i mean, tbf i feel like they would have had a lot of the main antagonists/deities/etc largely written out and devised from the beginning and then add smaller details in later when everything gets more fleshed out

like they could have had the general idea of each one written out (this one ate a god, this one wasn't okay with it all and tried to fight on his own, etc) and just add details in later like how the one who ate a god is also part of this magical circle of witches and is also the master to this one creation she made and so on and so forth

getting generalized, interesting ideas that could be expanded on later without much issue and keeping things vague enough if you wanted to go in a slightly different direction later

sort of like the gemstones since the beginning of the game, with only one of them being changed retroactively

they were vague enough that people could glean an idea from them, but only after the story is fully released did they make absolute sense (because it was vague enough to do several things in between with)

it'd be really funny if they didn't have a large part of the story generally written and finalized before working more diligently on the details and just spontaneously came up with major plot beats and worldbuilding as they went like an improv comedy skit

that alone is over 100 hours of content

and i'm behind on 10 of them

the fact that she is a massive figurehead for their culture and religion and has been keeping a secret from her people and, effectively, the whole world just to avoid shattering their faith while continuing to pretend everything is just as they believe it to be is absolutely fascinating to me

this entire section of the quest has been absolutely fascinating, honestly

and exciting with the previous section while we couldn't sleep
