Ascendance of the Bookworm (Ending in 9 volumes): Very world-building heavy series about a librarian that dies and reincarnates in a fantasy world with no books. Very slow build, but a very nice read for folks who like deep magic systems and medieval political maneuvering. Pretty much every character gets fleshed out, even one offs.
Overlord (Ending in 2 (maybe 3 if the author chickens out again) volumes): Power fantasy pure and simple. MC is his undead mage character from an MMO he played, brought over with NPCs that are now sentient and behave according to their lore (and since he played an evil guild, they're all evil mfers). So while he looks for other players, he ends up getting dragged along into their increasingly elaborate schemes, all while accidentally managing to constantly achieve great results in the group's "quest for world domination" through complete accident.
Konosuba (Ended last year): Basically the embodiment of a poorly built, drunken DnD group. An isekai MC that is shamelessly an ass, a wizard that can only cast Explosion (and only once a day), a crusader that can't hit, and a priest that's an undead magnet. Fun times (and surprisingly wholesome from time to time).
In Love With the Villainess (Technically ongoing, but everything after Vol 2 is just fluff): Girl isekai's into an otome game, decides she wants the villainess and not any of the male leads. Cue a... surprisingly dense amount of events in just two volumes (A war, a revolution, dismemberment, death, exile, and wholesome yuri romance).
Arifureta (1-2 more volumes before it goes into the "after story"): This one's a guilty pleasure read lol. Dude gets yeeted into the deepest dungeon by his classmates to save themselves, finds a love interest down there, and gradually becomes the strongest while doing his best to find a way to defeat god and return home.

An Isekai is any story (partial or whole) where a character gets transported to another world by any means. This is a very broad definition that can encompass many things from Truck-kun to Space Travel to Magic Portals and anything in between. By my definition anything most things to do with Space Exploration can also be considered Isekai. I would also personally consider certain types of Time Travel Isekai since the characters are in a time that is not their own meaning that world is not their own. The reason that most Isekai fall into fantasy is because Isekai has to fall under either Fantasy or SciFi. Since travelling to another world just isn't realistic by the current means of our world it has to fall into one of those 2. An entire story does not have to be Isekai such as many older anime having Isekai arcs inside the show. I would however disagree with Jake and say that most VRMMO type shows are Isekai. Just my opinion on how that falls into "Another World" (so by my definition Gundam Build Diver Re:Rise is a double Isekai). While many Isekai fall into the Fantasy MMO subgenre they do not define the whole genre of Isekai. In that same way not all Fantasy MMO stories are Isekai (though some of them do share tropes with their Isekai counterparts). All in all Isekai is a very broad term that can encompass some very good stories. Literary classic from the west like Narnia are also Isekai and hailed as some of the best stories of all time.

Depends on what I'm searching up. For most images/gifs though, Yandex has really good reverse image searching (though sometimes I need to crop the image to a specific area in Paint/Photoshop in order to get it to give me an actual specific response)

When that fails, if there's text, I can sometimes have luck using that (using Google Translate's text lens to get the characters if they aren't English) + generic descriptions of the image in Google to get the character in question

After that though, it's kinda just me being extra Yandex pulled up an episode review that included the image (telling me what episode it's from), and I decided to take a minute to quickly scroll through at 240p and find the timestamp.

Yea the problem is that when they tried to make it more Japanese the last time they completely changed entire plot points. Like the MC isn't Jinwoo, the Jeju island arc is way different, and other things. If the MC isn't Jinwoo and is whatever the JP remake guy is then gonna be honest I prob won't watch. Hopefully they decide to just adapt the Manhwa as is and don't just change everything to be JP.

Leave it in Korea, let Jinwoo be the MC, and don't change to many plot points to be "more Japanese".

It doesn't matter if he's the same character just under a different name. It has to be Jinwoo. SL is just big to go around changing that.

Everyone outside of JP knows him as Jinwoo. Hell most people in JP probably know him as Jinwoo as well. Just please please please please please don't change the story in meaningless ways. I honestly wouldn't care if they kept the whole fake country during the Jeju island arc if they don't want to slander JP, just don't fuck around with the rest of it.

Yea it's definitely more of an adaptation than a straight retelling. After reading through the manga I don't really think much is lost by doing it this way. Sure a lot of events happen out of order and they leave out most of the echi stuff (like all of it) but I honestly like this version better. Much more wholesome and comfy.

It's very much one of those "one joke looped" type shows, but if you like the joke (the MC is just being a chuuni/idiot, but is always somehow completely right), then it's really good for the budget it got

The fights aren't all that great tbh (not bad, but not that great either. Just average). But its comedy is really good

It's a really common premise in Korean manwhas. I'd say almost as common of a premise as isekais in Japanese mangas.
