mavuika erased "Murata's" name from Natlan's history and has taken all of her deeds as her own
I also had a theory that Capitano was from another world, but it was actually based on an old story leak from a while back before

• inconsistent voice quality not matching lines or correct tone/delivery (not talking abt missing voices)
• awkward dialogue (||"Hey traveler! It's me! Chuychu!"||)
• awkward music usage (playing when it shouldnt)
• dungeon music before meeting the boss was very boring and looped endlessly

• the entire boss sequence was twenty times more than fontaine could give objectively speaking
• the special effects and stuff unique to the quest used enhanced the immersiveness
• the npcs running around with their own free will
• the entire ceremony sequence had lots of stuff, not just black screen white text
• pacals new VA
• capitanos entire segment and his defiance against the shade of death was so masterfully crafted, you cant make that shit anywhere else

the ordeal about mavuikas ideas of being a leader vs what she wants was pretty interesting but capitanos whole thing kinda mogged her so it felt redundant as fuck

tldr theres a lot of flaws but i think the boss fight sequence along with capitano and ronovas and the night kingdom angel plot was great but it wasnt all that

especially the final line of the quest just being hehe adventure awaits woo hoo vs neuvillette last year giving the player a thoughtful iota

There was an old story leak, that said that Capitano is an alien
Aka he's like the Traveler and isn't from Teyvat but from another world
And I believe that leak still stands true and I'll explain why thats relevant

As you said, Capitano's story is over. But I think that there are like 2 Capitanos
One Capitano is from Khaenri'ah
And the other is from another world
What I believe happened is that
The Capitano from Khaenri'ah died and the Capitano from another world had his memory erased, and the soul or memory of the Capitano from Khaenri'ah got stuck in the body of the other Capitano, which is why he says he's from Khaenri'ah and everything but it isn't actually the case, he just has big memory loss

So my point is
The story of the Capitano that is from Khaenri'ah is over
And as such, the one who will be brought back is the real Capitano, who is from another world but lost their memory
Does that make sense...? Probably not

As for why I believe that leak to still be real...

My logic is kind of silly but

I don't think that the Traveler will be the hero in the end. I know that they're the hero right now, but if there's more to Natlan's chapter I believe Capitano will be the hero instead

Like think about it like this
In the 4.8 summer event there was this whole thing about "a sword wielding traveler who will be the hero" and our first assumption is that it was talking about the Traveler when it was in fact talking about Wanderer
The Traveler is the hero from another world and everything, hell before we went to battle there was even this mention of how the guy from the Masters of the Night Wind having a vision of a hero who is from another world and that they believe that hero is the Traveler
But it could be Capitano
But then there's also his connection to Khaenri'ah that I feel could be important evidence as well

In the book Perinheri there was the mention of how the people of Khaenri'ah during the blood moon dynasty era would find children from other worlds and take them in
One of them was Perinheri, who was renowed as one of the strongest knights
But whats even more interesting is that book makes reference to Ronova

In the Archon quest we see Ronova's eyes in the sky, and the Perinheri book makes reference to that

There's also that one quest with the kid, next to the meteor located right around the Fatui lab

In that quest we find this star or meteor (which could be a sign of someone from another world who came to Natlan?)
And we also get a book
The book talks about this story about a star that fell in the shape of a woman and tried to get back but she fell in love with a guy and yadda yadda
And that story is obviously just a story passed down from Natlan
But there's this very specific line in it
About how "No one knew that their neighbor had fallen straight from the sky"

Could again be a hint

The last thing is

The Traveler is referred to as the witness right?
As in they're not in Teyvat to change the world or anything
They're just there to witness Teyvat's story
But that begs the question, who is the hero then?

Well maybe, its Capitano

Citlali says that only a descender can help with Mavuika's fate
And who is it that helps her be able to avoid death? Capitano.

We didn't get any lore on the Descenders this time which is very odd
And while I don't believe Capitano will become a descender I do stand by my theory of him being from another world
(Since, as we know, not all that comes from outside of Teyvat is automatically a descender.)

And skirk is gonna be playable soon, so thats even more reason to get into their lore
