dancing is not fighting though. In fighting you have pretty limited number of moves, simply because throughout history fighting styles were refined into those couple dozen of moves. In dancing there is vast variety of moves you can do (at least 3-4 times more than in fighting, not counting even freestyling and inventing stuff on the spot), so identifying a specific move is pretty impressive. Ofc, if it's your rival, then you either know his best or favorite moves or at least researched them, because pulling off what they did in the video is still style points (not real points, but even imaginary styling on your opponent is worth something)

dance battles are not the same as dancing competitions though. You come up with some choreography beforehand ofc, but a lot of it is doing stuff on the spot without having a choreography in mind. Because if you don't improvize, then you won't be able to overcome opponent's moves if they are not bound by set choreography

my best guess is they drew the characters in this scene, but with slightly different framing. one that either had atomic taking more space in the frame, or one where he was higher.
either way, the animator who drew the frame drew up until the frame edges, but way later once the editor was composing the shot he realized he didn't like the way the shot looked like, so he moved the elements a bit then "ah, we have no time to send it back to fix, screw it i'll just darken the shot, nobody'll notice".
this anime had a hell timeline to release, so when an editor finds issues i bet he doesn't bother the already overworked animators and instead just brute forces what he can

usually frames are drawn beyond the shot frame a bit to give the editor some leeway to work with, but i bet they cut corners wherever they could

the black box is the frame, and the keyframe artist still draws beyond it to give context to the animators on what's going on outside the frame, and in case they decide to change the framing a little.

And AFAIK they still have under 250 employees which is why so much stuff is being outsourced to freelancers.

And it really is more Bandai's fault than there's because the other two shows they're working on rn are actually coming out pretty good.

And they were able to put out DanMachi V during that 7 anime season (granted part of it did get delayed) and that was great. Some of that stuff that got delayed I think should be nominated for awards in the anime awards this year.

and so, as she ||swapped with her now-dead twin, she had premonitions of things to come like being kidnapped and beaten, getting run over by a car, etc. And now the people around her whom she loves and cares about have slowly been having those things happen to them instead and she's understandably freaking out over it, only to learn it's because a shaman with a high position/respect in their company has been dealing with her ex-best friend's wishes to not be brought up as a shaman and the universe is basically like "no. stop. you can't do this." as the shaman slowly saps the life force out of the girl and is slowly driving her further and further insane/closer to death|| and it's a whole thing but honestly really attention-grabbing that i binged it when i first found it and now i'm mad i have to wait every week for the next chapter
